MMLDU Chapter 69

Yan Xiuyuan's wedding

That evening, the two of them officially moved in together.

Pei Lang only brought his daily necessities. As for the creative equipment, Yan Han had already prepared more advanced ones for him, even better and more complete than the ones he used when he was an award-winning actor. Pei Lang was so thrilled when he entered and started fiddling with everything, his eyes sparkling with delight. He couldn’t be more pleased.

Yan Han’s room was very large. Pei Lang’s things didn’t take up much space, actually adding more life to the room.

Yan Han saw Pei Lang as a fox, and as for himself, he was the old wolfdog—one that had just started experiencing these things.

Whenever they had free time, Yan Han loved nothing more than holding Pei Lang and kissing him—on the cheeks, lips, neck, and even his fingers. It made Pei Lang both helpless and amused. If not for Yan Han’s legs being inconvenient, Pei Lang might have been pinned down long ago.

By the end of the day, Pei Lang felt like his face was covered in kisses, no matter how many times he washed his face, it never seemed enough. By the evening, Yan Han grew even bolder. Pei Lang seriously suspected that Yan Han had secretly read more inappropriate books and was putting the techniques from those books into practice.

Since they had shared an intimate moment, Yan Han had developed a taste for it and couldn’t stop thinking about it at night, insisting on having another go with Pei Lang. Of course, he also helped Pei Lang in return.

Before long, it was the day of Yan Xiuyuan’s wedding, and Pei Lang was in a fantastic mood. How could he not be? Yan Xiuyuan getting married meant the task was complete, and the system’s promise would be fulfilled.

Yan Xiuyuan had never wanted to marry Pei Ziqing in the first place, so the wedding was as casual as possible. No official announcement and no large guest list—only immediate family members attended. Pei Ziqing understood Yan Xiuyuan’s intentions and, in order to save face, had to bribe marketing accounts to say they simply wanted a low-key wedding.

The wedding was held at Yan Family’s seaside property, on a beach with crystal-clear blue water, the sunlight shining on the soft sand, reflecting golden light. A low-key wedding was Yan Xiuyuan’s wish, but since the Yan Family was so wealthy, even though the guest list was small, the setup was still lavish.

With white and pink roses, delicious pre-meal pastries, and rare, aged red wine, everyone in their finest attire became part of the breathtaking scenery of the wedding.

When Pei Lang and Yan Han arrived, they first went to greet Old Master Yan. Hand in hand, together side by side, they appeared even more affectionate and sweet than the couple of the day.

Before the scheduled time, Yan Xiuyuan had already dressed and was wearing the groom’s boutonniere. From a distance, he saw the two of them together side by side. His heart ached, his eyes stinging with pain. One was someone he loved but could never have, and the other was someone who held his life in their hands. Seeing these two together felt like a torment to both his body and soul. His expression immediately darkened.

Pei Ziqing stood behind Yan Xiuyuan, following his gaze. He could see that Yan Xiuyuan was starting to feel jealous because of Pei Lang again. Pei Ziqing didn’t know the meaning of continuing this wedding. He loved Yan Xiuyuan, but not to the point of being unable to live without him.

Back when Yan Xiuyuan and he had trampled on Pei Lang, it was to prove to Pei Lang that Yan Xiuyuan would eventually marry him1PZQ. Now, he was just seeing it through to the end. Though his obsession had long since changed its flavor, as Yan Xiuyuan’s heart had already shifted.

At the appointed time, the wedding officially began.

The few guests took their seats, the emcee took the stage, and the couple walked arm in arm to the melody of a piano song, announcing their vows and exchanging rings under the witness of everyone, completing the ceremony.

The ceremony was over, and it was time to eat.

There were only two large round tables, and they were barely filled.

Pei Lang, Yan Han, and Old Master Yan sat at one table, while the other table was occupied by Yan Xiuyuan’s family, along with Pei Ziqing’s parents. The two2PZQ’s parents who had gotten their wish couldn’t hide the expressions on their faces. They were almost grinning from ear to ear as if their smiles were reaching the sun.

