Chapter 119: The Cold, Crazy Campus Heartthrob x The Spoiled, Delicate Little Brat 27
Jiang Luoluo’s expression stiffened.
His innocent almond eyes blinked, and his voice was soft as he asked, “What?”
Mother Jiang gently stroked his hair, her heart aching for him. “There’s been talk in our circle that the young miss from a prominent family has been dating him for a long time and they’re about to get engaged.”
Jiang Luoluo opened his mouth, then turned his head to look out the window at Mu Jianian on the sofa.
He sat on the mahogany sofa, his profile sharp and refined.
His slender fingers held a purple clay teacup, a smile playing on his lips as he chatted with his father.
As if sensing Jiang Luoluo’s gaze, he turned his head slightly and smiled in his direction.
The smile was indulgent and gentle.
Jiang Luoluo hastily averted his eyes, his small face flushed with disbelief. He whispered, “Mom…”
“He never said he had a fiancée…”
“Mom… he wouldn’t lie to me…”
Footsteps echoed from the stairwell, followed by a burst of laughter.
“Brother Luoluo, you’re truly pitifully naive.”
Jiang Wanwan approached from the other side, his gaze fixed on Jiang Luoluo. He suppressed the jealousy simmering within him.
*How could his life be so blessed? Cherished and adored by everyone!*
Even after their father had humiliated Mu Jianian so deeply, Mu Jianian had still insisted on staying with Jiang Luoluo.
If it weren’t for Mu Jianian, Comet Technology would have crumbled under Jiang Luoluo’s leadership long ago!
*Why does he always get everything so effortlessly, while I struggle so much?!*
Fueled by his resentment, Jiang Wanwan’s voice dripped with venom. “He’s only back because he’s still bitter about being separated from you before. That’s why he’s come crawling back.”
“Did he offer you a high price?”
Jiang Wanwan’s voice was laced with sourness. “At that dinner party, among all those men, wasn’t Mu Jianian the one who promised you the most? That’s why you chose him, isn’t it?”
“Wanwan!”
Mother Jiang interrupted angrily. “How can you speak to your brother like that!”
“That’s exactly right!”
Jiang Wanwan retorted indignantly, “Mom, what can Jiang Luoluo even do? You know perfectly well how spoiled you’ve made him!”
“He has no ability to manage Comet Technology. He’s completely reliant on Mu Jianian!”
Jiang Luoluo listened to Jiang Wanwan’s words, completely bewildered.
What dinner party? What Comet Technology?
He couldn’t understand any of it.
Jiang Luoluo looked utterly lost.
After turning those few sentences over in his mind several times, Jiang Luoluo still couldn’t make sense of them. His thoughts were in a jumbled mess, so he said he wanted to rest and went upstairs alone.
Mother Jiang sighed and went to the kitchen to make him some juice.
Jiang Wanwan was left standing by the window, adjusting her clothes in the mirror. He glanced at the dazzling man in the living room.
HIS teeth ached with jealousy.
In the living room, Mu Jianian took a sip of tea, his peripheral vision catching the movement nearby. In the reflection of his water glass, a faint curve played at his thin lips.
In the bedroom, Jiang Luoluo lay on the bed, pursing his lips as he searched Comet Technology and Mu Jianian online.
As a rising star in the business world, Mu Jianian’s high looks and strong abilities had made him quite popular. There were even numerous posts about him on Weibo.
Jiang Luoluo scrolled through the posts one by one, and suddenly stumbled upon Mu Jianian’s fiancée.
The eldest daughter of the Gu Family, recently returned from studying abroad, holds a master’s degree in economics from an Ivy League university. She was strikingly beautiful and elegant, with a father from a powerful family and a mother who controlled Jiangnan’s largest light industry enterprise.
The photo showed the two of them attending the same charity event, standing side by side and looking perfectly matched.
Jiang Luoluo closed his phone, an inexplicable sense of dread washing over him.
He remembered nothing. When he woke up, Mu Jianian was the only person by his side.
Mu Jianian had told him he was his husband.
He had relied on Mu Jianian, trusted him completely. Mu Jianian had become his entire sense of security and support.
But just a few days later, he suddenly discovered that Mu Jianian’s fiancée was someone else entirely…
What was he supposed to do now?
Jiang Luoluo sat blankly on the edge of the bed, staring at the fluffy cloud pattern on the carpet.
Two knocks sounded from outside, and the bedroom door opened.
Jiang Luoluo looked up to meet Mu Jianian’s gaze.
Mu Jianian walked to his side and put his arm around his shoulders. “Bao Bao, what’s wrong?”
His Bao Bao seemed to be sulking, lowering his head and ignoring him.
Mu Jianian pulled him into his arms, leaned in, and kissed his cheek. His deep voice resonated in his ear, exceptionally seductive:
“What’s really bothering our Bao Bao?”
Jiang Luoluo turned his face away to avoid the kiss, his rosy lips slightly pouting. “Don’t kiss me.”
“Mu Jianian, you lied to me…”
“You’re not my husband. You have a fiancée…”
He struggled to get out of Mu Jianian’s embrace. “Don’t hold me. I don’t like other people’s men—”
“I’m not someone else’s man.”
Mu Jianian tightened his grip around his waist, his fingers slipping under his clothes and tracing the curve of his spine.
“Bao Bao, I’m your man.”
Jiang Luoluo’s face flushed crimson, and he found Mu Jianian’s behavior utterly excessive.
