For a moment, Chen Jiu felt both admiration and fear towards Zhao Chen.

He admired Zhao Chen’s extensive knowledge but couldn’t help worrying that one day Zhao Chen might use these tactics against him.

“For now, that’s all. If you have any questions, you can always come into the space to ask me. I’ll sense when you’re here and won’t keep you waiting long.”

Zhao Chen noticed that Chen Jiu’s wariness towards him had deepened but didn’t mind. He gently reassured Chen Jiu that he could come to him anytime if needed.

He believed that with time, Chen Jiu would gradually come to trust him.

Chen Jiu nodded, unable to resist asking, “How do you know so much…”

He didn’t finish the phrase “schemes and tricks,” feeling it wasn’t quite right to say that.

Understanding his meaning, Zhao Chen calmly explained, “I’ve read many military strategy books and learned a lot from life and work.”

Chen Jiu was stunned.

He knew about military books, but what was the study of thick black theory?

Zhao Chen didn’t rush to explain, simply saying, “In my previous world, there were many such books. I’ll tell you more about them later. But for now, I need to tell you something.”

Chen Jiu’s heart skipped a beat.

What did this mean? Was Zhao Chen not the original Zhao Silly but someone from another place?

But how was that possible?

Yet it indeed seemed possible.

Zhao Chen had already decided to be honest the night before. Without hesitation, he said, “To tell you the truth, I’m not actually Zhao Silly. I’m a wandering soul from another world. I thought I was about to dissipate, but when I woke up, I found myself as Zhao Silly. Zhao Silly’s soul is nowhere to be found.”

Chen Jiu was shocked. Could such strange things happen in the world?

But considering how he had died and been reborn at nineteen, and seeing how different Zhao Chen’s personality was from Zhao Silly’s, knowing things Zhao Silly couldn’t possibly know, he thought perhaps nothing was impossible.

After his initial shock, he asked with difficulty, “Why are you telling me this?”

Zhao Chen’s situation was similar to his own. If it hadn’t happened to him, hearing such a story would sound like nonsense. How could such bizarre things happen in the world?

Only when it happens to you do you have to believe it.

Chen Jiu had planned to never tell anyone about his rebirth, fearing they would see him as a monster and burn him.

But how could Zhao Chen so easily tell him?

Chen Jiu was puzzled but couldn’t help being moved by Zhao Chen’s trust and honesty. He asked, “Aren’t you afraid I’ll tell someone else?”

Zhao Chen had thought Chen Jiu would be disbelieving or scared, surprised that he accepted the truth so easily. “You don’t find it strange?”

Chen Jiu was startled, then shook his head. “You’re very different from Zhao Silly, I…”

He paused and decided not to reveal his own story to Zhao Chen just yet, vaguely saying, “I’m not the same as before either.”

Zhao Chen sensed something but didn’t have enough information to be sure.

However, that wasn’t the main point. Chen Jiu wasn’t the type to be deceitful, and even if he kept things hidden, he wouldn’t harm anyone.

So Zhao Chen didn’t dwell on it and, seeing how Chen Jiu looked even paler than yesterday, frowned and asked, “Are you sick again? Have you taken your medicine?”

Chen Jiu was worried about how to respond if Zhao Chen probed further, but Zhao Chen quickly changed the topic.

Seeing the unhidden concern on Zhao Chen’s face, Chen Jiu felt warm inside and nodded, “I’ve taken it. I’m feeling better now. Thank you for your concern.”

“You’re welcome.” Zhao Chen said, observing his complexion closely, then asked, “If you don’t mind, could you let me check your pulse?”
