MMLDU Chapter 13

Princess carry

After coming out of the gym, Pei Lang took a shower, changed into clean clothes, and went downstairs to chat with Aunt Lin. Pei Lang was highly emotionally intelligent. Aunt Lin was so charmed that the corners of her mouth had been lifted the entire time. During their chat, Su Jia called again to say that Yan Han wouldn’t be coming home for dinner. Aunt Lin made Pei Lang’s dinner, and after cleaning up, she left.

Yan Han had helped him so much. Pei Lang felt it was only right to thank him in person. After eating, he sat in the living room waiting. It wasn’t until almost midnight that Su Jia pushed Yan Han back home.

This was the first time Pei Lang had seen Yan Han needing someone to push him in a wheelchair. When they entered the door, Pei Lang realized that although Yan Han was sitting upright, his eyes were tightly closed. Even the little chibi on his shoulder was quietly lying in the rocking chair.

“Is he asleep?” Pei Lang stood up to greet him. Su Jia made a shushing gesture and spoke softly.

“Boss went back to the old house today. He told me not to follow him. I didn’t know when he left, but by the time he called me, it was already past eleven. He drank like this at a bar.” Su Jia’s voice was soft, his expression serious and filled with concern. “The boss has trouble moving around, and since… he hasn’t gotten drunk. I don’t know what happened today.”

“Old house, is that his father’s side?” Pei Lang stepped aside to let Su Jia pass. It was the first time the two of them met without arguing. They helped Yan Han into the elevator and up to the floor with the bedroom.

“Yeah, sigh~” Su Jia sighed deeply. “The boss is a neat freak and a person with standards. He’s proud and stubborn, so even with his legs like this, he refuses to let anyone serve him. That’s why, apart from the cleaning lady, no one can enter his room. Today, he’s drunk, and I don’t know what to do.”

Su Jia was really worried.

The boss doesn’t let anyone into his room and he won’t let anyone help with his washing or getting into bed. The psychological blow of his disability was already huge for him. If he was served in this state, it would only prove to him that he was useless. For the sake of his dignity and pride, even with his disability, he insisted on being self-sufficient.

It was rare for him to get drunk today. Su Jia didn’t know what to do.

Leave the boss in the living room? The boss had high standards for his sleeping place. If the boss were drunk and he just left him somewhere, the next day, the boss would probably deduct his salary.

If they entered the room to take care of him—First, the boss wouldn’t let anyone in. Secondly, who would change his clothes? Who would bathe him? If they entered the room, they might as well forget about the salary.

The elevator stopped at the designated floor, and the three of them went out together.

“Do you know what our relationship is?” Pei Lang’s sudden question caught Su Jia off guard. He then gave Pei Lang a disgusted look, sizing him up before coming to a conclusion. “A sugar daddy relationship, right? Though I don’t know why the boss would have a sugar daddy relationship with you, especially since he doesn’t like you and still lets you stay, but this is the only explanation for it.”

“Of course not.” Pei Lang smiled mysteriously. “He’s my older brother!”

“Older brother? The boss is your older brother?” Su Jia was surprised and seemed to believe it.

“I unilaterally recognize him as my older brother,” Pei Lang explained. “You’ve helped a lot with my situation today, so how about you hand my older brother over to me as a favor? Consider it my way of thanking you.”

Su Jia understood. His expression of disdain deepened. The two of them stood at the bedroom door with Yan Han but didn’t make any further moves. “What older brother? You really want to seduce our boss, don’t you? Seeing the boss drunk, you’re eager to take advantage of the situation. Pei Lang, I’m telling you, our boss will never look at you. If the boss ever looks at you, I’ll eat shit on a live stream at the company!”

“Oh~” Pei Lang wasn’t angry and didn’t argue, smiling indifferently. “Just think about it. If I take care of Mr. Yan, even if he’s angry, I have nothing to lose. But you’re different. You might lose half a year’s salary. And if things get worse, you could lose this job. Tsk tsk tsk~~ While Mr. Yan might not be soft on salary deductions, your high-paying job is one that others are desperate to get. Losing it over something like this would be a shame. I feel bad for you.”

That made a bit of sense.

Su Jia still hesitated, so Pei Lang asked, “Otherwise, can you find someone more suitable than me?”

No, he couldn’t! Su Jia’s heart answered. After some careful thought, he gritted his teeth and agreed. “If the boss asks tomorrow, I’ll say it was your idea. Is that alright?”

“Of course, no problem. Now… open the door.” Taking care of Yan Han wasn’t something Pei Lang absolutely had to do, but he thought the man looked both serious and cute sitting upright in his drunken state. Moreover, since he’d been helped so much earlier in the day, looking after him now felt like a way to return the favor.

As for whether he would be angry, that could be dealt with tomorrow.

Su Jia opened the door to Yan Han’s bedroom. The room was neat and orderly, so much so that it made one hesitate to step inside.

Pushing the wheelchair into the room, there was a large sofa, likely used by Yan Han for occasional work in the bedroom. Since Yan Han hadn’t showered yet and wasn’t planning to place him on the bed, Pei Lang decided to first place him on the sofa.

Then, Su Jia watched as Pei Lang bent down and effortlessly lifted his boss from the wheelchair into a princess carry, placing him gently on the sofa. Despite the significant difference in their sizes, Pei Lang managed to lift him with ease.

Su Jia was immediately impressed!

Indeed, working out really paid off; this was a huge step toward becoming a true powerhouse.

The boss wasn’t exactly light, but sitting in a wheelchair, it was hard to tell.

If the boss knew he’d been carried like that, what would his reaction be? Would he strangle Pei Lang? Probably. He definitely would.

