Chapter 31
The Bloody Revenge was correct, but Kyungsoo, who genuinely hadn’t expected Noeul to get hurt, gasped sharply. He shot up from where he was seated, causing Noeul to blink in confusion. With a serious expression, Kyungsoo commanded.
“Stand up and walk.”
“Now?”
Noeul stiffly stood up and took a few steps. Fortunately, his gait appeared unaffected. Just as Kyungsoo was about to let out a sigh of relief, Noeul suddenly sank to the ground with a thud. It’s because of me! Kyungsoo’s heart plummeted as well.
“A rock…”
“What’s wrong!”
“Huh? In my shoe…”
“Do you feel dizzy? Or have a headache?”
“…”
“Let me take a look.”
Kyungsoo cupped Noeul’s face with both hands, carefully inspecting the back of his head with his fingers to check for any lumps. His fingers weaved through Noeul’s hair, gently touching here and there. The proximity of Kyungsoo’s breath caused Noeul’s ears to turn a shade of red.
“No, this isn’t going to work. Let’s watch the movie another time.”
“What? Why?!”
Noeul replied with a disappointed look, but Kyungsoo appeared unwavering in his decision. If Noeul suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed in a dark theater, it would be a disaster. He decided it was safer to take Noeul home and observe him for any changes.
“Want me to carry you?”
“…What?”
“If you don’t like that, then hop on my back.”
“Really?”
Noeul blushed, cupping his cheeks with his hands, which only served to irk Kyungsoo, making him lower his outstretched arms and change his mind.
“Never mind. I’ll just support you. Lean on me if you feel dizzy. And… let me know if it gets really bad.”
“Yes.”
“Fuck no, I mean if you feel dizzy! Not now!!”
“Okay… but where are we going?”
“Your place.”
“…”
Noeul’s heartbeat quickened. Kyungsoo, walking in silence, suddenly got annoyed again and intentionally stomped on Noeul’s foot.
“You better be prepared to tell me everything once we’re at your place.”
“I could just tell you now…”
“If I start something here, we’ll have the cops on us again, won’t we?”
“…”
Noeul glanced at the baseball bat clutched in Kyungsoo’s hand, pressing his lips tightly together. Imagining what would’ve happened if it were a hammer instead made his legs feel weak.
—
As soon as they stepped inside Noeul’s entryway, Kyungsoo shrugged off Noeul’s arm and said.
“Take off your pants.”
“Wh-what?!”
Since Noeul had hurt his knees, taking off his pants was necessary to treat the wounds. Kyungsoo looked at Noeul, who was so surprised he’d even hiccupped, with confusion.
“Why? Take them off, I said.”
“You mean it? Really take them off?”
“How else would I treat your wound?”
Noeul touched his ears, flashing a shy smile.
“But it’s a bit fast…”
“Fast?”
“I-I don’t mind, it’s just a bit sudden…”
“…”
As Kyungsoo watched Noeul’s face turn red, realisation hit him and he screamed in horror.
“Are you out of your damn mind you crazy bastard?! I’m just trying to check your injury! Go change into something comfortable and come out!”
Realizing his misunderstanding, Kyungsoo pushed Noeul toward his room. Noeul fumbled with the doorknob as if he intended to come right back out, but Kyungsoo held the knob tightly from the outside until Noeul gave up and changed. He reemerged a few minutes later in comfortable pants, looking somewhat sheepish.
“…”
The sight of Noeul’s scraped white knees looked worse than expected. It was remarkable how he’d managed to walk without showing any signs of pain. Though rinsing the wound helped, dislodging the scab caused fresh blood to trickle down.
Kyungsoo dabbed a cotton ball soaked in disinfectant near the torn skin, making Noeul wince as the pain stung him. A mix of guilt and regret washed over Kyungsoo.
“Is… is it okay? Does it hurt a lot?”
Kyungsoo held onto Noeul’s calf, looking up at him with concern. However, Noeul smiled brightly, as if unaffected.
“A kiss would make it feel better…”
It was nonsense, plain and simple. Kyungsoo must have thought he was still delirious. He pressed the cotton ball firmly on Noeul’s wound. Although Noeul let out a silent scream, Kyungsoo figured it was just an overreaction.
“All done.”
After applying medication to both knees, Kyungsoo laid Noeul down on his bed. Compliant as ever, Noeul lay down as instructed, holding tightly onto Kyungsoo’s hand.
“Why the bed? Are you planning to…?”
