TCPUAAV Chapter 105

Slap in the face

The young girl’s sharp voice cut through the air, drawing the attention of every passenger in the cabin. For a moment, all eyes were on her, then followed her outstretched finger to the little fox sitting in her seat.

Even though the little fox was in human form, her exposed ears and tail made her identity unmistakable—her fur color marked her as a mixed-blood among the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan, a lineage considered impure and of low status.

The passengers’ gazes were openly scrutinizing, their expressions filled with curiosity and speculation. Judging by the girl’s pristine white princess dress and her demeanor, they assumed she was a pureblood Nine-Tailed Fox.

The Nine-Tailed Fox Clan had always been proud and highly conscious of their lineage. It was well known that pureblood foxes despised hybrids. So, when the young noble lashed out at a mixed-blood, none of the passengers found it strange.

These people had long been conditioned to accept the aristocracy’s rigid hierarchy. As a result, no one stepped forward to call out the girl’s arrogance and rudeness.

But Liv was still fuming.

The longer she looked at this mixed-blood, the more she felt she resembled that wretched half-breed from years ago. Her patience ran out completely.

“Throw her off this ship. I don’t want my eyes tainted.”

As soon as the words fell, her burly bodyguards stepped forward without hesitation, ready to act.

Ruan Shiqing, realizing what was about to happen, darkened his expression and swiftly stood, shielding the little ones behind him.

His gaze was cold and filled with unconcealed disdain.

“Miss, as far as I know, this spaceship belongs to Bassey Airlines and serves all citizens equally. You have no authority to decide who stays and who leaves. On the other hand, your loud, uncivilized shouting and blatant insults toward a fellow passenger are disturbing the peace and severely affecting the travel experience of others.”

After speaking, he pressed the call button on his seat.

“Flight attendants, we have a passenger here disrupting order and harassing others. Please come over immediately to handle the situation.”

The flight attendants, who had been hesitant to intervene, could no longer avoid the matter. Reluctantly, one of them emerged from the cabin door, cautiously approaching Liv’s group.

“This is a public transport vessel. All passengers, please remain seated, refrain from unnecessary movement, and keep noise levels down to avoid disturbing others…”

However, under Liv’s furious glare, the attendant’s voice grew weaker and weaker.

Liv had never been confronted like this in her entire life. Her face flushed red with rage, and the fury burning in her chest only grew stronger.

She was a noble princess! How dare this filthy commoner speak to her like this?!

“Throw them all off the ship! Immediately!” she shrieked.

Merwin, standing beside her, wanted to dissuade her—this was hardly the time to create a scene. But when Liv turned her blazing glare on him, he swallowed his words.

Liv was the fox king’s most beloved daughter. He had no intention of angering her over something so trivial.

Seeing her resolve, the hesitant bodyguards no longer wavered. They stepped forward, prepared to act. After all, they had done things like this before. The noble princess always had someone clean up after her, and it never affected them.

Ruan Shiqing’s expression grew even darker.

This was his first real encounter with the aristocracy’s arrogance and unchecked tyranny.

But rather than showing any fear, his expression remained calm. Instead, he turned to the flight attendant and spoke evenly.

“Under imperial law, this will be considered self-defense. I trust that when the security team arrives, you will report the situation truthfully.”

Without hesitation, Ruan Shiqing was the first to draw his plasma gun, aiming it at the approaching bodyguards.

At the same time, 09, having received his discreet signal, also sprang into action. With one hand, he effortlessly restrained a bodyguard, twisting the man’s arm until it snapped with a sickening crack. Behind him, his spider-like metallic limbs extended outward, their dark barrels glowing ominously as they locked onto the remaining bodyguards.

The bodyguards, who had been ready to strike, froze on the spot.

Under Imperial law, civilians were legally allowed to carry firearms. They themselves were armed, of course, but had never expected this seemingly weak group to be carrying weapons as well. Now, with the tables turned and their advantage lost, they dared not make a move.

However, rather than backing down, Liv became even more enraged. She stomped her foot furiously, the sharp click-clack of her heels echoing in the cabin. Her voice, shrill with outrage, rang out:

“I am a princess of the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan! If you dare lay a hand on me, none of you will leave Sikkim alive!”

“So what if you’re a princess?”

The little dragon cub had been holding back his anger all this time. Now, he climbed onto Ruan Shiqing’s shoulder, put his hands on his hips, and declared arrogantly,

“We’re Daddy’s precious babies! If you dare bully Nota, you’ll regret it!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he puffed up his cheeks and spat out a mouthful of fire at Liv.

