MMLDU Chapter 72

Even filming fight scenes for three days straight isn't this exhausting.

The small island boasted stunning scenery and was a top honeymoon destination for couples. Yan Han had investments here. The hotel was part of his portfolio. From the floor-to-ceiling windows of their suite, a vast expanse of blue sky and turquoise ocean stretched out as far as the eye could see.

“What should we eat later? Are there any signature dishes around here?” Pei Lang reclined lazily in a chair, his bare feet pressing into the soft carpet. His fair skin and the elegant curve of his ankle exuded effortless allure.

Yan Han turned away from the window, his gaze deepening. In just a few long strides, he crossed the room and effortlessly scooped Pei Lang into his arms, placing him gently on the large bed. “I’m hungry too. Let me eat you first, then we’ll think about food.”

With that, he leaned over and pressed down, his lips grazing Pei Lang’s face and trailing down to his neck, lingering briefly before gently licking his enticing collarbone. The tingling sensation spread through Pei Lang’s entire body, and his waist softened instantly.

Yan Han’s breathing grew heavier, his actions more eager, as if he couldn’t wait any longer. While nibbling at Pei Lang’s skin, he deftly unbuttoned his shirt, pulling it open to reveal expanses of smooth, pale skin and a beautifully defined shoulder and neck line.

“You started this fire, so it’s your responsibility to put it out,” Yan Han murmured, his voice thick with desire. Already deep and magnetic, his deliberately lowered tone was intoxicating, but the words themselves made Pei Lang want to roll his eyes.

The arousal Yan Han had ignited cooled immediately at that one line. Annoyed yet helpless, Pei Lang slapped Yan Han lightly on the head—not too hard, but not gentle either. Yan Han sat up, rubbing his head with a wounded expression. “What’s wrong?”

“If you keep quoting nonsense from those books to me, I’ll smack you every time I hear it,” Pei Lang said, puffing with frustration.

Yan Han blinked in confusion, clearly not understanding what had gone wrong. “You don’t like it?”

“Who would like hearing such cringy lines? It makes me feel like you’re role-playing a character from one of those novels, dragging me into the script along with you.”

“That’s not it—I really like you,” Yan Han hurriedly explained, flustered. Even a composed CEO could stumble over words when trying to justify himself. “I learned those lines from the books. They helped me pursue you, so I thought you enjoyed that kind of thing. I figured they must work if they got me this far.”

“…” Pei Lang didn’t know how to respond. How could he stay mad after that explanation? Still, hadn’t he already told Yan Han not to read those books? Why couldn’t he understand?

If Pei Lang hadn’t been able to hear Yan Han’s thoughts and see the sincerity behind his actions—and if he hadn’t just so happened to like him back—there was no way this kind of approach would have worked on anyone. “Loving someone comes from genuine feelings. It’s not about copying what someone else does. Sweet words should come naturally, born out of the moment.”

“I understand now. If you don’t like it, I won’t do it again,” Yan Han promised earnestly.

Yan Han, feeling dejected, lowered his head and started undressing. Despite his downcast mood, there was still a certain part of him that seemed full of energy—proud and strong, which made Pei Lang feel both amused and helpless. Though he could no longer see Yan Han’s inner world directly, he was certain that at this moment, Yan Han’s mind was already running wild, giving in to his desires.

“I’m so useless, I upset you. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have kept stopping me from touching there.”

Indeed, they had only gone as far as kissing and touching with their hands, never reaching the final step. This had left Yan Han frustrated and somewhat wronged; after all the time he had spent learning, he had never had the chance to put it into practice.

“I’m just worried about your legs,” Pei Lang explained. “Although you can stand, prolonged lack of exercise can still cause injury.”

While speaking, Yan Han had already finished undressing and was pressing his body down. “You’re right, I’ll be careful. We can pick a position that won’t strain my legs.”

