OFCC – Chapter 40

On the private jet back to the country, Yi Wulan and Gu Yan were holding a video conference using the plane’s Wi-Fi. Mu Yanxi sat beside Yi Wulan, listening in but staying out of the camera’s view.

When Yi Wulan started the video conference, all the senior executives from Rongjia involved in the project were already present. Even through the screen, one could feel a collective tension rise from the other side.

Yi Wulan calmly turned on her camera and, without beating around the bush, asked directly, “What’s the situation now?”

Yang Li, the project manager for Shuilin Fang, flipped through the documents in his hand and got straight to the point. “Ever since Shuilin Fang started trending at nine o’clock, the online sentiment has intensified. Many people have started to condemn and boycott products under the Rongjia brand.”

Rongjia Group’s multi-billion investment in the Shuilin Fang project was now stuck at a critical juncture, unable to move forward. Every day the construction of Shuilin Fang was delayed was another day of burning money.

“Have you contacted the Land and Resources Bureau?”

Yang Li frowned, looking troubled. “Yes, President Yi. They just had the Shuilin Fang topic removed from the trending list, but the online calls for a boycott have only grown louder.”

Beside them, Mu Yanxi heard this and opened the trending topics list. Sure enough, the related search terms for Shuilin Fang had vanished from the list as if into thin air.

She searched for the term. On the topic’s main page, netizens were initially confused. Then, thinking of the common tactics used in the entertainment industry, they immediately concluded that Rongjia Group had paid to have the topic removed.

Consequently, an even larger wave of boycotts swept the internet. Because of the pressure from above constantly reducing its visibility, Shuilin Fang didn’t make it back to the trending list, but this only provoked greater resentment. Netizens, one by one, became righteous little crusaders, fervently trying to expose Rongjia Group’s scandal.

Mu Yanxi and Yi Wulan had mentally prepared for this, but since the idea had been hers, she still felt a pang of guilt seeing the overwhelming boycott messages online.

Mu Yanxi tugged on the corner of Yi Wulan’s sleeve. “A boycott like this must have a pretty big impact on Rongjia Group, right?”

In recent years, Yi Wulan had led Rongjia Group through a period of rapid, transformative growth, and her decisive, iron-fisted methods were something her subordinates had experienced firsthand on a daily basis. Now, holding a video conference late at night, every participant was on edge.

But just a few minutes into the meeting, such a voice suddenly came from Yi Wulan’s side, causing everyone in the meeting to stare intently at their screens.

The two people in question didn’t notice the others’ reactions. Yi Wulan turned her head to explain to Mu Yanxi, her voice noticeably softer and more patient than when she had started the meeting.

“It’s fine. Rongjia Group has a wide range of businesses, primarily focused on internet technology. Even if we’re boycotted for a few days, the stock price won’t be too heavily affected. Although the investment in Shuilin Fang is large, like Rongjia Entertainment, it’s not one of Rongjia’s core businesses.”

The people in the video conference widened their eyes in confusion upon hearing Yi Wulan’s words. If it really wasn’t important, then why were they all dragging themselves to the office late at night for a meeting?

They were usually filled with awe and fear of Yi Wulan. To suddenly hear her speak in such a gentle and soft tone was like seeing a ghost.

While they were still trying to comprehend this, their brilliant and powerful president finally deigned to turn her head back, her gaze sweeping over them as she reverted to her initial indifferent tone. “That was my wife. Continue reporting.”

Everyone’s head shot up.?!

Normally, a superior handling personal matters during a meeting would cause resentment, and subordinates would have no choice but to endure it due to the power dynamic. But Mu Yanxi’s family background was exceptional; much of the financing for Rongjia’s major projects came from Xinyu Bank.

Therefore, not only did these people not feel resentful after hearing Yi Wulan’s introduction, but they also felt a sense of curiosity to see their benefactor… ah, Mu Yanxi.

Of course, Yi Wulan gave them no such opportunity.

Seeing that the people on the other end of the meeting were frozen and slow to react, Yi Wulan’s sharp gaze swept over each person in the video conference, and her voice turned cold. “Since there’s nothing more to say, does that mean you already have a response plan?”

The attendees looked at each other. Intimidated by Yi Wulan’s usual authority, they panicked for a moment before hastily flipping through their documents and resuming their reports.