He was trying to have a serious conversation, and Mu Jianian was still flirting with him.
With his small hands braced against Mu Jianian’s chest, Jiang Luoluo pushed him away, his soft, rosy lips pressed together, his wet eyes fixed on Mu Jianian.
His delicate voice, like an accusation, whispered:
“I know everything…”
“I saw it too…”
“Mu Jianian, don’t try to deceive me again…”
He unlocked his phone screen and showed Mu Jianian the picture.
The pretty little face was etched with grievance, tears shimmering in his eyes.
His utterly vulnerable appearance made Mu Jianian’s heart skip a beat.
He couldn’t resist the urge to tease him, to torment him until he cried.
Mu Jianian’s Adam’s apple bobbed.
But there were more important matters at hand.
He glanced at the photo on his phone, his expression turning serious.
“Gu Xi? She’s not my fiancée.”
Mu Jianian took out his phone and made a video call.
Miss’s bright, radiant face appeared on the screen. She was sitting in her office, holding her phone at a distance. “What’s up, President Mu?”
She called him President Mu?
Jiang Luoluo blinked curiously and leaned closer.
On Miss’s end, she looked up and saw a perfectly beautiful little face magnified on the screen.
Two round, almond-shaped eyes stared at her with innocent curiosity.
Miss put down her pen and, seeing the intimate interaction between the two, immediately understood.
It seemed Mu Jianian had gotten his wish, and she no longer needed to play matchmaker.
She looked at Jiang Luoluo, her eyes sparkling. “Luo Luo, darling!”
Jiang Luoluo’s mouth dropped open, his face flushing crimson at being called “darling” by a girl out of the blue.
In the camera’s view, a long, slender hand pressed against the back of Jiang Luoluo’s neck. The young face vanished from the screen.
Mu Jianian, his possessiveness on full display, pulled Jiang Luoluo’s head into his embrace. Addressing the people on the screen, he said, “Miss Gu, it’s time for you to clarify the rumors about your engagement.”
Gu Xi replied with a smile, “Then let me first congratulate President Mu on winning his beauty!”
She sat back in her chair, poured herself a glass of water, and explained calmly, “President Mu and I were never engaged. The rumors about our engagement were just a smokescreen.”
“Young Master Jiang might know something about my family’s situation. Our clan is large and complex. While we appear glamorous on the surface, we have many half-siblings. After my parents divorced, I was exiled abroad by those people. I’ve returned this time to seize power.”
“President Mu Jianian and I are purely business partners, each leveraging the other’s influence.”
Jiang Luoluo listened intently, completely unaware that the hand lingering on his back had begun to wander again.
It traced the curve of his soft waist.
Jiang Luoluo shifted and slid off Mu Jianian’s lap.
Mu Jianian hung up the phone. “Is our Bao Bao still upset?”
He wrapped his arms around Jiang Luoluo’s waist, leaning forward so his cool breath brushed against Jiang Luoluo’s face.
He reached out and pressed his hand against Jiang Luoluo’s chest, through his clothes. “Are you not jealous anymore?”
Caught in his thoughts, Jiang Luoluo turned away, hiding his face from Mu Jianian. He mumbled, “I’m not jealous at all…”
Mu Jianian pulled him into his arms and kissed his earlobe.
The question came as naturally as breathing:
“Does our Bao Bao not want his husband to have a fiancée?”
“Then, how about Bao Bao marrying his husband?”
An hour later, Jiang Luoluo found himself, still dazed, being coaxed onto a plane by Mu Jianian.
He didn’t know what had come over him.
Perhaps it was Mu Jianian’s captivating voice, his tender endearments, or the way he cupped Jiang Luoluo’s face and kissed his lips with such deep affection and sincerity.
Before he knew it, Jiang Luoluo had completely surrendered.
Lost in a haze of kisses, he nodded in agreement.
Then, they rushed to the airport, just barely making their flight.
Same-sex marriage is legal in F Country.
Standing before the towering arched gate, Jiang Luoluo held the thin marriage certificate, its embossed logo gleaming in gold. He looked up at Mu Jianian.
For some reason, his heart suddenly began pounding wildly in his chest.
Mu Jianian tilted Jiang Luoluo’s chin upward, his breath growing closer as he pressed his lips against his.
Strong, slender arms wrapped around Jiang Luoluo’s slender waist, as if trying to meld him into his very bones.
The kiss was fierce and possessive, stealing away all his breath and attention.
It felt like finally holding in his hands something he had longed for for years.
Jiang Luoluo didn’t understand why Mu Jianian’s emotions had suddenly become so intense and passionate, but he was obedient. After being kissed, he obediently burrowed into Mu Jianian’s embrace.
He and Mu Jianian were married.
That meant he could stay by Mu Jianian’s side forever.
This world felt so strange, and all he wanted was to be with Mu Jianian forever.
On the fragrant, flower-strewn Champs-Élysées, Jiang Luoluo held up a strawberry-sprinkled ice cream cone and beamed at the camera.
His voice was sweet and coquettish: “Are you done yet, hubby~?”
Mu Jianian gave him an OK sign. Jiang Luoluo quickly trotted over to see, then tilted Mu Jianian’s phone, gripping his finger:
“No, no~”
“You have to take it like this~ This way, I’ll look taller~”
He then dashed back to the landmark, held up his strawberry ice cream cone, and continued to flash a sweet smile at the camera.
