SDVPP Chapter 70

Unique location

Leaning against Rong Xu on the swing while holding the cat, they spent an uninterrupted afternoon together.

Chi Han wished time could stay frozen at this moment.

He yawned, then slowly followed Rong Xu along the small path outside the garden. The last bit of the setting sun’s afterglow shone on them, stretching their shadows long.

Time was peaceful and good.

Suddenly, the phrase popped into Chi Han’s mind. He shook his head and couldn’t help but smile.

Every day from now on will only get better.

After having dinner outside, the two returned to the suite. Chi Han lay on the bed, scrolling through his phone for a while.

In his Moments feed, Yin Hao posted: “What can save you, my calculus.”

The accompanying picture showed Chi Han’s empty, unoccupied bunk.

Chi Han: “……”

He immediately opened Yin Hao’s WeChat and sent a question mark.

Yin Hao quickly replied: [Do you still remember Yin Ziwei by Daming Lake?]

Chi Han: [… What are you trying to do?]

Yin Hao sent a begging emoji, then after some hesitation replied: [There’s a problem I can’t solve, it’s stuck me for two hours.]

Chi Han: [Send it over.]

Yin Hao: [image.jpg]

Yin Hao: [Good person, may your life be peaceful. May you always have toilet paper when you go!]

Chi Han reached his limit and told him to scram quickly.

Five minutes later, Chi Han sent over the answer and got up to go to the bathroom.

His phone was left on the bed. Rong Xu didn’t have the habit of snooping on others’ privacy. Although he wanted to have everything about Chi Han, that didn’t mean Chi Han had to lay all his privacy open in front of him.

“Buzz, buzz.”

The phone vibrated repeatedly, the screen lighting up.

Rong Xu’s eyes instinctively glanced over. With his excellent eyesight, he immediately saw the glaring, almost piercing “momo da” message.

The air pressure around Rong Xu instantly dropped below zero: “…”

He picked up the phone. Some reckless person was still sending message after message, one after another.

Rong Xu’s expression was blank, and the contract in his hand crumpled under his grip.

If the assistant were here now, he’d probably shed a tear of sympathy for the other side.

Even when the other party once unilaterally tore up the contract, his boss had never shown this look.

A fierce anger hid in Rong Xu’s eyes. As if possessed, he placed his fingertip on the phone’s fingerprint unlock. To his shock, Chi Han’s phone actually unlocked.

Like he had suddenly realized something, Rong Xu looked up toward the bathroom, his chest burning.

Before he could process the emotion, the phone in his palm vibrated again.

Rong Xu closed his eyes. The warmth and tenderness from before completely shifted to the opposite extreme, so much so that even Yin Hao on the other side of the screen sensed a chill.

He swallowed nervously, cautiously sending a message: [Chi Han… are you there?]

The always silent person on the other side finally replied, but before Yin Hao could feel happy, those four words scared him almost out of his soul.

[I am Rong Xu.]

For the first time, Yin Hao realized that even a self-introduction could carry a killing intent.

His hand trembled as he scrolled up through the chat history and found that all the messages he had sent were flashy, showy emojis.

Yin Hao rolled his eyes, feeling he was just a step away from dying on the spot.

He hurriedly withdrew what he could retract, then sent three consecutive emojis of kneeling in apology to express his deep regret at that moment.

Yin Hao: [Sorry, sorry, I was joking!!! Please don’t be mad at Chi Han!]

Rong Xu’s face showed no surprise; he knew Yin Hao and Chi Han were good friends, but speaking so carelessly deserved a lesson: [I won’t be mad at him, but you’re not allowed to send him those kinds of pictures again.]

Yin Hao immediately replied: [Yes, yes, yes! I won’t send them anymore!]

Rubbing his hands together, Yin Hao felt a bit guilty. Since they just got together, if a rift appeared because of him, that would be a huge offense!

He touched his chin, having a sudden idea: [How about… I share some photos and videos of Chi Han when he started college? If he’s already sent them to you, just forget I said anything.]

Rong Xu’s eyes, originally holding crushed ice, moved slightly, then after a moment, he replied modestly:

[Okay.]

“So, you two started sharing my photos on my WeChat?” Chi Han said in disbelief, holding his phone and looking at Rong Xu, who was sitting on the bed, outwardly calm but actually sitting very straight. “And even saved them??”

Rong Xu guiltily averted his gaze and slipped the phone that had Yin Hao’s WeChat contact saved into the pocket of his pajamas.

Yin Hao hadn’t sent anything weird—just photos and videos from when Chi Han gave a speech at the school’s opening ceremony or participated in debate competitions. Those things were even on the university’s official website, nothing secret.

What surprised him was that Rong Xu could be this… cute. It was rare, honestly, kind of endearing.

Chi Han sat down, suddenly feeling playful.

He coughed, pretending to be stern. “Why did you ask Yin Hao for my photos? And you saved them, too? Did I say you could?”

Rong Xu’s eyes flickered in panic, his thin lips pressing into a line. All the joy from earlier vanished in an instant. His dark eyes stared directly at Chi Han, as if afraid to see disappointment or any other emotion in them. After a moment, he forced a smile and said quietly, “I was wrong. I’ll delete him right now.”

Chi Han’s heart immediately ached. He silently scolded himself. What was he doing scaring Rong Xu just for fun?

“No…” Chi Han tossed aside his phone, raised his arms, and pulled Rong Xu into a hug, gently rubbing against the other’s slightly pale lips with affection. “I was teasing you. If you want my photos, just ask me directly. No need to go through Yin Hao.”

Chi Han pushed him down, his lower leg brushing against the warm, firm side of Rong Xu’s waist, gently rubbing against it. In a voice barely above a breath, he whispered in Rong Xu’s ear, “Come to me… for photos no one else can take.”

Rong Xu’s lower abdomen tensed. He wrapped his arms tightly around Chi Han’s waist, locking him firmly in his embrace.

His hot breath brushed against Chi Han’s cheek. A few seconds later, he said, “Your phone unlocks with my fingerprint.”

Chi Han froze, feeling inexplicably embarrassed.

That was something he’d secretly done in the middle of the night, quietly holding Rong Xu’s hand while he slept to register the fingerprint.

“Actually…” Chi Han took a deep breath, the tips of his ears reddening. He picked up his phone, opened the emergency contacts, and turned the screen toward Rong Xu, speaking softly, “You’ve always been set as my emergency contact.”

Back when Rong Xu left, Chi Han had a dream—a dream where everything here had been nothing more than a fleeting illusion. When he woke up, he was just another ordinary reader among thousands of fans in the comment section, and Rong Xu was still the tragic antagonist in the story, forced to exit the stage.

After jolting awake, he set Rong Xu as his emergency contact. At the time, he thought that if one day he were to suddenly disappear, at least Rong Xu wouldn’t have to wait too long to find out.

Maybe, they could even have one final conversation.

Chi Han leaned in close to Rong Xu, his voice hoarse. He rested his head on Rong Xu’s shoulder, the two of them holding each other so tightly there was no space left between them: “I saw online that an emergency contact is supposed to be the person you’re closest to, the strongest bond, the one you trust the most. Back then, I thought—this place, it can only be yours.”

Rong Xu’s fingertips trembled. He buried his head into the crook of Chi Han’s neck, and with his lips, over and over again—devoutly—he felt and confirmed the world that belonged to him.