Their son had made it, marrying into the Yan family—one of the top-tier families. They were basking in the glory.

“Would you like some steak?” Yan Han asked, but he had already cut the steak into smaller pieces and placed them on Pei Lang’s plate.

“Thank you, husband.” It was delicious. Yan Tong only had one son. For his son’s wedding, everything had to be the best—the banquet had been arranged with a top chef in advance. Pei Lang was enjoying the meal immensely.

Yan Han: “One bite of steak, one kiss. I’m counting.”

Pei Lang: So feeding had conditions. Tonight, he would surely collect the interest. As expected of someone in business—so calculating.

“You’ve worked hard. I can do it myself.” With hands and feet, Pei Lang could cut it himself. A simple slice of steak on his plate for a kiss—who could resist such a deal?

“Refuse once, ten kisses,” Yan Han said fiercely and dominantly, thinking this would intimidate Pei Lang. Pei Lang ignored him, moving his chair a little farther from Yan Han and starting to cut the steak himself.

Yan Han didn’t get angry. He wheeled his chair over. “You’re my wife. You can’t run away.”

The old man had been watching their interaction closely. Though he was old, his eyes were still sharp and his hearing wasn’t bad. He clearly overheard their conversation. His son, who was usually so cold-faced in his thirties, was now smiling, with the corners of his mouth upturned. His tone was firm, but it had a touch of warmth as he chased his little wife around the table, all while teasing him.

This was the first time the old man had seen his son act this way.

It seemed that the two were in tune with each other.

Nice, I thought it would take years for someone with his personality to succeed, but he managed to win so quickly. “Han’er, don’t bully Xiao Lang. Do you think I’m deaf? You can kiss him after dinner.”

Pei Lang’s face immediately turned red. He shot a glare at the smug Yan Han before obediently sitting down and not running away.

The two tables were close together, and Yan Xiuyuan could see everything clearly. He was so angry that he nearly ground his teeth, but he still had to take Pei Ziqing to toast the elders.

The whole table was filled with elders.

Old Master Yan had the highest status, so he was the first person to be toasted. Yan Xiuyuan led Pei Ziqing to Old Master Yan’s side and said the toast words. Since Old Master Yan was unwell, he used tea instead of wine. Since they were all sitting at the same table, there was no need to move around—Yan Xiuyuan and Pei Ziqing just raised their glasses and toasted Yan Han and Pei Lang together.

Yan Xiuyuan and Pei Ziqing stood, raising their glasses, while Yan Han remained seated. Pei Lang stayed seated with him. Yan Xiuyuan’s gaze focused on Pei Lang, but after receiving a warning from Yan Han, he quickly looked away.

“Uncle, Uncle…” Under the pressure from Yan Han, he reluctantly called Pei Lang “Uncle” and took a sip of wine to move things along. Yan Xiuyuan’s attitude was dismissive. He minimized the wedding formalities as much as possible. After eating and drinking, it was already the afternoon. Yan Han led Pei Lang away first.

It felt more comfortable once they returned home. Pei Lang seemed excited all the way back. Yan Han couldn’t figure out what had him so happy. But just seeing Pei Lang’s sparkling eyes made him happy as well.

Once they were home, Pei Lang waited eagerly, but the system didn’t show up. He was starting to suspect the system had been deceiving him. In his frustration, Pei Lang began thinking about ways to sabotage the marriage that Yan Xiuyuan and Pei Ziqing had just established.

It was probably his unsettling thoughts that made the scammer system appear.

“Finally out?” Pei Lang said coldly, and the system responded fearfully.

“Congratulations, host, for completing the task,” the system said, sounding obviously pleased.

“Thanks. Now, keep your promise,” Pei Lang replied, not wanting to waste any more time talking and just wanting the promise to be fulfilled quickly.

