IBPASMA Chapter 89

Side Story 1: Episode 4 - Travel Variety Show Live Finished

Gu Qingtong said this sentence with her breath still slightly unsteady. Her eyes stared fixedly at Yan Chi in front of her, as if she wouldn’t rest until she got an answer.

Perhaps it was because her boiling blood hadn’t yet calmed, or maybe she felt that acting obedient only invited Yan Chi to take advantage of her. At this moment, Gu Qingtong knelt on one knee on the seat, her body leaning forward, slightly higher than Yan Chi, who was still seated in the car. For the first time, she faced her with a more commanding and assertive posture.

Even though the sweet and obedient princess-style braid on her head was done by Yan Chi herself, the soft strands and the pink ribbon casually fell onto Yan Chi’s shoulders, arrogantly slipping into the collar and neckline of her clothes—just like Gu Qingtong’s current “rebellion.” Her entire demeanor exuded unrestrained defiance.

If earlier she had been like a playful owner teasing her little kitten with a snack, now Yan Chi found herself wondering just how far this wild little cat would go when provoked. Yan Chi always had a sly side, but facing Gu Qingtong—who could be both soft and unyielding, using every trick up her sleeve—she could only chuckle softly and say:

“Is Tongtong trying to use a kiss to threaten me? Then I guess I have no choice but to surrender…”

But calling it surrender? There wasn’t the slightest hint of actual submission in her tone or demeanor. Instead, it felt more like coaxing a child throwing a tantrum.

What Gu Qingtong wanted wasn’t this kind of surrender. This so-easily-obtained response left her feeling stuck, as if there was something caught in her throat. In the already tense and uneven breaths shared between them, hers became even more chaotic.

She stared at those red lips, which moved so effortlessly to playfully tease and toy with her, as if pushing and pulling her strings with every word.

It felt like a fire had ignited in her chest, burning so fiercely it painted her vision red. If she didn’t close the gap and kiss her now… she might just go insane.

As if to refute Yan Chi’s words about “using a kiss to threaten,” Gu Qingtong didn’t wait for her to finish her sentence. She directly crossed the last bit of distance, pressing their lips together in a bold move that sealed off all those teasing, mischievous words before they could escape again.

At this moment, Gu Qingtong was truly wild, pinning Yan Chi against the passenger seat of the sports car as she kissed her.

Perhaps the description “chaotic and unrestrained biting” would be more accurate.

The little wildcat’s delicate, white teeth sunk fiercely into Yan Chi’s lips with a ferocious determination, as if intent on drawing blood.

Yan Chi’s hand trembled under Gu Qingtong’s onslaught, causing the camera she had been holding to slip and crash onto the ground.

The live stream went from showing Gu Qingtong initiating the kiss to a completely black screen, leaving the viewers in the comment section on the verge of losing their minds:

[Aaaah! Is there something my precious VIP membership doesn’t include?! I want to see the kiss, not a black screen! Wuwuwuwu!]

[Even though we couldn’t see their faces, judging by that assertive motion and the fact that she startled Teacher Yan so much her phone fell—just how wild is Qingtong?!]

[This is the moment! Can Tong Mei turn the tables this time?! Stop treating us like outsiders and kiss Teacher Yan senseless! Take the lead and win this!]

Gu Qingtong heard the muffled thud of the phone hitting the ground, feeling a flicker of triumph at the thought that she had finally cracked Yan Chi’s composed and self-possessed façade.

But as the moment unfolded, she gradually realized—Yan Chi wasn’t resisting. She wasn’t avoiding the attack but instead let her unleash her frustration.

So focused was Gu Qingtong on her frenzy of bites that she failed to notice when Yan Chi gently but firmly placed a hand on the back of her head, guiding her into an even deeper kiss.

Through the thin fabric of her clothes, she could also feel the faint heat of Yan Chi’s fingertips pressing against her slender waist.

Clearly, Yan Chi was enjoying this rare display of aggression. Not only that, but her subtle, suggestive movements seemed to hint at *teaching* the awkward, flustered Gu Qingtong what to do, as if guiding her without breaking the flow.

It was a silent statement that, if Gu Qingtong ever wanted, Yan Chi could easily reverse the situation and take control.