“You…” Pei Lang sighed in resignation and finally gave in. “Then don’t push yourself too hard, I’ll take the lead.”

He was still concerned that Yan Han might go too rough and hurt his legs.

Pei Lang exercised regularly, with many action scenes during filming, giving him strong endurance. His muscles were toned but not overly bulky, just perfectly proportioned. If he took the lead, it would be much easier and Yan Han wouldn’t be as exhausted.

With the green light, Yan Han’s eyes gleamed, flashing with a mischievous glow of triumph, although Pei Lang didn’t notice his shy and strange expression.

It was both their first time, and they had been secretly learning. For Pei Lang, it was a cautious step-by-step process, afraid of pain. He was careful with every movement until he finally became comfortable and realized there was no need for further hesitation. Enjoying the moment was the right path.

Originally, Pei Lang was supposed to take the lead, but somehow, control shifted to Yan Han, as if he had turned into a different person. Still the innocent older man on the outside, but now a pent-up beast, he pounded with force, making Pei Lang cry out “husband” in submission. Pei Lang felt both pleasure and fear, worried he might collapse on the bed. Despite his good physical condition, he almost passed out from exhaustion, only stopping several hours later.

Exhausted and famished, Pei Lang didn’t want to move a single finger. Yan Han, however, was full of energy, lifting him into a princess carry and taking him to the bathroom to shower, before calling someone in to clean up the messy bed.

After cleaning him up, Yan Han carried Pei Lang back and laid him on the fresh, dry bed. Pei Lang, frustrated, gritted his teeth. His waist ached and his legs were sore—he probably wouldn’t feel better for days.

Their travel plans were ruined. In this state, how could he go diving, or travel around to enjoy the sights and foods? All he could do was lie in bed. “I think you did this on purpose. After all this trouble, you got me like this. If I’d known we couldn’t go out and play, I’d have stayed home.”

Yan Han, having eaten and feeling no guilt, smiled slightly, unable to hide his satisfaction. “I can carry you to the places you want to go. By the way, were you uncomfortable just now?”

Although it had been enjoyable, Pei Lang almost felt like he was going to die…

“I’ve never been this tired even after three days of action scenes.” Enraged, Pei Lang grabbed a pillow and threw it at Yan Han. Yan Han caught it and, with gentle motions, tucked the pillow behind Pei Lang’s lower back.

“Does this feel better?”

“I’m so hungry…” Pei Lang lay flat, feeling lifeless. He had no will left, unaware that Yan Han had already arranged for food to be brought soon.

Pei Lang was in a state of exhaustion, but Yan Han took good care of him, feeding him personally.

With the care he received, Pei Lang wasn’t as grumpy anymore, especially since the food was delicious. Eating something good lifted his mood. “By the way, do you need any actors for your shows? Let me try it out. I can handle any role.”

Filming was good, especially since once Pei Lang is on set, he’ll be there for months. With Yan Han, though, the only thing on his mind seemed to be how to exhaust Pei Lang completely. Now that they had gotten started, it seemed like they’d be doing this again and again.

“You’re trying to avoid me, aren’t you?” Yan Han saw through his thoughts instantly. Pei Lang smiled but didn’t deny it.

After Pei Lang had eaten his fill, Yan Han naturally began eating from the leftover food with the bowl and utensils Pei Lang had used. “There are plenty of roles. I’ll give you a chance to choose.”

Knowing that Pei Lang loved acting, Yan Han wouldn’t stand in the way of his career, even though he wasn’t exactly thrilled about it.

Pei Lang was truly talented. Such talent shouldn’t be hidden due to personal desires. What Yan Han should do was provide Pei Lang with the best platform, allowing his talent to shine without reservation and become someone others admired.

And he, standing by Pei Lang’s side, would also be envied and admired.

“Really? As expected of my husband, so domineering.” Pei Lang’s flirtatious smile hadn’t faded. This smile almost made Yan Han lose control and press down again.

