Here’s the link for the Novel Updates page.

You can find the link to the original work there to MTL it yourself. Or, you can just Google “I Became The Koi Actor After Entering The Book translation ” and see what pops up. You can usually find at least one complete MTL version that way.

(I don’t recommend adding the word “MTL” into your google search; simply because once in a (very) blue moon, you might even find an actual edited translation that’s not posted on NU. It’s quite rare though, so I wouldn’t count on it. Or sometimes it’s one of those crappy translation sites that charges you; because there’s nothing like selling something you have no legal right to sell without even providing compensation to the original author to motivate the authorities to crack down hard on translation sites and ruin it for everyone else… I don’t get why they can’t just post links to Ko-fi and Patreon like normal translators do; having the system that gives translators some compensation for their time and effort be voluntary and donation based, rather than having a fixed, mandatory sale price for a work they are not legally allowed to sell, avoids breaking the law and still gives the translators a monetary reward for all their hard work. Plus, people who can’t afford to spend like $50(more or less) per translated novel(because $0.50 per chapter for a novel like 100+ chapters adds up) can still read it and compensate what they can afford within their budget for reading the whole work and/or their favorite chapters. IDK, man. I really don’t know.)

(Can you tell I hate the translators that charge for reading rather than asking for donations? If they owned the rights to do so, I wouldn’t care; but not only are they placing all the translation sites that don’t charge fees in danger of being shut down by doing so, it also feels very coercive when they don’t have it stated anywhere that they charge for reading translated works until you’ve already read enough free chapters to become invested.

Sort of like: you win a free stay at a nice hotel for 1-2 weeks, and when you get there, there’s a complimentary breakfast. But after a few days, just when you’re sitting down in the morning with your plate of food, they suddenly inform you without any pre-warning or posted notifications that breakfast is no longer free, and if you want to finish your plate, you need to pay for it. To make matters worse, the hotel itself isn’t charging you for breakfast – it’s the kitchen staff that unilaterally decided to start charging the customers extra for their hard work. If they had put up a notice stating that they were underpaid, and requesting that customers considering tipping the kitchen staff if they enjoyed their meal, you probably would have been willing to tip generously and been glad to do so. But now, you just feel pissed off. They don’t think it’s a big deal, because you’re already staying there for free; but since they suddenly sprung an unexpected charge on you at the last minute when you weren’t expecting it, it feels like entrapment. Being informed ahead of time that there would be a fee to continue ordering breakfast after x number of days might make you feel a bit disappointed, but you wouldn’t feel cheated. Now, however, because of the way they handled it, even if you wouldn’t have minded paying as long as it had been made clear in advance that there would be a fee,
you feel psychologically disgusted by them.)

*Ahem* …Sorry about the rant. I just recently ran into that issue and am still angry over it.

(There was absolutely nothing whatsoever anywhere on that website to indicate that they charged for reading their translations(I double and even triple-checked after being told I needed to pay to continue reading), and the first 42 chapters of a 150 chapter novel were free; before I opened chapter 43 and was THEN notified that there was a charge of $0.50 per chapter to continue reading. Absolutely no mention of it anywhere else; not even one of those little lock symbols or something in the chapter list; nothing in ANY of the pages found in the menu or on the home page, not even in small print at the bottom somewhere. So yeah – I’m freshly incensed about this issue. Sorry.)
