“Father…” Tonight, being met with Chen Guangren’s cold words and attitude, the usually delicate Chen Ling truly began to cry.

It’s challenging for one person to carry an unconscious person from the bed. Just as Chen Guangren was about to call his wife for help, Zhao Chen offered, “Let me help you.”

 

Chen Guangren wanted to refuse, thinking it wasn’t appropriate for men to have close contact, especially letting Silly Zhao… no, Zhao Chen, come close.

 

But Zhao Chen didn’t give him a chance to refuse. He reached out to carry Chen Jiu.

Chen Ling stomped her foot, wanting to curse, but felt two cold gazes upon her.

 

Turning, she saw Zhao Chen standing there, his eyes cold and deep in the dark night.

 

Chen Ling shivered, gritted her teeth, and muttered, “Idiot,” before being reluctantly pulled away by Lan Shi.

 

After leaving the thatched hut, Lan Shi deliberately kept a distance from Chen Guangren and whispered to her daughter, “Calm down.”

 

“But…” Chen Ling couldn’t calm down.

 

“You’re almost at the age to marry, yet you’re still so impetuous.”

 

Lan Shi sighed, lowering her voice further, “How have I always taught you? Think before you act. Silly Zhao said what he said, but who knows the truth? Even if those two didn’t do anything, will others believe it?”
