MOFB Chapter 80

Side story 1: The start of school

In September, Jiang Heng walked through the gates of Z University with his luggage in hand.

Luckily, his college entrance exam results were good. This year, Z University raised its admission score by a few points, and Jiang Heng barely made it onto the acceptance line.

Z University was just a few subway stops away from B University, where Shen Huaizhi had applied, so meeting up wasn’t difficult.

However, Ruan Shu thought things through carefully. After all, there were many Alphas in college, and Jiang Heng was handsome with a good temperament. What if someone else snatched him away? Who knew if Jiang Heng’s temper would allow him to hold onto someone. After discussing it with Shen’s father, Ruan Shu bought a spacious apartment for them between the two schools. Once military training was over, they could move in.

As a result, Jiang Heng didn’t bring much with him.

When he entered the dormitory, the door was slightly ajar, and there were already people inside.

Jiang Heng paused for a moment, feeling somewhat unaccustomed.

For one, he had been independent since he was young and had never lived with classmates. For another, this was the Omega dormitory building, and on his way up, he had received numerous looks from the Omega students.

Jiang Heng’s hair had grown a bit longer since graduation, but it was still a buzz cut. He hadn’t slacked off on exercise during the summer, so compared to these thin Omegas, he looked like a true Alpha. His figure was superior, and he walked up the stairs with his suitcase without even breaking a sweat. Wearing a short-sleeve shirt, his arms displayed a thin layer of muscle.

Add to that his naturally sharp features, he looked both handsome and rebellious.

Jiang Heng hesitated for a moment before pushing the door open.

Inside the dormitory, there were already two boys.

One was wearing a white shirt, about half a head shorter than Jiang Heng. He was pale and thin, also quite handsome, and was talking to the other boy with a smile in his eyes.

The other boy was wearing a blue T-shirt, about the same height as the one in the white shirt, and similarly pale and thin.

Jiang Heng’s gaze froze for a moment. He silently clicked his tongue, feeling out of place.

The two boys noticed him and exchanged glances. It was the boy in the white shirt who spoke first, though he hesitated, “Excuse me… are you looking for someone?”

Jiang Heng didn’t look like someone who was moving in.

Jiang Heng lowered his eyes, forcing a smile, trying to appear friendly, “No, I’m living here.”

The boy in the white shirt was clearly surprised, and he stammered, “No… no, this is the Omega dormitory…”

Jiang Heng chuckled and pushed his suitcase inside. “The aunt downstairs checks the badge. They don’t let anyone in who’s not an Omega.”

Whether in high school, college, or society, there were always strict gender-based distinctions, especially in schools. Omega dormitories were better than Alpha dormitories, and they were located far apart, with strict identity checks for entry.

After all, Omegas were unable to resist in certain areas.

After speaking, Jiang Heng didn’t intend to continue the conversation. He lowered his head to find his name on the desk.

The dormitory was a four-person room, with bunk beds—upper bunk for the bed, lower bunk for the desk and wardrobe.

As he lowered his head, the patch on the back of his neck was visible.

The boy in the white shirt and the one in the blue shirt both sighed in relief and began to introduce themselves.

“My name is Lin Bai.”

“I’m Mi Yangyang.”

Jiang Heng took out his luggage. “Jiang Heng.”
After saying that, he didn’t intend to continue the conversation, but Lin Bai, noticing how few things Jiang Heng had brought, and that he didn’t have any sunscreen or skincare products, became more familiar and said, “Why did you only bring so few clothes?”

“You’re starting military training the day after tomorrow, didn’t you forget to bring sunscreen?”
As Lin Bai spoke, he sat down at his spot and started applying sunscreen.

Jiang Heng: “…”

Although there were some Omegas in high school, he had never seen anyone apply such products.
He was silent for a moment. “I don’t need it.”

After answering, he glanced at his phone. Seeing that Jiang Heng didn’t seem willing to talk, Lin Bai didn’t continue, and instead resumed talking to Mi Yangyang.

“When I came in this morning, I saw that car at the school gate! It’s really cool! And the guy driving it! Also a handsome guy! An especially handsome Alpha!”

He paused for a moment, then looked at Jiang Heng. When he said it earlier, he hadn’t compared it to Jiang Heng, but now that Jiang Heng was here, Lin Bai thought, his roommate was also handsome, that ultra A-level handsome. Lin Bai wasn’t one of those Omegas who easily swooned, but he couldn’t help but admit that Jiang Heng’s looks were certainly eye-catching.
“He’s… about as handsome as Jiang Heng.”

