It was already seven o’clock when they returned to the guesthouse area, the sun having set not long ago.
Streetlights were placed every two meters, and the surrounding bars were starting to open. This area wasn’t particularly lively, but it certainly wasn’t deserted either.
Qiu Yang and Shen Ningruo walked side-by-side slowly. As they approached the entrance of their guesthouse, they could clearly see that the few people ahead were the aunties from the tour group.
Next to the guesthouse door was a wall meant for photos, covered in some graffiti and decorated with colorful string lights.
With a flick of the switch, they sparkled brightly, looking very pretty.
These aunties were filming TikTok videos again.
Shen Ningruo whispered to Qiu Yang, “Hurry, let’s not get spotted.”
Qiu Yang was puzzled. “What’s wrong?”
“Otherwise, they’ll ask you to help them film videos later.”
But as soon as Shen Ningruo finished speaking, Zhao Mingfen, the auntie most familiar with them among the group, immediately waved at them and called out loudly, “Xiao Qiu, Xiao Shen!”
Qiu Yang and Shen Ningruo exchanged glances, then saw Zhao Mingfen walking towards them, looking a bit anxious. “Where did you two go? Why are you only just getting back?”
Shen Ningruo turned and pointed in a direction. “Auntie Fen, we went hiking.” She then asked, “Is something wrong?”
Zhao Mingfen shook her head. “Nothing.”
Before she could say anything else, Qiu Yang spoke up. “Auntie Mingfen, do you need me to help you film TikToks?”
Zhao Mingfen’s eyes immediately lit up. “Yes, yes!”
“Thank you, Xiao Qiu!”
Shen Ningruo: “…”
Shen Ningruo raised an eyebrow, looking at Qiu Yang’s calm face, but didn’t say anything.
Qiu Yang didn’t spare her a glance, only saying, “You go back first.”
“Alright,” Shen Ningruo uttered a single word.
Qiu Yang was still wearing her backpack. She had put her camera inside, and it was quite heavy. Plus, after walking and hiking all day, even her well-exercised body was feeling the strain.
However, the thought of Shen Ningruo asking her to watch the moon tonight made her want to delay facing it, which was why she had proactively offered to help Zhao Mingfen.
Zhao Mingfen didn’t know Qiu Yang’s thoughts. Her group of friends just happened to need someone to film videos. Since Qiu Yang could take such good photos, filming a video would be simple for her.
Shen Ningruo glanced at Qiu Yang’s backpack, ultimately suppressing the urge to help her carry it inside. She said “Goodbye” to Zhao Mingfen, then stepped onto the stairs and entered the guesthouse.
Qiu Yang turned her head to look at her retreating figure, then took Zhao Mingfen’s phone to film videos for them.
There were six aunties in total. Qiu Yang did her best to meet their needs and film videos they would be satisfied with.
However, by the time they finished, over half an hour had passed. The aunties had had their fun and were busy posting the videos on TikTok and WeChat Moments.
After hearing several “Thank you, Xiao Qiu,” Qiu Yang finally entered the guesthouse.
The hallway lights were on. She walked to her room door, checked Shen Ningruo’s room number again, and then swiped her card to enter.
Shen Ningruo had already showered but hadn’t dried her hair yet. A towel was draped around her neck, and water droplets fell onto it, quickly being absorbed.
She sat on a chair, looking at WeChat Moments.
Zhao Mingfen and Wu Xiaoqiong, whom she had added, had both posted videos. She casually clicked on one, and the music and visuals immediately appeared. The aunties’ smiles were bright, looking harmonious and friendly.
Shen Ningruo glanced at her door again, then stood up and pulled out her room card.
Two seconds later, she knocked on Qiu Yang’s door.
Qiu Yang opened it, looking a bit surprised. “What’s wrong?” She paused. “I just got back, I haven’t showered yet.”
“My hairdryer is broken,” Shen Ningruo’s lips curved slightly. “Can I borrow yours?”
The guesthouse hairdryers weren’t very good quality, probably only worth a few dozen yuan on Taobao. Moreover, they were fixed and couldn’t be detached, so you had to dry your hair in the bathroom.
Qiu Yang didn’t say anything but turned around.
The meaning was clear.
After Shen Ningruo came in, she didn’t say anything else either, going straight into the bathroom as if she had genuinely just come to borrow the hairdryer.
Qiu Yang didn’t suspect anything. She sat on the sofa and clicked on the latest video of Pingzi that Miao Yi had sent her, watching it.
Even when traveling, she still missed her cat.
Shen Ningruo’s hair was thick and curly, making it a bit troublesome and time-consuming to dry.
Perhaps ten minutes passed before she came out of the bathroom.
Qiu Yang looked up at her. “Done?”
“Done.” Shen Ningruo pulled the bathroom door shut. “Thanks.”
Qiu Yang said expressionlessly, “You’re welcome.”
But Shen Ningruo didn’t leave immediately. Instead, she walked towards Qiu Yang and sat down beside her.
Qiu Yang immediately became wary, but on the surface, she remained calm. She looked at Weibo, pretending not to care about Shen Ningruo’s closeness.
There were only a few centimeters between them, yet Qiu Yang felt as though she could sense the dampness from Shen Ningruo’s shower that hadn’t completely dissipated.
And this scent seemed to envelop her.
She pursed her lips, then turned off her phone, wanting to stand up. “I’m going to shower.”
“Wait,” Shen Ningruo grabbed her wrist, preventing her from getting up. “Didn’t you just want to delay it?”
Shen Ningruo then called out to her again, “Xiao Yang.”
One light was on in the room, but it still wasn’t very bright. Yet, looking at Qiu Yang, Shen Ningruo felt that Qiu Yang’s eyes seemed much brighter than the moon tonight.
Qiu Yang’s thoughts were seen through and spoken aloud, but she didn’t feel embarrassed. Instead, she became even more natural. “Yes.”
She almost forgot.
She and Shen Ningruo were just a one-night stand, there were no feelings involved. She didn’t need to be afraid or worried.
Seeing that she wasn’t very nervous, Shen Ningruo suddenly found it less interesting. She released her hand and stood up first. “You should go shower.”
“Let’s go to bed early tonight.”
Qiu Yang looked at her tall figure, feeling a bit confused. For a moment, she thought they were going to kiss first.
But they didn’t.
However, her attention was drawn back by Shen Ningruo’s word “sleep”.
Shen Ningruo looked down at Qiu Yang from above, but she herself blocked a large portion of the light.
Her voice was devoid of emotion. “After tonight, you only have four days left to sleep with me.”
She slowly uttered four words: “Remember to cherish it.”
Qiu Yang: “…”
Shen Ningruo seemed to understand her thoughts. “What? Want to curse me?”
Qiu Yang didn’t say anything, and then heard Shen Ningruo continue, “When it’s time to watch the moon, you can curse me however you want.”
“I’ve figured it out, Qiu Yang. We can’t waste the remaining time. Let’s set a small goal: at least break this bed.”
“What do you think?”
