TYMRHBDES Chapter 4

Jiang Luoluo lay on the sofa, listening to the robotic voice in his mind:

[+2 Favorability points]

He rested his chin in his hand and looked in the direction of the bathroom. “This personality of Fu Tingchuan is so easy to please!”

From this morning until now, he had only said a few nice words. He hadn’t done anything else…

Oh, and he took a nap.

His affection points were already at 20.1

Jiang Luoluo nodded in agreement and sighed with relief. “Finally, I can sleep soundly tonight.”

The shower was taking a bit longer than usual. Jiang Luoluo had used the time to put on a face mask, care for his skin, and even change his clothes.

He paced by the bathroom door. “Do you think he’ll be out soon? Should I knock and remind him?”

“Since he hasn’t eaten lunch yet, I’m starving.”

The system didn’t answer, but knocking came from inside the bathroom instead.

Jiang Luoluo rushed to block the doorway. “Fu Tingchuan~”

It was as if Fu had been waiting for him for a long time.

This thought crossed Jiang Luoluo’s mind. A hint of a smile flickered across Fu Tingchuan’s usually gloomy lips, but it quickly vanished when he remembered what he was about to say.

Jiang Luoluo heard Fu Tingchuan’s voice from behind the door, “I don’t have any clothes.”

“I’ll grab some for you,” Jiang Luoluo turned to leave.

“I won’t wear another man’s clothes,” Fu Tingchuan’s voice sounded muffled from inside.

Another man’s clothes?

Jiang Luoluo realized his mistake and quickly made up a story: “It’s not another man’s clothes. I got these for you. I asked a tailor to make them just for you a few days ago. They should fit perfectly.”

Fu Tingchuan gave a soft sound of acknowledgment, which was good enough for Jiang Luoluo.

The clothes were indeed cut just for Fu Tingchuan.

As Fu Tingchuan looked at himself in the mirror, his eyebrows furrowed. “Why do I have to wear this?”

Seeing Fu Tingchuan’s face and new getup, he looked just like a wealthy tycoon. Jiang Luoluo inexplicably felt a dull pain in his waist. He helped straighten Fu Tingchuan’s shirt collar. “Because you’re going to the company this afternoon.”

Jiang Luoluo felt it was necessary to teach this unmotivated Fu Tingchuan a lesson.

After all, as an attacker, one needs to have good attacker qualities.

Earning money was essential too—how else was he supposed to support his wife?

No one worried about how long they’d be in this world. If it took too long to break through, and the tycoon Fu Tingchuan wasted all his money, Jiang Luoluo might end up with a broken Fu Tingchuan.  He is not going to drink the northwest wind with this personality of Fu Tingchuan. That won’t work.

And that wasn’t happening.

The harsh northwest wind would wrinkle his tender skin, dry out his voice as clear as a skylark’s song, and turn Jiang Luoluo, with his dewy freshness, into a dry, withered Jiang Gege!

Not!

“Don’t you want to go to work?” Jiang Luoluo looked up at him, his red lips slightly pouting. “My husband’s so capable—how can he stay stuck at home? He needs to spread his wings and build his career in the big wide world.”

“I believe in you. You’ll succeed,” Fu Tingchuan had a complicated mood, feeling torn.

How could he not want to work? As a grown man, did he want to be laughed at as a useless freeloader?

The butler’s harsh face still lingered in his mind. Fu Tingchuan pursed his lips.

At first, he planned to climb the ladder by using the Jiang family’s power. He’d thought about emptying the Jiang family’s wealth, making it his own, and then taunting the entire Jiang clan. In the end, he’d stand before Jiang Luoluo, unmoved no matter how much the helpless man cried or begged. Finally, he’d kick Jiang Luoluo aside and stride away with a sneer.

But…

Fu Tingchuan’s thoughts swirled around and around. In the end, he grasped Jiang Luoluo’s hand. “I’ll treat you right.”

***

As they descended towards the dining hall, the housekeeper greeted them cordially. Then he called out to Jiang Luoluo, halting his steps.