The meeting lasted for over two hours, covering more than just the Shuilin Fang issue. The Shuilin Fang situation would affect Rongjia Group’s other businesses. Yi Wulan had spoken lightly to Mu Yanxi, but she made detailed arrangements during the meeting.

After the meeting ended, Gu Yan and the others retreated to another cabin. Mu Yanxi met Yi Wulan’s gaze, her face showing concern. “Are you sure you can lure those few fish in your family this time?”

“Not necessarily.” Yi Wulan’s eyes were deep as she looked out at the clouds beyond the window. “It depends on whether they can keep their composure.”

“What’s so uncertain about it? The moment Jiang Tong posted that Weibo about Shuilin Fang, the people behind him couldn’t wait to use a water army to guide public opinion. Do they really think no one can see through it?”

“You seem to know a lot.”

Mu Yanxi let out a light snort, thinking to herself that after being targeted by so many in the domestic entertainment industry, how could she not understand the tactics of these water armies? She could tell the difference between a normal netizen and a paid commenter at a glance.

But she maintained a nonchalant expression on her face.

If it were Mu Yanxi’s usual self, she would have definitely teased Yi Wulan a few times. Even if Yi Wulan was just holding a meeting, she could praise her to the high heavens until Yi Wulan became flustered with embarrassment.

But Mu Yanxi had been holding a grudge for the past few days and was keeping her distance from Yi Wulan. So, she didn’t chat idly with her as she usually would, maintaining a detached distance.

This distance was maintained until the cabin crew brought them lunch.

Yi Wulan served Mu Yanxi a bowl of soup and brought up the topic. “You’re very familiar with these kinds of online boycotts?”

Mu Yanxi took the bowl and said casually, “Of course I am. How could I not be?”

Yi Wulan also served herself a bowl of soup, frowning. “Being targeted by that group of people online all day, I really don’t know what you see in being an artist.”

Mu Yanxi raised an eyebrow and turned her head to ask, “How do you know I’m targeted by them all day? Are you paying attention to me?”

“…” Yi Wulan averted her gaze and looked down at her food. “Stop talking so much while eating. We still have over eight hours until the plane lands. Finish eating soon so you can rest for a while.”

Mu Yanxi smiled and picked up her spoon, sipping the soup one spoonful at a time.

After finishing, Yi Wulan didn’t leave the table immediately. Instead, she sat there, waiting for Mu Yanxi to finish as well. She looked at a message from Gu Yan on her phone and said, “Things at Rongjia should be quite busy these next two days. I’ll be working overtime, so you don’t have to wait for me for dinner when you get home.”

Mu Yanxi nodded and asked, “Will the progress at Shuilin Fang be on schedule?”

“We only need to showcase a small area, so it should be in time. And we don’t need it right away. We have to wait a few days for the people behind the scenes to show their hand before we respond.” Yi Wulan paused, then asked, “The press conference then… do you want to go?”

Mu Yanxi looked up at Yi Wulan.

Yi Wulan seemed to have just mentioned it casually. “The concept for Shuilin Fang was your inspiration. Although it will be a long time before it’s finally completed, you’ll be able to see the tip of the iceberg at the press conference. If you want to go, I can take you for a look.”

Shuilin Fang was currently under intense scrutiny, and the press conference would attract a great deal of attention. Being brought to such an event carried an unspoken meaning.

Recalling how Yi Wulan had just derided her for being an artist, Mu Yanxi decisively shook her head. “I’m not going.”

Yi Wulan’s brow furrowed.

“I’ve been with you in Boston for so many days. Do you think I’m an unemployed vagrant who doesn’t need to work? I have a lot of gigs piled up that I need to get busy with.” Mu Yanxi put on gloves to handle a crab. “But if you have time then, you can come visit me on set.”

Yi Wulan’s expression softened slightly. She took a sip from her juice glass and also refused, “I won’t have time.”

Mu Yanxi smiled.

Yi Wulan glanced over. “What are you smiling about?”

Mu Yanxi said pointedly, “I just remembered that the locations for my gigs are all quite remote to get good scenery. If your leg is inconvenient, it would indeed be difficult for you to come over.”

Yi Wulan: …

Yi Wulan put down her chopsticks, pulled over the wheelchair beside her, and with a slight push of her legs, sat down in it. She said disdainfully, “Who cares about your childish performances?”

With that, she wheeled herself to the other side of the cabin.

Over the next few days, just as Yi Wulan had predicted, as public opinion continued to ferment, the people pulling the strings from behind gradually revealed their hand.

