TYMRHBDES Chapter 130

Chapter 130: The Cold, Crazy School Prince x Spoiled, Delicate Little Brat 38

This secluded, standalone villa was nestled in a tranquil area, surrounded by mountains and water.

The moon hung high in the sky, casting a hazy silver glow. A cold wind swept through, rustling the trees lining the road and making Jiang Luoluo’s eyes well up with tears.

He had been timid since childhood, easily frightened by even the simplest horror stories, which would keep him awake all night.

Now, walking alone on this dark, moonlit road, he was on the verge of tears.

His shoes were practically flying off his feet, his body was freezing, and he was shivering uncontrollably.

Yet, he didn’t stop.

Mu Jianian was more terrifying than walking alone at night.

After running for a long time, the villa’s lights had shrunk to the size of beans. Jiang Luoluo finally dared to stop, hiding behind a large tree to call Li Chuan.

His heart pounded in his chest as he stared at the name on the screen, silently praying, “Li Chuan! Please answer!”

The call connected on the first ring.

“Luo Luo?”

Jiang Luoluo’s voice trembled, whether from cold or fear, he couldn’t tell, and he choked out, “Chuan-ge! I ran away!”

“Brother Chuan! Brother Chuan! I’ve escaped!”

Li Chuan’s lazy tone immediately vanished. “Where are you?”

After getting Luo Luo’s location, a loud door slam echoed from Li Chuan’s end. “Luo Luo! Hide! I’m coming to get you right now!”

Jiang Luoluo’s teeth were chattering. “Li Chuan! I’m scared… It’s too dark outside! Mu Jianian could come looking for me at any moment!”

He repeated, “Li Chuan… I’m scared…”

The sound of a car engine starting filled the phone line, followed by Li Chuan’s voice: “Don’t be afraid, Luo Luo! I’m on my way!!”

A dog barked in the distance, making Jiang Luoluo flinch. He peeked his head out cautiously.

Li Chuan caught the sound too. His voice was urgent. “Mu Jianian got dogs?”

Jiang Luoluo hadn’t processed it yet. “Two Black Backs.”

As soon as he said it, he realized the implications.

His voice trembling, he asked, “Is… is he coming after me with dogs?”

Li Chuan cursed. “Luo Luo! Run!!”

Jiang Luoluo hung up the phone and continued running desperately forward.

The barking behind him grew louder and louder, making Jiang Luoluo’s legs tremble with fear. Yet he continued to run with reckless abandon.

He didn’t dare stop to pick up his shoe, even though it had fallen off. He ran through the woods, hoping to use the river to throw off the Black Back Dogs, just like in the TV dramas.

But fate had other plans. When he reached the river, he found it completely dry.

The sound of a car and the dogs’ barking grew closer. The car’s headlights, like two eyes, scanned the empty road.

Jiang Luoluo quickly crouched down and hid in a nearby thicket.

Rough branches scraped across his face, and some poked into his back. Still, he squeezed deeper into the bushes.

Just as he was hidden, the car roared past, quickly leaving him behind.

At the same moment, the two Black Back Dogs began barking furiously.

The car slammed on its brakes, the tires screeching against the pavement.

Then, a leg stepped out of the driver’s side.

Jiang Luoluo was so tense he could barely breathe. He curled into a ball, trying to make himself as small and inconspicuous as possible.

The barking, sniffing, and footsteps grew closer.

The Black Back Dog, held back by its leash, barked furiously and strained to pull Mu Jianian forward.

Mu Jianian, however, stood rooted to the spot, his gaze fixed on the section of beige home-wear pant leg peeking out from behind the bushes. His brow furrowed.

A flash of suppressed pain flickered in his eyes, his heart aching so intensely that his breath hitched.

Each tremor of the trembling pant leg behind the bushes felt like a dull knife sawing at his flesh.

‘He’s actually that afraid of me.’

‘So desperate to escape me.’

Behind the bushes, Jiang Luoluo twisted his fingers together nervously.

The icy ground threatened to freeze his toes solid, and the meticulously trimmed branches of the bushes pricked at his skin. The biting wind howled past, sending shivers racking through his body.

His hiding position was far from comfortable, and he nearly collapsed onto the ground.

Fortunately, the footsteps and the Black Back Dog’s sniffing faded into the distance, and Jiang Luoluo breathed a sigh of relief.

Still fearing that the other person hadn’t completely left, he remained crouched stiffly for a long time, until his legs finally gave way, and he knelt on the frozen ground.

After a moment—whether it was three or five minutes, he couldn’t tell—Jiang Luoluo slowly emerged from the bushes.

Suddenly, he found himself facing the man leaning against the boundless darkness of the moonlight.

The man had long limbs and a noble, solemn expression. Two Black Back Dogs with drooping ears lay at his feet.

His phoenix eyes were slightly lowered, fixed on Jiang Luoluo.

Jiang Luoluo let out a startled “Ah!” and sat down on the ground in a panic.

The two Black Back Dogs, oblivious to their role as the true culprits of the evening, wagged their tails happily at Jiang Luoluo, running around his legs and rubbing against him.

Mu Jianian strode closer, his long legs carrying him step by step.

The person slumped on the ground tilted up a snow-white face. His once rosy, plump lips had faded to a pale pink from the cold, and a misty layer of moisture clouded his large eyes.

His shoes had fallen off, and his fair feet were covered in mud, frozen and red, curled up as if shivering from the cold.

Beautiful yet fragile, he looked utterly pitiful.

“Why are you out here so late at night? Aren’t you afraid?” The man’s deep voice echoed in the stillness of the night, sounding particularly cold and detached.

The young beauty on the ground bit his lip, saying nothing.

