LPLFDA Chapter 36

On the hospital bed, several adults were present.

Feng Yuan was being stared at by the adults. His little face showed guilt for a few seconds, then he turned his gaze away and continued acting weak.

He kept saying that everywhere on his body hurt.

In this hospital, there was no way he could leave.

Li Sheng looked at his son, who didn’t want to be discharged, but didn’t say much.

He went out for a bit and called a doctor over.

The doctor held a stethoscope and gave Feng Yuan a full checkup on the spot.

“Yuan Yuan, does it hurt here?”

The doctor pressed on Feng Yuan’s little belly.

Feng Yuan’s little belly, aside from being stuffed from overeating, didn’t feel anything else.

But he closed his eyes and spouted nonsense: “It hurts!”

The doctor then touched a little to the right of his belly: “Does it hurt here too?”

Feng Yuan still didn’t open his eyes.

He kept spouting nonsense: “It hurts, it really, really hurts.”

The doctor pressed several more spots, and every time got the same answer.

“Doctor, what’s going on with Yuan Yuan?” Li Sheng asked from the side.

Standing by the bed, the doctor replied in a gentle tone: “Don’t worry, the preliminary diagnosis is appendicitis. We just need to do surgery, remove the appendix, and it’ll be fine.”

“S-Surgery?”

The little cub, eyes still closed, caught a terrifying word with his ears.

This time, he didn’t dare keep them shut anymore.

His round eyes opened wide. The fear inside them couldn’t be hidden.

The doctor looked at his nervous little face and patiently explained how the surgery would be done.

“With a scalpel, we’ll cut open here, remove your appendix, and then you won’t hurt anymore.”

As he explained, the doctor even used his finger to gesture across the boy’s small belly.

After the doctor finished gesturing, Feng Yuan was so scared he was about to cry.

“Don’t cut me open!”

Feng Yuan covered his little belly, his milky voice already carrying a sob: “Cutting my tummy will break my tummy!”

“It’s okay. If it breaks, I’ll stitch it back up for you.”

Feng Yuan: “……”

Cutting the tummy, then stitching the tummy. He couldn’t hold it in anymore.

Seeing the little one about to cry, the adults stood by watching him, yet none stepped forward to comfort him.

The doctor cleared his throat and, under the little one’s teary gaze, spoke again: “Yuan Yuan, that was just a preliminary diagnosis earlier. We need to examine you again, but this time you must answer truthfully.”

“If the results of this check show no issues, then you won’t need surgery. Instead, you can be discharged and go straight home.”

The doctor’s options were either to undergo surgery and have his tummy cut open or be discharged and go home to do homework.

Both choices were terrifying to Feng Yuan.

But compared to the second, the first was a little more frightening.

Feng Yuan sniffled a few times and finally made a decision.

He lifted his clothes, revealing his round little belly once more: “Come on! Check Yuan Yuan again!”

This time, he wasn’t going to lie!

The examination the doctor was doing now was actually unnecessary and pointless.

Before deciding to discharge Feng Yuan, the hospital had already run more comprehensive and in-depth tests on him.

The results showed that there was nothing wrong at all.

This current check was purely to coax him into leaving.

During this new round of examination, the doctor touched Feng Yuan’s little belly again and asked, “Does it hurt?”

Feng Yuan shook his head and told the truth: “It doesn’t hurt.”

There was nothing wrong with him, so there was no need to stay in the hospital.

But Feng Yuan didn’t want to leave.

He pointed to Qin Xun beside him, finding another reason: “I want to stay with Qin Xun!”

Qin Xun hadn’t been discharged yet!

Qin Xun, who was beside him, heard this and instinctively glanced at Li Sheng.

“Uncle, I’m in the hospital alone, and I…”

Before he could finish, Li Sheng interrupted him.

“Yuan Yuan, if you want to stay here with Qin Xun, that’s fine.”

“Your dad brought your school bag over, so you can do your homework here.”

Feng Yuan: “!”

Feng Yuan was stunned.

His little face looked at his two dads in disbelief.

“You brought Yuan Yuan’s school bag over!”

“Yes.”

It had to be said: experience beats youth.

When Feng Qi brought the school bag over, he had already anticipated that his son would come to this spot.

Qin Xun and Feng Yuan shared the same hospital room.

Their room was the hospital’s highest-standard private room.

Inside, there was a double bed, a sofa, tables and chairs, and even a private bathroom.

