Inside his mecha, Fars slowly raised his head, looking at the attacking mechas in the distance. A slight smile appeared on his lips as he reached out into the air…
“My Lords, I’m coming…”
Memories of his memorable experiences from birth to death flashed through Fars’s mind.
“Sir! I am your guard!” The newly graduated Fars stood confidently before the man. The man had short golden hair and wore gold-rimmed glasses with distinct frames. He was a very handsome and serious-looking man.
This was his first time meeting Lucien, the superior he would follow for life.
The man calmly adjusted his glasses, gave him just a glance, and nodded slightly.
…
“Sir! You can’t go on like this! Several officials have already been assassinated!”
“Oh? Because they want to kill me, I should agree?” The golden-haired man raised an eyebrow, his expression stern. “If we all fear opposition, fear being killed, then who will fight for them?
“Do you know what will happen to North Mali once these robots enter? Everyone except the capitalists will lose their jobs, and with this agreement they signed, the tax exemptions mean the government won’t have money to support the unemployed.
“So what should they do?
“Look outside, look at them. Anyone could be part of those who get abandoned. Who do you want to see abandoned?”
Young Fars shook his head vigorously. “No, I don’t want anyone to be abandoned.”
“That’s why I must stand up and oppose this. If even I give in, they’re truly finished.” Lucien shook his head helplessly, saying with a bitter smile, “I will never betray them!”
…
“Bang!”
A gunshot.
So much blood.
Fars endured the pain and carried Lucien away from the scene. Luckily, the assassins didn’t find them.
“Sir, do you still want to continue?” Fars hadn’t recovered from the assassination attempt. This wasn’t the first time the capitalists tried to kill Lucien, and the previous two attempts had failed.
“Of course!” The man’s answer was resolute.
…
“Of course.”
The man he followed had upheld his answer with his life.
Lucien died, and so did his Alpha sons. All his Alpha sons died. When Lucien’s youngest son died, Fars sighed.
Sir had ultimately failed, killed by assassins. His sons were murdered, and even his Omega husband was killed by assassins hired by those capitalists. The entire family was left with just one Omega girl. Perhaps because she posed no threat, they didn’t completely wipe out the family.
In the end, the proposal to introduce fully intelligent robots and develop jump points passed. Ironically, their new president was thoroughly handpicked by that group of capitalists.
Watching their victory, Fars felt completely disheartened and decided to leave the country. But nine-year-old Selena grabbed his hand, looked up at him, and asked very seriously, “Uncle Fars, was what my father did right?”
Fars answered without hesitation, “Of course! He was a good person who truly cared about the people.”
“Watch me, Uncle Fars! I will definitely fulfill my father’s dying wish. Will you help me like you helped my father?”
Fars: “…”
…
The question he couldn’t answer back then finally had an answer today—of course.
I hope my little moon[mfn]Selena means moon so he calls her little moon[/mfn] is safe.
Inside the mecha, Fars slowly closed his eyes.
At the same time, several mechas landed to check the situation. “Just an old geezer, tch—”
The mercenary inside the mecha said disdainfully to his companions, “These guys are really crazy, suddenly attacking North Mali!”
“Don’t underestimate them. A lot of people have died at their hands!”
While the two soldiers were chatting, a voice suddenly came through the communication channel, “Wait, let me look at that old guy’s face again!”
“What?” The mercenary was confused but complied.
Whispered discussions could be heard through the comm: ‘It’s him’ ‘Fars’ ‘No mistake, this bastard was still alive’ ‘Damn it, Lucien’s ghost just won’t rest’.
After a while, a voice came through: “Continue searching for people who escaped from the warship. Don’t leave anyone alive! Kill them all! One million star coins for each kill!”
“There must be quite a few who escaped from the warship, but there are also many people who were already hiding here. How can we tell them apart?” a mercenary grumbled to the man giving orders through the comm.
“Yeah, once they leave the warships and mechas and blend into the crowd, we can’t distinguish them…” someone agreed.
“Then kill them all! Damn it!” the man snapped.
One of the mercenaries said playfully, “We get paid for killing, whether they’re the right targets or not?”
Another voice came through: “Yes!”
After the communication cut off, one mercenary frowned deeply, “These capitalists are too ruthless, aren’t they? Even if many people escaped, there are at least a thousand civilians in this area…”
“Tch, who cares how ruthless they are! As long as we get paid!”
Just as the words came through the comm, a mecha suddenly shot out!
…
Alice and Aka, who were urgently contacting the command center, had also heard Fars’ earlier reassuring words over the communication channel. Their anxious hearts finally settled.
Aka paced back and forth in the room anxiously, then suddenly slammed the table. “No, this won’t do. The explosion site is very close to us. I’m going to check it out!”