“Come work at my company, then I can see you during my working hours. You can pick any resources you want.” Lanjin Entertainment controlled half of the entertainment industry’s resources. This was the kind of offer every aspiring actor dreamed of hearing. Pei Lang was no exception. He agreed immediately.

As Pei Lang had said, he really couldn’t get out of bed. He had never felt this miserable in his life. Even when he pulled a muscle from martial arts training, it wasn’t this severe. It wasn’t pain, but a weakness in his muscles that left him too exhausted to do anything but lie down.

To make the trip worthwhile, Yan Han still took him out for two days of sightseeing. He used a car to go wherever it could reach. For places the car couldn’t go, Yan Han carried or piggybacked him. Though it was embarrassing, when Pei Lang thought about how he ended up in this condition because of Yan Han, he felt it was only natural.

Afterward, they went to see Old Master Yan.

When Old Master Yan heard that his son had stood up, he was so happy that his mouth wouldn’t close. That night, he couldn’t sleep out of excitement and gave a large sum of gratitude money to the fortune-teller who had predicted this outcome.

Seeing Pei Lang and Yan Han walk into the old house side by side, the Old Master Yan was stunned. As he looked at them, his eyes welled up. They were so well-matched, so destined for each other. How else could they have become better individuals after being together?

Pei Lang had turned his life around and was becoming more and more lovable, while Yan Han had, as the fortune-teller predicted, stood up again. If this wasn’t fate, what was? Only true fate could bring about such mutual accomplishment.

Yan Han’s recovery wasn’t made public, known only to a few close people. He had his own plans. Pei Lang didn’t ask any further.

Pei Lang successfully signed with Lanjin Entertainment. After the company made the official announcement, Pei Lang was once again thrust into the spotlight. Lanjin Entertainment was a big company with great resources, excellent benefits, and a proven track record of producing hits. Many actors scrambled to get in, but Pei Lang had effortlessly entered. It didn’t take long for the netizens to erupt in a frenzy.

Many actors who wanted to join but couldn’t, were filled with jealousy and resentment. They made sarcastic comments, trying to stir up trouble. However, within an hour, their posts were deleted, as if some force had pressured them to back down.

As a result, Pei Lang was once again the target of online criticism.

They said he was riding on the coattails of his backer, using connections to dominate the entertainment industry, accusing him of lacking both talent and skills while stealing resources meant for serious, skilled actors. The accusations were extremely vicious.

But after the previous incidents, no one dared to openly attack him anymore. After all, Pei Lang’s backer wasn’t someone ordinary. They could hate him, but they couldn’t do anything about it, so they swore to never watch any of Pei Lang’s works.

Since he had signed the contract, Pei Lang was now free to enter the company without any obstruction. No one stopped him.

That day, Pei Lang dressed up in fine clothes and took a taxi to the company. It was around lunchtime when he arrived. He called Su Jia, who pretended to lead him to Yan Han’s office.

After bringing him in, Su Jia left.

It was Pei Lang’s first time at the company, and he had dressed up specifically. He looked so good that it made the other actors in the company pale in comparison. His sudden visit surprised Yan Han. “What are you doing here?”

“I came to see where you usually work,” Pei Lang said as he pulled up a chair and sat beside Yan Han.

“Since you’re here, I’ll have Su Jia bring in some scripts for you to pick from.”

What had started as a casual visit turned into a chance to choose a script.

Soon, Su Jia brought in a thick stack of scripts, a variety of genres, from leading roles to supporting ones. Pei Lang carefully sifted through them, eventually selecting a city-based suspense thriller, a movie script. The plot’s twists and turns in the suspense genre particularly caught his interest.

After choosing the script, they had lunch together. Yan Han went to the changing room to swap clothes. He put on a mask and sunglasses, then stood up, ready to leave with Pei Lang. No one would have guessed that the cold-faced CEO they saw was actually the same person as the masked man.
