When it came to dealing with someone like Su Rui, Fu Shu had plenty of methods.
Didn’t she want to cling to her powerful thigh after being reborn?
Well, Fu Shu would deliberately deny her that satisfaction!
She was just an ordinary woman who happened to have a few extra decades of life-failure experience. So what if she was reborn? So what if she knew a few secrets? Did she really think she could pull any tricks right under Fu Shu’s nose?
Simply laughable!
A hint of playfulness colored her inscrutable expression. Fu Shu lifted her chin, not caring in the slightest if her words scared Su Rui to death.
“F-Fu Shu.”
Her voice stammered. Su Rui looked at Fu Shu as if she were about to collapse, forcing herself to remain calm. “Fu Shu, you’re joking, right?”
She has to be joking, right?
An unspeakable fear and panic slowly rose from the bottom of her heart, gradually taking over her entire body. Su Rui felt as if everything before her was a dream. All the efforts she had made since her rebirth, everything she had built, was laid bare before Fu Shu, as if she’d been stripped naked, the filth inside her exposed for all to see.
“A. Joke?”
Fu Shu enunciated each syllable, surprised that even now, Su Rui was still so good at hypnotizing herself.
A mocking glint flashed in her deep eyes.
Fu Shu tilted her head, her expression one of pure innocence.
“Yes, I’m joking. You’re not a failure, and you weren’t abandoned. Your body is clean and pure, untouched by the scent of that Young Master Ji. Your heart isn’t old, either; you’re still a budding young maiden. You didn’t deliberately seduce me, and your intentions for getting close to me are completely innocent.”
“Su Rui, you are as gorgeous as a red rose, your personality as unique as a thorny briar. You are beautiful and confident, a radiant light, a true stunner—not some lowly mud that anyone can step on and bully.”
“And the reason you’ve taken a liking to me isn’t because I have power, wealth, talent, and looks. You just genuinely like me as a person. It has nothing to do with those superficial, external things, right? You haven’t schemed against me, nor have you painstakingly tried to get close to me. You haven’t deliberately tried to please anyone. You’re just so wonderful that even Muzi Qi often speaks up for you.”
“So wonderful that you fit into this circle like a fish in water.”
“You haven’t relied on anyone. You’re just…”
“Too wonderful.”
The string of sarcastic, barbed words poured from Fu Shu’s red lips, making Su Rui feel as if she had been plunged into an icy cellar.
This time, no matter how much Su Rui wanted to deceive herself, it was impossible.
She knows. Fu Shu knows! The thought flashed relentlessly through her mind. With a clatter, the glass in Su Rui’s hand slipped from her grasp and fell to the floor. In an instant, the crimson liquid splattered everywhere, even speckling Fu Shu’s suit trousers and black leather shoes.
“What’s going on?”
The private room was large. Although Muzi Qi and the others couldn’t hear Fu Shu and Su Rui’s conversation, they heard the sound of the glass hitting the floor loud and clear.
They simultaneously put down their cards and looked toward the corner, not at all annoyed by the interruption.
“Su. Rui.”
Ignoring Muzi Qi, Fu Shu glanced down at her now-soiled pants and shoes. When she looked back up at Su Rui, the smile was gone from her face.
Good. Just great.
With her expression turning grim, Fu Shu looked sinister and unsettling. Su Rui trembled in fear, her eyes filled with terror.
“I-I’m sorry, Fu Shu, I didn’t mean to, really.”
Forgetting all about her pride, Su Rui apologized in a state of panic, a testament to how much authority Fu Shu commanded in their daily lives.
“Get out!”
Not wanting to deal with Su Rui any longer, Fu Shu had already sentenced her to death in her mind. This self-righteous, idiotic woman… she truly had no idea why the heavens would let her be reborn. It was a complete waste of precious resources.
“Fu Shu, please don’t do this to me, I’m begging you. I really didn’t do it on purpose.”
Knowing that being despised by Fu Shu was tantamount to being ostracized by the entire upper class, Su Rui pushed aside the chaos in her mind, desperate to earn Fu Shu’s forgiveness.
She had worked so hard to get to where she was today. She didn’t want to lose everything. She timidly stepped forward, wanting to grab the hem of Fu Shu’s clothes, but how could Fu Shu possibly let her get her wish?
“Su Rui, if you can’t recognize your own place, I will personally help you.” The icily spoken words, laced with a solemn warning, successfully halted Su Rui’s steps. A look of disgust flashed in Fu Shu’s eyes as she turned her head to Muzi Qi. “Did you see that? Get her out of here. I don’t want to see her again.”
According to Youyou, she was supposed to end up in a “marry first, love later” relationship with this woman. Fu Shu found this 120,000 percent unbelievable. After all, she wasn’t stupid or an idiot. How could she possibly marry Su Rui when she despised her this much?
Su Rui thought her disguise was perfect, but Fu Shu had only been too lazy to bother with her. She wasn’t actually blind. How could she not see Su Rui’s petty little schemes?
“Yes, Boss.”
Muzi Qi rubbed his nose awkwardly and shot a look at his friends beside him. Together, they dragged the seemingly dumbstruck Su Rui out of the room.
