PSMD – Chapter 16

When she was in school, the teacher said there was a literary device called — exaggeration.

Shen Ningruo was being very exaggerated right now.

Because the bed in the guesthouse was a metal frame bed. The hardware was complete and it looked very new. It would take who knows how long to shake it down.

Unless the metal frame rusted and became scrap, it would never be possible.

Qiu Yang didn’t know how to respond for a moment, but Shen Ningruo looked very serious, as if she was asking for her opinion.

She even asked, “What do you think?”

“I think we should just shake the guesthouse down,” Qiu Yang exhaled, deciding to fight magic with magic. “Let’s all get buried together.”

Shen Ningruo raised an eyebrow, pondered for a few seconds, seemingly thinking seriously, before opening her mouth and smiling, “Then this guesthouse must be built with shoddy construction.”

“Then is this bed made of tofu dregs?” Qiu Yang’s tone calmed down. “Why don’t you try bumping into it? See if you’ll die trying?”

Qiu Yang’s words were clear, and Shen Ningruo understood her. She immediately laughed, “Looks like even a cornered sheep will bite.”

Qiu Yang ignored her, got up, and went to the side to get the pajamas hanging there. Without even saying “I’m taking a shower,” she went into the bathroom.

Shen Ningruo looked at the closed bathroom door, her raised lips lowering.

She knew what she was saying and doing.

Yao Yao was right. After she returned to Yuncheng, she naturally wouldn’t contact Qiu Yang again. Even if their companies were cooperating, meeting opportunities weren’t guaranteed.

Shen Ningruo had no intention of continuing contact with Qiu Yang, but it had to be mentioned that she still found Qiu Yang’s body very beautiful. This kind of liking made her doubt herself.

Could it be that she was really gay from the start, as Yao Yao said? Otherwise, as a straight woman, how could she have sexual urges towards another woman?

But she also clearly remembered the feeling of falling for her first love, that boy in the white shirt.

Oh, no, not very clearly. It had been eleven years, that feeling had long since blurred.

Shen Ningruo stood rooted to the spot, letting out a light sigh.

Some things she couldn’t figure out, so she wouldn’t think about them. This wasn’t work, after all.

She just needed to know that her plan had gone wrong.

After all, the original plan wasn’t like this. It was merely to observe Qiu Yang’s state as someone who had just broken up. Who would have thought she’d end up observing her in bed?

Tonight’s moon was very round and bright. Shen Ningruo was right, the moon high in the sky could be seen perfectly from her window.

It was inevitably a bit cold at night. The air conditioning was on in the room, the window wasn’t open, but the curtains weren’t drawn either.

The moonlight shone directly in, revealing everything in the room.

It wasn’t a completely dark environment; they could see a vague outline of each other.

This night was very long. Qiu Yang felt she might be developing selenophobia.

She had a dream while sleeping. In the dream, there was a blurry figure. She didn’t know who it was. She chased after them, and when she reached them, she saw it was Shen Ningruo’s face. Shen Ningruo rubbed her head and praised her with those two words again: “Very good.”

Qiu Yang woke up instantly.

She opened her eyes and saw that the moon had been replaced by the sun, and the sunlight was about to hit her.

Shen Ningruo was already up and sitting at the table, on a video conference.

Qiu Yang glanced at her back, then quickly looked away.

Her body felt a bit sore now, but that might also be due to climbing the mountain.

She didn’t know if Shen Ningruo had noticed she was awake, and she didn’t care. She put on her pajamas, draped the jacket she’d brought last night over herself, and was about to walk through the living area in her slippers.

Shen Ningruo muted herself at this moment, then turned her head and looked at her, “I ordered takeout, it’ll be here soon. Come eat breakfast.”

After she spoke, she realized she had unconsciously used the official, business-like tone she used with subordinates.

Qiu Yang seemed not to notice anything different. She shook her head, “No thanks.”

“I still have work to do.”

Shen Ningruo didn’t stop her. After Qiu Yang closed the door, she lowered her eyelids, then unmuted herself.

What she didn’t know was that as soon as the meeting ended,

A small gossip group in the company exploded.

Qiu Yang returned to her room, her lips pursed. She rubbed her brow, but the next moment, the image of Shen Ningruo gently praising her last night reappeared before her eyes.

Qiu Yang: …

It felt like Shen Ningruo’s effect was an overdose. She didn’t want her mind to be full of dirty thoughts.

Ah!
