SABL Chapter 83

Shi Yi was in a daze the whole journey back.

After the joy of learning that his glands were mature faded, Shi Yi realized that he was not ready to be a normal omega at all.

His glands were damaged at an early age, allowing him to live shielded away from the effects of pheromones, let alone the estrus period.

In his impression, an omega’s estrus is not a good thing. He personally saw his dad tortured by it for more than ten years, committing self-harm to escape from succumbing to an alpha’s whims.

And the two episodes he personally experienced were filled with endless drowsiness and dull pain.

Will he be like his dad, and lose himself because of an alpha?

Shi Yi shivered in fear. In some respects, the estrus period felt more terrifying than death.

He didn’t want to be marked, he didn’t want to lose his mind, and he didn’t want to let the smell of another person flow in his body. Even if it was Lu Yunye… it wasn’t okay.

This fear is probably engraved in his genes, but most people slowly grew accustomed to it from childhood, able to find a balance between themselves and their partners. But Shi Yi felt like he was thrust into the midst of it, unprepared. He didn’t know how to deal with it, and he didn’t know when it would explode.

After returning home, he plugged in his earphones and played a piece of white noise to calm down. The sound of rain falling in his ears gradually dispelled the restlessness. Just when he could calm down and think, the notification sound from WeChat suddenly rang.

Shi Yi is not in any mood to deal with it now. He wanted to mute the app, but accidentally clicked on it instead. It was a friend request.

The other party’s profile picture is a round pinecone.

It is a very common small pinecone, chestnut brown and rounded.

Even the nickname “Chasing Bunny” is cute.

The other party should have been searching for WeChat contacts. Normally Shi Yi doesn’t add strangers; his friend’s list is full of pending friend requests. But this time, he was a little moved. He checked the other party’s friends circle, it was public, but there was nothing. It should be a new account.

The other party gave off an aura of fishing, but in the end, Shi Yi clicked to agree.

Chasing Bunny was online, and immediately sent a message: [Hello ^-^]

Shi Yi’s fingers moved. [Hi, may I ask who you are?]

The person on the other end was revealed to be typing, but after a few minutes, there is still no new message. It seems that he is also very distressed about how to introduce himself.

Shi Yi smiled wryly and shook his head. Who knows what he was expecting, adding a stranger just because the boy in his dream was named Little Pinecone.

[Chasing Bunny: I just saw you in the hospital and thought you looked familiar, so I asked someone for your contact information]

Shi Yi frowned slightly. He did give the hospital his phone number, but private hospitals have always done a good job of keeping information confidential. Could it be that the other party is an employee?

Even so, Shi Yi felt offended. He wanted to click delete, but a new message popped up.

[Chasing Bunny: When you were young, did you have a friend named Little Pinecone?]

Shi Yi’s heart was shocked. Based on his scattered memories, this nickname is unique between him and the boy. Even his father doesn’t know. How does a stranger know?

Is he…

This probability is even smaller than winning the lottery. How could it be possible that he just remembered someone, and then they appeared by his side as if by divine intervention?

Although he was very surprised, Shi Yi suppressed his emotions and calmly sent a message: “En.”

En!?

In the other room, Lu Yunye almost threw his phone on the ground. Shi Yi has his memories back? How much does he remember? Why didn’t he say anything?

After leaving the hospital, he noticed that Shi Yi’s condition was not right, but the other party was unwilling to speak, so he didn’t probe further.

He just registered this vest with the intention of trying it out, not expecting Shi Yi to accept the friend request and also drop such a bomb.

Probably seeing that he hadn’t replied for a long time, Shi Yi sent another message: [Are you Little Pinecone?]

Lu Yunye’s body responded faster than his brain: [Yes, I have been thinking about you for many years.]

His fingertips trembled slightly as he slowly typed out another message: [Did you think about me?]

He turned the phone over, not daring to see the screen.

The training he received allows him to calm down as quickly as possible no matter what the situation is, enabling him to make the most rational judgment. Lu Yunye took a deep breath, but his heart continued pounding in a panic.

On the one hand, he was surprised that Shi Yi still has an impression of him from childhood; on the other hand, his heart was sour – how can this bunny be so foolish as to add strangers on WeChat, what if he’s tricked?

His phone chimed with an incoming message.

