IPDAOLR Chapter 35.2

IPDAOLR Chapter 35.2

Bai Yujun gently touched the collar around her neck, lowered her head, and smiled faintly. “Now that I’m free, I don’t hate this identity as much anymore.”

“I see,” Jiang Zhihuo replied with a smile as well. “Good luck on the exam!”

There were fifteen minutes of preparation time before the exam. While everyone else was busy reviewing, Jiang Zhihuo and Yan Mu met in the empty classroom—and spent ten of those minutes kissing.

Both Math and English exams were two hours long, and ten minutes of kissing could help them suppress it. For Chinese and Science, they had agreed to step out for a brief moment. One was the top student, and the other, not so much. No one would suspect them of a ten-minute restroom break. It wouldn’t be possible to cheat—if they did, they certainly wouldn’t perform worse than Jiang Zhihuo and wouldn’t score higher than Yan Mu either[mfn]T/N: This part basically means that since Xiao Huo is already at the bottom of the whole school ranking, and Yan Mu is at the top of the ranking, then it’s impossible for them to get the score lower or higher than that even if they cheat. LOLLL[/mfn].

Everyone in the No. 1 High School was an insanely studious monster, really. Even the students in the last exam room achieved the first-tier university results. Things like showing cheat sheets or asking the person in front to pass answers simply didn’t happen here.

The first three exams went smoothly, without a problem. The final one—English—was only two hours long, and Jiang Zhihuo thought nothing unexpected would arise. After the ten-minute kiss, he casually took a pen from Yan Mu’s pencil case and strolled leisurely toward the exam room.

It was mid-October—clearly already autumn—but that afternoon was unusually hot.

The dry, hot breeze crept along the window ledge. The ceiling fan whirred above. Extra exam papers and answer sheets on the podium were blown askew. The invigilator used the chalkboard eraser to press them down.

The broadcast was conducting a sound check, and a familiar female voice said, “The price of the shirt is nine pounds and fifteen pence.”

Before the English listening exam officially began, the invigilator closed the windows and turned off the fan, making the whole class even more stuffy.

The difficulty of the English exam was generally medium. It was rare for a question to be unclear at this top school. Aside from the translation and composition sections, the rest of the exam was multiple-choice questions, making it more manageable to control the scoring.

Jiang Zhihuo hurriedly finished the parts he ‘should’ know, then randomly marked C for the rest, intermittently choosing a few Bs, and started to stare blankly out of the window.

The sky was blue, the trees were green, and autumn in Lincheng didn’t have maple leaves.

When his mind wandered, he would sometimes think about life in another city.

There were cherry blossoms, snow, parents who were university professors, and a boy he dared not touch.

When one was young, one loved making promises with one’s playmates, like becoming their bride when they grew up, going to a certain school together, or moving to a specific city.

They would also like to leave tokens of their promises. When they grew up and looked at them, some would share a smile, while some would feel that those promises were too childish, covering the other person’s mouth, preventing them from saying no more.

Jiang Zhihuo had made a promise like that too, though his were more straightforward and impulsive. Back then, his mother’s older sister, his aunt, had just given birth and brought the baby over to visit. The two boys leaned over the crib, watching and laughing. It was unclear whether they truly understood what they were seeing or if they simply found it amusing.

The little baby was fair and chubby, toothless, giggling at them.

Yun Zhou said, “Qin-ge, I want to give birth to a baby for you in the future too.”

Qin Mu responded, “We’re both boys.”

Yun Zhou said, “Maybe one of us will differentiate into an omega. That way, we can have a baby.”

Ignorant childhood words, yet they turned out to come true.

The corner of Jiang Zhihuo’s mouth raised to a smile.

There was still half an hour left until the exam ended. Jiang Zhihuo thought perhaps he could take a short nap. Just as he was about to lie down, before the second hand of the exam room clock even completed one full circle, he abruptly shot up, sitting straight.

Suddenly, the back of his neck was—Burning! Hot!