She didn’t need to do anything else—just this indulgent, tender permissiveness toward all of Gu Qingtong’s actions already felt like a quiet gesture to soothe the feral little wildcat on the attack.

Yan Chi waited patiently as Gu Qingtong’s messy, uncoordinated bites landed densely on her lips. The rare sting radiated across Yan Chi’s lips. Yet knowing where the sensation came from, that pain—like the old bite marks on her shoulder—transformed into a thrilling, tingling pleasure that was nearly unbearable.

In the past, Gu Qingtong had frequently bitten her—stripped of her claws, the petite wildcat could only rely on her soft, rounded teeth as her weapon. She always bit with intensity, leaving beautiful, neatly arranged bite marks across Yan Chi’s shoulder and collarbone as if to take revenge.

Gu Qingtong probably thought such actions were meant to suppress Yan Chi, never realizing just how much Yan Chi adored these sensations and marks left behind on her skin.

But back then, Gu Qingtong refused to kiss her—never had Yan Chi experienced this level of intimacy on her lips until now.

The soft, sensitive skin of her lips—far more delicate than any other part of her body—was acutely aware of the smooth edges of Gu Qingtong’s teeth as they scraped and bit recklessly. Her lips easily turned swollen, blood rushing to the surface, leaving them flushed and tender, imprinted with the undeniable trace of Gu Qingtong’s presence.

Perhaps because the sensation was more intense than expected, the feedback on her lips was even more intoxicating than Yan Chi had imagined.

This made her little finger, resting on Gu Qingtong’s waist, tremble slightly at everything that was unfolding.

She even secretly wondered if Gu Qingtong might actually bite hard enough to break the skin on her lips—leaving behind a mark that would last for days, one visible to anyone who saw her.

But no matter how rushed and frenzied Gu Qingtong was, her instincts kicked in—she was afraid of hurting her “big sister.” There was no way she’d actually break the skin; it was more like she was raising her claws to frighten her prey but pulling back just in time.

As fierce as her actions seemed, part of her was sheepishly thinking: Wuwuwu, would it hurt her? Why isn’t she dodging? I just wanted to scare her a bit…

These conflicted thoughts doused the raging fire inside Gu Qingtong.

Without the courage her fleeting temper gave her, she softened, almost collapsing into Yan Chi’s arms. Unsure of what to do next, she tried to straighten up, only to find Yan Chi holding her head firmly in place. Reluctantly, she remained close, pretending nothing had happened, while her biting turned into a more subdued act: nibbling on Yan Chi’s lipstick like an old habit.

Perhaps sensing Gu Qingtong’s hesitance and retreat—back to her timid and awkward self—Yan Chi let out an almost imperceptible chuckle. The warm breath from her nose tickled Gu Qingtong’s lips, teasing them.

When it came to kissing, Gu Qingtong clearly lacked the confidence and flair she had displayed earlier when taking the wheel, leading the situation with bold decisiveness.

Having her in the palm of her hand like this, delivered yet hesitating, how could Yan Chi possibly let her go?

Even if Gu Qingtong’s next move was merely lipstick nibbling, Yan Chi decided it needed to be done properly.

Gu Qingtong was the first to crack. After all this time, she was still circling on the outside—fumbling without breaking through.

Only now did she realize that Yan Chi was calmly enduring everything without retreating, but neither did she actively take charge as she had in the past.

Gu Qingtong couldn’t run away now, but her frustration reached a boiling point. Spurred on by impulsiveness, she resolved to take what she wanted.

For the first time, she mimicked Yan Chi’s usual boldness and, casting aside her shyness, tentatively extended the tip of her tongue, intent on prying open the cold, unmoving lips before her.

But…why wouldn’t they open?!

Gu Qingtong was perplexed and frustrated, feeling defeated and unsure of what to do next. She was just about to retreat when—unbeknownst to her—Yan Chi found the whole scene utterly endearing. To Yan Chi, Gu Qingtong wasn’t prying at all; her movements were nothing more than soft, clumsy licks that lacked the force or coordination to succeed.

How could her little wife be this adorably inept?

In the end, Yan Chi couldn’t resist any longer. She tilted her chin slightly, and with a wave of confidence and assertiveness, enveloped Gu Qingtong in her presence.

