RRMGEH Chapter 12

That Night, Zhou Li Couldn’t Sleep

Zhou Li and Gu Changheng spent nearly half a month in Tibet, and Gu Changheng’s mood improved a lot. They flew back to Gu City.

They returned to the simple little house that Zhou Li bought.

Zhou Li began cooking as usual.

Perhaps it was the trip that lifted Gu Changheng’s spirits, and Zhou Li’s mood also brightened. He cooked dinner in the kitchen wearing an apron.

Gu Changheng stood at the door and watched Zhou Li cook. He walked in and reached into the sink to help wash vegetables.

Zhou Li looked over and quickly said, “How can you do this? Go back inside, dinner will be ready soon.”

Seeing Zhou Li’s flustered look, Gu Changheng found it amusing. It seemed Zhou Li still thought of him as the arrogant young master from the junior high school. What he didn’t realize was that Gu Changheng had suffered a lot with Zhao Yunfeng, and cooking was something he was skilled at by now.

“You’ve been cooking for me for so long, so why can’t I make a meal for you?” Gu Changheng proposed.

Zhou Li’s face turned red. He knew he shouldn’t let Gu Changheng cook, but he really wanted to taste his cooking. He was so eager that he stammered a little and said, “Okay, okay, just for tonight. I’ll let you show off your skills. After this, I’ll be the one cooking.”

Gu Changheng smiled and nodded.

“Good.”

Although he said Gu Changheng would cook, Zhou Li didn’t leave the kitchen but continued to help out.

When a colorful and delicious dinner was finally prepared, Zhou Li looked at Gu Changheng in a new light. During dinner, he praised the food continuously, eating until his stomach was full.

Gu Changheng couldn’t remember the last time he received praise from someone else, and a smile appeared on his lips.

Gu Changheng also tidied up the dining table and washed the dishes.

Zhou Li watched Gu Changheng skillfully wash the dishes. Even if he was slow to realize, he still sensed something. His smile gradually faded as he asked, “Young Master Gu, are you planning to leave?”

Gu Changheng replied softly, “I really appreciate your care these days, but I have decided to leave. I have spent a lot of your money, right?”

He added, “I can write you an IOU. When I have money, I’ll pay you back.” After all, they were not related or friends. He felt guilty for bothering Zhou Li for so long. He couldn’t stay in the house any longer.

Although Zhou Li struggled to make money and was usually frugal, if it was Gu Changheng, even if the two of them went to Tibet and spent the money he saved last year, he would still be happy. “No, no need, it’s not that much.”

Was this dreamlike life really about to end?!

Feeling extremely reluctant, Zhou Li blurted out, “Where are you going?”

Gu Changheng placed the cleaned dishes in the cupboard and said, “I haven’t decided yet, but I won’t stay in Gu City. I want to go somewhere no one knows me, find a good job, and live the rest of my life.”

In Gu City, everyone knew about his relationship with Zhao Yunfeng.

Although Gu Changheng had seen through the scumbag Zhao Yunfeng and moved on from that relationship, he couldn’t shake off the memories of the crazy things he did for Zhao Yunfeng like severing ties with his family, which now felt like a joke.

He couldn’t stay in this city openly, so apart from leaving and going to a place where no one knew him, he had no other options.

That night, Zhou Li couldn’t fall asleep.

When Gu Changheng got up in the middle of the night, he saw Zhou Li smoking in the darkness.