[Yi: I’m sorry, I’m sick, and forgot some of my previous memories. I only recalled some childhood events recently]

In fact, his recollection isn’t comprehensive, there are only some scattered fragments. Despite the incompleteness, Shi Yi could feel the beauty and warmth in them, as if whenever Little Pinecone was around, he would be well protected.

Shi Yi tried his best to recall the other person’s eyebrows and eyes. His eyes were big, framed with long eyelashes, and he was a little chubby. Who knows what the cute kid with a stern face pretending to be serious looks like now.

The first time they met the little alpha was wearing a kid’s suit. He should be a child of a wealthy family. It’s just that his pheromone differentiation level doesn’t seem to be very high; perhaps he will be happier without the pressures of being a top alpha.

[Yi: I remember that I had a very cute friend. He always stands up for me, shows up in time when I need him, and shares small cakes with me. I feel very happy having a friend like you.]

It turned out that this is Shi Yi’s impression of him.

Lu Yunye’s ears turned red, as if he had become the simple alpha who blushed seeing Little Peach’s smile, his heart was throbbing with uncontrollable joy. He never felt so happy when he achieved anything before.

The app showed the other party was typing again. Shi Yi pursed his lips and smiled lightly. He isn’t an extrovert, and he didn’t expect the other party to be even shyer than him.

Speaking of which, Little Pinecone in his memory was like this. He looks like a little adult, and is also very fierce when fighting, but always blushes when looking at him and even stumbles when speaking.

[Chasing Bunny: The time I was with you was also the happiest time of my childhood.]

Regardless of whether the other party’s words are sincere or not, it felt good to be affirmed.

[Chasing Bunny: You said you were sick. I think you came out of the gland department today. Is it a gland problem?]

[Yi: Yes]

Shi Yi raised his eyebrows – Little Pinecone even knew which department he went to. Maybe he really works in a hospital. [Yi: Are you a doctor there?]

It was only at this point in the conversation that Lu Yunye realized that his vest was too sloppily done. He didn’t even think about the reason why he reached out, and could only bite the bullet and reply, [En, yes.]

[Chasing Bunny: I think you went with an alpha, is he your alpha?]

While waiting for the reply, Lu Yunye’s palms were sweating a little. He didn’t know what position he occupied in Shi Yi’s heart.

He felt uneasy because he didn’t know his place in Shi Yi’s heart. If his group of bad friends knew about this, they would ridicule him to death.

[Yi: He isn’t my alpha]

In an instant, Lu Yunye’s heart seemed to be shot by a small arrow, and he plummeted from a state of ecstasy straight to the ground. He felt torn in half with his two identities: one is happy, the other is lonely, and he was divided between the two worlds of ice and fire.

Even so, Lu Yunye continued: [I see you two are very close, I thought you were a couple.]

[Chasing Bunny: Or is there something you don’t like about him?

Shi Yi was silent.

Just when Lu Yunye was about to give up hope and change the topic, he received a message.

[Yi: No, he is the best alpha I have ever met]

[Yi: He is very responsible. Although he was a bit fierce when we first met, he is very kind]

[Yi: He is very good at managing a company and has unique perspectives]

As he described Lu Yunye, many inadvertent details from the past suddenly appeared in Shi Yi’s mind, one after another, which surprised him a little.

[Yi: He is very good at shooting, and he can also make delicious desserts]

[Yi: His pheromone also smells very good. I feel at ease by his side]

With a bang, the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground came from the next room.

Shi Yi called out with some uncertainty: “Lu Yunye?”

No one answered.

He put on his slippers, knocked on the door of the study. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s okay.” Lu Yunye sounded a little guilty. “I accidentally dropped my phone.”

When Shi Yi returned to the room, there was another message on the screen. [Chasing Bunny: Then he must have some shortcomings, right?]

Shortcomings… Shi Yi thought for a while, and wrote very firmly: [Some heavy desires, but maybe top alphas are like this.]

Lu Yunye, who originally planned to correct his shortcomings, fell silent. [Chasing Bunny: This is neutral at most. If he knew you despised him like this, he would be sad.]

Shi Yi was a little baffled, not knowing why Little Pinecone suddenly defended Lu Yunye. But he didn’t want to not reply, so he could only type: [Haha, it’s possible]

On the other side, Lu Yunye was shaking in excitement – Shi Yi is such a hypocrite, he obviously liked it very much!

[Chasing Bunny: Then do you like him?]

Shi Yi fell silent for a long moment, before he went over: [I can’t like him]

[Yi: Because I will leave one day]
