Chapter 101: The Cold, Crazy School Prince x The Spoiled, Delicate Little Brat 9
Jiang Luoluo looked down at his fingers, still held tightly in Mu Jianian’s grip.
To be fair, at 170 centimeters tall, Jiang Luoluo’s hands weren’t small. But when Mu Jianian held them, they inexplicably seemed smaller. Only the neatly trimmed, rounded nails peeked out.
Mu Jianian’s hand was warm, his fingers long and slender, with a kind of austere beauty.
He continued holding Jiang Luoluo’s hand as he retrieved the practice notebook and placed it on the table.
Jiang Luoluo felt his cheeks flush and his heart pound in his chest.
“Didn’t we already do this this afternoon?” Mu Jianian asked, still holding Jiang Luoluo’s hand as he casually flipped through the notebook.
Jiang Luoluo’s face turned crimson. “Mm,” he mumbled, “I forgot…”
“It’s fine. We should go now.”
After answering, Mu Jianian casually picked up Jiang Luoluo’s backpack.
The plush toy dangling from the zipper swayed back and forth, mirroring the ripples in Jiang Luoluo’s heart.
Jiang Luoluo stood up, still staring at the hand Mu Jianian was holding.
Mu Jianian’s expression remained composed, showing no intention of letting go.
Blushing furiously, Jiang Luoluo whispered like a mosquito, “Mu Jianian, there are so many people at school…”
Mu Jianian lowered his head to look at him, his cold gaze laced with amusement. “Hmm?”
Jiang Luoluo looked up at him, his beautiful eyes shimmering. “You’re making me embarrassed…”
Mu Jianian took his hand, his thumb gently caressing Jiang Luoluo’s fingertips. The touch seemed so soft and smooth that he lingered over it, reluctant to let go.
“So if I hold your hand outside of school, you won’t be embarrassed anymore?”
He lowered his head slightly, his clear, low voice echoing in Jiang Luoluo’s ear. “Then kiss me, and I’ll agree.”
The person in front of him tilted his head slightly, a hint of shyness flashing in his eyes. Mu Jianian pulled Jiang Luoluo’s finger and pressed it against his own cheek. The meaning was clear.
Jiang Luoluo quickly glanced around the classroom, then tiptoed forward and leaned in to kiss Mu Jianian’s cheek. But as he did, Mu Jianian turned his head, as if he’d anticipated the move.
Their soft lips brushed against each other. Jiang Luoluo’s eyes widened, his eyelashes fluttering like butterflies in the wind.
‘Mu Jianian… the Mu Jianian I knew when he was single was never like this…’
Jiang Luoluo’s face flushed even deeper. When they first met, he had been a cold, aloof flower on a high mountain peak. How had he suddenly become so skilled at this after falling in love?
Mu Jianian finally released his hand. “Good boy.” His low voice, tinged with a hint of youthful huskiness, seemed to burrow into Jiang Luoluo’s ears.
Jiang Luoluo walked ahead, clutching his bottle of juice, his face still burning.
“Teacher Xiao Mu is here! Wanwan has been waiting for you for ages!”
Seeing them return, Madam Jiang immediately instructed the nanny to cut some fruit.
Jiang Wanwan also came down the stairs, glancing at Mu Jianian before turning to Jiang Luoluo, who seemed a bit distracted behind him.
“Brother Jianian, I finished all the homework you left me last time!”
Mu Jianian nodded and turned to the person beside him. “Luo Luo? Get ready for class.”
Jiang Luoluo snapped back to reality, his cheeks flushed.
Madam Jiang brought over a glass of water and, seeing the schoolbag in Mu Jianian’s hand, playfully handed the water to Jiang Luoluo.
“This child! Making Teacher Xiao Mu carry his own schoolbag—he’s taking advantage!”
“It’s no problem, Auntie,” Mu Jianian said gently. “The bag isn’t heavy at all.”
With his tall, handsome appearance, refined demeanor, and the aura of a top student, combined with his polite and well-spoken manner, Mu Jianian had always been able to win over the hearts of adults.
Madam Jiang’s eyes crinkled with a smile.
If Luo Luo could truly become friends with Mu Jianian, it would be far better than hanging out with those second-generation rich kids who only knew how to eat, drink, and play.
At least following Mu Jianian would keep Luo Luo on the right path and away from shady dealings.
Jiang Wanwan had always found Luo Luo’s previous friends unreliable, worrying about them countless times.
Jiang Wanwan secretly rolled her eyes at Jiang Luoluo before warmly approaching Mu Jianian. “Brother Jianian, I have a problem I don’t understand. Can you help me? Let’s go to class!”
After the nanny brought in sliced fruit and drinks to the study, Madam Jiang left.
After Mu Jianian explained the problem and Jiang Wanwan practiced it himself, he glanced at Jiang Luoluo several times.
Why was his own brother being so well-behaved today? Not causing any trouble?
He suspected he was brewing something mischievous in his mind.
Jiang Luoluo held his pen, staring blankly at the empty exercises on his test paper. The ambiguous kiss from after school kept flashing through his mind.
That had been his first kiss.
And Mu Jianian had tricked him into giving it away.
How could Mu Jianian be so skilled?
Had he practiced before?
Jiang Wanwan watched Jiang Luoluo’s brow furrow as he remained silent, staring at the blank space on his test paper. He then glanced at the next problem he was supposed to be working on.
The voice carried a hint of suppressed mockery: “Luo Luo, Brother Jianian just went over a similar problem. You still don’t get it?”
Jiang Luoluo snapped back to reality and warily glanced at Jiang Wanwan.
An alarm blared in his mind:
‘Trouble brewing!’
‘The protagonist is about to start causing trouble!!’
