Her Rose – Chapter 85

Does It Hurt?

“Who are you!” Father Jiang’s attitude towards this sudden uninvited guest was very impolite.

Cheng Ying smiled but didn’t answer him. She hooked the belt with a reverse grip, and with a light tug, she pulled the tall Alpha off balance. He cried out in surprise as the belt slipped from his grasp.

Cheng Ying casually tossed the belt to the ground, squatted down, and picked up Jiang Hanguang. Smiling nonchalantly, she slowly walked towards Father Jiang.

Jiang Hanguang wrapped her arms around Cheng Ying’s neck and buried her head in the other’s embrace. The world simulated by Chaos was indeed realistic enough. Having regressed to a child’s body, she hadn’t differentiated yet, so naturally, she couldn’t smell the extremely familiar woody scent on the Alpha. However, the familiar warmth and touch were enough to compensate for this unease.

At this moment, Father Jiang already showed signs of being fierce in appearance but timid in heart. From that brief exchange just now, he had already sensed the enormous difference in strength between himself and the other person.

This Alpha female, who didn’t look robust at all, possessed monstrous strength.

Now, as she walked over step by step, although the expression on her face could still be considered amiable, Father Jiang’s calves had already begun to tremble.

“You, you, don’t come any closer! I’m calling the police!” he shouted, taking out his phone and pointing it at Cheng Ying.

Cheng Ying found it laughable. She wanted to say that if he really wanted to see the police, she could call them all over to his house to tap dance right now.

However, she didn’t have time to waste on this virtual creation, so she just smiled and said, “Mr. Jiang, what are you saying? Don’t you recognize me? I’m your neighbor from next door, someone you absolutely cannot afford to offend.”

Jiang Hanguang looked up at Cheng Ying in confusion. The Alpha’s words just now were like God shouting down from the ceiling, echoing with cascading ripples, stirring up waves in the living room.

In an instant, it seemed as if even the surrounding space slightly distorted.

Father Jiang’s expression was momentarily dazed for a few seconds, then, as if waking from a dream, it instantly turned to fear and deference: “Ah, I was wondering who it was, so it’s Miss Cheng! I’ve made a fool of myself, I’m truly sorry!”

Jiang Hanguang: “…?”

In her entire life, she had never seen such a cautious and timid expression on her overly strict father’s face. Even with Feng Nan, he would just be a bit warmer in tone, unlike now, where it could almost be described as fawning.

Cheng Ying glanced at the broken flowers on the floor and said with a smile, “It’s understandable to discipline a naughty child, but Mr. Jiang, you also know the saying, ‘If the son is not taught, it is the father’s fault.'”

Her voice suddenly turned cold: “Before hitting your own child, shouldn’t you give yourself two slaps first?”

Her words were like an undeniable command. As soon as she finished speaking, Father Jiang immediately raised his hand and slapped himself hard on both sides of his face.

“Slap! Slap!”

Just hearing those two crisp sounds, one knew those two slaps were definitely forceful.

Jiang Hanguang was startled and turned her head to look, only to see Father Jiang’s face visibly swelling up. He was now grimacing at Cheng Ying, yet dared not utter a word of complaint.

Cheng Ying nodded in satisfaction, “That’s more like it, Hanguang.”

Jiang Hanguang turned her head blankly and met the Alpha’s smiling eyes.

For some reason, she sensed a hint of mischievous intent.

Jiang Hanguang’s face flushed, and she whispered, “What are you doing?”

Oh my, even her accent has changed.

The curve of Cheng Ying’s lips widened a little more.

The little girl’s voice was like a soft, glutinous sweet cake, still carrying a slightly slurred local accent; it was incredibly cute.

Especially now, with this baby face, yet her eyes still held Jiang Hanguang’s characteristic gentleness and shyness, making her even more endearing.

Cheng Ying tried hard to restrain herself from nuzzling the girl’s soft face like a pervert. In the end, she reached out and ruffled the girl’s soft hair.

“Did you break that flowerpot?”

Jiang Hanguang felt that Cheng Ying must really be treating her like a child, otherwise why would she speak to her in such a coaxing tone, as if talking to a child.

She tried hard to put on a serious expression, attempting to make the other person remember her real age: “It wasn’t me, Xinyue broke it.”

Unfortunately, with this body, this face, and this accent, that serious expression only added to her cuteness.

Cheng Ying felt a critical hit, clutched her chest to calm down, coughed twice, and turned seriously to Father Jiang: “Did you hear that?” She pointed to the dazed Jiang Xinyue, “She did it. You can make your move now.”

Father Jiang’s lips trembled, and he raised his hand and slapped Jiang Xinyue across the face.

Jiang Xinyue fell to the ground, clutching her stinging face in disbelief, and burst into loud wails.

Father Jiang, however, ignored her and went up to give her another kick.

Jiang Xinyue, who had already started rolling on the ground, saw that things were not looking good and immediately scrambled up and ran.

The father and daughter started chasing each other in the living room. The scene looked strangely harmonious, but Cheng Ying had already carried Jiang Hanguang out the door, went to the room opposite, opened the door, and entered.

This place had surprisingly transformed into the home in Yunjing City that both Jiang Hanguang and Cheng Ying were very familiar with.

