SZAR Chapter 24

No: Little friend, do you know how to treat the mental sea?

“You’re talking nonsense!”

Chu Ci’s voice sharply rose, showing his anger. The other military females at the surrounding tables unconsciously turned their attention to him upon realizing he was a male zerg, their glances toward Nuo Wei carrying a hint of pity.

Getting a male zerg this angry meant the female zerg would surely suffer tonight.

Nuo Wei’s face turned pale, aware that he should kneel, but he stubbornly met Chu Ci’s eyes, repeating firmly, “If you’re scared, please let me go to the ninth expedition. I will try my best to die on the battlefield.”

That way, the position of the female monarch would naturally become vacant.

Chu Ci took a deep breath but didn’t say anything for a moment.

He did feel afraid, but not of the so-called ‘mental sea-going berserk’. What scared him was the possibility Nuo Wei had just mentioned.

…Nuo Wei might die on the battlefield during the expedition.

Death in war was a given, but Chu Ci had never considered such a possibility. Nuo Wei’s words were like breaking through a thin layer of glass—this beautiful silver-haired fool was not just his wife but also a military female, a major general of the empire. She was ready to be buried far away, possibly to die in battle and rot on a barren planet, turning into dark sand.

Suddenly, Chu Ci reached up and grabbed his hair.

He felt afraid and sad, but didn’t dare to stop Nuo Wei; that was his goal and mission. So, for once, Chu Ci fell silent, his hand tightening around his hair until a warm hand gently pulled his head free from the tight grip.

Nuo Wei tilted his head to look at him, his cyan eyes filled with concern and confusion. “My Lord?”

Chu Ci rubbed his face. “It’s nothing.”

It was supposed to be the female monarch who had issues with her mental sea and the risk of death; why was he, as the male master, feeling this way? Chu Ci forced a smile. “Don’t think too much, Nuo Wei. Why would I be afraid of you?”

Nuo Wei watched Chu Ci quietly, saying nothing.

The male zerg said he was not afraid—Nuo Wei couldn’t believe it. In that moment, Chu Ci’s expression changed, still showing traces of paleness. Nuo Wei, as a major general, had received training in reconnaissance and interrogation, and could catch the subtle changes in faces. Normally, he was more used to looking down, but now he was looking straight at the male zerg and could see every emotion on his face clearly.

Nuo Wei felt oddly calm, as if his soul had been dipped into a cup of ice water—neither sadness nor joy. He lowered his eyes, no longer looking at the male zerg’s furrowed brows, feeling his heart ache with cold. “I understand.”

“You don’t understand a damn thing!”

Chu Ci grabbed Nuo Wei’s hand, holding it firmly to prevent him from pulling away. “How can we treat this mental sea?”

Nuo Wei looked up in surprise, staring intently at the male zerg’s face, watching his brows furrow in anxiety and his lips move hesitantly, his usually icy complexion suddenly turning a bright red.

Chu Ci anxiously asked, “Tell me, can it be treated?”

Nuo Wei hesitated, refusing to look at Chu Ci, his ears flushing bright red. “…Yes.”

Chu Ci pressed further, “How can it be treated? Should we go to the hospital?”

Before he woke up, Chu Ci was genuinely lacking in intelligence—male zergs typically did not receive much education, their cultural level only reaching a primary school level. Chu Ci had never attended a biology or health education class and knew nothing about the structure of female zergs.

“Forget it.” Seeing that Nuo Wei wasn’t saying anything, Chu Ci didn’t want to waste time trying to pry the information out of him. From his past life experience, the earlier a serious illness is treated, the better; any delay could lead to more severe consequences. “Let’s go to the hospital.”

He said this, pulling Nuo Wei’s hand as he started to walk away.

Nuo Wei struggled frantically. “My Lord!”

He no longer cared about the rules for female monarchs, gripping Chu Ci’s hand tightly, his face flushed with agitation. “No hospital!”

Their table was in chaos, and all the other female zergs nearby turned to watch. Seeing Nuo Wei’s frantic movements, they collectively drew in a breath.

This female zerg was crazy, dragging a male zerg like this—how dare he?

Chu Ci said, “You don’t want to go to the hospital? But the checkup sheet earlier suggested I take you for a full examination.”

The mental sea is a very delicate part; even the slightest miscalculation can lead to major consequences. The tools brought by the officer could only crudely measure a danger level; many scattered details were not clear. Moreover, the mental sea can be treated with medication. With the help of male zergs, it is possible to achieve significant results. Therefore, the Empire recommends that all female zergs with disordered mental seas undergo precise examinations in hospitals.

The resistance from Nuo Wei gradually weakened.

Chu Ci asked, “Is it alright not to go? We can still go somewhere, right?”

Nuo Wei quickly nodded. “Okay.”

He didn’t want his colleagues to continue giving him strange looks!

Hearing him relent, Chu Ci also sighed in relief.

This was more like it; it’s not good to shy away from treatment.

Chu Ci looped his arm through Nuo Wei’s, casually grabbing the female zerg’s coat draped over the back of the chair, and carefully straightened it, making sure the medals were neatly folded into the fabric’s creases before offering it to Nuo Wei. “Do you want to wear it? It’s cold outside.”

The military cafeteria always had the air conditioning on, maintaining a stable room temperature of 25 degrees, but the chilly wind outside wasn’t so forgiving. It was better to put on the coat.