On Yi Wulan’s first day back in the country, Rongjia’s upper management held a full day of meetings about the online sentiment, but to no avail.

The next morning, when the stock market opened, Rongjia’s stock showed a slight downward trend, but it managed to stabilize by the closing bell. That night, Rongjia held an emergency shareholder meeting to demand a change in the decision-maker for the Shuilin Fang project. Yi Wulan did not attend.

On the third day, the area outside the Shuilin Fang wetland was surrounded by protesters, all demanding that the capitalists return the wetland. Construction at Shuilin Fang came to a complete halt, and discussions about the Yi family re-electing a new faction were rampant within the company.

On the fourth day, as someone from within Rongjia completely leaked the planning documents for the Shuilin Fang wetland, it “confirmed” that Rongjia was indeed turning Shuilin Fang into a private property, finally putting an end to the speculative public opinion.

At the same time, a massive wave of boycotts against Rongjia’s products erupted online.

The turbulent undercurrents within Rongjia finally surfaced, yet Yi Wulan’s villa remained an oasis of calm.

At two in the afternoon, Mu Yanxi returned home after finishing a shoot.

Walking into the bedroom, she was surprised to see Yi Wulan with her hands braced against the wall, slowly moving towards the bed one small step at a time.

The sound of the door opening reached Yi Wulan’s ears, causing her to lose focus for a moment. Her already unstable center of gravity began to shift.

“Be careful!” Mu Yanxi quickly ran over.

The bedroom door was some distance from the bed, but fortunately, Yi Wulan managed to adjust her posture in time and fell onto the nearby bed.

Mu Yanxi came to the bedside and helped Yi Wulan sit up. “Are you okay? Did you hurt your leg?”

“I’m fine.” Yi Wulan pressed on her sore calf.

Mu Yanxi observed Yi Wulan’s expression. “I just asked the housekeeper. You finished lunch two hours ago. Don’t tell me you’ve been practicing walking this whole time?”

It had been about ten days since the surgery. The marks left on Yi Wulan’s leg had already faded ahead of schedule with the help of her powers, and Yi Wulan made time every day for her leg rehabilitation.

Yi Wulan’s expression remained faint. “I’m fine.”

The more nonchalant Yi Wulan appeared, the more Mu Yanxi felt a tightness in her chest.

But even though she was angry, she sat cross-legged on the carpet and began to massage Yi Wulan’s overused legs.

Yi Wulan’s legs were just a bit numb from walking too much, but under Mu Yanxi’s not-so-skilled and slightly emotional massage, the numbness started to turn into a tingling pain.

As soon as she finished one leg, Mu Yanxi, with a dark face, forcefully pulled her other leg over.

Yi Wulan sighed. “You just got back from a gig. Go rest. My leg is really fine.”

Mu Yanxi glanced at Yi Wulan without any expression.

For some reason, Yi Wulan, who was always used to giving orders and making decisions herself, found herself speechless in the face of this Mu Yanxi.

Yi Wulan closed her mouth, silently clutching the bedsheet and looking down at Mu Yanxi’s movements.

After being massaged for a long time, Yi Wulan finally couldn’t help but speak again. “The doctor said I should practice more often. You don’t need to be so nervous.”

Mu Yanxi let out an “oh” and, without raising her head, began to speak sarcastically. “Right, what am I nervous about? I’m just a decoration on your marriage certificate. What does it have to do with me if you overdo your leg rehabilitation? Anyway, President Yi’s family is rich and powerful. If it doesn’t heal, you can just keep burning money to treat it. How would I dare say anything?”

Yi Wulan: …

Mu Yanxi paused, then continued, “What a pity. If I had come back a few hours later, I might have been able to see President Yi practicing for tonight’s press conference and working her own legs to ruin. Seeing how President Yi would be limp against the wall, unable to move, must be quite a spectacular sight, wouldn’t it?”

After her tirade, Mu Yanxi let go of Yi Wulan’s legs and stood up. But after taking two steps, she kicked Yi Wulan’s slipper that had fallen by the corner of the wall, then turned her head back, still fuming.

Grinding her back teeth, she said, “It’s just a clarification press conference for Shuilin Fang. What’s so important about whether you go on stage standing or sitting? What, has your Rongjia Group reached the point where it needs its president to sell her looks?”