“…”
Today, Noeul was acting more unusual than usual. Kyungsoo blankly recalled the baseball bat left at the shoe rack. Under normal circumstances, he’d know better than to say something like that, but Noeul’s strange behavior made him pause.
Come to think of it, he remembered hearing a thud earlier. Maybe Noeul had hit his head and gone a little loopy? Brushing his hair back, Kyungsoo spoke in a gentle tone.
“You’ve been saying strange things, but that would never happen, not even in my dreams.”
“…”
“Get a grip.”
Instead of attempting to calm Noeul down, Kyungsoo decided to change the topic. After all, the reason they’d come out today was to confront Noeul about something. Missing the movie was a bit disappointing… but this was more pressing.
“Cheon Noeul.”
Hearing his name, Noeul looked up with wide eyes and responded.
“Yes?”
“You little liar.”
“…Yes.”
Although his gaze wavered, Noeul answered obediently, and Kyungsoo couldn’t help but laugh. Noeul may have acted like someone else online, but at the end of the day, he was still just Noeul — lying there, both knees scraped, unable to move.
“Why did you lie? For months, at that.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Do you have a death wish?”
Noeul’s face twitched. Kyungsoo brushed his hair back and demanded again.
“When was the first time you saw me? Was it when I helped boost you in the game? I barely remember that…”
“Oh, no. It was actually during a mushroom hunt… you killed me back then, mistaking me for a mushroom. That’s when I first noticed you.”
At this point, Kyungsoo would freeze up at the word “mushroom.” He must have known absolutely nothing back then. Otherwise, he’d never have targeted Sunset.
“…Oh, right. So, was all of this for revenge?”
“No! It was only for a little while, I swear! And I tried waiting around for a rematch, but you were stronger, so I couldn’t… Anyway, I’m not out for revenge now. There’s no way I’d do that to you.”
Noeul stammered, trailing off. If it wasn”t revenge, Kyungsoo couldn’t figure out why Noeul had been following him all this time. If he’d known Kyungsoo from his days as Sunset, it would have been quite some time now.
“Why did you follow me, then?”
“Because you’re cool. I wanted to be friends with you.”
“…Really? You thought I was cool?”
“Yes!”
“So, you even put a bounty on me?”
“Hehe…”
“don’t laugh. And what did you plan to do after becoming friends?”
“…Get married?”
Noeul’s eyes sparkled with anticipation.
“Stop joking around.”
Kyungsoo flicked his forehead, and Noeul swiftly clasped his hands over Kyungsoo’s, gripping them tightly. Kyungsoo, taken off guard, nearly fell over him but quickly steadied himself. With their fingers interlocked, Noeul gazed up at him innocently.
“Let go.”
“I’m afraid you’ll hit me again.”
“Then don’t say things that’ll get you hit.”
“I’ll try. But I’m not letting go.”
“…Fine, do as you please.”
Getting to know Noeul had taught Kyungsoo nothing but how to give up quickly.
“By the way, did you know your face showed up in the official interview video? The one from when you hit max level with Berserker.”
“What?”
That couldn’t be possible… He had personally checked to ensure his face wouldn”t appear.
“They fixed it now. I sent in a hundred complaints! Pretty impressive, right? I even got banned from posting for a week due to duplicate questions.”
“…That’s impressive.”
Astonishingly, Noeul’s eyes sparkled as if he wanted praise. Ignoring the fact that he had deceived him, Kyungsoo had no intention of letting this go. He thought about what would make Noeul the most uncomfortable and came up with a good idea.
“Tell everyone else that you’re Sunset. Whether you post it on the forum or brag about it on social media, spill the truth.”
“…What?”
Noeul, usually unfazed, asked back with his mouth slightly agape.
“Why? it’s enough if only you know….”
“Only I need to know? Why’s that?”
“Because, as long as I can play with you, That’s all that matters to me.”
“Well, isn’t that just your own problem?”
“Besides, people don’t know who I am. They’ve probably forgotten about me entirely. They might not even notice I’m gone.”
“Why wouldn’t they know? They all do. Even people who’ve never met you asked me where Cheon Noeul disappeared to. They kept asking if you’d quit for good… Honestly, I couldn’t understand why the fuck I even had to hear that.”
Kyungsoo gave a bitter smile, and Noeul, in turn, raised his voice in frustration.
“Which damned asshole said that? Why should you quit for that?”