Nuo Wei hesitated. “It’s okay, let’s just go first.”

He didn’t want to stay in the canteen for another minute.

Chu Ci was a male zerg, with less acute senses compared to Nuo Wei, who could sense the scrutiny. All their colleagues were subtly eyeing them when Chu Ci spoke loudly, then when he grasped Nuo Wei’s hand, and even more so when they were pulling at each other. It was as if they were experiencing tremors, and when Chu Ci pulled Nuo Wei’s hand and offered him the coat, Nuo Wei seemed to hear the sound of eyes hitting the ground.

Chu Ci simply said, “Oh.”

Nuo Wei quickened his pace, dragging Chu Ci behind him. The female zerg carefully moved aside the other military females serving food, allowing Chu Ci to follow him comfortably.

The female zerg’s steps were fast, almost in a hurry, forcing Chu Ci to take large strides to keep up. As they walked, Chu Ci suddenly had a bizarre fantasy in his mind — the sharply dressed, expressionless Nuo Wei resembling a cold, domineering Major General from a space opera, while he himself played the part of the runaway little darling of the Major General.

Chu Ci pushed that absurd fantasy from his mind and followed Nuo Wei out of the cafeteria. Once their figures gradually faded away, the cafeteria erupted into intense discussions.

“I swear, that female zerg just now, wasn’t that Nuo Wei, the Major General from the First Army? What was the thing he’s holding?”

“He was holding a male zerg, you idiot!”

“How dare you call the noble male zerg his ‘thing’? Watch out or the noble male zerg’s personal guards will kill you!”

“That must be his male master. My god, the Major General dared to pull at his male master. I felt so nervous for him.”

“… Is the Major General of the First Army going to be replaced tomorrow?”

“Wait, does that mean that Major General Lin En from our army has a chance?”

Lin En held his tray in the corner, letting out a cold grunt.

“Stupid female zergs.”

Unlike his colleagues who knew nothing about Chu Ci, Lin En had been a close observer of two intimate public displays. It was clear to him that Chu Ci was deeply fond of Nuo Wei, but Nuo Wei, being caught up in the situation, couldn’t see it. Lin En, however, could see everything clearly. It was impossible for a male zerg to make a scene with Nuo Wei over such trivial matters, let alone for the Major General of the First Army to be replaced. If he were counting on this to get into the First Army, he might as well wait for the next life.

Lin En bitterly took a sip of his beer, sighing deeply, and suddenly felt poetic.

… Wine flows into my sorrowful heart, transforming into tears of longing.

Meanwhile, Chu Ci led Nuo Wei into his large, aubergine-colored flying vehicle.

The thick skin of the male zerg had grown with practice. From being shy at first, Chu Ci was now able to ignore the various military females walking around beneath him. He coolly opened the ‘big eggplant’ and walked inside with Nuo Wei, his face unchanged.

Chu Ci quickly set up the flying vehicle and activated the navigation system. “Destination, Imperial Central Hos…” His words were cut off when he suddenly swallowed them back, looking at Nuo Wei beside him. “Nuo Wei, how about you manually drive the flying vehicle?”

He hesitated, adding, “I’m a bit scared of the autopilot.”

Nuo Wei blinked, then blinked again.

For the past few days, Chu Ci had been driving recklessly with the autopilot system engaged, darting left and right at full speed from their home straight to the military base. Now he says he’s scared?

Chu Ci stubbornly lifted his chin, putting on a tough face, and stubbornly insisted, “I’m just scared! Go drive the car!”

Though Nuo Wei didn’t understand, the sight of the embarrassed and almost angry male zerg melted his heart. He readily switched off the autopilot and firmly placed his long fingers on the control stick.

Chu Ci crouched in the back, furtively opening the light brain.

He carefully typed in, “Treatment methods for female zerg’s mental sea.”

Although Chu Ci was somewhat mentally deficient before awakening, he had some vague recollections—he hadn’t thought of it earlier due to his urgency. Now he remembered.

The search results quickly appeared on the screen, showing the highest-rated answer with only five words: “Male zerg’s affection.”

Chu Ci’s face fell as he typed, “How to show affection?”

“Open the reproductive cavity.”

No need to search further—the education level of this male zerg was elementary at best, and he knew exactly what was expected next. Chu Ci hugged his head in his hands, thinking, “Is this for real?”

Though Chu Ci had only seen pigs run before, he had never caught one and cooked it. Now, after crossing over from his previous life, he unexpectedly gained a wife without any romantic hand-holding courtship—straight into the act of… this.

But with Nuo Wei’s condition, there was no other choice.

Chu Ci shakily searched, “How to open the reproductive cavity?”

The Zerg were known for their self-indulgence, creating harems and acting as stud horses. The search results were all over the place, a bewildering display. Chu Ci glanced furtively at his female monarch at the front, operating the flying vehicle, and felt a strange flicker of anticipation as he saw the flood of text on the light brain.

Nuo Wei, who was perceptive, noticed Chu Ci’s gaze and slightly turned his head. “Male master?”

His female monarch displayed half of his ancient Greek marble sculpture-like profile, with silver-white hair glowing with purity, reminiscent of the angels serving in biblical tales.

And now, this beautiful, pure female zerg was his wife, and they were about to engage in something significant.

Chu Ci quickly shut the light brain with a sharp clap and shook his head vehemently.

“…No, nothing! Nothing at all!”
