Twenty-five minutes ago, Yu Chen still believed that the love between him and Yun Xunlan was mutual—a heartfelt connection of two souls, a romance where neither would let the other down. He thought it was a forbidden love that defied genetic programming and alpha instincts.
But now?!
Was their love truly forbidden? No—it turned out the real taboo was Yun Xunlan’s fetish!
Ha! Alphas really are creatures ruled by their lower halves.
—His deep and sincere feelings had ultimately been misplaced.
Yu Chen felt as though a fire was burning in his chest.
But he couldn’t help wondering: What if he was wrong? What if Yun Xunlan didn’t actually have this so-called “Dirty Talk” fetish? What if the youth simply wanted to hear him recite the “oath” every day for innocent reasons? …Never mind—there wasn’t a “what if.”
At this point, it was too late to say anything.
He and Yun Xunlan had already done everything there was to do—his precious virginity had been given away. Besides, he couldn’t possibly break up with Yun Xunlan over this slightly peculiar fetish.
Most importantly, Yu Chen didn’t want to believe that Yun Xunlan truly had such a fetish.
So Yu Chen decided to wait until they were back at the dorm together that evening and directly ask Yun Xunlan about it.
Yun Xunlan, unaware of the alpha’s plans, spent the entire day troubled by the slander and insults Yu Chen had faced online. He was determined to return to the dormitory early after work to spend time with his lover.
However, at 5:30 PM, there was an issue with the protective materials for the battleship’s escape pods that required Yun Xunlan’s attention. By the time he finished working overtime to resolve it, the sky was already pitch black.
Yun Xunlan rubbed the back of his neck and stretched before checking his light-brain for the time—10:00 PM sharp.
His private chat with Yu Chen had last been updated at 6:00 PM when he explained to the alpha that he would be late leaving work—
**[Yun Xunlan]: Baby, there’s an issue in the lab. I’ll be late getting off work. If you’re tired, you can go ahead and sleep—you don’t have to wait for me. Kiss kiss =3=**
**[Yu Chen]: I’ll wait for you.**
As Yun Xunlan rushed back to the dormitory, he typed another message in response to Yu Chen’s reply:
**[Yun Xunlan]: Baby, I’m off work now. Are you asleep?**
Yu Chen replied instantly:
**[Yu Chen]: No.**
**[Kiss kiss Lanlan wifey]: Then wait for me a little longer—I’m almost there.**
Yu Chen turned off his light-brain without replying to Yun Xunlan’s latest message. Seeing his own nickname for Yun Xunlan made him feel like he was falling apart inside. And yet Yun Xunlan hadn’t even noticed how cold his replies had been today.
If Yun Xunlan couldn’t notice something like that, did he even care about him anymore? Did he still love him?
To be fair, Yun Xunlan really hadn’t noticed Yu Chen’s cold tone in his replies—after all, Yu Chen usually spoke in this manner during private chats online anyway. Moreover, every reply had been instantaneous. Even if Yun Xunlan had noticed something off, he would have assumed it was because Yu Chen was upset over being slandered.
As Yu Chen’s lover—and being over 2,000 years older than him—Yun Xunlan felt it was his responsibility to be understanding of these small emotional fluctuations.
So when Yun Xunlan returned to the dormitory and opened the door, he saw the blue-eyed alpha sitting on the edge of the bed, his expression visibly gloomy and his gaze dark and deep as it swept toward him. Apart from feeling distressed, Yun Xunlan didn’t have any other emotions.
He thought to himself: *Yu Chen is being misunderstood and insulted by so many people. Even if he doesn’t admit it, he must be feeling hurt inside. I need to comfort him.*
Thus, Yun Xunlan hurried toward Yu Chen, opening his lips to call out: “Baby…”
But before he could take more than two steps, Yu Chen’s low and hoarse voice rang out coldly: “Stop.”
Without hesitation, Yun Xunlan froze in place, standing quietly where he was.
What he could never achieve in the virtual battlefield—absolute obedience to commands—seemed to come naturally when it came to Yu Chen, as if it were an instinctive reaction that required no teaching.
Yet seeing Yun Xunlan so obedient and docile didn’t improve Yu Chen’s mood in the slightest. In fact, it worsened it. Because Yun Xunlan listened so well to his words—his damned mouth.
Yu Chen pressed his lips tightly together without saying anything further. He lifted his gaze slightly, looking down at his lover with a scrutinizing and assessing stare.
His lover was undoubtedly beautiful.
It was a beauty that transcended gender.
The corners of Yun Xunlan’s lips curved softly with warmth; the red mole on his eyelid carried a seductive charm; every movement was graceful and refined; every smile was captivating and tender.
Even though every strand of his silver hair seemed to exude desire, Yun Xunlan himself wore a pristine white uniform. On this sweltering summer night, he had even buttoned the topmost button of his shirt, unwilling to reveal even an inch of warm skin. Normally, Yun Xunlan wouldn’t wear his uniform after work—but today he had come back wearing it, with his hair still tied up behind him. It was as if he had rushed back just to see Yu Chen.
Yu Chen wanted to ask him directly about what was on his mind but found himself unable to voice the question.
Instead, Yun Xunlan stood there for a moment and, seeing that Yu Chen wasn’t speaking, took the initiative to ask: “Baby, what’s wrong?”
Yu Chen still didn’t respond.
He raised an arm slightly toward Yun Xunlan as if asking for a hug.
And then he watched as the noble and elegant prince of the Galactic Empire—someone of high status—obediently walked toward him like someone completely tamed.
Sometimes anger and desire are separated by only a single step.
So when Yun Xunlan reached Yu Chen’s side, leaving no distance between them, the fire that had been burning in Yu Chen’s chest since noon suddenly transformed into something else entirely.
