SABL Chapter 88

“Wife?” Lu Yunye looked at Shi Yi in confusion, wondering why he didn’t come over and hug him even though he was so hurt.

Alphas are physically and mentally vulnerable during the susceptible period, and long for their partner’s care and comfort. Lu Yunye didn’t want to go back to the company; he just wanted to stay by Shi Yi’s side.

Bean-sized teardrops fell down with a thud. His body was really in pain, and he didn’t dare lie on his back to sleep. The more Lu Yunye thought about it, the more aggrieved he became. His temper flared up, and he suddenly withdrew his hand, refusing treatment.

“What happened now?” Shi Yi was torn between laughing and crying, knowing that it was useless to argue with him. Lu Yunye was easy to coax when susceptible, so he sat next to him and said, “Then I’ll blow it, okay?”

Lu Yunye felt a gust of warm air with a faint fragrance waft over him, making his heart twitch.

He pointed to a bruise on his belly button: “Blow here too.”

Shi Yi: “…”

He could only push forward.

Facing the childish expectant look without a trace of unhappiness, Shi Yi could only lie down awkwardly and blow on the bruise.

The warm breath spread over the medicine, bringing a burst of coolness, masking the pain.

Shi Yi wasn’t sure if it was his illusion or not,  but Lu Yunye seemed more restrained than before this time. Although he still acts like a spoiled child, he doesn’t frantically ask for it like before.

He gently put his arms around the alpha’s neck. The other party was quiet, like a big obedient dog, putting his head on his shoulder.

“Why don’t you want to go to the company?” Shi Yi asked softly. “Everyone needs you very much now, and they are all waiting for you to go back.”

Lu Yunye didn’t say a word at first, like a dull and stubborn child, but he said after a while, “Because you want to leave, I’m worried that you will disappear after I go to the company.”

Shi Yi’s heart moved. He never mentioned the matter of leaving to Lu Yunye. This thought was buried deep in his heart, and no one knew about it.

But these are two people who have no connection at all. Shi Yi sighed secretly – maybe he’s being too sensitive.

After all, in an alpha’s most primitive nature, marking is proof of owning a person and having a marked partner will greatly reduce their anxiety. When they are in harmony with their partner, symptoms of the susceptible period will also weaken or even disappear altogether.

And similarly, refusing to be marked means that their identified omega has not fully accepted them, and all the favors and entreaties are also wishful thinking.

As if afraid that he would not believe it, Lu Yunye pulled up the report from his phone. The matching rate is 97%. As long as this value is higher than 95%, it can be considered a perfect match.

This means that once they complete the mark, their dependence and influence on each other will be multiplied. They will develop empathy, and even feel down when the other party is sad.

“Because you said you didn’t want to know, I didn’t show you.”

“I will always wait for you. If you don’t like it, then I won’t mark.”

“Then what if I don’t like you ever?” Shi Yi said in a daze, as if he couldn’t find his own voice.

“Then I will wait forever,” Lu Yunye hugged him tightly, and said aggrievedly. “But you have to be nice to me, and you can’t be snatched away by other alphas.”

Shi Yi didn’t say a word, because he didn’t know how to let go of his fear of the estrus period. He only knew that his parent’s relationship was extremely toxic, and left a psychological shadow in him regarding marriage and AO marking.

After spending a weekend at home, Lu Yunye’s susceptibility period did not improve.

He even cried a lot because of nightmares at night. After waking up, he hugged Shi Yi and refused to let go, even insisting on following him to the bathroom.

Shi Yi could only explain the current situation to Lu Yan. Thankfully, this meeting is relatively simple and merely for the various directors to report the current situation. Lu Yunye only needs to listen and share his thoughts at the end.

A speech has also been written for him, and he only needs to read it when the time comes.

“Do you remember everything I told you?” Shi Yi helped him tidy up and then tied the dark blue striped tie, and even styled his hair carefully.

When Lu Yunye is expressionless, no one knows what he is thinking. As long as he can sit obediently for three hours, it won’t be a problem to bluff the employees.

The former is started by LYY and the latter is the family group. Not sure why the author uses the offices interchangeably, unless they’re merged now?[/mfn] Therefore, everyone reporting took this meeting seriously, for fear of leaving a bad impression in front of the old man.

Seeing Shi Yi getting annoyed, Lu Yunye nodded obediently, and rubbed his forehead against his cheek. “Don’t be angry.”

The driver was already waiting outside. Shi Yi sighed helplessly, not knowing how well he actually listened to his words.

This was the first time Lu Yunye appeared in front of employees after more than two months. The entrance of Yunye Media was full of flower baskets, and the original security company was also rehired.

When they arrived, Lu Yan was already waiting at the door. Tears filled his eyes when he saw Lu Yunye. “Brother, you’re finally back!”

Lu Yunye took a half step back cautiously, grabbed Shi Yi’s cuff nervously, and followed him step by step, turning a deaf ear to his cousin.

Lu Yan was heartbroken by his defensive behavior. “Brother, have you lost your memory? I’m your cousin!”

“It’s his susceptible period.” Shi Yi rubbed the center of his brows with a headache. Alphas in the susceptible period are very insecure, and don’t trust anyone except their own omegas. Their senses are also more sensitive, and it is easy to be stimulated by the outside world.

They took the VIP elevator to the meeting room on the top floor. As expected, everyone had already arrived. Lu Feng at one end of the long table, his presence oppressing everyone at the scene.

As if realizing that Shi Yi didn’t dare to act rashly in the meeting, his movements became bolder, and gradually slid down the waistline…

Shi Yi snorted, and shook his whole body slightly. Xiao Ting, who was diagonally opposite, sensed something was wrong, and signaled at him with concerned eyes.

Shi Yi hurriedly signaled that he was fine, and drank some water as a cover-up. At the same time, he grabbed the wayward hand, and threatened viciously: “There is no reward if we go back now.”

Lu Yunye froze, and immediately didn’t dare to make trouble anymore, but he was obviously unhappy. He didn’t want to attend the meeting – he just wants to stay at home with his wife.

Fortunately, the meeting gradually came to an end, and Lu Yan simply ended with: “Everyone can put forward any opinions. If not, let’s invite President Lu…”

“I have an opinion,” Lu Yunye said suddenly.

For a moment, all the eyes in the audience zoomed over. The directors were trembling and buried their heads in flipping through their slides, for fear of missing something. Lu Feng mostly agreed because he wanted to hear his son’s new ideas.

Immediately, a secretary ran over to help attach a neckline microphone. Lu Yunye took a deep breath and choked up: “Wife, my wife, he doesn’t like me at all…”

For a while, Lu Feng was silent, the directors were stunned, and Lu Yan gasped. Only Shi Yi covered his forehead with his hands, wishing he could disappear.
