QHM Chapter 85 – Part 2

[mfn]TL: Part 2[/mfn]No doubt—he was an absolute tyrant.

As they lay back down, Xu Yin, half-asleep, asked, “By the way, why did you agree to film that variety show?”

Yan Shixiu stroked his head and said, “The day I received the invitation, I dreamed that I found you.”

And as it turned out, his lover really was here.

Upon hearing that, Xu Yin woke up a little more.

Ah, his heart ached.

He snuggled into Yan Shixiu’s arms and murmured, “These next few days, I’ll stay with you. Whatever you want to do, we’ll do it.”

Yan Shixiu held him tightly. On the surface, he looked composed, but in his eyes, a brilliant light had flared.

In the days that followed, Xu Yin came to “personally” understand that some promises shouldn’t be made so easily.

But that’s a story for another time.

*

While the two of them were being reckless all night long, over on the “Horror Chain” forum, things had already blown up.

Someone had cut out the clip where Xu Yin read aloud all of the cringe god’s WeChat messages and uploaded it to a certain video platform. Countless people on the forum rushed over to watch, like, and donate coins.

The buzz was so intense that even random passersby on the video platform began to take notice.

At first, everyone was captivated by the angelic voice of the “angel” on screen. But after checking the comments and catching up on the context, they all exploded—

What? These messages were originally sent by a streamer to that angel?!

The streamer treated this angel like some gullible fool, sending all those flirtatious, suggestive messages, then later pretended it had meant nothing—and his fans were still insisting it was just “normal brotherly affection”?!

What kind of nauseating brotherly affection is that?!

And so, overnight, content creators across all sections of the platform became active.

The meme edit creators in the section churned out meme videos. In the entertainment section, several creators uploaded videos of themselves reading those infamous WeChat messages aloud, titling the messages as “Words of Love.”

It turned out, no matter how dominant or submissive a creator’s voice sounded, those messages were definitely not something a normal man would ever say to a “bro.”

In the barrage of comments, netizens were calling out:

“I can’t take it!”

“HAHAHAHAHA!”

“I’ve got goosebumps all over…”

“That Chuuni God’s fans think this is normal?”

“Do his fans even have brains???”

Then they flooded over to the Horror Chain forum, eventually tracking down the live rooms of both the Chuuni God and Xu Yin.

And just like that, the Chuuni God’s goal was halfway met…

His follower count was still dropping—but hey, the view counts on his old videos were climbing!

That said, while the view counts went up, so did an incredibly consistent wave of scrolling comments—

“Have you shared your Words of Love today?”

…And so the Chuuni God started losing followers even faster!

Well, perhaps he was finally starting to feel some shame.

Meanwhile, Xu Yin’s follower count was skyrocketing.

That apocalyptic game video’s metrics were soaring at a terrifying rate.

Some of the new viewers tuned in to hear Xu Yin’s soothing “Words of Love” to cleanse their ears, others were in it for the CP.

Once people realized that the adorable “Flower God” who had spammed sixteen bouquets in that video had always been a cold, stoic, nearly silent top-tier player in the earlier clips—well, they started shipping them like crazy.

“Wanna know what Yin and the Flower God are doing on this beautiful night?”

“Please, more duo streams—feed the kids, they’re starving!!”

“I’m not full yet—I can still devour this dog food!!!”

Of course, since the dawn of time, there has never been a scandal where some die-hard fans didn’t try to excuse the fall from grace.

Even at this point, a few of the Chuuni God’s fans were stubbornly trying to defend him—

“I don’t get why you’re all celebrating. Chuuni God still hasn’t broken up with his girlfriend. Doesn’t that prove he’s innocent? If he were really cheating—flirting with Yin while dating her—wouldn’t his girlfriend have left him by now?”

Someone sarcastically commented:

“His girlfriend is really just a tool, huh. When nothing’s happening, you fans drag her out to bash her. When something does happen, you drag her out again to defend him. Must be exhausting being her.”

And… wasn’t that the truth?

That was the truth.

When there were no incidents, the girlfriend was constantly being mocked behind her back by his fans with thinly veiled jabs.

Yet when this whole mess with Yin came to light, she was suddenly being used as proof that the Chuuni God wasn’t gay, and that there was nothing wrong with his character.

