QHM Chapter 89 – Part 2

Chen Yu had been dragged out by his roommates today to follow the variety show crew around. He’d found it incredibly boring, and now that it was finally over, he felt free. As he walked along with the crowd, he casually checked his phone—and immediately froze.

Huh??

The Flower God is Yan Shixiu?? The same Yan Shixiu who was just performing on stage?!

Chen Yu couldn’t believe it and scrolled through the trending topic in disbelief. Then he tried to recall what had happened during the evening showcase—and damn it, he realized he couldn’t remember a thing!

He’d spent the whole time replaying last night’s game in his head—his own social-death moment!

The two roommates walking beside him had also just seen the trending topic and were whispering to each other:

“Damn, seriously? This feels straight out of a TV drama.”

“Kinda seems real… the fans are saying it’s true… I looked into it—this Yin guy got dumped by another streamer just a month ago…”

“Whoa, and that streamer’s fans even cyberbullied him. And now, one month later, he’s made this epic comeback. This is literally a novel plot…”

“That streamer apparently was cheating but refused to admit it. Now his whole image has collapsed, his girlfriend dumped him, and he totally crashed and burned during the anniversary event last night—haha!”

They were still laughing when both roommates suddenly froze mid-chuckle.

Come to think of it, they remembered—

Chen Yu also streamed on that Horror Chain app.

Chen Yu had never told them his streamer handle, and they weren’t very interested anyway, so they’d never looked into it.

All they knew were occasional things Chen Yu had rant about.

Like how he was being chased by some gay guy who got it into his head that they were dating.

Then, when the guy found out Chen Yu had a girlfriend, he flipped out. But Chen Yu’s fans clapped back, hard, and the guy rage-quit the platform. So satisfying.

Or how a month later, that same gay guy came back with a boyfriend, threw shade at him in-game, like he was getting revenge—and that whole drama led to Chen Yu’s girlfriend breaking up with him.

Or, how just last night, during the anniversary event…

That same gay guy completely destroyed him and made him socially combust on the spot…

One by one, all those events seemed to match perfectly with the gossip about “that streamer” now trending online.

But…

The two roommates exchanged glances.

That couldn’t be right, could it?

Even if the events matched, the way Chen Yu had described things was completely different!

In his version, he was totally the victim.

Not at all like the sleazy, manipulative, utterly shameless “streamer” everyone online was gossiping about.

They were probably overthinking it… right?

They turned to look at Chen Yu, just about to ask him something—

When suddenly, four boys walked past them.

Three of them were talking to the fourth:

“By the way, your boyfriend really does look like Yan Shixiu. The more I look, the more I see it…”

The fourth boy was very good-looking. He gave a soft laugh and said, “Really?”

He had barely spoken when Chen Yu’s ears twitched—he reached out and grabbed him, stunned.

“Yin?!”

In that instant, Chen Yu’s three roommates froze in place.

And so did Xu Yin’s three roommates, who stood there a little dazed.

Chen Yu still hated Yin’s guts and naturally remembered his voice perfectly.

He stared at the boy in front of him—

He vaguely remembered that this was the guy who had stared him down in the cafeteria that day.

His roommate had even said his name was Xu Yin!

Chen Yu said in disbelief, “You’re Yin? You go to the same school as me? You recognized me back in the cafeteria that day, didn’t you?!”

Xu Yin raised an eyebrow, just about to respond—

When a tall figure stepped out from the crowd.

He reached over, took hold of Xu Yin’s hand, gave it a slight tug to pull it free from Chen Yu’s grasp, and then held it tightly on his own.

The man was only wearing a baseball cap, no mask. It wasn’t clear if he didn’t have time to put one on, or just forgot.

Either way, everyone clearly saw his face—and froze on the spot.

Yan Shixiu gave Chen Yu a cold glance.

Chen Yu flinched, took a step back, and remained in a stunned daze.

Then Yan Shixiu turned to Xu Yin’s three roommates, nodded, and said in a low voice,

“I’m taking Yin Yin with me. I’ll treat you all to a meal some other day.”

The three roommates—who hadn’t been on Weibo and had no idea what was going on online—stood there like wooden statues.

“Ah… oh…”

Xu Yin waved his hand and smiled sweetly. “If you have questions, message me on WeChat later.”

His three roommates were still frozen like wooden dummies:

“Ah… oh…”

And just like that—Xu Yin was taken away by Yan Shixiu.

Taken away.

Taken.

Away.

After a brief stunned silence, the group exploded!

Xu Yin’s roommates:

“Damn! I knew his boyfriend looked crazy familiar! That—that was freaking Yan Shixiu himself?!”

“Holy hell, seriously?! What the hell?! When did that happen? How did he even score that?!”

“Wait, Yan Shixiu just said he’d treat us to a meal—was he serious?! Someone punch me—OW! Not that hard, dude!!”

Chen Yu’s roommates:

“Sh*t… was that really Yan Shixiu just now?”

“Yeah… that was definitely him! Chen Yu, wait—you’re not… You’re not the God of Chuuni the internet’s talking about, are you?!”

“Right! You said he recognized you, and that look Yan Shixiu gave you just now… You are the God of Chuuni, huh?? But what you told us doesn’t match anything people are saying online??”

“Yeah! I even cursed Yin with you! Bro—don’t tell me it’s really you?!”

“I—no, I…”

Under the barrage of questions from his three roommates, Chen Yu finally broke down.

Xu Yin was quickly whisked away by Yan Shixiu through the side gate of the school and into a waiting car.

Their makeup artist was acting as the driver for the day. She cheerfully called out, “Buckle up!” before revving the engine and zooming away from the school gate.

Xu Yin let out a breath, turned his head to look at the man beside him, and chuckled lightly.

“You showed your face like that—aren’t you worried about causing another media storm?”

“Not afraid,” Yan Shixiu said, gripping Xu Yin’s hand tightly, his gaze deep and unwavering.

“If you’re willing, Yin Yin… we might even make an even bigger headline.”

Xu Yin blinked, caught off guard, interest gleaming in his eyes. “What kind of headline?”

The man curled his lips into a smile. “Do you remember how we went public in the first world?”

At exactly midnight, the trending topics on Weibo exploded.

—Because Yan Shixiu and the infamous “Horror Chain” streamer Yin posted the exact same Weibo post.

@YanShixiuV:

・I’ve been searching for him for many years. Thank you to the “Horror Chain” platform for letting us meet again.

・The reason we separated had nothing to do with anyone else—it was just one of many pauses that were bound to happen in our journey together.

・We won’t be apart again. @YinYinV

The two attached images were nearly identical: a single pale pink flower blooming quietly under the night sky.

It was their secret.

Their sweet, unspoken secret—now shared with the world.
