Once everything was ready, they moved together to the adjacent treatment room. After laying Serval down on the treatment bed, Kazusa administered the anaesthetic and then proceeded to suture the wound. He used absorbable sutures for the dermis layer and stitched the surface with six stitches. He took care to sew meticulously, aiming to minimise any scarring, thinking that if Serval worked as a high-end prostitute, his appearance would be a crucial asset.
After the stitching was done, Kazusa applied an antibiotic ointment to the wound, covered it with gauze, and the nurse wrapped a bandage over it.
“The absorbable sutures will dissolve naturally within two to three months. But the external stitches will need to be removed. Normally, we remove them one to two weeks after the procedure. But let’s assess the healing after one week. Until then, try to keep the wound as clean as possible. Avoid putting pressure on it or pulling it. Also, refrain from alcohol until the stitches are removed. Take care.”
“Thank you, doctor.”
As Serval tried to get up from the treatment bed immediately, Kazusa stopped him.
“The anaesthetic is still working. But once it wears off, you might start feeling unwell. Let’s monitor your condition for a little longer.”
“How long is ‘a little while’?”
“About thirty minutes.”
Kazusa told Serval this, then instructed the nurse, “Please stay with him. If anything happens while I’m away, contact me on the PHS.” With those words, Kazusa left the room and returned to the adjoining consultation room.
“…Alright.”
He didn’t sit in the office chair. Instead, he slid open the door and exited the consultation room. Walking down the barren hallway, Kazusa headed toward the lobby designated for nighttime emergency patients. The lobby, when he arrived, was almost empty, with only one night shift staff member stationed at the reception desk. He exchanged a brief nod with the staff member before scanning the area for the person he was looking for. That person was seated at the far end of a six-seater lobby chair, wearing a black long coat, legs crossed, and operating a tablet.
Kazusa judged him to be a man based on his build. Given the length of his legs, he was likely quite tall. As Kazusa approached, the side profile of the man became clearer.
A prominent forehead. Dark, defined eyebrows. Long lashes casting shadows over high cheekbones. A straight, high-bridged nose and full lips. A sharp, solid line from his chin downward.
“……”
Without realising it, Kazusa stopped in his tracks, mesmerised by the seemingly flawless features of the figure before him.
Sensing Kazusa’s gaze, the man tilted his head and looked over at him.
Seeing his face directly, Kazusa involuntarily gasped.
The man’s hair was a striking two-tone of jet black with shimmering golden highlights. His taut, tanned skin resembled perfectly tanned leather. His facial features had a blend of subtle sweetness and wildness, and the extraordinary depth of his facial structure hinted at a diverse genetic background.
He was stunningly beautiful. But unlike Serval’s beauty from earlier, this was a different kind of allure.
Like a ripe, tropical fruit, the man exuded an air of mature sensuality. His most captivating feature, though, were his eyes, which radiated an almost mystical glow.
As Kazusa stood frozen, captivated by the exotic beauty before him, the man rose from the chair. The long black coat suited his tall frame, amplifying the impact of his presence. Clad entirely in black—from his shirt to his pants and long coat—his graceful movements evoked the image of a black panther. Just standing there, his aura was so imposing it made those around him shrink.
Images of a ‘night king’ immediately flashed through Kazusa’s mind. The kind of man who could effortlessly entertain multiple beauties—two leaning on each arm, one striking a feline pose at his feet, and another wrapping her arms around his neck from behind the chair. It felt as though he could easily handle that level of attention.
He was like a majestic predator prowling the jungle at night.
His presence was the complete opposite of Kazusa’s own—small and skinny, often compared to a small animal.
(If I ran into him on the street, I wouldn’t even make eye contact. We’re from completely different worlds.)
(Frankly, I’m not good with this type…)
“…Doctor?”
Seeing the white coat, the man must have assumed Kazusa was a doctor and called out to him. The deep, velvety sound of his voice reverberated in Kazusa’s ears, sending a shiver down his spine.
(What was that?)
Kazusa furrowed his eyebrows slightly, puzzled by the sudden physical reaction. He clenched his core to regain control of his composure. Regardless of how intimidating he found this type, he couldn’t avoid this moment as a doctor. Steeling himself, Kazusa walked over to the man.
Stopping a step away, Kazusa once again took in the man’s breathtaking beauty. In that instant, he realised what made the man’s eyes appear so mysterious—the colour of his irises differed. His left eye was amber, while his right eye was ice blue. Heterochromia, as it’s commonly called. Though it’s a congenital condition, it’s extremely rare in humans, and this was Kazusa’s first time seeing it in person.
(…They’re beautiful…)
They were like two precious gems.
Though Kazusa knew it was impolite to stare, he couldn’t tear his eyes away from the man’s mesmerising gaze. Before long, his heartbeat became erratic, his pulse thumping irregularly. His body temperature gradually rose as well. To hide the flush of his face, Kazusa adjusted his glasses, lifting the bridge with his middle finger.
(Calm down.)
He silently reminded himself while putting on a mask of neutrality to maintain his professionalism as a doctor.
“You’re here with the patient, right?” Kazusa asked, making an effort to keep his voice steady.
“Yes,” the man confirmed.
“The wound was deep. So we performed a surgical procedure. We used local anaesthesia for the sutures, and the patient is currently resting in the treatment room. There were no issues with nerves or tendons. So once the wound heals, the arm should regain full functionality. It should take about a month for complete recovery.”
“Is that so? That’s a relief.”
A look of relief washed over the man’s face. Judging by the state of the wound, there must have been considerable bleeding at the time of injury.
He had likely been worried the entire time while waiting.

Oh, no
Yes?
Is it like in Duke Ludendorff?
Is he… that?
