Jiang Yuan had just stepped out of the restroom when he ran into a group of about thirty people, all wearing Second Military Academy uniforms. Before they even got close, Jiang Yuan could smell the alcohol on them. They’d clearly been drinking quite a bit.
Just as Jiang Yuan was about to head back to the private room, someone blocked his path.
“Oh, isn’t this YUAN, the champion from the mecha competition?”
“It really is—”
Jiang Yuan didn’t pay much attention and tried to go around the person blocking his way, but the drunk guy stepped in front of him again.
“Hey—”
The unpleasant smell of alcohol hit his face. The man blocking Jiang Yuan’s path had a red face and drunkenly grinned, “I heard… heard you’re not a Beta, but an Omega? Is that true?”
“Everyone online says you’re an Omega, but I don’t see it. You don’t look like an Omega at all… hahaha…”
…
Li Wenfeng retreated further into the crowd, but then he caught himself. Why was he hiding?
Jiang Yuan probably wouldn’t recognize him anyway. After all, he’d only been killed by him in the game. The other party had never seen his face, and Mu An wouldn’t be bored enough to specifically show Jiang Yuan his photo.
His group of classmates were all from Second Military Academy. Relations between Second and First Military Academy weren’t good, mainly due to jealousy. Today was one of their senior’s birthday, and the group had come out for dinner. They’d planned to go singing afterward, but then they ran into Jiang Yuan.
He actually wanted to walk away. After all, he’d cheated on Mu An. Even if his classmates knew about it, forget those he wasn’t close to, even his good friends would probably look down on him inside, even if they didn’t say it out loud.
But his seniors obviously didn’t think the same way. They wouldn’t leave after seeing someone from First Military Academy.
As they talked, one of the drunk guys tried to push his shoulder, but Jiang Yuan blocked his hand.
Seeing the other person was drunk, Jiang Yuan ignored him and tried to leave, but heard the drunk continue.
“No matter… no matter how I look at you, you don’t seem like an Omega… but you are pretty good-looking.”
The Second Military Academy student reached out to touch Jiang Yuan’s face. This time, Jiang Yuan didn’t show any courtesy. He knocked away the man’s hand, frowning in displeasure.
The student who got hit didn’t get angry, but continued, “An Omega should act like an Omega. I think you should quit school early, to avoid accidents. After all, First Military Academy is full of Alphas.”
“If you ask me, Omegas should stay at home. What are they doing out here? There have been several incidents recently of Omegas going into heat in public places and causing riots…”
The student’s tone was full of mockery, clearly suggesting that as an Omega, Jiang Yuan shouldn’t be attending military academy or becoming a soldier.
Drunk people say nasty things, and even his companions couldn’t help but frown. Who among them didn’t have a partner? It had been many years since the reforms, and Omegas had been part of society outside the home for a long time. But undeniably, there were still some extremist Alphas who believed Omegas shouldn’t go out.
“Why are you leaving? Listen to my advice. Wouldn’t it be better to go home? Aren’t you afraid that one day your pheromones will leak at military school, and you’ll get gang—”
Li Wenfeng heard his senior’s words and immediately frowned. He reached out to pull at the Second Military Academy student, just managing to call out “Chao-ge” when there was a dull thud, and “Chao-ge” went flying sideways.
A piercing scream rang out in the hallway.
Then the person who had kicked him cursed fiercely, “Go fuck yourself!”
The Second Military Academy students didn’t react at first, until they heard their companion’s painful groans and finally moved to check his injuries.
Jiang Yuan was also stunned, looking at the person standing in front of him.
Although he couldn’t see the man’s expression, Jiang Yuan could vaguely sense the anger radiating from the man protecting him.
Li Wenfeng helped check the injuries, pulling back the beaten person’s clothes, and felt a chill down his spine.
Damn, that kick was brutal. Three ribs were broken!
Everyone had instinctively moved to check the injuries, but once they realized their companion had been attacked, the Second Military Academy students charged forward. One of them swung a fist at Ji Rong.
Ji Rong didn’t dodge. He grabbed the student’s arm and used the momentum to throw him aside. There was a crack, and the student collapsed to the ground clutching his arm, letting out a piercing scream.
Jiang Yuan snapped out of his shock. Seeing someone trying to attack Ji Rong, he rushed at one of them, caught their incoming punch with one hand while his other fist slammed into their stomach. That person immediately crumpled to the ground.
In just a moment, Ji Rong had taken down three or four people.
Many of the Second Military Academy students further back hadn’t even processed what was happening yet. Seeing several of their companions fall, they finally swarmed toward Jiang Yuan and Ji Rong.
Ji Rong was fierce now, stepping forward and bending down in one motion. His fist struck a student’s abdomen, sending them flying, followed by the sound of shattering glass.
In a flash, all their attackers had been taken down. The remaining people had wanted to fight, but seeing how powerful the two were, they froze in place.
“Still want to fight?” Ji Rong threw aside the last person who’d lunged at him and raised an eyebrow at those behind, asking with obvious displeasure.
The hallway suddenly went quiet, with only the groans of pain from those on the ground.
Li Wenfeng hadn’t expected it either. Over ten of them had rushed in, and in moments they were all on the ground. He was still hesitating whether to join his companions…
Damn, forget fighting!
These two were way too strong!
Li Wenfeng held the others back. No one else seemed eager to fight either. After checking on their companions, Li Wenfeng stepped forward with a grim expression and said to Ji Rong in a low voice, “You went too far!”
Everyone Ji Rong had taken down either had broken arms or legs.
Not only did the Second Military Academy students think it was excessive, even Jiang Yuan felt Ji Rong had been too brutal.
“What, got a problem? Want another round?” Ji Rong’s mouth curved into a cold smile.
