Kyungsoo hesitated for a moment and looked around his room. He hadn’t cleaned up since the semester ended and had just been lying in bed. But if he cleaned up after the game, there’d be enough time.

 

[Couple] MeowieMeowMeow: Sure.

[Couple] Sunset: Can I stay the night too?

[Couple] MeowieMeowMeow: Yeah.

[Couple] Sunset: We’ll share the bed, right?

[Couple] MeowieMeowMeow: Yeah.

“Congratulations! You have conquered the 1000th floor of the Record Tower!”

 

After his third attempt, Kyungsoo finally surpassed the previous record displayed on the top floor’s electronic board. He smashed the reward chest that appeared before him. As a result, another portal appeared alongside the one leading back to the lobby on the first floor.

 

[Party] Rexu: “Wasn’t the 1000th floor supposed to be the final one? What’s going on…?”

[Party] MeowieMeowMeow: “Is this an event?”

 

Kyungsoo was the first to enter the newly appeared portal. Upon entering, he saw a sign at the top of the map labeled “1001st Floor.” His party members, who followed him in, seemed equally bewildered.

 

[Guild] Ji9star: “Whoa, we just entered the 1001st floor of the tower! When was this update released?”

[Guild] HalloweenEggplant: “Stop making things up.”

[Guild] Rexu: “It’s true!!”

[Guild] HalloweenEggplant: “Even Rexu’s backing this? Earthstar’s gotten bold, huh…”

[Guild] MeowieMeowMeow: “It’s really true.”

[Guild] HalloweenEggplant: “…? Was there an update? Wait, I’ll check.”

[Guild] Ji9star: “Why won’t anyone believe me? Ugh—”

 

Although they had reached the 1001st floor, there were no monsters or NPCs in sight. Kyungsoo wandered around the map, confused, and tried using a warp capsule.

 

“This is an event zone. Warp capsules cannot be used.”

 

[Party] MeowieMeowMeow: “What? Warping doesn’t work.”

[Party] SpadeQueen: “Huh? You’re right…”

 

‘Player ParkRoach has disconnected.’

‘Player ParkRoach has logged in.’

 

[Guild] ParkRoach: “?? Why was I summoned here? Someone invite me to the party, please…”

 

‘Player ParkRoach has joined the party.’

 

The Record Tower was designed like an instance dungeon, where logging out would normally return a player to the lobby. However, the fact that ParkRoach had reappeared on the 1001st floor even after disconnecting meant they were trapped in a glitched map.

 

[Party] Seolyoung: “Even if it’s an event map, it’s a shame there’s no infinite cash item bug like in that other game… Sigh.”

 

No matter what they tried, there was no way to leave the map. Bored, Kyungsoo began testing his attack skills and soon realized that PvP was enabled on this floor. Seolyoung stuck close to Rexu, landing light attacks every time his HP regenerated, joking that it felt like farming a monster. As always, Rexu ended up in tears.

 

Even shouting for help in the guild chat didn’t change anything. In the end, Ji9star decided to make a post on the community board.

GMs, did you leave the 1001st floor map unfinished? If so, you should’ve put up a sign saying “Under Construction!” I accidentally wandered in and got stuck!

Of course, Kyungsoo knew that “Sunset” had become a derogatory term in the game and somewhat agreed, but he couldn’t help feeling a bit annoyed.

As expected, no one believed him.

No matter how long he waited, no one took any action. It had already been over 30 minutes. He wondered if he should just log out and check back tomorrow to see if the bug was fixed. But it was Kyungsoo’s first time being trapped in a bugged map like this, so he wasn’t certain.

Kyungsoo kept refreshing the freeboard. If no GM showed up in the next 10 minutes, he’d just leave and go shower.

Fortunately, a GM had commented on Earth Star’s post. Kyungsoo watched the chaotic chat, hoping the issue would be resolved soon.

 

Then, suddenly, something emerged from the ground. Mistaking it for a monster, everyone instinctively attacked. Not only did they damage the entity, but their own HP dropped as well.

 

[Global] MeowieMeowMeow: Ah, sorry!

[Global] Seolyeong: That scared me, lol.

 

When they noticed the “GM” title effect above the figure’s head, everyone lowered their weapons—except for Noeul, who still cast his Time Bomb skill.

 

“Time Bomb, activate!”

 

“…”

 

Boom! Boom boom!

 

After receiving simultaneous attacks from all eight players, GM Pudding collapsed without even a chance to react, ending with Noeul’s Time Bomb. Though everyone had attacked, it was Noeul’s skill that delivered the finishing blow.

[Global] GM Pudding: …

 

The GM’s character lay on the ground with X’s over his eyes. It was the second time Pudding had been defeated by Noeul’s Time Bomb alone.

 

[Party] MeowieMeowMeow: You crazy! Beg for mercy!

[Global] Sunset: Sorry! You just popped out so suddenlyㅇㅅ;ㅇ Please knock before entering next time…

[Global] GM Pudding: I… did warn you? I commented…TT

[Global] Sunset: Didn’t see it!

Kyungsoo gave up. He decided not to intervene anymore.

 

[Party] Rexu: LOL, he even talks like that to a GM, huh?

[Party] SpadeQueen: This guy once got a six-month ban for similar stuff, so yeah…

[Party] Seolyeong: Was that even an apology? LOL

[Party] MeowieMeowMeow: But honestly, he did pop out too suddenly, lol.

GM Pudding examined the map silently before standing off to the side. Shortly after, a loading screen appeared, and all eight party members were transferred to the first floor of Record Tower.

 

[Global] Ji9star: We’re free…

[Global] Seolyeong: He wouldn’t hold a grudge for being killed, right?

[Global] SpadeQueen: Maybe he’ll give us a bug reward instead, lol. Who told them to make a bug anyway?

 

Kyungsoo agreed it wasn’t ban-worthy. Compared to Noeul’s antics before they met, this was nothing. Back then, Noeul had harmed other players, which was definitely ban-worthy, but this time, the GM had suddenly appeared and startled everyone into attacking. Noeul wasn’t entirely to blame.

 

[Global] Neutaaaa: Wow, but he really looked like a mob, haha.

[Global] Rexu: T^T

[Global] Neutaaaa: No, not you. I meant Pudding, lol.

[Global] Sunset: ㅇㅅㅇ LOL

 

[Sunset has logged out.]

 

“…What? Cheon Noeul! Why’d you log out so fast?!”

 

Kyungsoo hurried to clean his room, shoving everything into a corner before rushing into the bathroom to shower.

 

It was a peaceful weekend afternoon.
