LPLFDA Chapter 43

Feng Yuan lay sprawled on the net at the side, completely unable to hear what was being said on the field.

Even though he couldn’t hear the sound, he still wanted to join in the fun, lying there watching.

The field was bustling with excitement.

Feng Yuan’s gaze was firmly locked onto the beautiful young lady in a vest outfit. He was staring so intently that he didn’t even notice his own chubby little face squashed against the net, the soft flesh of his cheeks puffing out.

When he saw the beautiful young lady give another fierce kick, his eyes sparkled. His chubby little hands clapped reflexively.

Before his clapping even stopped, that delicate little girl on the field—her features as exquisite as a porcelain doll’s—suddenly lifted her head and looked over.

Their eyes collided unexpectedly.

For some reason, Feng Yuan’s little heart thudded like a drum, pounding rapidly.

He didn’t avoid eye contact.

The two children, one big and one small, just stared at each other like that. Feng Yuan’s slightly squashed, comical little face looked rather funny.

On the field, the beautiful young lady seemed to raise her brows at him.

“So cool.”

Feng Yuan felt like he had been struck full in the face with coolness.

He opened the camera on his smartwatch, recorded a short video, and shared it with Qin Xun.

Qin Xun saw the video he shared and replied almost instantly.

“Yuan Yuan is filming that girl in the vest?”

Yuan Yuan-not-fat: “Mm!”

Yuan Yuan-not-fat: “She’s really cool!”

Qin Xun: “I can play soccer too.”

Qin Xun: “Yuan Yuan, when you come back, I’ll play soccer with you?”

Yuan Yuan-not-fat: “I don’t want to play soccer anymore.”

Yuan Yuan-not-fat: “Let’s talk about it when I come back!”

Feng Yuan sent several voice messages in a row, then continued to focus intently on the soccer game on the field.

For as long as the game went on, Feng Yuan stayed sprawled on the net watching.

When the game finally ended, Feng Yuan saw that beautiful young lady walking out. He stood where he was, too nervous to move.

“Hel—hello there!”

Feng Yuan’s little body didn’t move, but his mouth did.

He took the initiative to greet her.

The beautiful young lady in the distance heard his voice, but she didn’t come closer.

Feng Yuan could only watch as she walked away.

“Sigh.”

Watching the young lady walk farther and farther away, Feng Yuan felt a bit melancholy inside.

He had actually wanted to play together with that pretty big sister.

Just as regret was written all over Feng Yuan’s little face, the horse field to the east caught his attention.

Inside the paddock, there were still people riding horses.

In real life, it was Feng Yuan’s very first time seeing a horse.

Among them, there was a red little colt that he really liked.

He watched from the side for quite a while before finally mustering up the courage to walk in and ask: “Hello, excuse me, can I ride a horse?”

The staff at the stable saw him and smiled.

“Of course.”

The staff’s attitude was very kind, and they didn’t object to his request.

As he wished, he got to ride that red little colt.

A staff member led the pony around the paddock in circles.

Feng Yuan hadn’t changed into special riding clothes.

The staff reminded him in advance: “If you don’t change clothes, your legs will get chafed and hurt. Little friend, you can’t ride for too long.”

The staff’s kind reminder went in one ear and out the other for Feng Yuan.

He rode several laps on the little horse and still didn’t want to get down.

“Yuan Yuan doesn’t hurt, just one more lap!”

In his soft, milky voice, Feng Yuan pleaded. With those big, round, watery eyes looking up so pitifully, the staff couldn’t resist and indulged him with two more laps.

When the two laps were over, this time the staff didn’t soften, but firmly lifted Feng Yuan down.

As soon as Feng Yuan’s chubby little feet touched the ground, he felt the sting at the tops of his thighs.

That burst of pain made Feng Yuan’s small face change.

He stubbornly held it in and didn’t cry.

“Uncle, goodbye. Thank you for leading the horse for me just now.”