The next moment, Yan Chi’s tongue pressed past Gu Qingtong’s unguarded lips and teeth, effortlessly breaching her defenses with a seamless mix of dominance and tenderness.

From the outside, it might have looked as though Gu Qingtong was pinning Yan Chi against the seat and kissing her fiercely—but the reality had quietly shifted.

How could anyone have expected Gu Qingtong to end up in such a messy situation—being kissed into retreat after retreat, yet unable to escape with Yan Chi’s hand firmly holding her head in place?

It could be said that her rebellion was a complete failure.

Only when Yan Chi finally let her go, leaving Gu Qingtong breathless, did she realize that even the oxygen deprivation from their earlier reckless driving couldn’t compare to this.

“Tongtong kissed me, so naturally, I, your big sister must fulfill her promise—admit defeat and say that sentence.”

Gu Qingtong couldn’t comprehend it. How could Yan Chi’s breathing remain so steady when they had both been caught up in the same breathless kiss?

All she knew was that Yan Chi’s teasing praise, calling her “amazing,” sounded more like sarcasm than anything else.

Embarrassed and angry, Gu Qingtong covered her ears in defiance, declaring that she didn’t want to hear any of it. Her face remained burning red for a long while before the gentle sea breeze finally cooled her down.

It wasn’t until then that Gu Qingtong nervously reappeared in the live stream.

The viewers had already predicted that Gu Qingtong’s attempt to fight back would end in failure. Seeing her now, their laughter exploded across the screen:

[Take Mom’s advice, sweetie! Just embrace your life as a “pillow princess” already!]

[Tongtong always A’s her way up to Teacher Yan, only to deliver herself into her arms on a silver platter!]

Trying to salvage some dignity, she argued back:

“Not true! Just now, I was completely the one pinning my sister against the seat and kissing her! It’s just that you didn’t see it because the phone dropped…”

Yan Chi turned her head slightly, silently gazing at her with no intention of exposing the truth.

After enjoying the sea breeze at the cliff for quite some time, Gu Qingtong drove off toward the second destination she had planned—a place she wanted to personally show Yan Chi.

It was a blue-and-white lighthouse perched at the end of the island’s coastline. Its whimsical colors blended harmoniously with the Mediterranean-style town.

As they approached, they realized it was even taller than they had imagined, with many seagulls wandering around its base. The two’s footsteps startled the birds into taking flight, soaring into the brilliant blue of the sky and sea.

Gu Qingtong tilted her head to look up at the lighthouse before lifting her camera to capture this peaceful yet emotionally moving corner of the island. She explained to Yan Chi:

“That’s the Éclaireurs Lighthouse. In the local language, it’s called the ‘Lighthouse at the End of the World.’

According to legend, lovers who walk to the end of the world together will stay safe and sound and continue their journey together forever.”

As she spoke, her heart began to flutter with a youthful, girlish excitement. Her voice even grew slightly stammered.

“S-so… that’s why I brought you here.”

“I remember Tongtong used to not believe in these kinds of legends,” Yan Chi remarked casually, clearly alluding to their previous time on the show. Back then, during the second episode’s shoot on a snowy mountain, Gu Qingtong had scoffed at the legend of the “Fate Tree.”

Her tone suddenly shifted as she voiced the question she had been holding in her heart:

“So, Tongtong only started believing after I found that wooden plaque?”

Yan Chi had once found the wooden plaque engraved with the characters for “Tongtong” and had asked her at the time, “If I told you I truly saw your name and that’s how I found you, would you believe me?”

Back then, Gu Qingtong had instinctively chosen to avoid answering, but in her heart, she fully trusted in such legends and the idea of destiny.

Perhaps love has a way of turning people into blind believers, fools clinging to faith.

“Because it’s you, I believed.

Whether it was back then or now.”

Gu Qingtong answered softly, finally confessing the feelings she once lacked the courage or opportunity to admit.

Having heard the affirmation she had longed for, Yan Chi finally lifted her gaze, her eyes alight as she looked at Gu Qingtong:

“Tongtong, would you like to hear a secret?”

“Do you remember how writing two names on a wooden plaque and hanging it on the Fate Tree was supposed to bring good luck?

That time, I wrote our names on a wooden plaque and hung it on the tree.”

