A few days later—
At the Red Star Spaceport.
As soon as Jiang Yuan walked out of the spaceport, he heard someone calling his name loudly.
Just from the voice alone, Jiang Yuan knew it was his mother, Fang Shi.
Following the sound, he looked over to see his mother Fang Shi walking quickly towards him, her eyes curved like two crescent moons, with a smile in them as she said, “You’re darker than before.”
Fang Shi smiled gently, holding her son’s hand to look at him a bit longer, then said with slight dissatisfaction, “Weren’t you supposed to arrive at four? Why are you only arriving now?”
Seeing his mother’s concern, Jiang Yuan felt warmth in his heart and explained with a smile, “We encountered an asteroid field on the way back, which was caused by a recent comet impact. The passenger ship had to take a detour, which wasted some time.”
Fang Shi nodded, then looked at Ji Rong beside Jiang Yuan, “Thank you for accompanying Jiang Yuan home.”
“Not at all, I shamelessly tagged along with Jiang Yuan to Red Star. Sorry to impose on you and uncle,” Ji Rong said somewhat nervously.
Fang Shi chatted with them for a bit more, hearing about military school and the competition, feeling proud of her son.
Jiang Yuan had participated in the Interstellar Mecha Competition this year, and their Federation had won the championship, even beating the veteran Hoyt team!
The entire interstellar world now knew about her son!
They all knew that this universe wasn’t just about Alphas and Betas. There were Omegas stronger than Alphas!
There was no hierarchy between Alphas and Omegas!
Who would dare say Omegas weren’t capable now?
Thinking about this, Fang Shi couldn’t stop smiling. Her son had really slapped those arrogant Alphas in the face.
When they got home, Jiang Tianze hadn’t returned yet. Fang Shi went to cook herself, while Ji Rong and Jiang Yuan offered to help in the kitchen.
Seeing all the ingredients his mother had prepared in the kitchen, Jiang Yuan wrinkled his nose and said, “Mom, how many dishes are you planning to make? Can just four people finish all this?”
“Is it too much? I think it’s fine.”
Seeing his mother’s matter-of-fact expression, Jiang Yuan gave up and tried to help, but he and Ji Rong were soon kicked out of the kitchen by Fang Shi, who gave them a side-eye. “You two are just getting in the way!”
After a while, Jiang Tianze returned home.
He had known his son and Ji Rong would be coming home today. If it hadn’t been difficult to get leave from the military department, Jiang Tianze would have gone to the spaceport with his wife to pick up the two kids.
The four sat down for dinner.
“Stay home and keep your mother company for a while this time,” Jiang Tianze said. “Your mom has missed you a lot.”
“I understand, Dad,” Jiang Yuan said.
“Hmph, you talk as if I’m the only one who missed our son. I wonder who was tossing and turning all night yesterday and couldn’t sleep?” Fang Shi shot Jiang Tianze an annoyed glare.
Caught out by Fang Shi, Jiang Tianze looked somewhat embarrassed and explained glumly, “That wasn’t because I missed this kid! I was just troubled by military matters!”
Fang Shi teased, “Oh? What matters? Tell me about it.”
“…Military matters are classified, how could I tell you!” Jiang Tianze protested.
Fang Shi responded with a skeptical “Heh.”
After rendering Jiang Tianze speechless, Fang Shi turned her attention to Ji Rong.
These days, through communications with her son, she knew Ji Rong was her son’s mate and understood her son’s physical condition. She only knew this child was her son’s classmate, but wasn’t clear about the specifics, so she still felt somewhat uneasy.
“Ji Rong, would your family mind you staying with us? After all, they must miss you after such a long time,” Fang Shi asked Ji Rong gently.
Ji Rong coughed lightly and said, “Don’t worry about that, Auntie. I told my family before the break that I’d be accompanying Jiang Yuan home. They know about it.”
Fang Shi nodded, “Oh, but won’t you visit home at all during this break? You can’t stay in Red Star the whole time, right?”