This was reality.
No matter how wonderful Su Rui was or how much they liked her, she was not as important as Fu Shu herself. The central figure of their small group was Fu Shu. Whether from a perspective of benefits or affection, Su Rui was the one to be abandoned.
Closing the door to the room, Muzi Qi walked up to Fu Shu with a grin, ruffling his messy yellow hair as he asked in a fawning tone, “Boss, what did Su Rui do to piss you off?”
He knew that ever since the Boss met Qian Li—no, Bai Youyou—she hadn’t gotten angry like this in front of them for a very long time.
“She pissed me off in every way imaginable.”
A trace of anger still lingered in her eyes. Fu Shu felt completely uncomfortable. She desperately wanted to take a shower and then hold Youyou’s soft, pliant body.
Taking a deep breath to suppress the hostile energy in her heart, Fu Shu’s gaze shifted to Muzi Qi, her companion since childhood, and she spoke in a chilling voice.
“I don’t care what methods you have to use. I want you to set Su Rui up with that playboy from the Ji family. One month. I want to see the two of them married.”
Su Rui wants to escape that Ji family fire pit?
Heh, then I’ll be the one to kick her right into it.
Muzi Qi: “…”
Muzi Qi offered Su Rui a few seconds of silent mourning in his heart before looking at Fu Shu and nodding. He knew that when it came to people she didn’t care about, Fu Shu was usually too lazy to even look at them, let alone deal with them. This time, Su Rui must have truly gotten on her last nerve.
Just like all those others before her.
“Then thanks in advance.”
Fu Shu still trusted Muzi Qi’s abilities. Playfully running a hand through her medium-length, tea-colored hair, Fu Shu suddenly froze, her expression darkening instantly. “Dammit, I completely forgot—I dyed my hair too?”
In order to seduce Youyou, Fu Shu had given herself a beautiful new look a while ago. However, she rarely paid attention to her own appearance, so she had only just now realized that Su Rui’s hairstyle was nearly identical to her own.
A wave of revulsion washed over her. Fu Shu’s face was grim as she stood up and walked toward the door.
“Boss, where are you going?”
“My hair. I’m getting it redone.”
With a nod to her friends, Fu Shu added another black mark against Su Rui’s name in her mind.
She hated that Su Rui looked like her. Since they both fell into the “fiery and seductive” category of woman, Fu Shu couldn’t bear to imagine the look on Youyou’s face—that little pervert—if she saw Su Rui. What’s more, as for how her family found out about her relationship with Youyou and went to threaten her, Fu Shu refused to believe that Su Rui didn’t have a hand in it.
Back in the private room, the group was thunderstruck by Fu Shu’s words. They watched her leave, then looked at each other as if they had just seen a ghost.
“Is the Boss… in love again?” a handsome man with charming, almond-shaped eyes and pale pink lips guessed, tilting his head.
Like the others, he had only realized the Boss had been dumped when she became even more deranged than usual. He had also investigated Qian Li and had wanted to teach her a lesson, but just thinking about Fu Shu’s expression back then was enough to make him shiver.
It was just too damn terrifying. The Boss was a total demon lord.
“I noticed it, you know. The Boss dyed her hair and curled it, and it looks almost the same as Su Rui’s. I’m guessing that’s why she got so angry,” said a cute girl with short black hair.
Normally, they would have noticed such a small detail much earlier, but Fu Shu’s aura was simply too powerful. No matter how she dressed, in their eyes, Fu Shu was always that lofty, impossibly noble queen.
Muzi Qi didn’t join his friends’ discussion. He was already thinking about how to carry out Fu Shu’s orders and force Su Rui to marry into the Ji family.
He knew of the Ji family playboy. In fact, on Su Rui’s behalf, he had even given the dissolute young master some trouble a few times. He remembered that the Ji heir seemed to really like Su Rui and was very interested in her, even sending her flowers several times. But Su Rui, for her part, clearly despised him.
He silently sighed that the Boss had given him a troublesome task, but his eyes lit up with a hint of amusement. He felt not a shred of pity for his former companion.
Fu Shu drove impatiently to a salon to get her hair changed.
She looked at the fiendishly beautiful woman in the mirror with big waves of red hair.
Fu Shu nodded in satisfaction.
She knew very well that Youyou, who judged everything by looks, had zero resistance to this type of fiendish beauty. If conditions had allowed, she would have dressed up like a silver-haired, purple-eyed anime character just to sweep Youyou completely off her feet.
Meanwhile, the subject of Fu Shu’s thoughts, young Miss You, was already fast asleep. She had no idea that her most feared enemy… had been targeted by the great demon lord Fu Shu.
In her dream, she saw Bai Qu and Su Ling. Their faces were pale and they were covered in blood, trapped in a desolate, isolated city in a sea of blood.
“Ah—!”
The next day, Youyou woke up from the nightmare, but she couldn’t remember a thing.
‘Xixi, I feel awful.’
Her heart felt empty, as if something were tugging at it. Youyou blinked her large, vacant eyes. She wanted to cry, but no tears would come.