Su Jia, lost in thought, seemed to already envision Pei Lang’s miserable fate. When Pei Lang came over, Su Jia didn’t react immediately. “Do you want to supervise me while I take care of Mr. Yan?”

Interrupting his thoughts, Su Jia took a large step back and waved his hands to refuse. “No, no, no. If you’re looking for trouble, go ahead, don’t drag me into it.”

Clearly, he was trying to push all the responsibility onto Pei Lang. After saying that, he hurriedly left. Pei Lang was left helpless, closing the door behind him. He then grabbed Yan Han’s pajamas and went to the bathroom to adjust the water temperature.

Yan Han’s room was much more stylish than his own, and it was quite spacious. After filling the bath, Pei Lang took off Yan Han’s clothes. He appeared as if he were taking care of a child, completely focused and without distraction. Once undressed, he picked Yan Han up in a princess carry and moved him into the bathroom.

Yan Han wasn’t light. Though Pei Lang seemed to carry him easily, it was actually a short burst of strength. If it weren’t for the recent workouts, Pei Lang probably wouldn’t have been able to lift him. Throughout the process, Yan Han remained very quiet, not throwing a drunken tantrum, which made Pei Lang have a good impression of him.

After the bath, Pei Lang struggled to dry Yan Han’s body before carefully laying him on the bed and changing him into clean pajamas, finally allowing him to sleep peacefully.

Once everything was done, Pei Lang didn’t want to leave.

He had glanced at Yan Han’s legs earlier. They didn’t seem any different from a normal person’s. There was no muscle atrophy. Perhaps Yan Han had been doing rehabilitation exercises in private.

He still wanted to stand. He must have tried many methods, but none had worked, which is why he probably believed in the superstitions about marriage bringing luck. Although it was the old man’s idea and although Yan Han was forced into it, if he really didn’t want it, no one could truly force him.

A perfectly healthy person, yet unable to stand on his own.

Pei Lang’s thoughts drifted to the little chibi on Yan Han’s shoulder, active and agile, running and jumping. This made him more convinced that Yan Han wanted to stand.

As he thought about it, Pei Lang’s gaze fell on the small chibi peacefully sleeping in the bubble on Yan Han’s shoulder. He had never observed it so closely before. Curiosity drove him to poke at it. The chibi didn’t react and the bubble didn’t burst.

“But we’ve been married for so long, and your legs haven’t improved.” From the time the original owner married to now, it had probably been a few months. “Is it because of this? Is that why you drank today after being questioned by your father?”

It was impossible to get an answer from a drunk person. Even if Yan Han wasn’t drunk, he wouldn’t respond to this question. “Forget it, get some rest. Thanks for today.”

Pei Lang stood up to leave, but Yan Han started to stir restlessly, muttering in his sleep.

Pei Lang leaned closer to listen carefully. “What did you say?”

“Pain…”

“Where does it hurt?”

Pei Lang asked again. After a long pause, Yan Han finally murmured out the word “legs”. Pei Lang lifted his sleeping pants and touched his legs, which were indeed burning. Yan Han’s legs weren’t completely numb; he just couldn’t exert strength and his pain sensitivity was low. However, occasionally, he would feel sharp pain, much like after a car accident, a heart-wrenching pain.

He had drunk today, and who knew what else he had eaten, which triggered his old injuries. Drunk and unconscious, the pain brought him back to some awareness, in a semi-conscious state. The alcohol numbed his nerves, allowing him, who would never usually cry out in pain, to let his guard down.

“Does it feel better now?” Pei Lang didn’t know what to do. It was almost 1 a.m. and he didn’t have the family doctor’s number. Should he call Su Jia? It wasn’t that urgent. Su Jia needed rest too.

So, he tried gently massaging Yan Han’s calves with both hands. His palms were cold. When they touched Yan Han’s heated legs, his pain seemed to lessen considerably.

Yan Han stopped complaining. Pei Lang was about to leave, but as soon as he tried to pull away, Yan Han frowned and became displeased. “…Don’t go… Keep going…”

“Are you this domineering when you ask for something?” Pei Lang couldn’t help but chuckle, continuing with a bit of teasing. Yan Han would become upset if he let go, so after trying a few times, Pei Lang just gave up.

Forget it, forget it, this is a way to repay him. After all, he helped me so much.

After comforting himself, Pei Lang persevered through the ache in his hands, massaging and kneading Yan Han’s legs.

Hours later, when the alcohol in Yan Han’s body had mostly been processed and the pain in his legs had subsided, Pei Lang finally got a chance to rest. Exhausted, he fell asleep beside Yan Han’s bed.

Before falling asleep, he still wondered why Yan Han’s legs hurt.

It shouldn’t be from the alcohol; he used to get injured frequently during his martial arts training. His father was used to giving him a sip of medicinal wine. Alcohol shouldn’t trigger pain from old injuries.

They both slept deeply. Pei Lang was just too tired. The next day, at 10 a.m., the sun slanted through the glass window, casting golden shards of light onto the floor.

Yan Han suddenly opened his eyes. He saw someone lying by the bed and froze for a moment. His eyes narrowed and a storm of emotions surged within him, a murderous aura filling the air.

Pei Lang was slowly roused from his sleep by the sharp murderous intent. The golden sunlight fell on his face, and his beautiful facial features softened like a dream. When he opened his eyes, the sunlight stung his eyes, so he raised a hand to rub them, turning his head to realize that Yan Han was awake. Still half-asleep, Pei Lang greeted him without any defense. “Good morning~”

He yawned as he spoke. His head dropped back onto the blanket, falling asleep again.

Yan Han fixed his gaze on the person beside the bed as if trying to see through him. “Who let you into my room?”

When he saw the time, a sharp pang of anxiety hit Yan Han. He had overslept and missed the morning meeting.

In his entire career, he had never been late!
