SDVPP Chapter 66

Pursuit

Rong Xu’s breath brushed across Chi Han’s cheek, a warmth lingering on his lips.

Throughout the whole moment, Chi Han was dazed. Rong Xu only tasted lightly, not forcing himself deeper.

After they separated, neither of them spoke.

Rong Xu shifted a little closer and quietly asked, “Did I scare you?”

Chi Han moved the two hands, still clasped together, then touched his own lips.

This… was the first kiss already over?

He felt a bit shortchanged.

For a moment, Rong Xu couldn’t quite grasp what Chi Han was thinking now, but since he had already broken through this thin barrier, no matter what he said next, he wasn’t willing to retreat.

He half-sat up, pressing their joined hands against his chest, breathing in lightly, his face full of seriousness: “Chi Han… can you feel my heartbeat?”

The trembling beneath his palm was especially intense; Chi Han sensed how excited and nervous the person in front of him was at that moment.

Rong Xu closed his eyes and laid himself bare, completely open, skin and bone:

“I originally thought I would never stand up again. At that time, I only thought about how to take revenge on them, wanting to burn everything down with one fire.”

“But then you appeared. I went through the happiest period of my life in more than ten years. I wanted you to always watch over me, but I was afraid I’d become a burden to you, so I didn’t dare say anything or do anything.”

“At that time, I thought, if I could stand up and hold you, I’d be willing to pay any price.”

Rong Xu sincerely kissed Chi Han’s ring finger, his voice a little hoarse: “Luckily, heaven smiled upon me. After my first surgery, I regained feeling in my leg.”

He pointed to his heart and smiled, his eyes slightly red: “From now on, every beat here is thinking of you.”

Chi Han’s nose suddenly felt sour, and a mist of tears welled up in his eyes.

Love arises without knowing its origin, but grows deeply and unwaveringly.

He asked his own heart honestly. He hadn’t taken very good care of Rong Xu; in fact, many times it was himself who was taken care of more.

Even so, Rong Xu still resolutely gave all his tenderness to him without hesitation.

“Chi Han, can I pursue you?”

The corners of Rong Xu’s lips curled up. Toward Chi Han, he would offer the utmost respect and indulgence. From now on, nothing would ever make Chi Han feel wronged.

Not even himself.

Chi Han blinked hard to clear the moisture and nodded firmly, his heart swelling full.

“So, do you want to lie down a little longer, or get up and eat now?” Rong Xu propped one hand against his forehead, gently pinching Chi Han’s ear tip with the other.

The ear tip was still a pale pink here, looking somewhat appetizing.

“I want to…” Chi Han murmured softly.

Rong Xu didn’t quite catch it. He leaned in closer and made a single-syllable sound: “Hmm?”

“I said my first kiss was gone a bit suddenly, I didn’t even really get to feel it,” Chi Han said.

After speaking, he turned his face away, flushed bright red, his gaze wandering uncertainly.

With such an obvious hint, Rong Xu should understand, right?

Before he could say anything more, his lower lip was suddenly pressed gently.

Rong Xu softly held the other’s lips, his voice a little blurred: “Then feel it again… be good, open your mouth…”

Only when Chi Han’s face and lips had turned a rosy red was he released again.

Having been single all his life for two lifetimes, this time the impact was really quite strong. He hadn’t even recovered by the time he got out of bed to wash up.

Rong Xu finished washing up first, then, after ordering breakfast, walked straight behind Chi Han, gently wrapping his arms around his waist and planting a kiss behind his ear.

Chi Han instinctively turned his head away slightly.

So ticklish.

“You won’t leave again after coming back this time, right?” Chi Han spat out the foam in his mouth and rinsed.

“Just one last training cycle left. I have to go back a bit later. This time I came out early,” Rong Xu said, seeing the spot he kissed start to flush red; his eyes darkened slightly as he pressed a fingertip there.

“So, does that mean you’ll leave again in a few days?” Chi Han hadn’t expected that answer, staring at Rong Xu in the mirror, his chest tightening.

“Yeah, I’ll take you with me during your winter break, and we can go out and have some fun,” Rong Xu soothed, rubbing his back softly and speaking low, “Do you want to go?”

“Of course I want to go!” Chi Han blurted out instinctively. When he caught the smile hidden in Rong Xu’s eyes, he first felt embarrassed, then relaxed.

What’s there to be ashamed of? If Rong Xu hadn’t stopped him, he’d have followed long ago!