Jiang Heng, who had been looking down at his phone, was caught off guard when his name was mentioned and looked up at the other person.

Lin Bai and Mi Yangyang were both looking at him at that moment, and when Jiang Heng glanced at them, both of their faces turned red.
Jiang Heng: “…”

He raised an eyebrow. “I’m going out to eat. If you need to clean, do it after I get back, or leave me some space?”

Lin Bai immediately waved his hand. “Let’s go together, then! We were just talking about going out to eat.”

Jiang Heng paused for a moment before continuing to type a message. After thinking for a bit, he swallowed his rejection and decided to go along, since they were heading out in the same direction. They could just part ways when they reached the school gate.

Jiang Heng wasn’t a talkative person, so along the way, Lin Bai continued chatting with Mi Yangyang, occasionally asking Jiang Heng a few questions.

Lin Bai and Mi Yangyang had been good friends since elementary school and had ended up at the same university, which was something people envied.

When they reached the school gate, Jiang Heng immediately spotted Shen Huaizhi’s car parked outside, with quite a few people turning to look at it.

After graduating high school, Shen’s father had bought Shen Huaizhi a new car, and it was around that time that Jiang Heng found out that the Shen family had an underground garage. Shen’s father said that once Jiang Heng got his driver’s license, he would buy him a new car too.

Jiang Heng looked at the garage full of cars and felt a headache coming on.

“Wow, that car is still there! Yangyang, quick, look!” Lin Bai suddenly became excited, making Jiang Heng glance at him.

“Jiang Heng, do you see that car? It’s worth millions! A limited edition!”

Mi Yangyang felt a little embarrassed. “Lower your voice, we’ve seen it, we’ve seen it.”

Lin Bai didn’t listen to him and continued looking over there, muttering, “How about we go over and walk around? Maybe we’ll still see that handsome guy who was driving.”

Jiang Heng: “…”

Jiang Heng hadn’t realized that the handsome guy Lin Bai was talking about was Shen Huaizhi, nor did he know how much the car was worth, but yes, the car was indeed impressive.

Seeing that they were really about to head over, Jiang Heng paused for a moment. “Wait.”

Lin Bai and Mi Yangyang both looked confused.

Jiang Heng didn’t intend to hide the fact that he had a boyfriend. Now that he was in college, dating wasn’t restricted anymore, and as an adult AO, he was already able to fully mark someone, even if he wasn’t at the marriageable age yet.

“That’s my boyfriend.” Jiang Heng gave a slight smile, suddenly feeling much more at ease.

Lin Bai and Mi Yangyang: “…”

In the driver’s seat, Shen Huaizhi lowered his gaze slightly, watching Jiang Heng and the two boys standing at the school gate, talking. It seemed like he hadn’t noticed him, as they were chatting happily.
He wasn’t sure what they had said, but the boy in white seemed to smile a little shyly, and Shen Huaizhi squinted his eyes, suspecting the boy’s face had turned red. Jiang Heng, however, didn’t seem like he was planning to come over.

Feeling a little annoyed, Shen Huaizhi tapped his fingers on the steering wheel.

Lin Bai lowered his head, looking a little embarrassed. “I… I really didn’t know that was your boyfriend.”
Jiang Heng smiled, feeling that his possessiveness toward Shen Huaizhi had been growing stronger lately. Whenever someone showed the slightest interest in Shen Huaizhi, he felt an urge to act.

This wasn’t a good thing.

Jiang Heng lowered his gaze, chuckling. “He is indeed handsome.”

“I’ll treat you to a meal when I get the chance.”

Jiang Heng paused, then added, “I’m pretty handsome too.”

“Thanks for the compliment earlier in the dorm.”

Lin Bai: “…” Lin Bai’s face turned even redder.

Who knew that such a thing could happen so coincidentally?

When Jiang Heng got into the car, Shen Huaizhi was still looking ahead, seemingly not noticing Jiang Heng. This made Jiang Heng tap on the window.

“What are you staring at so intently?”

Shen Huaizhi’s gaze paused for a moment, finally turning his head to look at him.

The now adult Omega looked even more beautiful than before, and thanks to his consistent exercise, his physique had improved as well. Shen Huaizhi remembered Jiang Heng’s stunning waistline and the curve of his back. Even though they had almost been together every day during the summer, Shen Huaizhi still felt like it wasn’t enough.

The possessiveness of an Alpha made him want to tie Jiang Heng to his side.

