PTGWD Chapter 56: The Priest

Meekly opening his body and consciousness to the deity.

He saw the wet marks left on his unsightly tentacles, refracting the dim light of the reading lamp, making the intricate patterns appear as if they were moving, seemingly actively welcoming the inspection of his lover.

Fang Xingzhou seemed to be fascinated by this. After tasting all the epidermis, he paused briefly, slightly squinting his eyes, breathing heavily, and used his gaze to outline the patterns.

Lu Jianchuan was burned by his gaze, swallowing subconsciously, and asked hoarsely, “…What does it taste like?”

Fang Xingzhou did not answer.

His fingers slowly rubbed the moist epidermis, and after a long time, he murmured, “There’s a faint sweet and fishy taste, quite good.”

The tentacles immediately began to wriggle excitedly, growing longer and longer, like a snake wrapping around the lover’s wrist, extending a monster’s “tongue” from the mouthparts, reciprocating by licking up the arm from the wrist.

Fang Xingzhou laughed, “It can still grow.” Then he grasped the tentacle again, holding it in his palm, once more carefully caressing and examining it.

A sweet and sticky silence ensued.

“So beautiful…” Fang Xingzhou softly praised in a ethereal tone, “The patterns seem to move, is this just a small section? What does the complete one look like? What is the body connected to the tentacles?”

The tip of the tentacle shyly curled up, rubbing against the lover’s hand. Lu Jianchuan was so praised that he felt like floating, his Adam’s apple rolling, his tail swollen and aching, completely losing the human language system, emitting two ambiguous sounds from his vocal cords.

Fang Xingzhou turned the tentacle over again, examining the suckers and mouthparts on it.

The suckers opened and closed, and upon closer inspection, there were dense tiny hairs inside that could pierce into the prey’s body once wrapped around it, giving it no chance to escape.

The mouthparts were gently closed, and Fang Xingzhou probed inside with his fingers, quickly seeing the overlapping sharp teeth, reflecting a cold, sharp light, which could rotate to become a devastating meat grinder.

But now, it was just carefully rubbing against the lover’s fingertips, sucking on his skin, appearing exceptionally cute. Fang Xingzhou could hardly control the intense emotions welling up in his heart, couldn’t help but lower his head, touching these terrifying killing machines with his lips.

Lu Jianchuan felt a rush of heat quickly rising from his abdomen to the top of his head, human reason being eroded by the monster’s will.

He feared he might do something excessive the next second, desperately trying to regain his vocal cords, begging, “Zhouzhou… don’t do this.”

But Fang Xingzhou seemed completely unaware of the danger, still marveling, his tone no longer calm as usual, even somewhat incoherent.

“It’s mesmerizing, little deer. Is this an octopus? A squid? Or some kind of snake? Or perhaps a more advanced, mysterious species not of this world?”

“…I seem to be a bit out of control now,” Fang Xingzhou paused briefly, trying to calm himself, “It’s incredibly beautiful to the point where some impulses are controlling my brain…”

Hot breath sprayed on the cool epidermis of the tentacle, the light gray patterns slowly transforming into a dazzling sapphire blue, almost glowing, like a peacock frantically displaying its feathers after being praised by its mate.

“It looks familiar, I don’t know why,” Fang Xingzhou’s voice grew softer, “I haven’t seen such a creature before, yet it feels like I should have seen it somewhere… Did you eat well tonight?”

Lu Jianchuan’s legs disappeared, replaced by several thicker, more dangerous tentacles, winding on the bed, eagerly wrapping around Fang Xingzhou’s ankles, then quickly moving upwards…

“I ate very well,” his voice was as hoarse as sandpaper, the tone strange, already deviating from normal human speech, “Baby, do you know what you’re saying?”

Fang Xingzhou reluctantly withdrew his gaze from the tentacle, looking at Lu Jianchuan’s face.

The two briefly locked eyes, both filled with intense love that seemed about to ignite.

“I know,” he said, “Lu Jianchuan, my mouth is constantly secreting saliva now, as hungry as if I haven’t eaten for three days, is it influenced by you?”

Lu Jianchuan was on the verge of explosion at these words.

A special tentacle extended a monster tail that had hardly been used in this lifetime—its only use was on the sweet night when Lu Jianchuan devoured the queen ant—

He had never dared to imagine that one day he could show Fang Xingzhou his ugliest, most unspeakable side while he was fully awake.