“I plan to go back after the Spring Festival,” Ji Rong replied.
Fang Shi found this reasonable. The boy was willing to spend Spring Festival in Red Star, which showed he prioritized her son Jiang Yuan.
But she was still worried. Her son’s condition meant he couldn’t be away from an Alpha for now. So if Ji Rong went home, her son would have to go with him. What were his parents like? Would they treat her son well?
“Do your parents know about you and Jiang Yuan?” Fang Shi held back but still couldn’t help asking worriedly.
Ji Rong answered immediately, “Yes, when we were on Earth, my two fathers met and had dinner with Jiang Yuan. They know about us.”
Fang Shi was slightly startled, then realized something.
Previously, when the two kids were trapped in North Rio and later escaped danger, Ji Rong’s family must have gone to Earth to visit them.
“I see,” Fang Shi nodded slightly. “Since they’ve met, that makes things easier. During this break, let’s find time for both sets of parents to meet.”
Ji Rong nodded, “Okay, Auntie!”
Fang Shi felt awkward asking directly about Ji Rong’s parents, so she gradually drew out information through conversation until she had a good picture.
They were from Planet Noth. His Alpha father was a military officer there, and his Omega father wasn’t from the Federation but from Hoyt.
Fang Shi didn’t ask about specific positions, just general information. High-ranking or low-ranking didn’t matter to them.
Back then with Song Yirui, to be honest, she and her husband weren’t too satisfied. But their son liked him, so she and Jiang Tianze believed that as long as their son was happy, that was enough. Even more so now.
Moreover, she was quite satisfied with her son’s new boyfriend, so she didn’t probe too deeply. After their parents met, things would be considered settled.
As they chatted over dinner, there was a knock at the door. Jiang Yuan quickly stood up, “Keep talking, I’ll get it.”
He hurried to the door and opened it, only to see someone he really didn’t want to meet.
“What are you doing here?” Jiang Yuan asked, puzzled, as he looked at the man standing at the door. The man was quite handsome but looked exhausted, his shoulders slumped, making him seem almost pitiful.
“How’s your health? I researched a lot, and the materials say that Betas who transition late often experience pheromone disorders!”
“How are you doing at military school? I’ve been so worried about you…” Song Yirui bit his lip until it bled, the taste of blood making him slightly less panicked.
Jiang Yuan raised an eyebrow. The man’s eyes were slightly red, and his expression seemed genuine. Thinking of the original host’s feelings for Song Yirui, Jiang Yuan softened his tone slightly, “I’m fine. If there’s nothing else, you can leave.”
He didn’t want any further interaction with this person. Although he had planned to break up with Song Yirui since crossing over, what happened afterward was unexpected. Strictly speaking, Song Yirui and Qiu Jingming’s betrayal had helped him, but he still despised them both and felt it was unfair to the original owner.
Seeing Jiang Yuan’s calm tone and lack of obvious disgust, Song Yirui felt he might still have a chance!
As Jiang Yuan was about to close the door, Song Yirui desperately grabbed his hand.
“Xiao Yuan, wait!
“Let me finish!
“I want to tell you, I really regret it. I heard about what happened from your schoolmates that day, and I only found out later… he really used that drug from the internet that induces early heat. I really thought it was an accident at first!
“I’ve been trying to find a chance to explain everything to you, but you blocked me, and I couldn’t contact you. I just heard from my mom that you were coming back today, so I came…”
Jiang Yuan raised an eyebrow, looking at the person before him, and asked, “What’s the point of saying this now?”
Song Yirui looked at Jiang Yuan, bit his lip hard, and stepped forward, “Xiao Yuan, you’re the only one I’ve ever loved! I still want to be with you…”
Seeing Song Yirui reach out to embrace him, Jiang Yuan became angry and shoved him away, pushing him to the ground.
Jiang Yuan suppressed his disgust. The slight sympathy he had felt earlier vanished completely. If Song Yirui had just come to sincerely apologize instead of talking about wanting to be together, he might have thought better of him. At least he would have shown he could admit his mistakes. But talking about getting back together was purely nauseating!
