PSMD – Chapter 65

Before, Shen Ningruo had been wondering whether her feelings for Qiu Yang were real or not, but it wasn’t until today that she understood that liking someone involves many emotions, and there’s no need to distinguish them so clearly. As long as she wanted to see Qiu Yang smile and be happy, then these feelings wouldn’t be fake.

Furthermore, from the very beginning when she first became curious about Qiu Yang, Shen Ningruo had already been unconsciously weaving a net for herself, she just didn’t know it at the time.

She thought her curiosity about Qiu Yang was like conducting a behavioral observation; she wanted to see how someone truly heartbroken would react. However, only now did she realize that the curiosity wasn’t because she wanted to know these things, but because her gaze was fixed on Qiu Yang.

All she wanted to understand was Qiu Yang herself.

Without any other impurities.

That’s why she felt reluctant to part with Qiu Yang in Xicheng, she felt uncomfortable when Qiu Yang looked at the girl singing on stage, and to keep Qiu Yang with her, she didn’t hesitate to act shamelessly.

There were too many instances like this.

The more time passed, the more she cared about Qiu Yang.

Looking back now, she had wished Qiu Yang well twice, once in Xicheng and once in Yuncheng. And the second time in Yuncheng, Shen Ningruo could clearly feel her disappointment and emptiness.

She knew Qiu Yang would meet someone better, because Qiu Yang was very deserving.

But at that time, the thought that this person wouldn’t be her made her feel somewhat choked up.

Not anymore. Now Shen Ningruo’s resolve was firm. All those previous well wishes for Qiu Yang would be fulfilled by her.

What others couldn’t do, she would.

After Qiu Yang fed Pingzi at home, Miao Yi arrived.

“Yangyang, what are your plans for May Day coming up?” Miao Yi picked up Pingzi and asked, “Labor Day is a five-day holiday this year.”

It was only mid-April, and Qiu Yang hadn’t thought about such things yet, so she could only reply, “I don’t know.”

Miao Yi looked worried: “I’d like to travel around, but Labor Day traffic is comparable to National Day. I don’t want to be squashed like a meat patty again.”

“Then you should just stay home,” Qiu Yang smiled, glancing at Pingzi. “I have Pingzi, it’s not very convenient to go anywhere.”

After speaking, Qiu Yang glanced out the window again. It was already dark, and Shen Ningruo still wasn’t finished with work.

“Oh right, you have Pingzi.” Miao Yi rubbed Pingzi’s head and sighed. “Okay, I’ll see if anyone wants to go together. If not, I won’t go out. If there is, I’ll ask someone to go with me.”

“A five-day mini-holiday is really rare.”

“Okay.”

Just as Qiu Yang finished speaking, there was a knock at the door.

Miao Yi looked at Qiu Yang and blinked: “Is it that friend of yours from last time?”

“Maybe.”

“I’ll get it.”

Qiu Yang first looked through the peephole, confirming that the person at the door was Shen Ningruo, only then did she unlock the door and open it.

As soon as the door opened, Qiu Yang was hugged by Shen Ningruo, and Shen Ningruo asked again, “Did you miss me obediently this afternoon?”

Pingzi and Miao Yi stared at each other, then both looked away.

The distance from the living room to the door was so short, who wouldn’t have heard what Shen Ningruo said?

Qiu Yang was the one who heard it most clearly. The moment Shen Ningruo hugged her, a red exclamation mark warning immediately popped up in her mind—

Warning! Warning! Miao Yi is still in the living room!

Shen Ningruo didn’t immediately hear Qiu Yang’s reply, and only then slowly raised her head, and saw there was another person on the living room sofa.

Shen Ningruo: “…”

Shen Ningruo cleared her throat and awkwardly let go of Qiu Yang.

Why was there someone else in the room? Shen Ningruo couldn’t figure it out.

Qiu Yang saw her flustered expression and chuckled softly, then she nodded gently, “Yes.”

Pingzi couldn’t take it anymore: “Meow.”

Miao Yi covered Pingzi’s mouth: “Don’t cause trouble.” Then she smiled at Qiu Yang and Shen Ningruo: “I didn’t hear anything at all, I’ll head back now.”

“Wait a minute,” Qiu Yang spoke up, “Let me introduce you, this is Shen Ningruo.”

“This is Miao Yi.”

“Hello,” Miao Yi and Shen Ningruo shook hands, “We’ve met before.”

Shen Ningruo’s eyes curved into a smile, looking very approachable: “Yes, you helped me before, and I haven’t had a chance to thank you yet.”

“No, no need, I didn’t really help much,” Miao Yi blushed slightly. How could she have known then that the person standing at Qiu Yang’s door would have such an ambiguous relationship with Qiu Yang? Otherwise, her tone would definitely have been much better than now, although it wasn’t bad back then either.

Miao Yi looked at Shen Ningruo’s face. This person in front of her looked better than Tao Sixian before, but now, you can know a person’s face but not their heart; some people look good, but are rotten inside.

Miao Yi didn’t know if Qiu Yang’s judgment was reliable this time.

Qiu Yang’s gaze darted between them, feeling a bit confused: “What happened?”

Miao Yi said, “It’s nothing big. I’m heading back now, I have work tomorrow.”

“Okay,” Qiu Yang nodded.

Shen Ningruo also said, “Goodbye.”

As soon as the door closed, Qiu Yang looked at Shen Ningruo with a scrutinizing gaze.

“That day you and your senior were singing, I came to find you,” Shen Ningruo said concisely, “I happened to run into her then.”

Hearing this, Qiu Yang remembered; Miao Yi had mentioned this to her before.

Qiu Yang: “I remember now.”

Without Miao Yi’s attention, Pingzi went back to staying on her climbing frame. Qiu Yang went over and rubbed her head. Just as she turned around, Shen Ningruo wrapped her arms around her waist, cupped the back of her head, and pressed her against the wall.

“I’ll ask you again, did you miss me?” Shen Ningruo’s nose brushed against Qiu Yang’s nose.

Pingzi automatically buried her head.

Kids shouldn’t watch.

The next day was Monday. As soon as Qiu Yang finished the morning meeting, she received a message from Shen Ningruo: 【I’ll be coming to Wanming this afternoon.】

During the meeting, the project team mentioned that regarding the ongoing collaboration with Qiyao, some details still needed to be discussed between the two companies.

Qu Yan said that Qiyao’s people would be coming this time, but unlike last time, a different person would be handling the liaison with Qiyao. Qiu Yang didn’t expect Shen Ningruo to come; her eyebrow twitched. Just as she was about to say they wouldn’t run into each other again, she received a second message from Shen Ningruo: 【Just being able to see you is enough.】