“You… you went too far. It was just a few words. Did you need to be so vicious?” one of the Second Military Academy students asked through gritted teeth after looking at his companions’ conditions.
Ji Rong was truly angry. He came looking when Jiang Yuan hadn’t returned, and had heard what these bastards were saying. Not killing them showed remarkable restraint on his part!
Seeing Ji Rong about to attack again, Jiang Yuan quickly grabbed his wrist. “Stop fighting!”
Ji Rong’s hand was trembling with anger. Jiang Yuan knew Ji Rong was furious about what they’d said about him, but they were out dining with Ji Rong’s two fathers today, and he didn’t want to make a bigger scene.
The restaurant manager arrived after checking the security footage. “What’s going on with you kids? Why are you all so worked up?”
The manager was furious, but he wasn’t concerned about the broken glass in the restaurant. He immediately started scolding everyone present.
When no one argued back, he felt slightly relieved. However, as he turned around, he noticed the student who had been the most violent in the security footage staring at him expressionlessly. His heart clenched involuntarily, and he couldn’t help but swallow nervously.
Ji Rong remained silent because Jiang Yuan was holding him back. The Second Military Academy students stayed quiet because they knew they shared responsibility for the incident, so they accepted the scolding without protest.
Although it was a reprimand, the restaurant staff preferred to avoid further trouble. They suggested that Jiang Yuan and Ji Rong just pay for the medical expenses and property damage to settle the matter.
But the Second Military Academy students weren’t satisfied with this. Although treating broken bones was simple nowadays, the excruciating pain of the fracture couldn’t be dismissed so easily.
“Pay for damages? Who cares about the money? You need to give us an explanation!” one person shouted at Ji Rong.
“Stop arguing, everyone take a step back. You’re just kids, why are you so hot-headed?” The manager wiped the sweat from his forehead as he spoke softly.
Li Wenfeng didn’t know what to do. He didn’t want to escalate the situation, but clearly, his classmates didn’t share his view. They were acting on emotion, believing this matter couldn’t end so simply.
“What’s going on here?” Just as the manager was sweating profusely, unsure how to handle the situation, a voice suddenly came from the side, asking with curiosity.
Jiang Yuan turned his head toward the speaker. Although he had only caught a glimpse earlier, he was certain this person was one of the two who had arrived with Ji Rong’s Omega father.
Silik had been assigned to protect Emperor Horace. Following Ji Chong’s arrangements, he had taken a private room directly opposite theirs, keeping the door open to stand guard. Noticing that Ji Rong and Jiang Yuan had been gone for a long time, and hearing the commotion, he came to investigate.
“Ji Rong, your father is still waiting for you in the private room,” Silik said upon spotting Jiang Yuan and Ji Rong in the crowd. “Why are you still here?”
Li Wenfeng was slightly taken aback. From what was said, Ji Rong’s father was also in the restaurant. Resolving this through the military academy would be inconvenient, but dealing with parents would be much simpler. Clearly, he wasn’t the only one who thought this way. The other students’ eyes lit up.
“Hah, where do you think you’re going? You break someone’s limbs and think you can just walk away?” A student stepped forward. “Since his dad’s here, let him come out!”
Silik paused at these words and turned to Ji Rong and Jiang Yuan. “What happened?”
Before Ji Rong and Jiang Yuan could answer, the restaurant manager immediately recounted what he’d seen in the security footage, thinking to himself: Having parents involved would be great. They wouldn’t need the restaurant to handle it!
Silik frowned slightly. “That won’t work. That person can’t come out here. If you have any demands, you can discuss them with me directly.”
“Hah, can’t come out? How arrogant! We won’t negotiate with you. We’ll only talk with his father. You can’t make decisions, so if he can’t come here, take us to him!”
“Stop wasting time, just take us there. This matter absolutely cannot end like this!”
“We demand an explanation!”
Silik didn’t want to bring these students over, but they wouldn’t let them leave. He had no choice but to call his colleague and briefly explain the situation.
After a short wait, a voice came through the communication device: “Bring them here.”
…
The group of students, supporting their companion with broken limbs, eagerly followed Silik toward the private room.
Jiang Yuan and Ji Rong walked behind the group, holding hands. Jiang Yuan spoke in a voice only the two of them could hear. “You were too impulsive earlier.”
“I couldn’t help it. Didn’t want to, either,” Ji Rong replied hoarsely.
“Mm…” Jiang Yuan felt warmth in his heart. “But I guess dinner is ruined now.”
When the Second Military Academy students followed Silik to the private room, they noticed another person similar to Silik standing nearby. They were slightly surprised. Needing two bodyguards to go out meant this person must indeed have status. But they weren’t afraid; they were all students from the Second Military Academy with their own backgrounds.
“Listen here, your son broke my classmates’ limbs without any provocation. How are you going to explain this?” one student pushed open the door, speaking arrogantly.
But when he pushed the door open and saw who was sitting inside, he froze on the spot.
“Why are you blocking the doorway? We haven’t gotten in yet,” a student behind him complained, pushing him.
That student shifted to the side, suddenly falling silent as well.
Li Wenfeng found this strange and pushed between the two to look. Inside the private room sat only two people. One was extremely good-looking, whom he didn’t recognize, but the other…
Li Wenfeng’s face changed dramatically as realization struck. He turned to look at Ji Rong in shock, thinking their group must have lost their minds!
Damn!
Ji Rong’s father was actually War God Ji Chong. They’d demanded to speak to a parent, and it turned out to be the War God?
What parent meeting was this?!
Whose stupid idea was this?!
Talk about embarrassing yourself in front of your idol!
The War God wouldn’t punish them over something like this, but Li Wenfeng felt he had no face to look at the person before him!
He’d imagined many ways he might meet the War God, but definitely not like this!
