PSMD – Chapter 85

Thankfully, Yao Yao didn’t raise her voice when she said that, otherwise, they might have been stared at by others, even though Shen Ningruo didn’t care about other people’s opinions.

Yao Yao’s breathing quickened. That day, Shen Ningruo called Yue Chu over and then left, completely unaware of what Yao Yao went through. Thinking back now, Yao Yao felt that weak-legged feeling returning.

Yue Chu coaxed her while also… well, she didn’t seem tired at all. She didn’t stop until she had completely driven away Yao Yao’s jealousy, finally asking her in a threatening tone, “Dare to be like that again?”

How could she dare?

Yao Yao felt like she was about to break.

Now, it turned out that Yue Chu’s junior was Qiu Yang, Shen Ningruo’s little girlfriend. Knowing this truth, Yao Yao felt a bit speechless.

She had a great time that day, but at the same time, her back and legs were sore for several days.

If she had known earlier that the junior was Qiu Yang, if she had known earlier that the cat was Qiu Yang’s cat, Yao Yao definitely wouldn’t have gotten jealous randomly, wouldn’t have cried so badly due to insecurity, and naturally wouldn’t have sought comfort from Shen Ningruo…

Everything was because she didn’t know.

“I think it’s absolutely necessary,” Yao Yao clenched her fists.

Shen Ningruo nodded, “Alright, alright, I know you’ve been wronged. If others knew about this, they’d definitely say some people are starving while others are drowning in it.”

“I’m sleeping back tonight,” Yao Yao picked up her chopsticks again, saying testily.

Shen Ningruo just found it amusing. She hadn’t expected Yue Chu, who seemed so abstinent on the surface, to handle things in such a simple and rough manner.

But it was clear that Yao Yao responded to this approach.

Shen Ningruo felt that she and Qiu Yang wouldn’t be like that, because Qiu Yang was sensitive, and things had to be resolved with a serious attitude, by talking things through.

“Okay,” Shen Ningruo replied, then smiled and looked towards Qiu Yang’s table. Their eyes met again.

Shen Ningruo quietly put her right hand near her ear, and while Yao Yao was eating, she made an “OK” gesture.

This was their prearranged signal.

Qiu Yang saw it and knew the progress on Shen Ningruo’s side. She pursed her lips, pondered for a few seconds, and then, when Yue Chu looked over, she put on a slightly hesitant expression.

“Is something wrong?” Yue Chu ate gracefully, never speaking with food in her mouth. She put down her chopsticks, picked up her water glass, and asked Qiu Yang before taking a sip.

Qiu Yang nodded, “Mm.”

“Tell me,” Yue Chu finished her water and looked over.

Qiu Yang wrinkled her nose before opening her mouth, “Jie, I saw you outside the swimming pool the other day.”

Yue Chu was startled, “Did you see anything else?”

“Mm.”

“I watched you get in the car until it disappeared,” Qiu Yang said tactfully.

But Yue Chu, being the person involved, naturally remembered clearly what had happened. So her expression became a little unnatural. She let out an “Ah” and didn’t know what to say.

She had never mentioned to Qiu Yang that the “certain person” she talked about was a woman, but now Qiu Yang had caught her red-handed.

Yue Chu held the glass again, but this time she had no intention of drinking. She looked at Qiu Yang several times before breaking the slightly silent atmosphere, “That was her.”

Qiu Yang nodded, “I know.”

Qiu Yang added, “I know who she is.”

Yue Chu was a little surprised, “You know?”

“Yes, I met her once, on your first day at your new job,” Qiu Yang remembered the time clearly.

Yue Chu swallowed, unsure what to say for a moment. She opened her mouth, but in the end, only managed, “Is that so.”

Frankly, Yue Chu wasn’t mentally prepared to tell Qiu Yang that she also liked women. It was indeed her lack of courage, but now she didn’t even need to say it herself; she had been caught red-handed.

She felt a bit awkward, but amidst the awkwardness, she also felt a sense of relief.

“That’s great,” Yue Chu added the latter half of the sentence, trying hard to make her reaction seem calm.

Qiu Yang smiled, “It is great, Jie.”

She said sincerely, “Congratulations.”

“Thank you.”

After both sides had finished talking, the meal came to an end together. Shen Ningruo and Qiu Yang exchanged signals one more time before leading their respective companions out of the lobby, one after the other.

Yue Chu walked side-by-side with Qiu Yang, her thoughts having returned. However, she felt that the back of a person a few meters away looked more and more like Yao Yao, and when the other person slightly turned their head, revealing their profile, she was absolutely certain it was Yao Yao.

Yue Chu’s mind worked quickly, and she instantly understood. She turned her head to look at Qiu Yang, “You and Shen Ningruo each asked us out?”

