Chapter 93: The Cold, Crazy School Idol x The Spoiled, Delicate Little Brat (1)
Mu Jianian glanced at him again, but this time his gaze was colder. He quickly turned and walked toward the bike shed.
Jiang Luoluo was completely baffled.
He’d offered a kind reminder, yet not only did the other person not appreciate it, he seemed to dislike Jiang Luoluo even more.
[Mu Jianian’s pants are wet. Did you expect him to strip in front of you and wring them out?]
The System silently scoffed: [Have you forgotten you’re supposed to be a perverted stalker, peeper, and clothes thief?]
[He’s probably still trying to avoid you!]
Staring at Mu Jianian’s retreating figure, Jiang Luoluo nodded thoughtfully. “Oh, right~”
“Luoluo! You never disappoint!”
Someone clapped him on the shoulder. Li Chuan had appeared out of nowhere, his arm draped over Jiang Luoluo’s shoulder as they both watched Mu Jianian’s back.
Li Chuan clicked his tongue admiringly. “No wonder you insisted on breaking that faucet during PE class this morning. You were planning this all along!”
Jiang Luoluo: “???”
Li Chuan continued, “Serves him right! Who told him to keep rejecting you and acting all high and mighty!”
Li Chuan glared in Mu Jianian’s direction, deliberately shouting loud enough for him to hear:
“Real men should go for men!”
“What’s wrong with charging head-on?!”
“Our Luoluo just loves to force a man to stay locked down!”
Jiang Luoluo’s head was throbbing from Li Chuan’s shouting.
He quickly covered Li Chuan’s mouth, signaling him to lower his voice.
*Please, just shut up and stop talking!*
This friend of his was simply too outrageous!
Li Chuan nodded frantically, urging Jiang Luoluo to release him. He then made a gesture of zipping his mouth shut.
Jiang Luoluo let go of him, his expression hesitant. “Chuan’er, you don’t like men too, do you?”
Li Chuan nearly jumped out of his skin at the question. “Who likes men?! I like busty older women!!”
“Luoluo! You can’t just say things like that!!!”
Assuming Jiang Luoluo was discouraged by Mu Jianian’s cold demeanor earlier, he put his arm around Jiang Luoluo’s shoulder and said boisterously, “Luoluo, does it have to be him?”
“We’ve been at this for so long, and Mu Jianian is still as dense as a block of wood. Is he even a man?”
“Why don’t you just give up? If you like men, Brother Chuan will find you someone taller and handsomer. We don’t need him.”
“What’s so great about him? He’s just a bit taller, a bit handsomer, and a bit smarter. There are plenty of guys like that out there. I’ll find you a few more!”
“Besides, there are tons of guys at our school who like you. Why are you hanging yourself on this one tree?”
Jiang Luoluo pulled his arm away. “No way. I like conquering the difficult ones.”
With that, he waved at Li Chuan. “School’s out! Let’s go, Brother Chuan!”
Jiang Luoluo called the driver waiting outside and strolled slowly toward the school gate with his backpack on.
His eyes lit up when he spotted a figure pushing a bicycle emerge from the campus. He quickened his pace, his short legs carrying him forward.
“Mu Jianian!”
His voice was clear and enthusiastic, like a miniature sun.
Mu Jianian curled his lip coldly, ignoring him.
He used to stalk me in secret, and now he’s being blatant about it.
Jiang Luoluo was a troublemaker through and through. What scheme was he plotting this time?
Unfazed by Mu Jianian’s coldness, Jiang Luoluo slung his backpack strap over his shoulder and walked beside him.
“Mu Jianian, your pants dried so quickly?”
Mu Jianian glanced at him—
*So young, yet already full of mischief and perverted thoughts.*
*We’re both guys. Why is he staring at my crotch like that?*
“Mu Jianian, I really didn’t mean it earlier! I didn’t expect the water from the faucet to splash on you!”
Jiang Luoluo explained with unusual sincerity, his round eyes clear and innocent, blinking earnestly as he looked at Mu Jianian. His gaze seemed exceptionally pure.
Mu Jianian stopped his bike and turned to face him. His cold phoenix eyes held a hint of mockery. “Young Master Jiang, I was in the gym class this morning too.”
“Unfortunately, I saw you break the faucet,” Jiang Luoluo stammered, his face flushing crimson.
He let out a small “Oh” and unconsciously curled his fingers around his backpack strap.
“I’m sorry, Mu Jianian…”
“I was wrong…”
Hearing this, Mu Jianian’s expression became subtly complex.
He and Jiang Luoluo had been classmates for quite some time.
Though Jiang Luoluo possessed a handsome face and appeared soft and gentle, he was actually arrogant and spoiled.
If he wanted something, he had to have it.
As if everything in the world should be his simply because he desired it.
Because Mu Jianian had consistently rejected his advances, Jiang Luoluo had repeatedly sought opportunities to ostracize him and isolate him from others.
Mu Jianian had suffered no small amount of hardship at Jiang Luoluo’s hands.
So why was he suddenly apologizing out of the blue?
Mu Jianian couldn’t help but suspect some hidden motive.
He glanced at Jiang Luoluo, pushed his bicycle out of the school gate, and then swung his long legs over the seat and rode off.
Behind him, hurried footsteps echoed.
