TYMRHBDES Chapter 107

Chapter 107: The Cold, Crazy School Prince x The Spoiled, Delicate Little Brat 15

Three years later, on the campus of S University.

“Luo Luo, you’re going to the hospital again?”

Jiang Luoluo nodded, pulling on an extra jacket. “Yep~ I won’t be back tonight~ Just lock the door when you leave~”

Rain was falling outside.

The late autumn weather brought a biting chill with the wind and rain. Jiang Luoluo tightened his clothes and raised his umbrella.

Wind-blown raindrops drifted into the open car door. Jiang Luoluo stepped onto the Municipal Hospital’s tiled floor in his white sneakers, carrying a thermos of chicken soup as he headed for the elevator.

“Mom and Dad~ I’m here~”

Now a bit older, Jiang Luoluo was still breathtakingly beautiful. As soon as he entered the room, the doctors making their rounds couldn’t help but steal extra glances at him.

Mother Jiang took the chicken soup from his hand, pulling him close and chiding him gently, “You didn’t wear enough. Your hands are freezing.”

“Mr. Jiang’s condition is stable. All his current readings are within manageable limits. With a few more months of rest and less stress, his condition should improve.”

Hearing the doctor’s words, everyone in the room breathed a sigh of relief.

In his sophomore year, Father Jiang fell ill but stubbornly pushed himself. When he was finally discovered, he had collapsed at his desk.

Rushed to the hospital, doctors diagnosed him with kidney failure caused by diabetes and hypertension, and he was already showing signs of uremia.

It took a tremendous amount of manpower and resources to stabilize his condition.

In the past, Mother Jiang had been a full-time housewife, and with their two children still young and in school, Father Jiang had been the sole pillar of the Jiang Family’s business empire.

His prolonged hospitalization left the vast Jiang Family without anyone to support it.

By the time they came to their senses, much of the Jiang Family’s commercial holdings had already been swallowed up, and the family was gradually declining.

Many companies declared bankruptcy or were directly acquired. By now, they were left with only a few scattered businesses.

“Mom, hasn’t he arrived yet?”

Watching Father Jiang sip chicken soup, Jiang Luoluo pulled Mother Jiang aside and whispered.

Mother Jiang shook her head, her eyes filled with sorrow.

After Father Jiang’s hospitalization, Jiang Wanwan had used the pretext of helping the family manage the business to transfer a significant portion of their assets. Now, almost all of the most profitable companies are registered under Jiang Wanwan’s name.

At first, Jiang Wanwan would occasionally visit the hospital, feigning filial piety.

But as the opportunities for personal gain dwindled, he stopped showing up altogether.

He always claimed to be busy with company matters, and by today, it had been over two months since he’d last appeared.

Jiang Luoluo patted his mother’s shoulder. “It’s okay, Mom. I’m here.”

“Why don’t you go home and rest today? I’ll stay here at the hospital with Dad.”

Just then, a nurse came to call family members to pick up medication. Jiang Luoluo followed her out.

Not long after Jiang Luoluo left, the door swung open.

Jiang Wanwan strode in, impeccably dressed in a sharp suit, his wristwatch gleaming under the lights.

Though a year younger than Jiang Luoluo, his attire, demeanor, and calculated nature made him seem far more mature.

Glancing at the coat draped over the sofa, Jiang Wanwan sneered. “Oh, Luo Luo came too, huh?”

A false smile plastered on his face, he gestured for his assistant to bring in a mountain of health supplements.

“Unlike some people, I didn’t just bring Dad a little bit of food.”

Jiang Wanwan’s face contorted with disdain as he adopted the air of a wealthy executive, mocking Jiang Luoluo’s frugality.

That brother of hers was truly foolish, only concerned with fawning over Father Jiang and completely missing the opportunity to gain some advantage.

Look at that rain-soaked coat—it was last year’s spring collection from a certain brand.

Mother Jiang turned away, disgusted by Jiang Wanwan’s mercenary attitude, no longer wanting to see him.

Father Jiang looked up, his gaze sliding over Jiang Wanwan’s face before settling on Jiang Luoluo. His brow furrowed deeply.

Their Luo Luo had been protected too well over the years.

Treating money like dirt, he didn’t even know how to fight for his own interests.

Jiang Wanwan walked over. “Dad, you know how busy the company is. I’m the only one running everything from top to bottom. I’m spinning like a top every day, too busy even to eat. That’s why I haven’t been able to visit you lately. You’re not angry, are you?”

Unfortunately, his ruddy complexion betrayed the lie that he was too busy to eat.

Father Jiang didn’t contradict him, his tone flat. “If you’re too busy, let Luo Luo help you.”

“That’s impossible!”

Jiang Wanwan instinctively protested, sneering. “What could he possibly know?”

“Right, Dad, it’s fine, I’m not tired…”

A flattering expression spread across Jiang Wanwan’s face. “That tech company of ours has been doing really well lately, riding the wave of the market. You must have made a fortune!”

Father Jiang nodded. “Yes, we’ve made quite a bit.”

Jiang Wanwan’s eyes gleamed with greed. “Dad, even though we’ve entrusted it to professional managers, that Mr. Zhou is still an outsider. He’s not as reliable as one of our own…”

Father Jiang raised an eyebrow. “So, what are you suggesting?”

“So, Dad, why don’t you let me take over the company? I promise I’ll work hard to reclaim the Jiang Family’s lost business territory and bring glory to our name!”

Father Jiang’s voice was slow and deliberate. “Comet Technology… I have been considering handing it over to someone within the family.”