Standing in place, Feng Yuan forced himself to say goodbye to the staff at the horse paddock before turning away.

He turned his head, walked a bit, then broke into a run.

And as he ran, his eyes turned red.

“Wuuu wuuu wuuu.”

His butt and thighs hurt so much!

Feng Yuan ran until he reached a deserted corner, then looked left and right.

After making sure no one was around, he finally pulled down his pants.

Lowering his head, he looked at his thighs.

His thighs were chubby.

At the tops of those plump thighs, the flesh that had originally been soft and tender was now covered in a large patch of redness, and faintly looked like the skin had broken.

Feng Yuan carefully touched it.

The very next second, the pain made tears spill from his eyes.

When he was riding, he hadn’t felt it hurt this much!

Only after getting off the horse did the pain fully come out!

While Feng Yuan was still secretly checking his leg, the pretty young girl he had seen before but hadn’t spoken to was, at that moment, searching for his figure through the surveillance cameras.

Beside the young girl stood an old man with a thick beard, dressed in a patterned casual outfit.

With the old man’s help, the young girl quickly found Feng Yuan on the surveillance feed.

“What a beautiful little one.”

Robert gazed at the child secretly checking his own body on the screen, a faint smile appearing in his eyes. “In this world, a baby that fits my aesthetic… I didn’t expect there would be one more.”

“Grandpa, then do you like him, or do you like me?”

“My darling, only you.”

Robert replied without the slightest hesitation, his gaze shifting from the surveillance screen to his own granddaughter.

He carefully studied his darling’s expression.

On her face, he didn’t see the slightest trace of jealousy or displeasure.

“Darling, do you like this little one?”

Robert suddenly asked. When he voiced this question, his heart stirred with emotion.

His darling had always loved animals more than humans.

Even family members, within her eyes, were very few who were truly important.

What comforted Robert somewhat was that, as her grandfather, he still counted as one of the few people she valued.

But his other precious grandchild? That one disliked everyone equally, including him, the grandfather.

Robert often worried over these two darlings of his.

He hoped that their emotions could be a bit richer.

In other words, he hoped his darlings might one day start to show interest in people.

Now, seeing that his granddaughter might finally show the beginnings of such a sign, Robert’s heart naturally couldn’t remain calm.

His burning gaze fixed on his darling before him.

Unfortunately, she only smiled lightly, then shook her head.

“No.”

“I don’t like him.”

The pretty little girl sat on the chair. Though her brows and eyes carried a smile, there wasn’t the slightest trace of childlike innocence or kindness in it.

She didn’t think she would ever like that soft, squishy baby on the screen.

That little fellow looked far too easy to bully.

“Oh, alright then.”

A trace of disappointment flickered in Robert’s eyes. He didn’t continue with the topic.

His wife called. Guests had arrived.

Robert patted his darling’s head and said in a low voice, “Grandpa’s stepping out for a bit. You play here by yourself.”

“Mm.”

Robert rose and left, leaving behind the little girl who was still watching the surveillance video.

Propping her chin in her hand, the girl stared at the cub in the video. He slowly pulled up his pants, then slowly shuffled away.

The little one walked like a turtle crawling.

She watched with great interest.

Unaware that he was being watched, the little cub sniffled, already not wanting to play anymore.

He wanted to go home.

Walking out from the empty corner, Feng Yuan rubbed his butt, but didn’t dare touch his thighs.

Just as he was about to go find his aunt, he happened to run right into Boris and the others, who had just left the soccer field full of pent-up anger.

“It’s you.”

Boris, who hadn’t gone a day without a beating these past two days, looked at him with eyes practically spitting fire.

His family’s business had suffered serious blows in these two days. His father had pinned all the blame on him.

Every time a bad phone call came in, or whenever his father came back from outside, he would get dragged up and beaten!

In all his life, this was the first time he had ever been beaten so harshly!