“Young Master Jiang, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you.”

Jiang Luoluo tugged at Fu Tingchuan’s sleeve. “Go ahead without me. I’ll catch up soon.”

Fu Tingchuan shot a dark look at the housekeeper, grumbling a curt acknowledgment.

Just as he suspected – this old bastard isn’t to be trusted.

He couldn’t help but wonder if the housekeeper had been the one urging Jiang Luoluo to mistreat him in the past.

We’ll have to find an opportunity to get rid of him.

The housekeeper felt a chill creep up his spine as he watched Fu Tingchuan depart. Lowering his voice conspiratorially, he turned to Jiang Luoluo.

“Young Master Jiang, did you and the young master have a falling out? I couldn’t help but notice he seemed off today.”

“This morning, I found him standing in the blazing sun wearing some old clothes he’d dug up from who knows where. When I asked about it, he only got more riled up!”

“I was so startled, I could barely speak— Fortunately, you called him in later. ”

The housekeeper rubbed his hands, looking slightly troubled. “You spend more time with him than I do. If you also think something’s off, I’ll call the old house and have the master and mistress come over. We can take the young master for a check-up.”

Jiang Luoluo listened carefully, but the smile on his face grew even bigger. “You’ve misunderstood. There’s nothing wrong at all.”

“Fu Tingchuan has recently gotten into role-playing,” Jiang Luoluo explained. “He says it’s about experiencing life more fully, or something like that. It’s pretty popular among young people.”

“He’s been playing the role of a popular son-in-law from a best-selling novel lately. He enjoys this fantasy of being a cool, underdog hero who turns things around. Don’t worry about it; just let him be. He’ll be back to normal in a few days.”

The housekeeper nodded, understanding. “The young master had a tough time too. Growing up without playmates, he finally found his childhood spirit again when he met the little young master Jiang.”

He let out a long sigh. “That settles it, then.”

Jiang Luoluo nodded along, his small head bobbing. “Of course. It’s only natural.”

When they reached the dining room, Fu Tingchuan was indeed waiting for him. Jiang Luoluo obediently walked over to stand by his side.

Fu Tingchuan, at 190cm tall, was significantly taller than most people. But sitting down, he was surprisingly close in height to the standing Jiang Luoluo.

Jiang Luoluo stared at him for a moment, then suddenly reached out with both hands to cradle Fu Tingchuan’s face. Slowly, he leaned in closer.

His sweet breath was right on Fu Tingchuan’s face, carrying a unique fragrance that filled his nostrils.

His slightly parted red lips seemed to call out for a closer look.

In an instant, Fu Tingchuan’s eyes, as dark as ink, went wide. He stopped breathing. His hands, resting on the table, rose, ready to wrap around the other’s slim waist.

The other leaned in, pressing their foreheads together.

Jiang Luoluo’s soft eyelashes flickered rapidly, like tiny fans, and his clear eyes sparkled. With each flicker, Fu Tingchuan’s heartbeat quickened further.

After two breaths, Jiang Luoluo moved away from his forehead and instructed a nearby maid, “The young master almost suffering from heatstroke. Have the kitchen prepare some refreshing juice and send it over immediately.”

Feeling like a stranded fish tossed back into the water, Fu Tingchuan discreetly took a deep breath without leaving a trace.

He thought I was… Of course, why would he want to kiss me?

He might even treat his adulterer more warmly than this.

The sensual scene from the bathtub flashed through his mind, with the crescent-shaped collarbone full of another man’s arrogance.

Fu Tingchuan lowered his gaze, his bottomless eyes filled with turbulent, dangerous currents.

How truly enviable.

His right hand, with its well-defined knuckles, gripped the golden-decorated knife handle. With a slight exertion of force, the silvery-white blade sliced sharply into the steak, allowing the red juices to flow out along its edge.

The silver-white blade reflected the man’s slightly narrowed eyes.

His lips curved into a small smile.

There seems to be a solution.