Yi Wulan was stunned for a moment, then suddenly smiled. “So, Yanxi is worried about me?”

Mu Yanxi’s steps faltered. The cool and aloof image she had maintained for days completely crumbled. She wanted to say something but held back, saying fiercely, “Who cares about you? You’d better practice more next time. If your legs go weak and you have a serious fall, I can inherit your estate sooner.”

“You want my money that badly?”

Mu Yanxi, whose personal coffers were overflowing, said stubbornly, “Besides your money, what else about you could possibly attract me?”

Yi Wulan sighed thoughtfully and reached out to tug on the hem of Mu Yanxi’s dress. “Since my money will all be yours in the future, and I’m a little dizzy from practicing for so long, could you help me to the head of the bed?”

Mu Yanxi, who was about to step away, immediately stopped. “Can’t you move yourself?”

Hearing this, Yi Wulan let go of Mu Yanxi’s dress, but in the next second, her wrist was held in a firm grip.

Mu Yanxi’s long fingers slid down from her wrist, while her other hand wrapped around Yi Wulan’s waist.

Yi Wulan’s expression faltered slightly as she turned to look at Mu Yanxi.

But the aloof Mu Yanxi didn’t look at Yi Wulan. She just moved her towards the head of the bed, looking very calm, but her deliberately averted gaze betrayed her. “You haven’t fully recovered yet, so move less. Next time, wait until I’m home to do your rehabilitation exercises. I’m afraid if something happens to you, I won’t have an alibi.”

A smile flashed across Yi Wulan’s lips and was quickly hidden. “Okay.”

After helping Yi Wulan lie down comfortably, Mu Yanxi went to find the special ointment she had gotten from Doctor Xiusina and applied it to Yi Wulan’s legs.

Yi Wulan’s leg flinched back. Seeing this, Mu Yanxi asked hurriedly, “Did I hurt you? If you know it hurts, why were you standing there for two hours?”

Yi Wulan froze.

It had been a long time since anyone had asked her if she was in pain.

She was always accustomed to hiding her emotions. Whether it was the physical pain from the car accident or the psychological pain from family infighting and overwhelming work, it was as if pain had disappeared from Yi Wulan’s life.

“Does it hurt?” Mu Yanxi looked at the veins that were slightly protruding and couldn’t help but ask again.

The fatigue and soreness from standing had long since dissipated. The veins on Yi Wulan’s leg were actually tense because of Mu Yanxi’s actions of applying the ointment.

However, the moment Mu Yanxi’s fingertips brushed over her skin again, a searing, hot sensation seemed to ignite in Yi Wulan’s leg.

Like a lingering pain that had not yet faded.

Yi Wulan hesitated for a moment, then nodded lightly. “…It hurts.”

The afternoon sun cast a gentle glow through the window, coating everything in a warm, shimmering light, making everything seem gentle and bright.

The ointment would generate heat. As Mu Yanxi applied it, she lowered her head and gently blew on Yi Wulan’s calf, comforting her, “It should get better soon after applying the medicine.”

Those few breaths sent a tingling shiver through her. Yi Wulan’s eyelashes trembled, but she did not pull her leg back.

When Mu Yanxi finally finished applying the medicine, she didn’t forget to remind her, “Don’t move this afternoon. Otherwise, if your leg becomes useless, don’t expect me to accompany you tonight.”

The corners of Yi Wulan’s lips slowly curved up. “Okay.”

In the past few days, Rongjia had been in turmoil, and the current president had not appeared in high-level meetings for several days, leading to all sorts of rumors and speculation.

Just when everyone thought Rongjia was about to suffer a major blow, that evening, a large number of security personnel suddenly appeared at the seemingly abandoned Shuilin Fang wetland.

Then, countless mainstream media outlets, as if they had received invitations long ago, scrambled to enter the venue.

At the temporary press conference site set up in the center of the Shuilin Fang wetland, nearly a hundred reporters watched with rapt attention as the young president slowly walked onto the stage.

Even though they had long heard of the fame of Rongjia’s current president, when Yi Wulan walked on stage, the scene fell silent for a brief moment, punctuated by numerous gasps.

As a prominent figure in the capital circle, Yi Wulan’s name was known to almost everyone in the financial world. However, Rongjia’s confidentiality had always been excellent, and very little personal information about Yi Wulan had ever been leaked.