As she said this, a soft, tender smile appeared on Yan Chi’s lips. “Looking at it now, it seems true—what you hold in your heart will always echo back to you.”

Gu Qingtong froze completely upon hearing this revelation:

“When did this happen? I only remember you finding my wooden plaque and taking it away…”

“I wrote it secretly during the show. I held it in my hand and hid it. When we were searching for your wooden plaque, I hung it up.”

As she spoke, Yan Chi reached out and slowly closed her palm, demonstrating what she had done.

Not just Gu Qingtong but everyone watching the live stream, including Director Bu, was left speechless in shock.

Who could have imagined that in the middle of the four-minute challenge to find the wooden plaque, Yan Chi had not only completed it effortlessly but had also avoided every camera angle and line of sight to quietly hang up her own wooden plaque?

Some viewers even slowed the footage down by three or four times and discovered that when Yan Chi was sifting through the wooden plaques, her fingertips had been entwined with a strand of red string.

In just a blink, when her hand moved behind the tree trunk, that red string had vanished.

It must have been then that she hung it up.

[Oh my god, if I had shipped this moment live, I would’ve passed out on the spot! This is so heartwarming and shippable!!]

[Waaaaah, Teacher Yan’s silent acts of tenderness—she’s so incredibly good to her little beauty!!]

“Jiejie, I want to go find that plaque,” Gu Qingtong suddenly said, her tone serious, every word deliberate.

“Let’s elope and go back to our country.”

This sudden proposal sounded particularly impulsive and completely out of the blue.

Yan Chi indulged her every wish, responding with nothing more than a gentle: “Alright.”

She knew exactly what Gu Qingtong intended. It was tied to the legend: “If two people love each other, the wooden plaque will eventually be found by the other.”

The travel funds they had left were just enough to change their tickets and fly back to City B, where a direct flight was scheduled for that evening.

The livestream comments buzzed with excitement:

[They’re really eloping! From the end of the world back to the echoes of old memories—this is too romantic, I’m crying!]

[The production team must be fuming, lol. I’ve seen wild moves, but nothing this wild! Serves you right for scheming endlessly; Tong Mei took the money and made her own way instead!]

Sure enough, when they saw Director Bu again, he seemed utterly defeated by the duo.

What did it mean to “lift a rock only to drop it on your own foot”? This was it! All he could do was console himself with the thought that at least the show had gone viral.

In the end, he pleaded humbly with the two:

“At least shoot some footage! And remember to keep streaming once you land…”

❖❖❖❖❖

After an entire night of rushing around, Gu Qingtong and Yan Chi finally reached Misty Mountain in City B, not even sparing a moment to rest and adjust to the time difference. They arrived just in time, entering the scenic area before the final cutoff.

Taking the cable car straight to the peak, Yan Chi didn’t need a map to retrace her steps from before. She guided Gu Qingtong back to the familiar Fate Tree

Winter had passed into spring, and summer was fast approaching. The rime that once enshrouded the snow-covered mountain had long since melted.

It was the off-season for tourism, and there wasn’t a single visitor in sight. A few staff members were tidying up, preparing to leave for the day.

The once frost-laden Fate Tree had shed its icy mantle, making the pair of intertwined trunks even more noticeable.

New leaves sprouted densely, lush and vibrant, complementing the red-stringed wooden plaques that adorned the branches.

Golden sunlight streamed through the gaps in the foliage, forming rings of light beneath the tree. It lent the Fate Tree an almost divine quality.

Gu Qingtong tilted her head back, gazing up at the countless plaques nestled closely together on the branches, and declared with resolve:

“Big sister, wait for me. I’ll find it too, no matter what.”

“Mm, I believe you.”

Standing beneath the tree, Yan Chi watched as Gu Qingtong weaved among the plaques, earnestly searching.

It felt like déjà vu—standing under the same tree, holding her breath as she witnessed Gu Qingtong’s determined search.

She hoped Tongtong would succeed but feared the heartbreak of repeated disappointments.

Finally, Yan Chi’s heart settled as she saw the girl rise on her tiptoes, retrieve a plaque bound by red string, and turn toward her with her arm raised high.

Gu Qingtong’s peach-blossom eyes curved like crescent moons as she repeated the words Yan Chi had once said:

“I found it!”

“It’s Tongtong and Big sister!”