Jiang Wanwan covered his mouth and chuckled at the other’s defensive posture. He leaned close to Mu Jianian, as if deliberately closing the distance, and whispered conspiratorially like two close friends sharing secrets.
“Brother Jianian, my brother is really so dumb…”
“I can understand the same problem after reading it once, but he still doesn’t get it even after you explain it…”
“Oh, right, he also often comes in last place on exams, which always makes Mom and Dad furious.”
“Mom and Dad were heartbroken for a long time. Dad often tells me how lucky the Jiang Family was to find me. Otherwise, if my brother were to inherit the Jiang Family business, it wouldn’t take long for him to ruin it.”
After saying all this, Jiang Wanwan eagerly watched Jiang Luoluo’s reaction.
The part about coming in last place on exams was true, but the rest was entirely fabricated.
But it didn’t matter. Jiang Luoluo’s relationship with his parents was strained, so he wouldn’t bother to verify the story.
In the past, whenever he’d said something like this, Jiang Luoluo would fly into a rage, smashing things and threatening to hit people, always earning disappointed looks from his parents.
He was eager to see what Jiang Luoluo would do this time.
Jiang Luoluo twirled the pen between his fingers, a hint of amusement in his eyes as he looked at Jiang Wanwan.
“Did Dad really say that?”
“If that’s the case, then I’ll bankrupt the Jiang Family before you inherit it!”
“After all, you, Jiang Wanwan, are so smart and capable. You’ll surely shine even without the Jiang Family’s support!”
“But I’m different…”
Jiang Luoluo propped up half his face, his soft, sweet voice echoing through the room. His smile was both radiant and arrogant.
“A useless little waste like me only needs Dad and Mom’s love…”
“Oh, right, you probably don’t know this yet…”
Jiang Luoluo smiled like an angel, two shallow dimples appearing on his cheeks. “The trust fund Dad and Mom set up for me is more than enough to keep me set for life. I could just lie around and do nothing!”
“So even if I bankrupt the Jiang Family, it won’t affect my lifestyle.”
“When that happens, I’ll bring Dad and Mom to live with me, and the three of us will live happily ever after. As for you, Wanwan, since you’re so capable, you should go out and make your own way in the world!”
“Good luck! If you fail, don’t expect me to give you a single bite to eat!”
Jiang Wanwan’s face flushed with anger, a flicker of resentful jealousy flashing in his eyes.
‘He knew it! Dad and Mom always favored him!’
‘Not being raised by them firsthand really made a difference in how they treated him!’
Jiang Luoluo’s eyes curved into crescents as he offered a friendly reminder:
“Wanwan, hurry up and do your homework! If you don’t work hard now, you’ll be sweeping the streets once I’ve bankrupted the Jiang Family!”
Jiang Wanwan’s anger intensified. His chest heaved like an enraged frog’s. He stood up abruptly. “Brother Jianian, I’m sorry, I need to go to the restroom.”
The moment the door to the small study closed, clear laughter echoed from within.
Jiang Luoluo lay sprawled on the table, his body shaking with laughter.
“He always calls me a spendthrift!”
“Serves him right! Serves him right for making me so angry!”
Mu Jianian chuckled and ruffled his hair. “Don’t worry, Luo Luo. Even if the Jiang Family really does pass the inheritance to him in the future, you don’t need to worry.”
His palm rested on the soft, fluffy hair, and Mu Jianian said solemnly, “As your future husband, I’ll definitely take care of you.”
Hearing this term, Jiang Luoluo’s ears flushed slightly.
He touched his ear, his watery eyes turning to Mu Jianian.
Mu Jianian continued stroking his head, leaning in to whisper in his ear.
“As long as Luo Luo is with me, you won’t have to do anything at all.”
His voice was slightly hoarse, carrying a hint of suggestion.
“Just lie down and relax every day.”
Jiang Luoluo blinked—
He thought Mu Jianian was being suggestive.
After two hours of tutoring, Madam Jiang warmly invited Mu Jianian to stay for dinner.
Mu Jianian declined several times, but her enthusiasm was overwhelming, so he finally agreed.
During dinner, Mr. Jiang returned home.
With three half-grown children at the table, he didn’t bother to say anything serious, simply making casual conversation.
When the conversation turned to internet finance, Jiang Luoluo naturally had only a superficial understanding. But that was his established persona, so no one would comment. Jiang Wanwan, though a good student, knew nothing about such complex and obscure topics.
Only Mu Jianian could truly engage Mr. Jiang in a meaningful discussion.
His insights were sharp and profound.
If it weren’t so late and inappropriate to ask him to stay overnight, Mr. Jiang would have kept him talking until midnight.
After dinner, Mr. Jiang personally escorted Mu Jianian to the door, watching his bicycle disappear down the street with endless admiration. He even considered bringing Madam Jiang back inside to try for another child just like him.
Mu Jianian’s bicycle wound through the alleyway and into his own neighborhood.
It was nearly ten o’clock at night, still warm, and people were sitting on the stone steps by the roadside, trying to cool off.
Grandma Wang, fanning her grandson with a palm-leaf fan, saw Mu Jianian return. “Niannian, you’re back?”
Mu Jianian greeted her.
“I heard some noise upstairs just now. Your father should be back too. Go home and see what’s going on.”
The old woman’s words were subtle, but Mu Jianian understood her meaning perfectly.
He picked up his backpack and strode purposefully toward his building.
T/N: I especially wanted to say this since Luoluo’s persona is immensely misunderstood by readers. Actually, I was also one of them before.
Luoluo is really smart. If not, he will not be a chosen protagonist by a system just for his looks to complete missions. But he adopts according to the likes of the ML. The chapter before is the most popular one. So many misunderstand that is his original persona!
Thank you for reading my ranting! There won’t be any again!