Cheng Ying placed the astonished girl on the sofa. Jiang Hanguang looked her up and down and finally couldn’t help but ask, “How did you get here? And this house…”

She didn’t remember Cheng Liang saying that these small worlds were interconnected.

Cheng Ying scratched her head in difficulty. This question was too complicated to explain, and clarifying it would only cause unnecessary trouble.

So, in the end, she just blinked and resorted to her usual roguish demeanor: “I heard you calling for me to save you, so I rushed over from afar. It was very tiring.”

Jiang Hanguang: “…”

Playing rogue again. When she was transported here, she was only focused on running; how could she have had time to think of Cheng Ying?

Although that was the case, since Cheng Ying didn’t want to say, she didn’t press further. Anyway, she was already here with Cheng Ying; the other person wouldn’t still have a way to leave her behind, right?

While she was pondering, she saw the Alpha had already taken out a small first-aid kit from a drawer. “Let me see your injury.”

With this reminder from the other person, Jiang Hanguang finally remembered the belt lash she had received on her back.

How did Cheng Ying even know about this?

Jiang Hanguang didn’t ask again. It seemed that ever since coming to this world, Cheng Ying had become a bit different.

It wasn’t a bad change; if anything, she seemed much more at ease.

But this naturally made Jiang Hanguang unable to be more guarded.

It was as if the Alpha was naturally meant to be so omnipotent.

She wanted to say it was nothing, but seeing Cheng Ying’s serious expression, she obediently turned around and took off her top.

The girl’s small upper body was also chubby, fair and tender as snow, but on that vast expanse of snow, a horrifying scar lay across it.

A red, whip-like mark split the small, thin back in two. At the spot where the belt buckle had struck, the dark red blood had already dried.

The slight upward curve of Cheng Ying’s lips suddenly froze, then turned downwards.

She suddenly felt a bit regretful. Why hadn’t she made that bastard slap himself a few more times just now?

The world of Chaos was constructed based on the memories of those who entered it, which meant that Jiang Hanguang had experienced this when she was little.

Back then, there was no her descending from the sky. How did the girl endure it?

The Alpha behind her remained silent for a long time. Jiang Hanguang, bare-chested, felt a bit cold and couldn’t help calling out, “Xiao Ying?”

Cheng Ying’s warm fingers, carrying cool ointment, gently pressed on the wound.

A cold, painful sensation spread. Jiang Hanguang couldn’t help but shiver, and the hand on her back immediately stopped.

Jiang Hanguang sensed the dejection of the person behind her, turned her head to glance at Cheng Ying, who had her head lowered, and comforted, “It’s okay, this wound just looks scary.”

Cheng Ying didn’t answer, silently applying the medicine for her. Jiang Hanguang endured it, trying her best not to move, so as not to cause the other person unnecessary heartache.

These things were all in the past. Although Jiang Hanguang still remembered them, she couldn’t recall what she herself was thinking at that time.

She had probably also prayed for a truly omnipotent hero to appear and rescue her from that suffocating place.

While the medicine was being applied, the Alpha would occasionally blow gently on the wound. Jiang Hanguang felt it tickle, and then she remembered how she had blown on Cheng Ying’s injuries during the filming of 《Little Little Farm》, and a touch of sweetness welled up in her heart again.

After the ointment was applied, Jiang Hanguang subconsciously reached for her top, which was placed aside, but the person behind her took a blanket and wrapped it around her from the front.

The other person then gently held her entire body in an embrace, carefully avoiding her injured back.

“Wait for the medicine to dry before putting it on,” the Alpha said muffledly, burying her head in the girl’s small shoulder hollow.

“Mm,” Jiang Hanguang responded, raising her hand to gently stroke the other’s thick hair.

Silence spread through the air. After a moment, Cheng Ying’s voice, tinged with a bit of bitterness, asked, “Does it hurt?”

Jiang Hanguang clutched the blanket piled on her knees, her beautiful eyes slightly lowered. “It hurts.”

Of course, it hurt. And now, in her lover’s embrace, it hurt even more.

Cheng Ying fell silent again. When this world presented before her the things Jiang Hanguang had once suffered, she once again felt that helpless heartache.

No matter how much she punished those people, the little Jiang Hanguang had already been hurt.

The scars would fade, but the pain once suffered was probably all suppressed in the woman’s heart.

Cheng Ying wasn’t holding her tightly. Jiang Hanguang turned around without much effort. The small girl held the Alpha’s head in her arms, gently combing her hair.

“It doesn’t hurt anymore now. Besides, didn’t you come to save me this time?”

Jiang Hanguang didn’t know why, but when Cheng Ying asked this, all those places where she had once been hurt began to ache faintly.

The grievances of being ignored for years were suddenly exposed to the sun, making her eyes burn and her heart ache with a sour, swollen feeling.

Yet, she was still grateful.

Because after all those countless and forgotten troubles, she met Cheng Ying.

The Alpha looked up, frowning at her, her blue eyes misty, still looking very sad.

At least now, someone cared for her.

The girl holding her, with a face that looked exceptionally pinchable, wore a gentle smile that seemed out of place: “If all that pain was the luck prepaid to God for meeting you, then it was quite worth it.”

The Alpha didn’t answer, just sat up, pulled her into an embrace, and responded with a choked, “Mm.”