He raised his left hand gently to block Yun Xunlan’s outstretched arm, rejecting his embrace. Then with his right hand, he grabbed Yun Xunlan’s waist and pulled him closer onto himself.
Yun Xunlan hadn’t expected Yu Chen to avoid him and hadn’t guarded against him either. Caught off guard by Yu Chen’s pull, he nearly fell over. To steady himself instinctively, Yun Xunlan parted his legs and knelt on the bed on either side of Yu Chen’s body.
“You didn’t change out of your uniform,” said the blue-eyed alpha as he wrapped his arms around Yun Xunlan and buried his head against the inside of his shoulder.
“I wanted to rush back after work to see you—I left in a hurry and forgot,” Yun Xunlan replied softly as he rested his hands gently on Yu Chen’s shoulders. He then asked: “Baby, do you not like seeing me in my uniform? Should I take it off?”
Yu Chen didn’t respond verbally. His forehead remained pressed against Yun Xunlan’s shoulder while his hand moved up to the back of Yun Xunlan’s neck. With his fingertips, he peeled off the pheromone suppressant patch stuck there.
“And your hair—it’s still tied up.”
Yun Xunlan felt the alpha’s scorching breath against his Adam’s apple, his voice muffled as it resonated through his bones. However, he couldn’t see Yu Chen’s expression as he spoke. Interpreting Yu Chen’s words, Yun Xunlan assumed the man didn’t like seeing him with his hair tied up and began to reach for the hair tie to undo it.
But just as his hand left Yu Chen’s shoulder, the alpha issued a command in a low, hoarse voice: “Don’t move.”
Yun Xunlan had no choice but to gently place his hand back on Yu Chen’s shoulder.
The alpha seemed satisfied with his obedience, and Yun Xunlan heard Yu Chen let out a soft laugh: “So well-behaved?”
Yun Xunlan nodded: “Mm.”
He noticed that Yu Chen hadn’t moved away from his neck at all, continuing to sniff and nuzzle there. So Yun Xunlan released a small amount of pheromones—not too much.
Alpha pheromones are different from omega pheromones; they can’t soothe other alphas. Releasing too much could trigger the instinctive combat response between alphas and cause Yu Chen’s emotions to spiral further out of control.
But even that tiny bit of pheromones was enough to make Yu Chen lose control.
“Don’t release your pheromones around me,” Yu Chen said as he raised his head from Yun Xunlan’s neck. His brows furrowed slightly, and his icy blue eyes stared at Yun Xunlan for a moment before shifting away.
This made Yun Xunlan frown as well because he noticed that Yu Chen’s pheromone suppressant patch on the back of his neck hadn’t been removed—yet the air was gradually filling with a cold, damp scent.
“Yu Chen, are you…” Yun Xunlan leaned closer to Yu Chen, trying to get a better whiff. “Are you in your susceptible period again?”
The posture resembled that of a kiss, and seeing this, Yu Chen immediately reached out to grab Yun Xunlan’s hair and pulled him away from his face. Despite this rough action, Yun Xunlan remained as delicate and beautiful as a lychee rose in a garden—allowing himself to be plucked without resistance and refraining from showing thorns for fear of causing Yu Chen even the slightest pain.
“Yes.” Yu Chen released his grip on Yun Xunlan’s hair and buried his head back into the youth’s neck, asking pitifully: “What should I do? I don’t want to use suppressants.”
Both were alphas—and lovers who had already been intimate—so Yun Xunlan naturally understood the implication behind Yu Chen’s words.
He wanted to express his consent through a kiss, but as soon as he leaned in to kiss Yu Chen, the alpha turned his head away and said with a rolling Adam’s apple: “Put the bite guard on me.”
Even in bed?
Yun Xunlan was puzzled and found it somewhat odd.
Yu Chen’s gaze grew darker, carrying an inexplicable sense of danger and threat as he said: “If you don’t put it on me, I’ll want to mark you.”
Yun Xunlan had no choice but to comply. He got up and retrieved the bite guard.
Yu Chen remained seated on the bed waiting for him. When Yun Xunlan raised the bite guard, Yu Chen obediently tilted his face upward—his wolf-tail half-ponytail tied loosely at the back of his neck, with scattered black strands falling around it. His sharply defined features carried an untamed arrogance that made it clear to anyone that he hadn’t lost his wildness. Yet in Yun Xunlan’s eyes, he resembled a wolf that had already been domesticated.
After fastening the bite guard onto him, Yun Xunlan couldn’t resist stroking the top of Yu Chen’s head with a smile: “Good boy.”
Yu Chen’s gaze swept across Yun Xunlan’s face. With the bite guard covering his mouth, his speech was obscured as he asked: “Are you petting a puppy?”
“No,” Yun Xunlan replied with curved eyes as he leaned down and kissed Yu Chen lightly on the forehead. “I’m petting my baby.”
Frivolous!
Flippant!
Not dignified at all!
Yu Chen silently criticized Yun Xunlan in his heart for his rogue-like habit of kissing him at every opportunity, yet his body was undeniably honest in its reactions.
He thought to himself: *Well, there’s no helping it. I can’t entirely blame Yun Xunlan—after all, alphas are creatures ruled by their lower halves. I’m no exception.*
Yu Chen decided not to directly ask Yun Xunlan whether he had any special fetishes. Instead, he planned to probe subtly. If Yun Xunlan didn’t have any, then their love was genuine.
If Yun Xunlan did… well, that would be fine too.
He could play the role of Yun Xunlan’s “puppy” for fun, but in bed, Yun Xunlan would have to be his “little plaything.”

Let’s enter this realm with safe words, fur-lined cuffs, and paddling 🥴😈