Lu Jianchuan used his human-formed left hand to caress Fang Xingzhou’s lips, prying open his teeth, and rudely playing with his tongue with his index finger.

The fingertip was quickly moistened by the saliva that surged out, so he took the finger back and put it into his own mouth.

“I’m not hungry at all, Zhouzhou,” he said, “Your strong appetite is not influenced by me… What are you craving?”

Fang Xingzhou turned his gaze back to the tentacle.

Upon seeing it, that mysterious sweet and fishy taste seemed to rise from the root of his tongue, he swallowed continuously, finally deciding not to torment himself any longer, and stuffed this tentacle that could easily strangle him into his mouth, biting down hard without mercy, enough to tear off a piece of flesh.

But to Lu Jianchuan’s main body, the fragile human teeth could not harm it at all, Fang Xingzhou’s chewing was as gentle as a little flirtation between lovers, only making him more excited.

In places unseen, Fang Xingzhou’s limbs were already wrapped in layers, like a poor prey caught in a spider’s web.

Lu Jianchuan had somehow covered him from above, pinning Fang Xingzhou to the pillow with a dangerous gaze. He still maintained a flawless face, his body also kept in human form, but his hands and feet had all disappeared, standing semi-erect on the bed with tentacles like a snake demon.

“Does it taste good?” Lu Jianchuan asked.

Just as Fang Xingzhou was about to answer, he “shushed” him, withdrawing the tentacle from Fang Xingzhou’s mouth, pulling out a long string of saliva, then using a new tentacle tip to repeatedly caress the lover’s damp mouth corner, maintaining a gentleman’s demeanor with his last bit of reason, whispering, “Baby, you can tell me… if it doesn’t taste good. I’ll revert to human form, tonight…”

Before he could finish.

He saw Fang Xingzhou give him a gentle smile, biting onto a small section of the tentacle tip.

Like a priest stepping down from the altar, meekly opening his body and consciousness to the deity.

Lu Jianchuan slightly stunned, his pupils quickly narrowing into a slit, his brain blanking out again.

He gasped urgently, lowered his head, and roughly sealed Fang Xingzhou’s lips.

When Fang Xingzhou regained consciousness, a faint light seeped through the gaps in the curtains, barely illuminating the dim room.

…What time is it?

He stared at the ceiling, slowly recalling the madness of last night, his breathing quickened a few beats, subconsciously reaching out to touch the side, only to find it empty.

The spot beside him was already cold. Fang Xingzhou was blanked for two seconds, tried to sit up using his elbows, but the tearing soreness quickly numbed his nerves, his forehead sweating, body weak, and fell back onto the pillow.

The sound of cooking faintly came from outside the door.

Fang Xingzhou opened his mouth, wanting to call Lu Jianchuan in for help, but his overused vocal cords completely failed, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t make a sound.

Fang Xingzhou: “…”

After a moment of helplessness, he simply closed his eyes again, counting the ticks of the clock, tick, tick… about a hundred ticks passed.

The person cooking downstairs seemed to sense something, came upstairs, pushed open the door, and walked quietly to the bedside.

Fang Xingzhou deliberately kept his eyes closed.

Lu Jianchuan leaned down, his nostrils flaring, carefully sniffing from the lover’s forehead all the way to the chin, confirming through the scent that he was now awake, then spoke extremely cautiously, “Good morning, baby.”

Fang Xingzhou opened his eyes.

A handsome face came into view, Lu Jianchuan was still wearing an apron, looking human, with all limbs intact, seemingly having no connection to the terrifying monster that was just a shell last night.

He was extremely guilty, his gaze secretly glancing at the frighteningly swollen bite marks on the lover’s collarbone.

“How are you feeling?” His voice grew less confident, “Do you need help?”

Fang Xingzhou opened his mouth again, silently saying “yes”.

Lu Jianchuan felt even more guilty, took off the apron, gently picked up the person on the bed, kissed his lips, and turned to walk into the bathroom.

“Last night I wanted to clean you up, but you wouldn’t let me,” Lu Jianchuan explained proactively, “You didn’t allow me to leave the bed.”

Fang Xingzhou nodded, he remembered.

Last night he kept pulling on Lu Jianchuan’s tentacles, even picking his favorite one, tying a bow on his wrist, not allowing him to revert to human form, nor to leave his side for even a moment.

After waking up, these detailed memories flooded his mind… Fang Xingzhou’s face quickly flushed with heat.