Before he even realized what was happening, all sorts of reactions hit him at once. It felt as though his neck was being strangled and his chest tightened, unable to breathe. Cold sweat poured down, and his whole body was in agony as if being slowly drained, with his limbs losing all their strength in an instant.

—Heat symptoms!!

F*ck?!

Why is it appearing now? Wasn’t it supposed to be suppressible for two hours before?!

However, Jiang Zhihuo had no time to think further—just from the moment he sat up, the area behind him was already wet!

“Student in the last row, what’s wrong with you?”

His movement was too abrupt, and the invigilator at the podium clearly noticed something was wrong and questioned him.

He was a new intern teacher this semester, and the invigilator tasks were randomly distributed. Unfortunately, he ended up with the senior year’s last exam room. The moment he walked in and saw Jiang Zhihuo sitting in the corner, his vision almost went black.

He had never interacted with Jiang Zhihuo before. Upon entering the room, all he heard was the infamous legend of this so-called school bully—skipping classes, ranking at the bottom, and once taking down five students single-handedly and directly sending them to the hospital. The teacher didn’t dare to intervene at all. Although he found it bizarre that such a student still existed in a school full of top achievers, he was aware that there were many ways for enrollment, so he didn’t press further. Luckily, the exams had gone smoothly so far—students ranking that low didn’t even bother to cheat. Jiang Zhihuo would just finish filling out the answer sheet and start zoning out.

Who would’ve thought that in the final half hour, the school bully would suddenly sit upright?

As an invigilator, he couldn’t ignore such abnormal behavior. “If there’s something wrong, raise your hand and tell me.”

The other students in the exam room turned to look.

Jiang Zhihuo lowered his head and remained silent for a moment. He couldn’t control the force in his hand. With a slap, he hit the table, grabbed the exam paper and answer sheet, and slammed them onto the podium. Using his willpower and years of acting skills, he pretended to be alright, then whispered, “Teacher, I have an urgent matter.”

In principle, No. 1 High School did not allow students to turn in their papers early, but in this situation, Jiang Zhihuo had no choice.

As soon as he finished speaking, he hurriedly walked out of the classroom.

The heat came all of a sudden and intensely as well. Unlike before, there was no sensation from the start, but this time it hit directly, offering no time for any response.

With nowhere to go, the isolation classroom required application, and he hadn’t gotten the key in advance. The school infirmary was in another building, and he couldn’t just collapse in the corridor. There was a chance that another alpha with that thirteen fragrance could be on the same floor.

Jiang Zhihuo could only stagger his way to the restroom, lock himself in a stall, and sit on the toilet lid.

When the heat appeared, it was hard to keep his mind clear, and his vision turned increasingly blurry. Just as the last bit of consciousness faded, he sent a message to Yan Mu. Yan Mu wouldn’t be able to see it now, but Jiang Zhihuo had no other choices.

Fortunately, the environment of the No. 1 High School was excellent. Every tile was spotless. Additionally, someone came in to disinfect and clean before each class ended. Even the windowsill had scented candles, so it wouldn’t be unbearable if he fainted in here.

Jiang Zhihuo: Come save me!!!

After pressing the send button, Jiang Zhihuo’s vision went dark, and he completely lost consciousness.

Qiu Bian was also on this floor. After Director Feng was taken away, an omega organization found him and provided psychological counseling. They were working to help him eliminate the effects of the marking. He was now able to return to class with a normal mentality.

Before the English exam, he happily shared a bottle of iced red tea with Tang Anmiao. However, it was precisely this iced tea that forced him to go to a restroom break half an hour before submitting his exam.

He hadn’t yet entered the restroom when he heard someone slam the stall door heavily. Immediately after, an extremely strong pheromone scent wafted out.

As an omega, Qiu Bian was very familiar with the situation. He instantly recognized that it was an omega in estrus!!!

There were invigilators in the corridor, but they were all beta, so they couldn’t smell it. But Qiu Bian didn’t trust them, and without any hesitation, he rushed to the exam room where Ding Jianhui was invigilating.

Only Ding Jianhui truly protected omegas and had previously defended them.