The reporters had come to get the scoop on Shuilin Fang, but they never expected Rongjia’s president to be so young and beautiful. Even though she exuded the calm and aloof aura of a person in power, her mere presence was enough to be intimidating and persuasive.

After a few seconds of initial assessment, the reporters present all came back to their senses. It was then that they noticed the secret of the nameplates on the long table.

The three people on Yi Wulan’s side all had titles starting with Rongjia Group, while the nameplates in front of the few formally dressed people on the other side clearly read: Yuncheng Land and Resources Bureau xxx, Yuncheng Government xxx!

Thus, before the press conference even began, the reporters below were already caught off guard by this lineup. Those with a bit of sense quickly figured out the key point, and the questions they had prepared were all rendered useless.

Yuncheng had entered autumn in the last few days, and the cool evening breeze seemed to calm the restless hearts of the reporters below.

“Thank you all for coming. I am Yang Li, the person in charge of Shuilin Fang. Tonight, our company will respond to the online statements concerning our company.”

As the voice of the Shuilin Fang manager spread through the venue via the microphone, all the reporters and cameras focused on the people on stage.

Yang Li nodded towards Yi Wulan.

Yi Wulan turned on the microphone in front of her and coughed lightly. The venue instantly fell silent.

A cool, low, and gentle voice sounded through the microphone: “Thank you all for coming. I have two announcements to make here. First, regarding the construction of Shuilin Fang, Rongjia Group had already reached a cooperation agreement with the relevant departments of the Yuncheng government upon winning the bid. We will work together to build and create a new type of multi-functional comprehensive wetland theme park with Yuncheng’s unique characteristics.

Regarding the recent false statements on the internet, I, on behalf of Rongjia Group, apologize to the vast number of netizens and those who care about Rongjia Group. I also promise that we will strictly investigate any attempts to slander or defame Rongjia Group and will pursue legal responsibility at all costs.”

The indifference on Yi Wulan’s face formed a sharp contrast with the astonished reporters. The press conference continued.

The speech was passed to the representative from the government department, who not only verbally confirmed the matter but also projected the cooperation documents onto the screen beside them. It displayed several pages of information that could be made public, and the date in the final column was clearly from several months ago!

The “click-clack” of countless cameras immediately rang out incessantly.

With the credibility of government officials, the rumors about Shuilin Fang online were instantly debunked without needing further explanation. As long as the reporters here tonight sent out their news releases, the whole truth would come to light.

Just as the reporters thought it was over, behind Yi Wulan and the others, in the sky directly in front of the reporters, countless neon lights suddenly exploded.

Under the lonely night sky, several towering, thick beams of light shot straight into the clouds, and a sky garden surrounded by lights appeared in the surrounding night sky.

The Ferris wheel at the highest point slowly rotated, and the originally dim paths were suddenly illuminated. The surging sea, the tranquil and beautiful cherry blossom forest, the vast and magnificent universe… one after another, realistic and three-dimensional scenes rendered the originally monotonous natural landscape completely new.

It was as if they were in a brand new world. As the holographic images changed, they could really feel the seawater flowing under their feet and smell the scent of cherry blossoms.

Yi Wulan’s voice sounded again: “The second thing to announce is the holographic technology that everyone is seeing right now.

Shuilin Fang covers a large area. Rongjia Group will not only build entertainment facilities on ordinary open land but also, in order to not damage the original ecology of the wetland, will use holographic technology to shape and enhance the wetland resources, providing visitors with a brand new experience through the presentation of different themes. Next, my assistant will introduce it to everyone.”

Gu Yan stood up and walked to the side of the stage. He suddenly tapped his hand, and a display screen that had gone unnoticed in a dim corner suddenly appeared.

A flat structural map of Shuilin Fang immediately appeared on it. After casually zooming in and out, Gu Yan gently grabbed it, and a three-dimensional manipulation was instantly realized in the air.

The original flat map seemed to come to life, pulled out by him, and could be folded and flipped at will with the control of his index finger. The image was extremely clear, just like a real object!

If using holographic technology on land that had not yet begun construction was surprising enough, then the combination of holographic projection and artificial intelligence was even more eye-opening.

Gu Yan was controlling the huge three-dimensional flat map while introducing the future appearance of Shuilin Fang to the reporters.

Every part unfolded by his fingertips could be magnified, showing the original landscape of Shuilin Fang. When expanded further, the effect of adding holographic projections could be seen, with different modes being switched at will.