Alice didn’t stop him but said, “I’m going with you!”
“No, you stay here. I’ll go alone. That place could explode at any time. After we win, the two children will still need you!” Aka said in a low voice.
Alice shook her head and said firmly, “We’ll go together! I hate waiting. I’m sick of it!”
Aka glanced at Alice and nodded at her, taking weapons from a cabinet in the room and handing a laser gun to Alice.
“Let’s go! We’ll go together!”
“Yes!”
The two opened the door at the back of the factory, where a small warship sat. Although part of it was damaged, it was still functional.
“Let’s go check out the explosion site… I hope everything’s okay.”
“For justice!”
“For justice!”
They exchanged smiles after saying their final words.
The warship started silently, and Alice looked back.
“What’s wrong?” Aka asked Alice.
“Not sure, I just had an auditory hallucination. I thought I heard Envy’s voice…”
Aka raised an eyebrow and glanced toward the corner.
In the corner, Envy tightly covered his mouth, his emotions in turmoil. He had been worried seeing his mother so anxious earlier, so after asking his sister Nina to find Jiang Yuan, he wanted to find his mother, but he didn’t dare go upstairs… because the upper floor was off-limits to him and Nina. Mom wouldn’t let them up there.
When he saw Mom and Uncle Aka come down, he followed them without thinking. He was just worried about his mother… but he never expected to hear what his mother and Uncle Aka said.
Why were Mom and Uncle going to the explosion site?
What did ‘For justice’ mean?
While lost in these thoughts, suddenly a shadow loomed over him.
“Envy, what did you hear?” Aka asked the small boy, frowning.
Envy looked up, “I… I…”
Aka sighed, “Never mind what you heard, don’t tell anyone. Your mom and I have important things to do. Stay here with your sister and wait for us to return. There’s food in that room, enough for several days. Do you remember the door password?”
Envy nodded.
“Good boy,” Aka patted Envy’s head, “Take good care of your sister and wait for us to come back.”
Envy peeked out to see his usually gentle mother still smiling softly at him, saying in a tender voice, “Go on.”
“Mom… can you not go?”
Alice shook her head. Although her expression remained gentle, her eyes held unwavering determination. This decision was final.
“I’ll take good care of my little sister while waiting for you to come back!”
After they left, Envy watched the warship shrink into a black dot in the distance. He clasped his hands together, praying that whatever Mom and Uncle Aka were doing, they would return safely!
But it was dangerous out there. Would Mom really be able to come back safely?
Envy couldn’t help but worry.
After some thought, he spun around and ran toward where the others were in the factory.
“Where did you run off to?” Jiang Yuan rapped his knuckles lightly on Envy’s forehead.
“I… I went to the bathroom,” Envy explained.
But the kid obviously wasn’t good at lying. He couldn’t meet Jiang Yuan’s eyes, and his ears had turned bright red.
Although Jiang Yuan knew Envy was lying, he didn’t call him out on it. It wasn’t hard to guess that the little brat had run off to find his mom.
Earlier, when Aka and Alice suddenly panicked, it hadn’t just frightened the two children. All the adults and kids with them started panicking too, thinking the war had spread to their area and the slums weren’t safe anymore.
“Listen, your mom asked us to look after you before she left. If you need to go anywhere, tell me first, okay?” Jiang Yuan said, looking at Envy.
Envy nodded. “I understand!”
Jiang Yuan gave the kid another look and nodded in satisfaction.
…
BOOM!
BOOM!
Explosions rang out one after another.
Near the North Rio slums, a massive black battleship had leveled the entire ground. Around a dozen mechas weren’t flying but had landed to scan for survivors using thermal detectors.
BANG!
When a red human-shaped shadow appeared on the thermal scope, a gunshot rang out just as one of the men spotted it.
The man in the mecha angrily slapped his control panel and cursed, “Damn it, you bastards, I saw that one first!”
“Hey, whoever kills them gets the credit. Shut up, you son of a bitch!”
…
The woman held a gun, unharmed.
Selena got lucky. Although her mecha was also torn apart by explosion debris, only the lower half was destroyed. The safety pod inside the mech had protected her, and the impact from the crash had only left her with minor injuries.
She tried to contact her people, but all her communication devices were gone, and the mecha’s comm system was broken too.

…………Why does what Mali was experienced sound familiar?
Oh, right. That’s happened to my country. Except, the goverment officials in my country full of corruptors, so instead rejecting and defending the country from the capitalists, they took their money and sold the country bit by bit. Maybe that’s why my country still rather peaceful. Too much unemployment and poverty though.
Yeah that capitalist is really deserved to die. I really hate how innocent people live got involved tho. If only there’s a way to kill those capitalist bastard without innocent sacrifice.