If Feng Yuan wanted to do his homework here, it was very convenient.

While talking, Feng Qi had already gone to fetch the school bag.

He placed the bag on the table and called Feng Yuan over: “Go ahead and do it. You haven’t even touched this week’s homework, have you?”

Feng Yuan: “……”

He really hadn’t touched a single word.

His little school bag was stuffed in a messy jumble, and the books and notebooks inside were all crumpled.

Even though Li Sheng and Feng Qi helped him organize it every day, it never worked.

There was no shortage of chairs in the hospital room.

Li Sheng sat on the chair by the table, looking ready to tutor his son.

Feng Qi didn’t sit. He closed his eyes and rested on the sofa.

The old master was also in the room, seemingly wanting to take a look at Feng Yuan’s homework.

Feng Qi lifted his eyelids slightly and glanced at him.

Considering the man’s age and his heart’s capacity to handle stress, Feng Qi ultimately addressed him politely.

He called Li Heng “Uncle” out of courtesy.

“You can sit here with me. No need to look at Yuan Yuan’s homework.”

His own Dad, while helping Feng Yuan with homework once, had gotten so frustrated that he went black in the eyes.

Fortunately, Li Sheng noticed his unusual expression in time and carried him away to rest. Otherwise, he might have collapsed over Feng Yuan’s homework.

Feng Yuan’s little brain was clever at everything, except when it came to studying, where he had the ability to drive adults crazy.

And it hadn’t even been two minutes since the tutoring had started.

Feng Yuan gripped his pencil and lifted his little face: “Yuan Yuan is thirsty.”

Feng Qi didn’t move.

Li Sheng didn’t move either.

Seeing that neither of them moved, Li Heng frowned, feeling a bit displeased.

He got up and personally poured a glass of water for Feng Yuan.

Just a glass of water, yet Li Heng felt that these two dads were being too harsh on their little cub.

When the water was brought over, Feng Yuan dawdled, taking ten whole minutes to finish it.

After drinking, he picked up his pencil and wrote a few words on his homework.

When he finished writing a few words, he looked up again.

“Big Daddy, Yuan Yuan needs to pee.”

Since starting to tutor him, Li Sheng’s handsome face had been cold.

He restrained his emotions and carried the little one from the chair to the bathroom.

After coming back from peeing, he wrote a few more words.

After writing a few words, when he looked up again, Li Sheng spoke in a calm voice before the little one could say anything: “Dinner will be ready in a bit. If you want snacks, you can have them after finishing your homework.”

As he spoke, he even patted Feng Yuan’s little belly.

“Your tummy’s already full. Waiting a little longer won’t make you starve.”

Feng Yuan, who had been about to say he was starving, pouted and flopped back onto the table.

“Sit up straight.”

Li Sheng’s big hand patted his back, urging him to sit properly.

Feng Yuan, soft as if he had no bones, continued lying there, refusing to sit up.

“Yuan Yuan is sleepy.”

Li Sheng: “If you’re sleepy, wash your face.”

Feng Yuan: “No.”

He closed his eyes: “Yuan Yuan wants to sleep.”

Seeing that Li Sheng was struggling to keep his composure, Qin Xun, lying on the hospital bed, couldn’t stay still any longer.

“Uncle, bring Yuan Yuan’s homework over here. I’ll teach him.”

At first, Li Sheng didn’t agree.

Qin Xun was already lying on the bed. Li Sheng didn’t want him to get frustrated and stressed out by his son, too.

But Qin Xun was persistent.

He knew clearly in his heart that if the tutoring continued like this, Feng Yuan would end up getting scolded—or worse.

Because of homework, his little bottom had already been spanked several times.

“Uncle, I have experience teaching Yuan Yuan. I can get him to learn.”

Qin Xun volunteered to teach Feng Yuan.

Li Sheng hesitated for a moment, then still brought over Feng Yuan’s messy, tattered books and notebooks.

Li Heng, sitting on the sofa, watched his grandson being delivered to Qin Xun by Li Sheng.

His lips moved slightly as he swallowed the words he had wanted to say.

No wonder Feng Qi had called him over so early.

No wonder Li Sheng had that expression on his face while tutoring.

This little cub, Feng Yuan, when it came to homework, could be a bit slow.

With Qin Xun taking over, Feng Yuan’s homework finally started making progress.

Qin Xun was very good at giving praise.