The kids beside him hadn’t had it any better either.

The Li family’s retaliation was far too fierce!

Thinking about what had happened to his family, and what had happened to himself, Boris didn’t dare raise a hand to bully the little radish-head in front of him anymore.

He ground his teeth, hatred burning in his eyes. “Young master, are you still not satisfied?! Aren’t we miserable enough already?”

“What will it take for you to stop?”

Feng Yuan: “?”

Feng Yuan frowned. “What are you talking about?”

He didn’t understand a single word.

Feng Yuan truly had no idea about these children’s situation.

So at this moment, in his eyes, they just seemed utterly baffling.

“I don’t want to talk to you.”

Feng Yuan disliked them and didn’t want to say another word to them.

But those kids just wouldn’t let him off.

“Young Master Li, give us a straight answer. When will your family stop, and let our family go?”

Though the child wasn’t very old, he wasn’t without brains.

Their family had suffered retaliation from the Li family. Of course, they were anxious.

But Feng Yuan gave them no answer.

The standoff dragged on. Feng Yuan’s eyes lingered on Boris for a while.

“You have a smell on you.”

Feng Yuan suddenly said, “It’s a bad smell.”

Boris: “…”

Boris snapped in anger: “You’re the one who smells! I took a bath!”

After angrily explaining, his nose still instinctively sniffed hard.

When he was done, he emphasized again: “I don’t stink!”

Feng Yuan: “I never said you stink.”

He just felt there was something odd about the smell on Boris.

A couple of days ago, the Ruskin he had beaten also seemed to have a bit of a smell.

It was just that, back then, the scene had been too chaotic. He hadn’t taken a careful sniff.

The black mist on his aunt and that strange smell on Boris and Ruskin.

As Feng Yuan thought about it, his little face grew serious.

He wondered if there might be some kind of connection between them.

Carrying a belly full of thoughts, Feng Yuan lowered his head and fiddled with his smartwatch. While turning to walk away, he sent a message to Qin Xun.

He told Qin Xun about his discovery.

After a while, Qin Xun replied: “Don’t act rashly.”

“You can first look around the house, see if there’s anything unusual.”

Feng Yuan: “Okay!”

Feng Yuan didn’t go to find his Dad again.

He only discussed it with Qin Xun.

He knew his Dad was busy. He didn’t want to make his Dad handle everything.

In this world, aside from his Dad, there was also him—the little phoenix!

He could do things, too.

Feng Yuan ignored those kids. When he said he was leaving, he left.

And those children didn’t dare offend him again. So even though they watched him go, they didn’t dare try to stop him.

Very soon.

Feng Yuan returned to his aunt’s side. As soon as he came back, he asked her to hold him.

Li Wei looked a little surprised when she saw him return alone.

“Yuan Yuan, you didn’t run into anyone?”

With his chubby little legs spread apart, Feng Yuan sat on Li Wei’s lap. Tilting up his little face, he told her about running into those bad kids.

“I wasn’t talking about them.”

Li Wei’s expression showed some helplessness, but she didn’t explain further.

“Forget it. You’ll be meeting them soon anyway.”

She picked up the little one on her lap. Even though the family had already sent plenty of new clothes, new shoes, and new toys, Li Wei still couldn’t help wanting to buy Feng Yuan more things.

There was a big mall nearby.

Carrying Feng Yuan, Li Wei went straight to the mall.

The mall had shopping carts.

Feng Yuan didn’t want to walk, so he sat in the cart, tagging along with his aunt as she shopped and shopped.

They spent a full three hours shopping until Feng Yuan was nearly buried under all the things they had bought.

Turning his face toward his aunt, he said, “Auntie, the things for Grandpa—make sure to give them to Grandpa.”

While they had been shopping just now, Feng Yuan had also picked out some things for his grandfather.

Li Wei pinched his chubby little cheeks, beginning to understand why his father doted on this little one so much.