He closed his eyes briefly. “The report from the hospital check-up came out.”

Jiang Heng paused in the middle of fastening his seatbelt. Seeing that Shen Huaizhi’s expression was unusual, he looked rarefied and a little nervous. “Is there a problem?”

Due to his health issues, Jiang Heng had gone for another check-up before the start of school.
Shen Huaizhi gave a low sound of acknowledgment, his gaze deepening and his expression no longer as cold as before. “Our marking frequency is too low.”

Jiang Heng: “…?”

Seeing that Jiang Heng didn’t understand, Shen Huaizhi patiently explained, “The doctor said that for your condition to stabilize, we need to maintain… at least two temporary marks a month.”

“Of course, the best solution would be complete marking.”

Since they started sleeping together, the frequency of their markings had actually decreased a bit.
After all, frequent temporary markings could cause an Omega to become excessively dependent on the Alpha.

However, even though they didn’t mark each other, they still did everything else that was expected.
Shen Huaizhi still often liked to bite Jiang Heng’s neck when things were getting heated, forcing him to say things that were difficult to hear. At those moments, Jiang Heng was the most obedient.

Although, after it was over, it was inevitable that Shen Huaizhi would get angry.

Hearing the term “complete marking,” Jiang Heng’s eyelid twitched. He had a vague feeling that something was off about Shen Huaizhi’s words.

The previous doctor had never suggested anything like that.

He stared at him with a blank expression. “Shen Huaizhi.”

But Shen Huaizhi’s expression showed no signs of guilt. Upon hearing Jiang Heng call him, he simply started the car with a calm expression. His tone, no longer as serious as before, softened. “What’s wrong?”

Jiang Heng couldn’t stand this demeanor of his. He hesitated for a moment, the words he wanted to say stuck in his throat, before finally speaking, “Complete marking… sounds kind of scary.”

Shen Huaizhi was slightly taken aback.

He hadn’t expected Jiang Heng to focus on the second part of his words. Suddenly, he felt like he was really less than an animal.

Jiang Heng had only just turned 18.

Although the complete marking of an Omega could be erased, it caused significant harm to the Omega’s body, and in Jiang Heng’s case, it might not even be able to be erased.

Once marked, he would be his forever.

Although Shen Huaizhi had the selfish desire to keep Jiang Heng by his side, they had joked about complete marking before. However, on matters like this, he fully respected Jiang Heng’s decision. Even if Jiang Heng refused, he wouldn’t force him.

Seeing that Shen Huaizhi had fallen silent, Jiang Heng glanced at him, staying silent for a while before feeling a bit embarrassed. “Let… let’s wait until after the military training.”

In that instant, the temperature inside the car seemed to rise by several degrees.

Shen Huaizhi even wondered if he had heard wrong. “What?”

Jiang Heng, with a somewhat resigned attitude, said, “After the military training ends, we can complete the marking.”

“By then, my heat should be about ready too.”

Even though the two of them already had the closest of relationships, Jiang Heng still felt a little embarrassed saying these words.

Even though he had mentioned complete marking a few times to Shen Huaizhi before, and even talked about marking after graduating high school, it still felt completely different now that the moment had actually come.

After all, complete marking meant fully opening oneself up to the other person, accepting them entirely.
Just thinking about that made Jiang Heng’s heart race.

Shen Huaizhi lowered his eyes, and the car’s speed suddenly slowed down.

“Jiang Heng, do you even know what you’re saying?”

Jiang Heng lifted his eyelids slightly. “I know.”

“Focus on driving, don’t look at me.”

Shen Huaizhi’s gaze was so explicit that it made Jiang Heng’s spine tingle for a moment.
After being together for so long, it felt like just one look from the other person was enough to understand what they were thinking.

Shen Huaizhi gave a low response.

After a long pause, Jiang Heng spoke again, this time in a quieter voice. “It’s just a matter of time.”
Shen Huaizhi was somewhat relieved that they weren’t in a busy area at the moment.

Jiang Heng probably would never know just how much impact his words had on an Alpha, nor how much weight that sentence carried as a promise for an Alpha.

As soon as Jiang Heng finished speaking, Shen Huaizhi let out a brief laugh.

Jiang Heng’s face immediately turned red. What had he just said?!

But of course, Shen Huaizhi seemed to be doing it on purpose, responding, “It’s just a matter of time.”

Jiang Heng: “…”

Jiang Heng held back. After all, they were in the car, and hitting him would probably cause an accident.
