SDVPP Chapter 97

Extra: Wedding

After what happened last time, the two of them decided to hold a simple wedding.

Of course, the “simple” part was at Chi Han’s request.

After all, if they went with Rong Xu’s idea, they would probably have to invite the entire city.

The wedding was Chinese-style, and they only invited a few close friends. As for relatives… well, forget it. Rong Xu had pretty much driven them all away by now.

When the school heard the news, they specially approved a month-long marriage leave for Chi Han. The night before the wedding, Yin Hao was still on the phone, sobbing to him, complaining that a perfectly good man was just going to throw himself into early marriage like this. Chi Han was so annoyed he wanted to reach through the screen and punch him.

To be honest, when it came to getting married, Chi Han never really had any concrete feelings about it. It wasn’t until that morning, when he put on the wedding robe and saw the deep red decorations filling every corner of his sight, that a thought suddenly sprang up in his mind.

He was getting married!

On the night before the wedding, the two of them couldn’t stay together. That morning, Chi Han left from the villa he had rented before. The butler had already packed up everything they would need and hadn’t slept a wink the night before the wedding.

After all, the family’s two young masters were finally about to complete the most important step of their lives. As someone who had witnessed it all along the way, the butler couldn’t help feeling a bit emotional.

Both of them were wearing men’s wedding robes, similar to the long gowns from the Republican era.

Chi Han was already pale to begin with, and once he put on that bright red wedding robe, he looked even fairer and cleaner.

He had been dragged up at three in the morning to get dressed and styled. He originally thought that since he didn’t have to put on makeup or wear a phoenix crown, it would be much simpler. But in the end, there were so many pre-wedding rituals that he had no idea how long it took before it was finally done.

As the sound of lively cheers rose from outside the door, Chi Han instinctively started to feel nervous.

Rong Xu had arrived.

Surrounded by the crowd, Rong Xu strode forward in the same style of long gown wedding robe. The hair on his forehead was brushed up, revealing those ink-black eyes of his, which at this moment were filled with glimmers like starlight.

Song Yao gave a domineering wave of her hand and slammed the door shut with a bang, smiling as she said, “Rong Xu, if you don’t hand over red envelopes, don’t even think about coming in!”

Chi Han: “…Pfft.”

He had seen weddings before, but he had never imagined this scene would happen to Rong Xu. Somehow, it was just ridiculously funny.

Song Yao raised her eyebrows at Geng Xue, signaling her to collect the red envelopes through the crack in the door.

A few seconds later, the first red envelope was stuffed through the gap. Geng Xue grabbed it in an instant and opened it excitedly.

This was a wedding red envelope from the big boss Rong Xu himself. Even if there was only one yuan inside, she’d still—

The next moment, Geng Xue’s expression froze on her face. What she pulled out wasn’t money, but a check. The number of zeros on it was more than she could count on one hand.

Right after that, the second, third, and fourth red envelopes started getting stuffed through all the cracks around the door, each one containing a check, each one for an absurd amount.

By the end, Geng Xue was completely numb.

All those lines they had memorized for tugging back and forth with the groom to extort red envelopes were completely useless. Song Yao was so mad that her cheeks flushed red. She yanked the door open, only to see Yin Hao and the other two dorm mates of Chi Han bent over, still shoving more red envelopes through the door.

And judging by the stack of envelopes in their hands, they weren’t even a third of the way through.

Song Yao: “…”

Geng Xue: “…”

Damn it, filthy rich to the point of being inhuman!

Chi Han was lying on the bed, almost dying of laughter, but he couldn’t move at all.

Rong Xu spotted the person on the bed, smiling so brightly. In that instant, his expression softened completely.

“Chi Han, I’m here to take you home.”

“Hey, hold on! You can leave if you want, but find the shoes first.” Song Yao never forgot her mission. With her hands on her hips, she reminded him sternly.

Rong Xu lifted his eyes and glanced at her, then stepped slowly into the room to start looking for the shoes. Yin Hao and the others were already itching to get involved. When they saw Rong Xu go in, they immediately scrambled in after him.

The assistant, who was the brainy type, stood at the door, rubbing his chin and thinking hard.

The room wasn’t big. Very quickly, Yin Hao found one shoe hidden in a box disguised as a book, but the other one took twenty minutes and still wasn’t found.

For the first time, Rong Xu’s expression turned serious.

Yin Hao scooted to the side of the bed and whined, “Chi Han, give us a hint, will you? We really can’t find it.”

Chi Han turned his head and glanced at Rong Xu, only to find those ink-dark eyes looking back at him. He couldn’t help but laugh and said, “Alright, the shoe is inside Rong Xu’s favorite thing.”