The entire Shuilin Fang wetland seemed to come alive. Even the cranes in the pond were realistically rendered, flapping their wings in Gu Yan’s hand.

After achieving some success on the internet in the past two years, Rongjia Group has been committed to combining holographic technology with artificial intelligence.

Now that its 4D holographic projection technology is gradually maturing, Shuilin Fang is also a pilot project for Rongjia’s use of holographic technology. Even 4D holographic movies will appear in Shuilin Fang’s leisure and entertainment area.

At that time, whether it’s the construction and decoration of the theme park, or the navigation and shopping needed by tourists during their experience, all can be solved through holographic projection. The commercial street built within it can also realize the concept of a holographic shopping mall.

Scene after scene, like something out of a science fiction movie, unfolded before everyone’s eyes, unsurprisingly stunning everyone present.

Next was the free question time for reporters. Interested reporters immediately couldn’t hold back and asked, “Can this holographic technology really be realized?”

Gu Yan smiled slightly. “Rongjia Group is working hard on research and development. We believe that in the near future, this technology will not only be applied to Shuilin Fang but will also enter thousands of households, bringing everyone a more efficient and convenient technological life.”

The topic of holography and artificial intelligence had been brought up, and many reporters asked questions about it. Gu Yan and Yang Li patiently and politely explained to the reporters, providing free publicity for the products Rongjia Group planned to realize and launch in the future.

The equipment on site was limited, but the reporters’ interest was very high. In the end, due to time constraints, Gu Yan and Yang Li concluded the press conference.

Although bodyguards were blocking them, many reporters still chased after them, wanting to ask more questions. Amidst the rising and falling voices, a different kind of question suddenly emerged: “It is rumored that President Yi is married, and Shuilin Fang is your wedding gift to your wife. Is this true?”

A young male reporter squeezed to the front. Seeing this, Gu Yan quickly stepped in front of the mobility-impaired Yi Wulan and smiled, “The press conference is over. If you have any more questions, you can contact our staff.”

The male reporter was very young and seemed enthusiastic, but his words became sharp. “President Yi, you saved Rongjia’s reputation by reaching an agreement with the government. Does your wife know about this? Aren’t you afraid of breaking her heart?”

Yi Wulan, who was about to step down from the stage, paused and looked over.

After Yi Wulan had clarified the Shuilin Fang situation, although the reporters present had been influenced by the online rumors and had their doubts, no one dared to ask since it involved privacy.

Now that someone had boldly asked, it immediately attracted the attention of the other reporters who were about to leave.

Rongjia had not set a scope of questions for the invited reporters. This question was clearly out of bounds, but if Yi Wulan was willing to answer, it would be an unexpected delight.

Moreover, many reporters felt a faint sense of excitement, the excitement of finally seeing Rongjia stumble.

During the nearly ten-second silence, everyone waited for Yi Wulan’s answer, and the pressure in the air grew heavier, as if it had solidified.

The male reporter who had just asked the question looked even more smug. “Is President Yi afraid to respond?”

Just as Gu Yan was about to call for security to evade the question, Yi Wulan finally spoke. “To be honest, the entire planning concept for the Shuilin Fang wetlands was proposed by my wife. She just didn’t want to take the credit, nor did she want to come with me today.”

Yi Wulan’s tone was quite regretful, not at all like the person the male reporter had described as stealing his wife’s ideas.

Instead, it sounded as if her status at home was so low that she couldn’t even get someone to attend a press conference, making her seem rather helpless.

A female reporter next to her chimed in, “It seems President Yi and your wife have a very good relationship?”

Yi Wulan looked over but didn’t answer directly. Instead, she asked, “Miss reporter, what do you think of my outfit today?”

The reporter was stunned, completely failing to understand the purpose of Yi Wulan’s question. Her mind went blank for a moment, and she had no idea how to respond.

The suit Yi Wulan was wearing was from Prada’s new autumn collection this year, one of the outfits Mu Yanxi had insisted on giving her at the fashion show a few days ago.

The reporters looked at each other, only able to tell that the fabric was expensive and the design was novel, but they couldn’t say anything else.

Just as they were feeling bewildered, Yi Wulan finally spoke.

She slowly curved her lips, and starlight seemed to scatter into her peach blossom eyes. “My love bought it for me.”

Her voice was not as business-like as it had been on stage. As if dyed by the gentle moonlight above, her voice softened slightly, carrying a hint of indulgence.