“Yuan Yuan, this character you wrote is very good. Can you write the other characters this well, too?”

Feng Yuan: “Yes!”

Qin Xun smiled: “I also believe Yuan Yuan can.”

After finishing the assigned characters, it was time for math.

Math was simple now. Just recognizing numbers.

Qin Xun didn’t teach Feng Yuan to recognize them.

Instead, he asked Feng Yuan for help.

“Yuan Yuan, can you teach me to recognize these? What do these two numbers make together?”

Feng Yuan: “……”

Feng Yuan didn’t know either.

His little chubby hands covered Qin Xun’s eyes: “Qin Xun, close your eyes first.”

Qin Xun: “Okay.”

Once Qin Xun closed his eyes, Feng Yuan quickly took the number cards over to his dad.

“2 and 4 make 24.”

After his dad quietly explained it to him once, Feng Yuan hurried back and let Qin Xun open his eyes.

“24!”

Feng Yuan’s little voice rang out loudly: “This is 2, and this is 4!”

Qin Xun: “Mm, got it. Thanks for telling me, Yuan Yuan.”

The hardest part of math had been conquered.

There was just one subject left: English.

Qin Xun found teaching this a bit tricky. He could only barely get Feng Yuan to recite the English letters from memory.

As for Feng Yuan’s pronunciation, he didn’t know how to correct it.

“Take it slow,”

Qin Xun patted Feng Yuan’s little head. After two hours, Feng Yuan had at least finished his homework.

By the time he finished, it was completely dark outside.

Feng Yuan was truly hungry now.

He lifted his clothes to show the adults his little belly.

“Flat.”

“We’ll eat right away.”

Li Sheng had ordered the meal. A nearby private restaurant would deliver it to them.

This restaurant was part of Yu Yi’s chain of business. The food was quite good.

Li Sheng had previously taken Feng Yuan and Qin Xun to eat here. Feng Yuan really loved the steamed egg with shrimp.

The restaurant staff had long since started preparing the food.

But the person delivering it wasn’t a restaurant employee. It was Yu Yi.

When Yu Yi arrived, he brought not only the meal but also some fruit and nutritional supplements.

“Oh, Grandpa Li, you’re here, too.”

Yu Yi greeted Li Heng.

With Li Heng present, he didn’t dare slack off in behavior.

He put on the act of being a good uncle, wanting to hug Feng Yuan.

Feng Yuan would let him hug him, but he wasn’t very familiar with him yet.

“Yuan Yuan, I’m your dad’s best friend. You can call me Godfather.”

Yu Yi had no children of his own. He guessed that his family’s treasure also couldn’t have kids, so it seemed likely he would have no descendants.

But luckily, Li Sheng had a child!

Li Sheng’s son, rounding it out, was still his son!

So Yu Yi eagerly moved closer, hoping to win over the little boy.

Feng Yuan tilted his little head, not in a hurry to call him Godfather.

For adults he wasn’t familiar with and not family, he still needed to observe carefully.

Before the big and small could continue their silent evaluation, Li Sheng carried Feng Yuan back.

“Yuan Yuan, it’s time to eat.”

Li Sheng opened all the meal boxes and had everything set up.

Qin Xun could also get out of bed for a while to eat.

The whole family ate together in a lively, bustling atmosphere, chatting nonstop.

Yu Yi even showed a bit of concern for Qin Xun.

Since Qin Xun had no parents, Yu Yi had worried before—

This kid was always with Feng Yuan. Seeing Feng Yuan’s happy family life, would Qin Xun feel uncomfortable? Would he feel jealous?

But after secretly observing for a long time, he still couldn’t detect any jealousy in Qin Xun.

Qin Xun genuinely cared for Feng Yuan.

After finishing the meal, Li Sheng urged Yu Yi: “Aren’t you leaving? If you don’t go soon, your curfew will pass.”

Yu Yi choked on his words.

As for his curfew, anyone who saw him now would tease him about it.

“I’m not in a hurry.”

Yu Yi stubbornly said, “My treasure’s curfew is just a little game we play. Whether I follow it or not doesn’t matter.”

Li Sheng: “Is that so?”

Seeing the two of them talking about this, the old-fashioned Li Heng frowned tightly and asked, “What curfew?”

Yu Yi’s face stiffened.

At home, with this treasure he was so attached to, they hadn’t yet made anything official.

If Grandpa Li found out, he would definitely tell his own father about it.