Some of his fans, enraged by this take, snapped back:

“So now you all think you understand him better than his girlfriend? She doesn’t think he did anything wrong, but you all think he should rot in jail and die for his crimes, is that it?!”

“?? No one’s saying he should go to jail, thanks. People are just laughing at the mess he made himself. /picks nose”

“Well, then let me offer a different take: anyone who can date a guy like that for this long probably isn’t all there either. Maybe they are a perfect match.”

…But as it turned out, the girlfriend really had lost her head for a time.

Yet in the end, she was still a normal person.

When Xu Yin woke up around noon the next day, he found a private message in his inbox.

The sender was another streamer. Xu Yin had to think hard to remember—ah, right.

It was the Chuuni God’s girlfriend.

She used to stream too, but hadn’t done much in the past couple years. Her follower count wasn’t very high.

She had written a long message:

“Hello, I’m Shuangcheng, the girlfriend of the God of Chuuni. I’m really sorry that it took me until now to offer you a proper apology…”

She explained that after the incident, she and the Chuuni God had fought.

They’d met in high school and had been together for five years. She didn’t know how he really felt about her, but she had loved him deeply.

When it happened, she suddenly realized the guy she thought she knew was not the same person in front of her. She’d sensed something was off—but couldn’t bring herself to believe it.

She had always been a decisive person.

But about a month ago, after he gave her a long-winded explanation, she had foolishly chosen to deceive herself. The kind of hesitation and emotional entanglement she showed shocked even her.

But the truth is: what cannot be fooled, cannot be fooled.

On the surface, she was still his girlfriend, but deep down, she had already begun to resist his presence.

She began observing his every move—and in doing so, every image she had of him began to fall apart.

She tried multiple times to have an honest conversation with him, but he always dodged the topic, avoided her gaze.

She started secretly watching Xu Yin’s streams, reporting malicious comments. She asked the Chuuni God to rein in his fans, but he just brushed her off.

Bit by bit, her heart went cold.

All her patience and hesitation finally reached its end last night.

She’d already been watching Xu Yin’s apocalyptic stream when it began—and she saw her boyfriend shamelessly insert himself into it.

And in that game, her boyfriend revealed his true, pathetic self:

Irrational, performative, foul-mouthed.

It was unbearable.

And she finally realized: some wrongs should have been righted a long time ago.

At the end of her long message, she wrote:

“I’m sorry. I should have broken up with him and spoken out for you a month ago, when it all started.”

If she’d taken a stance early on, at least the Chuuni God’s fans wouldn’t have been able to use her as a shield, and maybe they would have dialed it back.

Her hesitation had only fueled the situation further.

Xu Yin, after reading the message, thought… well, honestly, this wasn’t really her fault.

A lot of things need the right trigger to happen.

Sure, maybe now the Chuuni God was finally done for, and Shuangcheng stepping up might seal the coffin.

But a month ago? Even if she’d broken up with him then, his fans would’ve said:

“Wow, you don’t even trust your boyfriend? You’re a terrible girlfriend.”

Xu Yin had seen this kind of thing far too many times.

So Xu Yin just casually replied, “It’s fine. What matters is that you’ve figured it out.”

Then he put his phone down and went back to sleep with his man.

—Completely unaware that after he sent that reply, the girl, finally unburdened, immediately stormed into the Chuuni God’s livestream.

Right as the Chuuni God was shamelessly ignoring all the mocking comments and stubbornly streaming to make money, she, in front of tens of thousands of viewers, beat the living hell out of him in the game’s dungeon.

Then, with a refreshed sigh, she exited the dungeon.

And once again, the forums exploded.

《HAHAHAHA the God of Delusion just got his ass kicked by his girlfriend on stream—is this a breakup?!》

《Hey God of Delusion fans, you wanted a girlfriend? Well, here she is! She kicked his ass and peaced out!》

《I take back what I said about Shuangcheng not being all there—turns out she’s a sane queen after all (:3)∠)》

《Guys, I’ve been eating drama nonstop all night, I haven’t slept—can the drama please pause so I can nap?!》

《Screw it, I’m not sleeping anymore. Let the drama come down even harder!》