She had told Yao Yao tonight that she was having dinner with her junior, and Yao Yao had also said she was having dinner with Shen Ningruo. Since both had plans, neither thought too deeply about it.

She hadn’t expected them to be waiting for the two of them here.

“Yes.”

Yue Chu suddenly smiled, then said sincerely, “Thank you.”

“I was still worried that she was jealous of you, but now it seems that situation is impossible to happen again.”

Yao Yao and Shen Ningruo walked ahead. Soon, Shen Ningruo stopped, her eyebrows slightly raised, “Waiting for someone.”

Yao Yao looked ahead. Cars were driving in one after another, and people were getting out, but she didn’t see anyone familiar, “Waiting for who?”

As soon as she finished speaking, she saw Qiu Yang appear beside Shen Ningruo. Yao Yao’s mouth dropped open in surprise, and when she turned her head, she saw Yue Chu again.

Yao Yao: …

Yao Yao: !!!

Shen Ningruo’s lips curved, “We’re leaving now, goodbye.”

“Goodbye,” Yao Yao swallowed her shock.

Qiu Yang got into Shen Ningruo’s car. She felt much more relaxed now. Looking at Yao Yao and Yue Chu still standing at the hotel entrance, she found it a little funny.

“Going around in circles, stumbling and bumping, only to find it’s a loop,” Shen Ningruo started the car, summarizing the situation.

Qiu Yang nodded, “It is.”

“Let’s not worry about them,” Shen Ningruo’s lips curled up, “I’m taking you somewhere tonight.”

“Where?”

“You’ll know when we get there,” Shen Ningruo didn’t say directly, playing coy.

But the answer was revealed soon enough. Qiu Yang remembered what the area around her apartment complex looked like and realized that where Shen Ningruo was taking her was actually her own home.

She didn’t expose it, letting Shen Ningruo drive the car into the underground parking lot.

After getting out of the car, Shen Ningruo held her hand until they reached the door before letting go.

Qiu Yang watched Shen Ningruo enter the password. She smiled, “Did you change the password?”

“Yes, I changed it.”

“Changed it to the day we met.”

Qiu Yang hummed in response, her dimples appearing faintly again. She suddenly felt that being with Shen Ningruo like this was quite nice.

The window paper had been poked through, but not yet torn open; their true selves hadn’t been fully revealed yet.

But the feeling this brought was actually quite good.

The door opened, but Shen Ningruo raised her hand and covered Qiu Yang’s eyes first.

Qiu Yang was a little stunned, “I can’t see yet?”

“Wait a moment, Xiao Yang,” Shen Ningruo’s voice trailed up slightly again, her mood very cheerful, though she was actually a bit nervous but didn’t dare show it.

Qiu Yang didn’t know what Shen Ningruo was up to, but she just needed to cooperate, so she obediently closed her eyes.

Shen Ningruo’s palm was brushed by Qiu Yang’s eyelashes, which tickled a little. She pursed her lips, then turned on the light and softly uttered four words, “Welcome home.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she removed her hand from Qiu Yang’s eyes, revealing the scene she wanted Qiu Yang to see.

Qiu Yang’s eyes slowly opened. What came into view was a living room completely different from before.

If Shen Ningruo’s home before had felt like a hotel, making Qiu Yang feel cold and distant, then Shen Ningruo’s home now looked very different. From the lights on the ceiling to the carpet covering the floor, everything exuded a warm atmosphere.

In the corner, there was even a luxurious cat tree, practically a villa for cats.

“Pangpang will definitely love this,” Shen Ningruo said with great confidence, “If you have to go on a business trip again next time, you’re welcome to trouble me.”

Qiu Yang didn’t say anything. She was just shocked. She hadn’t been here for just a little while, and the place had completely changed. The tables, chairs, coffee table, and sofa had all been replaced by Shen Ningruo, making it look much warmer than before.

“Have you been busy with this recently?”

Qiu Yang caught the key point and turned to ask Shen Ningruo.

Shen Ningruo: …?

She hadn’t expected the conversation to go this way. She had indeed put effort into making this home look like this, but that was only in the past few days, not before.

“…Yes,” Shen Ningruo simply went along with it. She felt it might be okay for Qiu Yang to misunderstand, because she hadn’t finished investigating the matter with Qiu Yang’s uncle’s family yet.

Thinking this, Shen Ningruo felt more confident, “Yes, I’ve been busy with this.”

Qiu Yang’s lips curved. She stepped barefoot on the soft carpet, her gaze lingering on various spots for a few seconds before looking at Shen Ningruo, “You said you’d explain after you finished being busy here, right?”

“I wanted you to see a warm place.”

“You haven’t been here in a long time,” Shen Ningruo said, even putting on a pitiful look.

Qiu Yang nodded, “You’re right.”

“But since you hid this from me because of this, shouldn’t you be punished again?”

“Ruoruo Jiejie.”