Yin Hao looked at Rong Xu expectantly, urging him, “Come on, what’s your favorite thing?”

Rong Xu frowned slightly, then suddenly seemed to think of something. He walked over to the bed and picked up the Totoro plush sitting next to Chi Han.

At some point, a hidden zipper had been sewn into Totoro’s tail. Rong Xu unzipped it and reached in. Right away, he felt the shoe.

Song Yao stomped her foot angrily on the side. “Cheating! You’re all cheating! Chi Han, you little accomplice!”

Yin Hao snickered. “What accomplice? He’s family!”

Rong Xu picked up the shoe, held Chi Han’s ankle, and with a firm motion slipped it on. The bridegroom couldn’t let his feet touch the ground, so Rong Xu slid an arm under his knees and lifted him steadily into his arms.

Chi Han turned his head and leaned it against Rong Xu’s chest. The golden threads on the long gown scratched a little, but he didn’t want to lift his head at all.

After today, the two of them would be tied together in this world.

A bond that couldn’t be severed for a lifetime.

At the official wedding banquet, the seats were filled with guests and friends. All those who had once thought Rong Xu was too cold and distant to mess with now crowded around him with glasses raised.

And Rong Xu accepted every single one of them.

Watching from the side, Chi Han grew anxious and reached out, wanting to share some of the burden. But no matter how flushed Rong Xu’s eyes and cheeks turned from the alcohol, he never forgot to block the drinks for Chi Han.

“Chi Han can’t handle alcohol. I’ll drink for him.”

Hearing this, everyone laughed good-naturedly.

Two hours later, Rong Xu was finally drunk.

Chi Han realized it only when Rong Xu’s steps wobbled as he went down the stairs.

“Hey, hey, watch your step, slow down, the door’s this way!” Chi Han braced himself under Rong Xu’s weight, helping him step by step into the room. Normally, he didn’t notice, but now he realized just how heavy Rong Xu was when his whole body leaned on him.

It took quite an effort to get him onto the bed. Chi Han, worried he might throw up, didn’t bother taking him to the shower. Instead, he wrung out a towel and carefully wiped his face and body clean, then changed him into pajamas.

The whole time, Rong Xu was well-behaved, half-reclining against the headboard with a smile that tugged at Chi Han’s heart.

Chi Han couldn’t help but pinch Rong Xu’s cheek and kiss those thin lips that still carried the scent of alcohol.

“How come you’re so cute when you’re drunk?”

Taking advantage of Rong Xu being too drunk to do anything, Chi Han let himself run wild with teasing.

He reached out and rubbed Rong Xu’s chest. After making sure he wasn’t feeling uncomfortable, he boldly lifted the hem of Rong Xu’s clothes and slipped his hand inside.

Usually, he never even got the chance. Most of the time, before he could get his hand in, Rong Xu would have him pinned down already.

Tonight, he finally caught an opportunity and was determined to make up for it.

Rong Xu was ticklish and kept leaning back to escape, but the smile on his face never faded, making him look thoroughly drunk and helpless.

Some people, when they’re drunk, sing, curse, or dance. Rong Xu just kept smiling.

And that smile was dangerously seductive.

Chi Han clung to Rong Xu, tilting his head up to bite gently on his earlobe and refusing to let go. He blew a teasing breath and deliberately said, “Rong Xu, we’re married now, so from now on I’ll have to call you husband.”

Rong Xu suddenly shuddered, and a glimmer of something different flashed in his eyes.

Chi Han didn’t realize the danger that was about to come. He was still laughing recklessly, calling out, “Husband, husband, husband… hahaha…”

It wasn’t until his shoulder pressed against the cool, bright red wedding bedsheet and a button popped off the collar of his pajama top that Chi Han finally sensed something was wrong.

Wait a second, this wasn’t how it was supposed to go. Wasn’t Rong Xu too drunk to do anything?!

Rong Xu’s dark eyes locked tightly onto Chi Han, the haze of alcohol stripping away any ability to hide what he really wanted.

“Keep calling me.”

Just as Chi Han was flipped over, he vaguely heard these words. Then he felt his pajama top sacrifice itself to the situation.

An hour later, Rong Xu all but forced Chi Han into the long robe wedding outfit—of course, only the robe, no pants. He yanked him firmly onto his lap, hands gripping Chi Han’s waist on both sides, his voice hoarse beyond belief:

“Keep going.”

Until this night, Chi Han had always thought seven times in one night was just an urban legend. Only now did he finally realize one thing—

So Rong Xu had actually been holding back this whole time???

And so, the next day, Rong Xu received his first wedding gift—an extra-thick copy of The Heart Sutra.

Meanwhile, the assistant got his Nth salary raise in his career.

Everyone was delighted.