In their family, it really was the first time they had a filial and adorable little child like him.

“All right, we’ll deliver these to Grandpa. His company isn’t far. How about we have a meal with him outside?”

Feng Yuan’s soft little voice rang out loudly: “Ok!”

The “ok” he said was one of the English words he knew.

Since coming here, the once-struggling elementary school student had constantly heard foreign languages.

He had absorbed them bit by bit and now knew several words.

Hello!

Ok!

Byebye!

He could use all three of these words fluently!

He even demonstrated them to his two dads, his little uncle, and Qin Xun.

But after he showed them, his two dads and little uncle didn’t seem very impressed.

Only Qin Xun praised him for a long time!

“Let’s go. We’re going to see Grandpa.”

Li Wei’s execution was strong. When she said go, they went.

Not long after, she took Feng Yuan to see Li Heng.

By the time they arrived, Li Heng hadn’t finished work yet.

Li Wei sat on the sofa on the first floor and didn’t go up herself.

She had Feng Yuan carry the gift they had picked out for Grandpa and go upstairs.

The receptionist had originally wanted to call the old gentleman, but he was in a meeting at that moment.

Li Wei also spoke up, explaining Feng Yuan’s identity.

Seeing this, the receptionist didn’t object further and let Feng Yuan go upstairs.

The meeting room was on the 12th floor.

Feng Yuan was too short, so he asked someone to press the elevator button for him.

Once inside the elevator, he practiced a new word he had just learned with his little translation device.

“San ke you!”

Feng Yuan’s pronunciation wasn’t perfect, but he was full of confidence.

After saying thank you, he rode the elevator up to the 12th floor.

The meeting room door on the 12th floor was tightly closed, and a “Meeting in Progress” sign hung on it.

Feng Yuan asked someone and finally found the right place.

He didn’t understand the English on the sign, so he pushed the door open with all his strength.

“Grandpa, Yuan Yuan is here!”

The door swung open. Feng Yuan’s high, clear little voice rang out.

Everyone in the meeting room froze, all turning in unison toward the door.

Feng Yuan pushed the door wider and realized just how many people were inside.

A child didn’t understand anything about meetings or protocols.

He blinked and kept walking in.

He had already spotted his grandfather sitting at the head!

“Grandpa, Yuan Yuan bought something for you.”

Feng Yuan waddled forward on his short little legs and ran up to his grandfather, wanting a hug.

Li Heng lowered his gaze, looking at the obedient little face of the child.

The meeting room was silent.

No one dared make a sound. They quietly watched the intruding little one.

At that moment, there was only one thought in their minds.

This little cub was about to be kicked out.

Such an adorable, soft little cub, probably on the verge of tears.

No one believed Li Heng would keep this little cub.

Even though they understood that the child had just called him Grandpa.

Everyone knew that Li Heng was a man who kept public and private matters strictly separate. He seemed almost mechanical, never showing any unnecessary emotion.

Under the held breath of everyone watching, Feng Yuan climbed onto his grandfather’s lap by himself.

Sitting on Li Heng’s lap, he pouted and first gave his grandfather a customary little kiss.

After the kiss, he opened the things he had brought.

One was a sandwich with ham sausage inside.

Feng Yuan loved ham sausage. He had even taken a bite of this sandwich himself, found it delicious, and deliberately saved it for Li Heng.

“Grandpa, you eat!”

The filial little one resisted his own craving and held the bitten sandwich up to Li Heng’s mouth.

Li Heng looked at the sandwich, then at the little one on his lap.

The next second, he lowered his head and took a bite.

“Isn’t it delicious?”

Feng Yuan’s eyes sparkled as he said, “It’s money Auntie gave Yuan Yuan!”

Not a single penny of Feng Yuan’s pocket money had been saved.

Right now, his pockets were cleaner than his face.

Li Heng swallowed the bite of sandwich, supporting the little one on his lap with his large hand, and uttered a low “Mm.”