Lu Jianchuan was still deeply reflecting on his excessive behavior, after entering the bathroom he changed his position, holding Fang Xingzhou with one hand, and with the other hand reached out to turn on the faucet. As the hot water gushed into the bathtub, he suddenly realized—he could use tentacles now.

So, he immediately used both hands to hold his wife tightly again, extended two tentacles to undo Fang Xingzhou’s clothes, then used two more tentacles to take the bath sponge, creating rich lather, very efficiently completing the preparations.

He carefully placed Fang Xingzhou into the warm water, staring at his slightly bulging belly, his Adam’s apple continuously rolling.

“I’ll be gentle.” He kissed Fang Xingzhou’s brow, but didn’t dare to look into his eyes.

Soon, the clear water seemed as if milk had been accidentally spilled into it, Fang Xingzhou’s nails dug into Lu Jianchuan’s arm, his damaged vocal cords emitting a few broken sounds.

Lu Jianchuan was heartbroken, rinsed off the soap and the murkiness, wrapped the person tightly with four tentacles, secreted a healing mucus from the mouthparts, wrapping his lover inside and out into a cocoon.

The unseen small wounds quickly healed, the soreness eased a lot, and the voice could finally make sounds again. Fang Xingzhou was surrounded by a familiar dark fragrance, couldn’t help but take a deep breath, held onto one of the tentacle tips, and placed a kiss on it.

Lu Jianchuan’s tail responded very honestly. He hurriedly retracted the tentacles, rinsed off the mucus, carefully wrapped his wife in a towel, and with little threat, warned, “You can’t touch them anymore.”

Fang Xingzhou’s voice was hoarse and slow, “…Why?”

Lu Jianchuan’s ears turned red, he didn’t speak, fetched a hairdryer to dry his hair.

Amidst the buzzing of the hairdryer, Fang Xingzhou lowered his gaze, saw the lively evidence.

He averted his gaze.

After drying his hair, Lu Jianchuan didn’t dare to stay in the same space with him any longer, said, “There’s still soup on the stove, I need to check on it. Come down for breakfast after you’re done, okay? I made lily soup.”

Fang Xingzhou nodded, showing a smile. Lu Jianchuan breathed a sigh of relief, fled from the bathroom in a panic.

He returned to the kitchen, no longer holding back, eighteen tentacles danced simultaneously, washing, chopping, stir-frying, cleaning the countertop, and in less than five minutes, all breakfast was prepared, only the lily stewed meat on the stove was still bubbling.

Lu Jianchuan stared at the bubbling soup for a moment.

A thought suddenly arose.

He excitedly pulled out a cleaver, quietly peeked out from the kitchen, looked upstairs, confirmed that his wife was changing clothes, then securely closed the kitchen door, retracted all tentacles near his body, lining them up.

“Um… now to choose a lucky tentacle,” his gaze swept over the eighteen tentacles, said as if it were a serious matter, “Zhouzhou wanted to taste your flavor last night, but unfortunately human teeth are too weak, couldn’t bite through.”

“—Which one did he bite?”

The eighteen tentacles vied to be the one, pretending to be the bitten one, eagerly rushing towards the sharp blade, afraid of losing the chance to be eaten if they were late. The two at the front even fought, one opened its mouthparts, fiercely biting the competitor, then was grabbed by Lu Jianchuan by the tentacle tip.

“It’s you.” He smiled.

The other seventeen unwillingly wriggled frantically, watching Lu Jianchuan decisively chop off a small section of the lucky tentacle, slice it, and throw it into the boiling lily meat soup.

They dejectedly drooped their heads, as if they had lost the meaning of living in just a few minutes, lying motionless on the floor. Only the chosen one, proudly swung in the air, drawing strength from the main body, quickly restored to its original form.

Footsteps of descending the stairs came from outside the kitchen.

Lu Jianchuan quickly retracted all tentacles, stirred the soup on the stove.

The newly added “ingredient” had already melted into the soup, at first glance there was nothing unusual, only a rich aroma emanated from the bubbling bubbles.

Lu Jianchuan was very satisfied with his cooking skills, finally sprinkled a thin layer of salt, his smile deepened, turned off the heat, and ladled the soup into a bowl.

Behind him came the sound of the kitchen door being opened.

He turned around with the soup, looked at Fang Xingzhou who had changed into a high-necked long-sleeve, smiled sweetly, and said in a honeyed voice, “Baby, come taste the breakfast I made.”