“I should have gone with you then. We wouldn’t have been apart so long. Even if… even if it didn’t end well, I would’ve stayed with you the whole time,” Chi Han said, lowering his gaze with a side glance.

Just the thought of Rong Xu spending a whole year alone in such a distant place made Chi Han ache with worry.

The smile on Rong Xu’s face faltered for a moment, then the next instant, he wrapped his arms around Chi Han from behind, their cheeks pressed close together.

“I know you’ll stay with me, but I don’t want to let you down. I can’t bear it.”

Sometimes, the crushing disappointment after hope is enough to drive someone crazy. Rong Xu would rather bear it all alone than let Chi Han taste even a trace of it.

Chi Han quietly leaned back against him, saying nothing more.

Chi Han’s class this morning started at nine-thirty. After breakfast and a bit of affectionate time together, they headed to school.

Sitting in the car, he finally had a chance to check his phone.

His WeChat and QQ were bombarded by messages from his roommates.

Without exception, they all suspected he had been kidnapped. Yin Hao was even worse. He ended up sending a voice message asking if Chi Han had been tricked into a pyramid scheme.

Chi Han helplessly shook his head and replied to each message one by one.

Only then did the roommates finally relax.

Yin Hao: [Top scorer, are you up yet? Hurry! The best feng shui spot right in the middle of Room 609 is waiting for you!]

Chi Han laughed out loud, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

Chi Han: [Got it, I’m riding my horse over now. Save me two seats.]

Rong Xu caught the expression on Chi Han’s face from the corner of his eye and subtly frowned, then asked casually, “Who are you chatting with that makes you so happy?”

Chi Han turned his head, still smiling. He put away his phone and said, “Huh? Oh, just with my roommate. He saved me a seat, so I told him to save one more.”

Being able to sit close to Chi Han, Rong Xu’s expression cleared a bit.

He took the wheel and parked the car near the school.

In Classroom 609.

Yin Hao’s eyes widened when he got the message. He tapped Li Lei, who was sitting in front of him. Even though he purposely lowered his voice, the excitement was easy to hear in his tone:

“Hey! Xiao Leizi, Chi Han said he’s bringing someone to class with him! I suspect something’s going on!”

Li Lei pushed up his glasses without looking up: “Hmm, tell me when he brings some non-human creature, then I’ll listen.”

Yin Hao: “……”

Forget it, he wasn’t going to argue with a study maniac.

Yin Hao poked another roommate, Chen Chen, sitting diagonally across: “A-Chen, did you hear me?”

Chen Chen furiously tapped his phone screen, his mouth like it had springs inside: “Heard it, heard it! Push the tower, push the tower, push the tower!!”

Yin Hao: “…………”

Life is really tough.

It wasn’t until a few minutes before class started that Chi Han came in through the back door. He quickly scanned the seats and hurriedly pulled Rong Xu to take their places.

“Yin Hao, can I borrow your anatomy book for this class?”

Chi Han grabbed a pen from Chen Chen’s desk and casually took the thick book blocking Yin Hao’s phone.

“Hey! Does that mean I don’t study? I’m also a budding flower of the motherland!”

Chi Han flipped open the book without looking at him: “I’ll highlight the key points for you after class.”

Yin Hao immediately grovelled, handing over a red pen, lowering his head: “Got it, thanks for the favor, big boss!”

As he lowered his head, something caught his eye. Chi Han’s left hand was tightly holding another person’s hand.

Their fingers were interlaced, intimately close.

But if he wasn’t mistaken, that hand’s length didn’t look like it belonged to a girl…

Yin Hao slowly looked up and met an extremely cold gaze.

He shivered all over, as if someone had poured a bucket of ice water on him in the freezing cold.

Rong Xu’s sharp eyes lifted at the corners. He hadn’t done anything but somehow gave off a strong territorial vibe.

His thumb brushed over Chi Han’s hand back, his gaze icy and indifferent.

Yin Hao: “………”

Not even a day apart, what kind of Buddha-level warrior did his roommate bring back? So fierce?!

Could fragile Chi Han even handle it?

While Yin Hao was still mentally shaken, Chi Han accidentally knocked his pen off. He reflexively reached to pick it up, but Rong Xu bent down and gently placed the pen beside his hand, his movements impossibly tender.

Yin Hao numbly stared at this suddenly softened but still fierce godlike figure, his expression cracking into a smile.

Ah, this…

He decided to bring some other guys over to shark together!