“…Anyway, you’re definitely a name everyone knows. Though not in a good way… How did you manage to fool everyone like that? It must have been hard pretending to be that bad. How did you do it? Were you only using the on-screen keyboard and mouse?”
“…That’s a secret. If I told you that, you’d really kill me.”
His voice grew softer towards the end. Kyungsoo wondered what kind of method Noeul might have used to pretend to be so bad. Did he play with only one hand? Or maybe he purposely acted clumsy? But it wasn’t something he was curious enough about, so he quickly dismissed it from his mind.
“Ah, can’t I just not tell anyone? I’m not bored anymore, so I won’t do any more bomb trolling.”
To Kyungsoo, it sounded like Noeul was saying he’d do it if he got bored.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
[T/N: I will update 2 more chapters tomorrow to make up for missed updates last week. Also I have an announcement to make.
I am finished translating Love Games though the chapters still need editing. Let’s be honest I know many of you are here solely for novel and will probably leave after its finished and honestly I can do nothing about it. Love Games is my ‘most’ in every category, most-viewed, most- commented on, most-profit generating and also my most most most loved translation. There’s souch I want to say but honestly I am not sure how to word it. I’ll get to the point now, to no lose my current traffic i hve decided to pick up 2 more novels. I have already decided on the first one but as for second, I am not too sure which one to pick and tbh I am not sure about the first one either. The novel is called THE PERFECT GAME MATE and I’ve translated 4 sample chapter for y’all to read and tell me if I should continue with it or not. Regardless I know that I am probably not gonna get any novel that got as popular as Love Games but I will try my best.
You can read the sample chapter on my patreon for free by becoming a free member. Find all the chapters and the synopsis in the collection section easily. The names are pretty inconsistent because I am not too sure about them yet and honestly since idk whether I am going to continue with this project or not I’d rather not bother with it right now.
Well that’s it. It was pretty long I know lol. I hope you can atleast check that novel if not anything and please tell me if I should continue Translating it or not. Also make sure to recommend any novel you want me to translate!!
Happy reading <33]
Lolol I’m curious how he managed to fool everyone as well , also Tysm for this update !!
As for your announcement I’d say do not lose hope yet on your upcoming translation projects !! You never know what the future is holding for you so do your best and I’m sure you’ll get what you worked for !! I’ll also be checking out your upcoming projects as well ^^ U got this !!
Thank you so much! You’re the sweetest!
thank you so much for the update! I really can’t with noeul’s wild thoughts😭
I read the first four chapters of the new novel and it looks promising!! can I ask what the first novel is ? (^.^) I’ll gladly keep reading your translations and do anything I can to support you and your work ~ your tls are literally flawless. On another note, idk if you’ve heard about netkama punch, but it’s a gaming bl novel and the chaos reminds me of love games…. although some chapters have been translated, it seems it’s been either dropped or on a very long hiatus. if you’re looking for any new projects, might I recommend this one huhu
regardless, thank you for your hard work and I can’t wait to keep reading <3
I literally love netkama punch but I am not sure where to start the tl from. Can you guys access the chapters trough NU. It doesn’t open up for me. So should I start from Chapter 1 (if I do it) or from where it was dropped?
omg yay you know it 😭 erm on NU, I can only access cg’s 33 chapters but it appears the other group’s (up to ch 54) links are dead… so if you do decide to do it, maybe ch 34 so its easier for you?
and abt the novels you decided to pick up, I was curious what the other one was, apart from tpgm ^^
Ah I see. I’ll check it out. If it’s on CG I can probably pick continue it there.
Lol the four chapter are from the first novel only. It’s called The Perfect Game Mate.
thank you so so so much 🙏🙏🙏
You’re welcome <3
Thank you so much for translating this chapter!
I also want to know how he managed to play so bad, as someone who play games I know how difficult it is to be bad without looking like you’re faking it. I tried to play bad once and it looked so obvious and stupid.
Now I’ll look at the other things you translated.
🙂
Thank you. And please don’t forget to tell me if you liked it or not since what I need is feedback on that novel.
Thanks for the chap!! <3
N also i suggest to you to translate "Dead man switch" I didn't find a eng one, it's has a manhwa too tho, but still not completed T0T, ig it'll go popular (?)
Wait I think I’ve heard of this one very recently. Lol someone has recommended me the manhwa to read. Haha
Just checked and the novels been fully translated been translated by tappytoon in and collaboration with wordsexcerpt.
thank you so much for translating 🫂