Luckily, before the exam, Tang Anmiao had told him that Ding Jianhui was the one invigilating their exam. With a familiar teacher, at least she wouldn’t be nervous during the exam.

Qiu Bian rushed upstairs.

Ding Jianhui saw Qiu Bian’s anxious expression and quickly stepped out of the classroom to inquire. Upon hearing what Qiu Bian said, his face turned pale.

Tang Anmiao had already finished her exam. Her English skills were good, and she was quick at answering questions. When she noticed Qiu Bian, whose expression appeared like something had occurred. Not even waiting for the exam to end, she hurried out of the classroom and asked, “What’s happened? What’s wrong?”

Qiu Bian lowered his voice and said briskly, “An omega is in estrus downstairs!”

Ding Jianhui asked another invigilator to supervise on his behalf and hurried to the office to get the inhibitor, then went downstairs with the two students. Since he learned that there was an omega in the class, Ding Jianhui had kept omega supplies in his drawer just in case.

Ding Jianhui couldn’t smell anything, and while Qiu Bian didn’t know the real situation, Tang Anmiao immediately recognized the owner of the pheromones.

——It’s Jiang Zhihuo!

She had once smelled Jiang Zhihuo’s pheromones!

Jiang Zhihuo had clearly lost consciousness. Ding Jianhui kept knocking on the door but received no response. Just as he was about to break down the door, Tang Anmiao rushed in, not caring that it was a men’s restroom. She quickly stopped Ding Jianhui.

Huo-ge hadn’t told anyone that he was an omega yet. The differentiation from A to O would be difficult to explain, and probably few would believe it. Who knows what kind of rumors would spread at school? Tang Anmiao didn’t want Jiang Zhihuo to be forced to expose himself because of this. “Teacher, please step out first. I’ll help him with the inhibitor.”

Ding Jianhui was probably also aware this was a student that hadn’t mentioned being an omega, so he asked, “Is it okay?”

“It’s fine, teacher,” Tang Anmiao replied as she took the inhibitor. “I know him.”

Before Ding Jianhui left, he made sure to close the door outside. Tang Anmiao pushed the door with all her strength, creating a small gap, then shoved a broom through and forced the plastic lock open. The door instantly opened, and sure enough, it was Jiang Zhihuo!

Tang Anmiao removed the cap of the inhibitor and injected it into the back of Jiang Zhihuo’s neck. Nevertheless, even after the entire dose was injected, Jiang Zhihuo showed no reaction. His pheromones continue to leak out steadily. The inhibitor barely managed to suppress it a little, but the heat showed no signs of stopping!

What’s going on?!

Does the regular inhibitor not work on an omega who has undergone a second differentiation from alpha?!

The moment the bell for the end of the exam rang, Yan Mu immediately came out of the classroom.

The ten-minute kiss could now only suppress it for two hours. He had to get to Jiang Zhihuo as fast as possible.

He was in the first exam room, two floors away from Jiang Zhihuo’s twelfth exam room. During the exam, his phone had been off. As he descended the stairs and turned it on, the message Jiang Zhihuo had sent half an hour ago appeared after entering the password.

Jiang Zhihuo: Come save me!!!

Yan Mu’s heart tightened.

There was no way Jiang Zhihuo would ask for his help for other things!

He quickened his pace. When he reached the second floor, a crowd had gathered near the restroom. Tang Anmiao came out and said the inhibitor was ineffective. Ding Jianhui rushed to find a doctor from the infirmary, while Qiu Bian stood at the door, preventing anyone, especially any alpha, from approaching.

As soon as he reached the staircase, Yan Mu had already caught the scent of the pheromones. His heart tensed, and he pushed through the crowd, intending to get inside.

The others hurriedly stopped him, grabbing his arm. “Yan-ge, there is an omega in estrus inside. You’re an alpha, you can’t go in!!”

Yan Mu didn’t have time to pay attention to the pain that flared up in his arm from being touched. He shook off their hands and yelled at the group blocking him, “Let go! My omega is inside!”