The man didn’t force him. He took off his cashmere coat and draped it over Jiang Luoluo’s shoulders, then reached out to embrace him.

Jiang Luoluo raised his arms, pushing the man away.

“I’m not leaving…”

In the struggle, the cashmere coat fell to the ground.

A cold wind swept through, and Jiang Luoluo, still reeling from the brief warmth, shivered violently.

Mu Jianian frowned, picked up the coat, and wrapped it around Jiang Luoluo, including his head. Ignoring the boy’s resistance, he forcefully carried him into the car.

The car’s heater was blasting. Mu Jianian placed Jiang Luoluo in the passenger seat and looked at his pale, frozen face and the fearful gaze he cast at him. A lump formed in Mu Jianian’s throat.

He reached out to touch Jiang Luoluo’s face, but the boy tilted his head, dodging his hand.

Mu Jianian’s hand froze in mid-air.

Long, straight eyelashes cast vast shadows under the car’s overhead light, and a hint of disappointment flickered in his dark eyes.

His slender fingers curled slightly in the air. Mu Jianian deliberately ignored the awkward tension between them, as if deliberately avoiding the thought of Jiang Luoluo regaining his memories.

Mu Jianian worked hard to maintain the illusion of their loving marriage. He pulled Jiang Luoluo’s clothes up and said gently, “Why are you out so late? You should have worn more layers.”

The person in the passenger seat’s eyelashes fluttered a few times before settling into stillness. “Mu Jianian, I remember everything.”

As if he hadn’t heard her, Mu Jianian continued, “Are you missing Daddy and Mommy? How about we go back first thing tomorrow morning, Luo Luo?”

Jiang Luoluo clenched his small fists to steel his resolve, forcing himself to speak loudly. “Mu Jianian, I remember everything! You can’t fool me anymore!”

It felt as if a heavy weight had slammed into his chest. Mu Jianian instinctively reached out to stroke Jiang Luoluo’s head as he usually did.

Before he could touch him, Jiang Luoluo recoiled as if he were a venomous snake, his eyes wary.

His soft, childish voice cut through the air like ice, nearly freezing Mu Jianian to the core. “Don’t touch me, Mu Jianian.”

“I hate you touching me.”

A dense, aching pain filled his chest. Mu Jianian’s throat tightened, and his voice was barely a whisper, almost a plea.

“Do you remember… when we went to the hot springs…”

“You said you’d stay with me forever, that you’d never leave me…”

Jiang Luoluo lowered his eyes, avoiding Mu Jianian’s gaze. His slender, white fingers pressed against his thigh.

His voice was as soft as ever, yet each word felt like a sharp blade stabbing at Mu Jianian’s heart:

“Why do I say that, don’t you know, Mu Jianian?”

“Did you really think I said it willingly?”

“Enough—”

Mu Jianian cut him off, starting the car. “We’ll talk about this later.”

They drove in silence. When Mu Jianian carried him back to the bedroom, Jiang Luoluo remained silent.

Mu Jianian wanted to carry him to the bathroom to clean him up, but Jiang Luoluo resisted fiercely. “I won’t go.”

He lowered his long lashes, his lips, now regaining their color, parted. “I’m hungry. I want fruit.”

Hearing this, Mu Jianian set him down on the sofa and went downstairs alone.

As the sound of the door locking echoed through the house, Jiang Luoluo let out a mocking laugh.

He really thought too highly of himself.

The door was open, yet he hadn’t run away, had he?

While Mu Jianian was downstairs, Jiang Luoluo quietly rose and walked toward the inner room.

When Mu Jianian returned with a fruit platter, Jiang Luoluo was still sitting obediently on the sofa.

Mu Jianian casually closed the door, preparing to have a serious conversation.

Jiang Luoluo lowered his eyes, his hands tucked into his sleeves, the cuffs pressed against the sofa. He seemed lost in thought.

Mu Jianian speared a piece of fruit and held it to Jiang Luoluo’s lips. “Baby—”

“Don’t call me that!”

Mu Jianian froze.

It wasn’t Jiang Luoluo’s rebuke that stunned him, but the icy, sharp sensation in his chest.

He looked down to see a dagger pressed against his heart.

The jagged, menacing blade and the soft, tiny fist holding it created a stark contrast that felt almost surreal.

Mu Jianian stared for half a second, then chuckled softly.

His deep voice echoed through the room, deadly serious as he asked, “Baby wants to kill me?”

The person before him pressed his lips together, his other hand now covering the dagger’s hilt. His wet eyes were filled with fear and tension.

“Mu Jianian, don’t push me!”

The man looked at him, his eyes filled with affection. “You wouldn’t even hurt a little bug, Luo Luo. You wouldn’t kill anyone.”

“Don’t call me that!”

Jiang Luoluo’s voice was shrill, like a helpless cub’s, his red-rimmed eyes glaring at Mu Jianian.

The man’s words had sent his hands trembling. The dagger’s tip slid back and forth across Mu Jianian’s clothes, as if both refuting him and trying to convince himself.

“I dare! I dare!”

“Mu Jianian! You blackmailed me with photos you took! You forced me to use my body to please you! You stalked me! You restricted my freedom! All of that was supposed to be me paying off my debt to you!”

“But I don’t owe you anything anymore! So why are you still doing this to me?!”

“By what right! By what right did you make me lose my memory! By what right did you trick me into marrying you!! By what right did you walk into my home as if you belonged there!! By what right do you keep hurting me over and over again!!”

The sharp dagger tip tore through the fabric, and Jiang Luoluo instinctively tightened his grip on the handle in fear.

A large hand covered his, guiding the dagger toward Mu Jianian’s chest. His voice was gentle.

“Luo Luo, your aim is off.”

“You need to stab me here to kill me.”
