Jiang Luoluo had a nightmare. In it, a big dog kept chasing and biting him, refusing to let go no matter how he tried to shake it off.
His body ached all over as if he’d been run over by a big truck.
Grumbling in his dream, he squirmed and curled up in a warm embrace.
Asleep in the guest room, the groom Fu Tingchuan felt his limbs go stiff. Watching the person squirming into his arms, he didn’t dare move a muscle.
He had no idea why he’d suddenly appeared in this room…
And…
And why he was holding Jiang Luoluo?
Did I get interested in sex, sleepwalk here in the middle of the night, and climb into Jiang Luoluo’s bed?
Sunlight filtered through the curtain onto the floor, illuminating scattered family planning supplies 1 It was mentioned as sex toys in the text thrown on the ground.
He didn’t even know how to control himself and used so much!
Such intimacy…
Fu Tingchuan’s hand brushed against Jiang Luoluo’s warm waistline. His face burned all the way down to his neck in an instant, searing with heat.
Jiang Luoluo turned over again, clearly feeling a bit warm. He kicked off half his quilt, leaving him completely exposed to Fu Tingchuan’s gaze.
Fu Tingchuan swallowed hard, the hot breath he exhaled feeling like it could burn him up from the inside out.
Turning away, Fu Tingchuan, eyes wide with shock and not knowing where to look, first pulled the quilt over Jiang Luoluo, covering him up from head to toe.
Just as he settled down again, his partner followed suit, clinging to him like an octopus and kicking the quilt away in the process.
Fu Tingchuan patiently pulled the quilt back over them. As soon as it reached Jiang Luoluo’s chest, the other party squinted his eyes and woke up.
His voice, still drowsy and soft, was incredibly sweet: “Husband…”
Trying to remain calm, Fu Tingchuan responded with a simple “mm-hmm” and turned to tuck the quilt around him.
But Jiang Luoluo recoiled like a rabbit burned by a flame, pulling back and creating distance between them. He sounded hurt, “It hurts.”
“Where does it hurt?” Fu Tingchuan asked without thinking.
The moment he asked, he regretted it, realizing the implications.
Where else would it hurt?!
He saw Jiang Luoluo pause his eye-rubbing, staring at him for a brief moment with wide, innocent eyes.
Then, his lips quivered, becoming even more pitiful: “It hurts everywhere…”
“Fu Tingchuan…” he called, timidly, almost hesitantly approaching, “I’m feeling a bit unwell. I want you to hold me…”
Fu Tingchuan extended his arm.
Jiang Luoluo scooted closer and continued, “You can’t… you can’t treat me like that anymore…”
Seeing his pale face, Fu Tingchuan felt his heart ache. He pulled Jiang Luoluo into a hug and gently stroked his small cheek. His voice was steady as he said, “I won’t treat you like that again.”
He must have terrified his little wife, Fu Tingchuan realized with a frown. How could he not remember a single thing?
Jiang Luoluo curled up in his arms, feeling deeply wronged. “You’re not good to me at all… I don’t feel safe…”
Jiang Luoluo’s eyes brimmed with tears as he thought, I told you I didn’t want that… you just wouldn’t listen…
Although he knew that Fu Tingchuan had been replaced, there were two more personalities. In the end, they were both the same. We have the same body, and these evils were all caused by Fu Tingchuan.
Fu Tingchuan patted his back softly. Even though he couldn’t remember the specifics, he knew he had done wrong. “I’m sorry.”
Jiang Luoluo lifted his head, his eyes teary and pleading. “I will never forgive you easily…”
The person in his arms had a gentle, trembling voice, eyes welling with tears. It seemed a blink away from an overflowing flood.
Fu Tingchuan’s heart melted, and he couldn’t resist the urge to kiss those eyes.
But he was afraid of startling Jiang Luoluo again.
Jiang Luoluo burrowed his head into Fu Tingchuan’s chest and mumbled, “I feel so terrible… Sometimes cold… sometimes hot…”
Fu Tingchuan frowned, feeling his forehead, and his expression instantly changed.
“How can he be so hot?”
When the private doctor left the villa, Jiang Luoluo was lying in Fu Tingchuan’s arms, drinking medicine.
“It’s so bitter…” His pale little face screwed up. Frustrated, he buried his head in Fu Tingchuan’s chest, refusing to drink anymore.
“How can you get better if you don’t take your medicine?” Fu Tingchuan stroked his head, trying to coax him. “The doctor said if you finish this, you’ll feel better soon. Our Luoluo won’t be cold one moment and hot the next.”
Jiang Luoluo’s fingers touched the cup, pulling it a bit closer. As soon as he smelled it, he screwed up his face again. “But it is too bitter…”
“It’s all your fault…”
The little boy in his arms was like a wilted flower, with no energy. “If you had cleaned me properly, I wouldn’t have gotten sick…”
Fu Tingchuan sighed. “I didn’t know…”
He gently stroked Jiang Luoluo’s hair, his heart overflowing with tenderness. “It won’t be like this anymore,” he promised.
Jiang Luoluo knew he couldn’t blame Fu Tingchuan. But illness had left him vulnerable, and he felt wronged. This Fu Tingchuan was always so good to him, ready to soothe him whenever he needed. It was only natural that Jiang Luoluo would become somewhat spoiled.
“How about this—every sip you take, I’ll take one too,” Fu Tingchuan coaxed softly as if comforting a sulky little wife. “Will you feel better knowing I’m sharing this bitter taste with you?”
At these words, Jiang Luoluo’s eyelashes quivered. He opened his teary eyes and tilted his small head to gaze up at Fu Tingchuan. His pale pink lips were tinged with a hint of medicinal residue, slightly parted as if in shock, yet also seeking confirmation in a puzzled manner.
Fu Tingchuan repeated warmly, “If I drink with you, won’t it make it less bitter?”
Something pricked at Fu Tingchuan’s heart, a mixture of numbness and ache, making it swell with emotion. Jiang Luoluo lowered his gaze, feeling a bittersweet guilt. In truth, he had never been good to this Fu Tingchuan. When Fu Tingchuan’s personality first awakened, Jiang Luoluo’s behavior towards him could only be described as outright cruel.
In the past, he’d made Fu Tingchuan wipe his feet, wear a laughingstock hat, and even push him to work just to spend money…
Yet, this same person would pick Jiang Luoluo up in the rain, protect him in his arms, tilt the umbrella to keep him dry, and now, patiently comfort him as if nothing else mattered.
Jiang Luoluo had never been in a real relationship before. But with Fu Tingchuan’s gentle gaze on him, holding him close and soothing him, he suddenly felt…
A hint of what he’d always dreamed romantic love would feel like…
His heart pounded like a little deer was bouncing around inside his chest.
“Translating this much fluff has left me questioning if I should bill Fu Tingchuan for emotional labor. If you enjoyed the drama and the dog food (force-fed romance), why not toss a coin to your translator on Ko-fi for more updates?”
Thank you for the chapter. This has been fun to read.
This is one of my favorites too! 💕
You’ve updated! I’m excited to see the rest of this arc.
I’m glad I didn’t put away this novel because of mid ratings. So far it’s been really entertaining, and I like our mc.