Pei Lang had the ability to make them marry. He also had the means to break them apart. Moreover, Yan Xiuyuan was still thinking about Pei Lang. As long as Pei Lang did something, the two3YXY and PZQ would definitely divorce. The scammer system didn’t dare to deceive him anymore. If the plot collapsed, the system would be the one to suffer the most.

“Uh, well…” However, the system didn’t immediately fulfill the promise and instead hesitated.

Pei Lang’s nerves suddenly tensed. “You’re not going to tell me that the promise you made can’t be kept, are you?”

“No, no, it’s not that. You know my abilities are limited. You can either choose the golden finger or the promise. If you want Yan Han to stand up, the golden finger bound to him will need to be retracted.”

Pei Lang breathed a sigh of relief. “Got it. It’s best if he can stand up. That golden finger doesn’t really serve much purpose. If it’s retracted, so be it.”

However, just the thought of retracting the golden finger and not being able to see the cute and lovable little chibi made Pei Lang feel a little reluctant. However, compared to that, it was more important that Yan Han could stand up.

“Go to the bathroom now. I’ll pass the potion to you.” The system handed over the item directly. To avoid being seen by Yan Han, Pei Lang stood up, went to the bathroom, and closed the door. Not long after, he held a brightly colored potion in a glass bottle.

“Does this really work?” Pei Lang was half-skeptical, gripping the bottle tightly, afraid it would slip and break.

“It works. Normally, we could just make him stand up directly, but that would be too sudden and could raise suspicion. Using the potion with a massage as cover is just right.”

That made sense. If someone who had been disabled for many years suddenly realized they could stand, they might be excited, but more likely they would be confused and it could be reported and studied by the media.

“Goodbye, host. I wish you happiness,” the system hurriedly said, getting straight to the point as always.

When Pei Lang stepped out, Yan Han was waiting at the door. There was no longer a little chibi on his shoulder. Pei Lang couldn’t directly see what was going on inside his heart. Apart from their first meeting, this was the second time Pei Lang had faced the completely serious and cold-faced Yan Han. He couldn’t help feeling a little nervous.

When Yan Han saw the bottle in Pei Lang’s hand, he asked curiously, “What’s this?”

“A good thing,” Pei Lang smiled mysteriously, pushing Yan Han toward the bed. “Hurry, take off your pants and get in bed.”

Yan Han’s eyes flashed with a hint of excitement, thinking it was time for them to do that thing. His hands trembled with joy as he started unbuckling his pants. Pei Lang saw his little emotional shift. Even without the little chibi, Yan Han still looked adorably contrasting.

“I’ll go take a shower first.”

“A shower? No need, just get in bed.” Pei Lang couldn’t wait. He wanted to quickly try out the effect of the potion. Since Yan Han had difficulty moving, Pei Lang bent down and princess-carried him to the bed. Yan Han was just too big. Pei Lang didn’t find the right angle earlier, almost pulling a muscle.

Pei Lang was impatient, while Yan Han was eager to try. However, when he sat on the bed, Pei Lang poured the so-called “good stuff” he mentioned into his hand and began massaging his legs.

The medicine quickly absorbed into Yan Han’s skin. Pei Lang massaged with great care and seriousness, making sure to attend to every inch of Yan Han’s legs. Yan Han calmed down and stared at Pei Lang, who was focused. Only when the medicine was used up did Pei Lang ask, “Do you feel anything unusual?”

“No,” Yan Han shook his head.

“How could there be nothing? Try to feel it carefully,” Pei Lang said, clearly anxious, holding his breath so Yan Han could truly sense it. But it really felt the same as usual, the only difference being that this time Pei Lang didn’t even spare his toes.

Yan Han shook his head again. Pei Lang’s heart sank, and his expression immediately darkened. He thought the system had deceived him again, and he collapsed. “I think… I can’t make you stand up again.”