Jiang Yuan said coldly, “Song Yirui, I don’t care what happened between you and Qiu Jingming, and I don’t want to know. Only you two know the truth of that situation.
“Whether he schemed against you or you had feelings for him yourself, Qiu Jingming is now carrying your child. You should be with your mate now, not here!
“I’ll pretend I never heard what you said today. You can leave.”
Just as Jiang Yuan finished speaking, he heard someone calling him.
“Jiang Yuan, what are you doing!”
Qiu Jingming’s voice was so loud that Ji Rong and the others in the dining room came to investigate.
Fang Shi recognized the voice immediately and hurried from the living room to the front door, where she saw her adopted son whom she hadn’t seen for several months.
Qiu Jingming was wearing loose clothing but his swollen belly was still visible as he ran over.
Qiu Jingming was both angry and anxious. Ever since Song Yirui discovered his scheme, he had been very cold toward him. Fortunately, his pheromone disorder syndrome gradually improved, and he hadn’t experienced any heat during pregnancy, so things weren’t too bad.
He had thought that if he just begged Song Yirui enough, but Song Yirui never showed him a kind face. He was getting frustrated too, and they ended up not speaking to each other for a month.
Today had been like any other day, with them giving each other the cold shoulder at home, but then Song Yirui received a call and suddenly rushed out. Finding it strange, he decided to follow him.
Who knew the car would drive straight to their old neighborhood! He immediately guessed that Jiang Yuan must be home for break!
He was about to explode with anger. The man he had fought so hard to get still had his heart set on Jiang Yuan!
What about him? What did that make him and the baby in his belly?
He rushed over intending to confront Song Yirui, but arrived to see Jiang Yuan push Song Yirui to the ground. He knew Jiang Yuan’s strength. If he started hitting Song Yirui, Song Yirui wouldn’t last more than a few punches. He forgot about questioning why Song Yirui had come to find Jiang Yuan, only worried that Song Yirui would get beaten up.
Qiu Jingming ran quickly, suddenly missing his footing. He cried out in shock, his heart trembling.
The baby…
Just as he closed his eyes in despair, someone firmly grabbed his wrist and pulled him into their arms. It took him a while to open his eyes and see clearly who was holding him.
Why… why did it have to be him who saved him!
Qiu Jingming gritted his teeth, didn’t say thank you, and pushed away Jiang Yuan’s hands, turning toward Song Yirui.
Qiu Jingming: “Did he hit you? Are you okay?”
Song Yirui looked at Qiu Jingming showing concern for him, then at the boy’s swollen belly.
It would be better if he had fallen – the thought flashed through his mind.

Dang, SY is despicable! I felt bad for him at first for being played by QJM while the “new” JY also didn’t give much love to SY but his betrayal was still too much. And now, he’s tryna get JY back?! Ha! You and QJM! Just steer clear of the Jiang family! Where’s JR?! Come regulate again on these fools!
Thank you for the mass update and I’m glad your feeling better! Don’t push yourself!
Sheesh this guy is not only a two-timing scumbag fiance, but also a scumbag father who will never take accountability or own up to his mistakes. Instead he just plays the victim card… I would almost pity QJM if he didn’t have a hand in instigating it as well.
Thank you for the update!
This alpha-omega pair is just suitable for each other.. Both are so infuriating..
Little pity that I had for this scumbag is disappeared. The scheming omega already got his karma, he choose that ways, so it’s his fault I don’t really care. But this scumbag disgusting bastard, not only he did not realize his fault, he shamelessly annoyed someone, and yeah, those last sentence of his make me want he live miserably.
If he ignored qjm from the first time he kiss him, he will not be in this position. Qjm is at fault but it’s not like he is innocent either. Yet he chose to blame all to other person and to a child that not yet to born. I really feel bad for the child.
Ay parent need to take those child custody and throw away this shameless couple permanently.
Omg I’m so upset I don’t know what to say