Jiang Luoluo, burdened by a heavy backpack crammed with books, bounced up and down with each step, pulling at his shoulders.
“Mu Jianian! Don’t go!”
“Your tire’s flat! You’ll get into an accident!”
Mu Jianian, riding his bicycle, also sensed something was wrong.
Half a minute later, he stared at the deflated rear tire and frowned at Jiang Luoluo. “Did you do this again?”
Jiang Luoluo waved his hands frantically. “No, no, no! Not me!”
“I just happened to see it and wanted to let you know!”
He pointed guiltily at a repair stall not far ahead. “There’s a repair stand over there. Why don’t you let the old man take a look?”
With the bicycle propped up on a repair stand, the old man submerged the tire in a water basin and pointed at the spot where bubbles were gurgling up.
“See? It’s punctured.”
Mu Jianian squatted down. “How long will it take to fix? Is it quick?”
He had arranged to tutor someone, and today was his first day at their home. He was already running late.
“Don’t worry, it’ll be done in ten minutes.”
The old man brought over a stool and his repair tools.
Mu Jianian furrowed his brow slightly. “How did this happen?”
Jiang Luoluo, tired of standing, also squatted down beside the water basin, propping his small face in his hands and repeating like a parrot:
“Yeah, Grandpa~ How did this happen~”
As soon as the words left his mouth, a compass slipped from his pocket with a “clatter.”
It fell into the water basin, making a sharp sound.
The old man glanced at it and chuckled, pointing at the compass:
“That’s what did the poking!”
Jiang Luoluo: “…”
Oblivious to anything amiss, the old man continued patching a bicycle tire at his repair stall, while a few meters away, under the shade of a tree, two young men stood facing each other.
“Young Master Jiang, was it fun?”
Mu Jianian’s voice grew colder as he looked at the boy before him, who hung his head.
“Is it really so amusing to toy with people?”
“Do you think I should have played along with your childish prank?”
“You have everything you need—food, clothing, and shelter. You spend your days at school eating, drinking, and having fun, never taking your studies seriously. But not everyone is like you.”
Mu Jianian lowered his eyelashes, his tone laced with sarcasm.
“Young Master Jiang, people like me have to hustle for our livelihoods and tuition. Every moment of my free time is precious, and I have to use it wisely.”
“I have no time for your clumsy little games.”
After hearing those words, the boy who had been hanging his head slowly raised his face. His round eyes were veiled with a hazy mist, and his water-red lips were pressed tightly together.
Like a wounded animal, he looked up at Mu Jianian with a pitiful expression.
He even sniffled, his voice soft. “Mu Jianian…”
“I’ll never do this again…”
“Please don’t ignore me…”
The nasal tone sounded like he was pouting.
A strange feeling stirred in Mu Jianian’s chest. He averted his gaze, refusing to look at Jiang Luoluo’s face.
“Young Master Jiang, I’m honored by your affection, but I don’t like men. You should save your efforts.”
His hem was tugged. The slightly shorter boy stepped forward and clutched his coat.
As if afraid of angering him, Jiang Luoluo released his coat after only a second.
“Mu Jianian…”
Up close, the air seemed to carry the boy’s sweet fragrance.
Mu Jianian’s pupils constricted as a delicate face suddenly loomed before him.
His eyelashes were long and curled, his misty eyes shimmering with moisture, and he called Mu Jianian’s name in a soft, pleading voice.
His heart skipped a beat, as if suddenly emptied.
“Young man, the tire’s fixed!”
The old man’s voice snapped Mu Jianian back to reality. He took a sharp step back.
“Stop following me!”
After paying, Mu Jianian opened his map and navigated to the family where he was tutoring that day.
The distance wasn’t far. The default female voice on the map announced the directions. Mu Jianian turned his bike around and suddenly found himself face-to-face with Jiang Luoluo just a few meters away.
Jiang Luoluo pursed his lips, his tender, bun-like face etched with disappointment as he stared at Mu Jianian.
After a few seconds of this silent gaze, he lowered his head, his hands clutching his backpack straps, and slowly continued walking.
He actually looked a little pitiful.
Realizing what he was thinking, Mu Jianian’s eyes darkened.
He must be crazy to feel sorry for Jiang Luoluo, the one who had caused all this.
Don’t let his current act fool you. Tomorrow, he might be plotting revenge.
Mu Jianian shook off his thoughts, pushed off with his long legs, and sped away on his bike.
A few minutes later, Mu Jianian stopped at a bookstore to buy something. As he emerged, he encountered Jiang Luoluo again.
Jiang Luoluo was still walking at his unhurried pace.
His small hands clutched his backpack straps. The brilliant sunset cast a radiant glow behind him, making his fair arms almost blindingly white. His oversized T-shirt swayed loosely as he walked.
When he saw Mu Jianian, Jiang Luoluo seemed to want to greet him, but upon meeting Mu Jianian’s cold gaze, his outstretched hand froze mid-air. He continued walking.
Mu Jianian frowned slightly.
“Jiang Luoluo, why are you following me again?”
Why wasn’t he going home after school? What was he doing wandering around outside?
Stopped by Mu Jianian’s words, Jiang Luoluo paused, his wet eyes fixed on him. He pursed his lips.
Her voice was small and slightly aggrieved.
“Who said I was following you?”
“Can’t I go home?”