Jiang Wanwan’s eyes lit up with greed as he eagerly watched his father on the hospital bed.

Father Jiang continued slowly, “Let Luo Luo try taking over. He’s in his senior year and needs some experience.”

“What! Give it to him!”

Jiang Wanwan’s mouth twisted in fury. “That useless piece of trash! What does he even know how to do?!”

Jiang Luoluo entered with medicine, just in time to hear the tail end of the sentence.

He casually glanced at Jiang Wanwan, but the latter averted his gaze guiltily, feeling a familiar ache in his legs.

Over three years ago, not long after that incident, he had been dragged into an alley on his way to school and beaten up.

It had to have been Jiang Luoluo!

Jiang Wanwan’s face turned a sickly mix of green and white, making him look even more ghastly.

“Wanwan!” Mother Jiang, holding Jiang Luoluo’s arm, glared at her son. “How can you speak to your brother like that?!”

Even Father Jiang’s usually calm demeanor cracked. “Enough! He’s still your brother!”

Watching his parents defend Jiang Luoluo only fueled Jiang Wanwan’s jealousy. He glared at them venomously.

“You’re just as biased as ever!” he spat. “He’s the only son you care about! Am I not your son too?”

“You’ve protected him and coddled him all these years! Hasn’t he received enough love and attention? Why should—”

Jiang Wanwan pointed at Jiang Luoluo. “Why are you still competing with me?”

“What is he competing with you for?”

Mother Jiang wiped her tears. “Since you came back, hasn’t he been giving way to you enough?”

“Haven’t your father and I given you enough to compensate you?”

“You said you wanted to take over the family business, so we gave you all sorts of companies to manage. Did your brother ever say anything? Did he ever compete with you?”

“Wanwan, how many times did you visit your father in the hospital during his year-long stay? Did you ever run around paying bills, finding doctors, or asking about his condition? Do you really care about your father and me?”

Jiang Wanwan’s eyes darted away. “What’s the point of saying all this? Favoritism is favoritism. Stop making excuses! You’re still going to give him the most profitable company, aren’t you?”

“Enough.”

Father Jiang sat up in bed and pointed toward the door. “I’m tired. You should leave.”

Jiang Wanwan refused to give up. “Dad…”

“If you still want Comet Technology, you’d better shut up now,” Father Jiang said, unmoved.

Enraged, Jiang Wanwan retorted, “Fine! He’s your son, not me! Give it all to him if you want! When he squanders it all and you’re left begging for scraps, don’t come crying to me!”

With that, he slammed the door shut and stormed out.

Jiang Luoluo shook his head and offered Father Jiang a peeled orange. “Dad, have some orange. Don’t be angry.”

He pulled up a chair and sat by Father Jiang’s bedside. “Dad, you know I’m not good at managing a company…”

Father Jiang cut him off. “How will you know if you don’t try?”

Jiang Luoluo looked up, his voice soft and playful. “Dad, if I really squander it all, you and Mom will have to beg for scraps with me~”

He held Father Jiang’s sleeve and whined softly, “We can’t really go begging for scraps, can we~?”

Father Jiang patted his head, his voice firm. “It’s alright. Think of it as a learning experience.”

“Even if we lose everything, it’s fine. Dad has saved up enough money to ensure Luo Luo can live a comfortable life for the rest of his days…”

Even after sitting in the chair in Comet Technology’s conference room, Jiang Luoluo still felt out of place. He was like a little rabbit who had wandered into a den of foxes, completely mismatched. The shareholders looked friendly, but each one was digging a pit, waiting to laugh at his expense.

“Young General Manager Jiang, you’re a prodigy. Surely you can help us overcome our current crisis, right?”

In the President’s Office, Jiang Luoluo’s slender frame sat in the deep black, oversized presidential chair, his brow furrowed as he stared at the documents. He didn’t understand many of the technical terms and had to look them up online while asking his assistant for explanations.

“Our company has grown steadily in recent years, which has made us a target for companies of similar size. This crisis is their doing,” his assistant patiently reminded him. “Young General Manager, there’s a dinner tonight with industry tycoons. Some of them even knew your father. If they’re willing to lend a hand, our company’s crisis will be resolved in no time.”

Jiang Luoluo nodded. “Send me the profiles of the attendees.”

At seven o’clock that evening, Magnificent Villa.

“Luo Luo, you’ve grown up so fast! When you were a little boy, I used to hold you when you visited your father’s company!”

The potbellied man draped his arm over Jiang Luoluo’s chair, opening his mouth to reveal the stale smell of cigarettes. “Remember your uncle?”

Jiang Luoluo smiled and subtly shifted back. “Uncle Qian, you’re as dashing as ever.”

“Look at how scared the kid is!”

Someone else pulled up a chair and leaned in, their beady eyes fixed on Jiang Luoluo. “Luo Luo, your father and I were close friends back in our younger days! How’s Old Jiang doing these days? Is his health recovering well?”

As he spoke, he patted Jiang Luoluo’s arm.

Jiang Luoluo found these men strange. He’d never seen such a scene before.

Someone called out from the doorway, “President Mu has arrived.”

President Mu?

Jiang Luoluo silently reviewed the names on the guest list.

Why didn’t he remember?

The middle-aged men in the room rose one after another, ready to greet the newcomer.

Jiang Luoluo, still bewildered, followed suit.

Outside, he heard the sound of greetings. “President Mu, you’ve finally arrived! We’ve been waiting with bated breath!”

A pair of impeccably tailored trousers encased long legs as they strode into the room. Jiang Luoluo followed the gaze upward, then his eyes widened in sudden surprise.