By then, he was probably going to get his legs broken.

“Ha, haha, it’s nothing. I was just joking with Li Sheng.”

Yu Yi didn’t bother lingering to play with the kid any longer. He made a quick exit without a trace.

After he left, Li Heng wanted to ask Li Sheng something, but the latter changed the topic.

“Yuan Yuan’s homework is finished. Why not let him stay here another night?”

“Sure, it’ll be good to keep Xiao Xun company, and Qin Xun can be discharged tomorrow.”

Feng Qi wholeheartedly agreed with Li Sheng’s suggestion.

With Feng Yuan staying by his side, Qin Xun wouldn’t feel lonely even while staying here.

That night, Feng Yuan and Qin Xun continued to stay in the hospital room, with Li Sheng and Feng Qi taking turns to accompany them.

Li Heng was sent home by Li Sheng to rest.

On the way back, father and son didn’t speak a word.

Li Sheng knew why that old master hadn’t left yet—

He was waiting for Yuan Yuan.

He still wanted to take Yuan Yuan away.

But on this matter, Li Sheng wouldn’t give in easily.

For now, the father and son could only remain at a stalemate.

The next day.

Feng Yuan didn’t go with Qin Xun. He carried his little school bag himself, while his big daddy held him as they left the hospital.

Seeing Qin Xun, who didn’t have to go to school, Feng Yuan was extremely envious.

“Yuan Yuan, we’re here. Let’s go inside.”

The car arrived at the school gate. Li Sheng set his son down.

Feng Yuan waddled in with his short little legs, his steps heavy as he entered the kindergarten.

As soon as he entered, he saw Su Miao.

“Little Auntie!”

With little Auntie there, Feng Yuan’s little face finally lit up.

Su Miao smiled at him and gently touched his cheek.

“Yuan Yuan, there’s already a lead on the matter of you being locked up.”

“Don’t worry, your little uncle definitely won’t let the culprit off.”

The time Feng Yuan and Qin Xun couldn’t get out, both kids knew there had been a problem with the door.

However, the two children didn’t follow up on it afterward.

Feng Yuan knew that his dad would never let the bad guys get away.

“Mm! Little Auntie, look! Yuan Yuan leveled up!”

Feng Yuan ran to the bathroom and exhaled fire toward Su Miao.

This time, the fire he breathed out was a deeper color and a bit hotter.

It was clear that he had genuinely improved.

Su Miao stayed by his side for two days, and after those two days—

He and Li Ting met once again.

Their reunion also confirmed that their previous efforts had been correct.

Feng Yuan, this little phoenix, simply needed to level up more to gradually grow into a strong adult phoenix like his dad.

But before he could fully level up, the first kindergarten exam loomed right in front of him.

This exam, the teacher said, was very casual. It would be just a summary of what they had been learning so far.

The teacher said there would be no ranking.

But the results would be reported to the parents.

And this exam was actually requested by the parents themselves.

Hearing that it was parent-driven, Feng Yuan was already annoyed.

He puffed up his little chubby face, not knowing which parent could be so annoying.

Seeing the exam approaching and not wanting to take it, Feng Yuan set his sights on his grandpa.

“Grandpa!”

Taking advantage of the fact that both of his dads were absent, Feng Yuan climbed onto Li Heng’s lap to sit.

He hugged Li Heng and made a request.

“Take Yuan Yuan away!”

“After a few days, return Yuan Yuan!”

After a few days, he’ll come back when the exam is over!

Feng Yuan was extremely determined when it came to skipping class.

After asking his grandpa, he wrote a farewell letter to his two dads.

There were too many words he couldn’t write. He didn’t want Qin Xun to help, so he combined writing and drawing to make a letter that wasn’t very easy to read.

The content of the letter was simple, just a few lines—

Yuan Yuan is leaving.

Yuan Yuan will come back.

Dad, goodbye!

After finishing the letter, Feng Yuan looked at his grandpa, spread his little hands, and said, “Grandpa, let’s go!”

Moonlit: Yuan Yuan will do everything just to escape the exam 😂😂

  1. Lizzieeee says:

If his grandpa knew that Yuan Yuan wanted him to take him away because he doesn’t want to take the exam, he’ll surely want to take his heart medicine🤣😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, I think that the culprit of locking Yuan Yuan and Qin Xun is tgat girl Zhao or somthing, the one who wants to climb on Li Sheng’s bed.