——Dragonfire was not like ordinary flames.

Powerful ancient races, like the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan, were generally resistant to most flames. But dragonfire was different.

A coin-sized flame landed on Liv’s hair and immediately burst into a roaring blaze.

The searing heat on her scalp sent her into a panicked scream, flailing as she desperately tried to put out the fire.

Her companions, Merwin and the bodyguards, also scrambled in alarm, fumbling frantically until they finally managed to extinguish the flames.

But the damage was already done.

Liv’s meticulously styled hair was now charred and ruined. Her elegant princess dress was singed and tattered. Her face bore sooty black marks and red burn scars from the heat.

Even though these injuries were treatable, her humiliation was unbearable.

She trembled with rage, her voice shrill as she screeched, “Call the security force! These filthy commoners have gone too far!”

If she didn’t make them pay a hundredfold, she wouldn’t be satisfied!

Merwin, remaining calm despite the chaos, draped his coat over her shoulders and subtly signaled to the bodyguards to stand down, shaking his head slightly.

Anyone with a shred of intelligence could see that this group was not to be trifled with.

But Liv had lived her whole life unchecked, running rampant on Tutar without consequence. Being doted on by the Fox King and Queen, she had never learned restraint.

What she didn’t realize was that Sikkim was not Tutar. This planet was full of hidden powerhouses.

While the Tutar system had its influence, among the four great ancient races, the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan had always been the weakest.

Now, with the Emperor waging war against Sijialan, the Fox Clan, historically aligned with the Merfolk, was in an increasingly precarious position. The Emperor hadn’t turned on them yet, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t.

That was why the Fox King had secretly ordered Merwin to escort Liv back to Tutar as soon as possible.

If their private ship hadn’t broken down, and if he hadn’t been worried about potential dangers, he never would have taken Liv on a public transport ship.

At this moment, Merwin deeply regretted his decision.

But Liv, seeing that no one was obeying her, became even more furious.

Enraged, she personally activated her smart communicator, dialing the security force captain’s number—a man who had covered up plenty of her messes in the past.

As the call connected, a sycophantic male voice came through the speaker.

Unaware that the call was on speaker mode, he eagerly promised to make those who offended her suffer terribly.

After hanging up, Liv let out a cold laugh and settled herself into Merwin’s vacated seat.

Then, she turned to the flight attendant and commanded, “The ship is not allowed to take off.”

Taking out a small mirror, she examined her ruined appearance, her expression turning venomous.

“None of you filthy mutts are getting away today,” she spat.

Ruan Shiqing frowned slightly but remained calm.

He lowered his eyes, deep in thought, before pulling up Dace’s contact number.

He recalled Dace mentioning once that he had a good relationship with Sikkim’s security force chief.

Since Liv was unwilling to play fair, he had no reason to sit back and take the abuse.

Meanwhile, Rong Heng’s face darkened when he saw who Ruan Shiqing was calling.

But now was not the time for that discussion. Instead, he quietly pulled up his own communicator and showed Ruan Shiqing a message he had already drafted:

[Don’t worry, our people will be here soon.]

Although he was officially “dead”, Prince Rong Heng still had loyal subordinates on Sikkim—for example, Lucien.

The moment the conflict erupted, he had already sent a message to Lucien, and reinforcements were already on their way.

Seeing the message, Ruan Shiqing’s tense expression softened.

He put away his plasma gun and signaled 09 to remain on guard in case the bodyguards tried anything.

Then, he turned to the silent little fox and gently picked her up.

From the moment the commotion started, Nota had not uttered a single word.

She was a tough little cub, never one to back down from bad people.

But now, despite being bullied, she was eerily quiet.

Ruan Shiqing had a gut feeling—she was hiding something in her heart.

Ruan Shiqing gently ruffled the soft red hair of the little fox cub and spoke in a warm voice, “Don’t take the words of ignorant and ill-mannered people to heart. We are individuals with our own worth—not domesticated pets whose status is determined by the purity of our bloodline. From a biological perspective, an obsession with pureblood lineage actually leads to genetic degradation and increases the risk of deformities, which is harmful to the survival of an entire race. Only the weak and incompetent take pride in their bloodline—because that’s the only thing they have going for them.”

As he watched the light return to Nota’s eyes, he reached out and playfully tapped her nose.

“But our Nota is well-behaved, smart, and full of wonderful qualities. There’s no need to lower yourself by comparing with people who have nothing to their name besides a so-called ‘pure bloodline.’”

The little fox’s gloom instantly vanished. She clutched at her father’s sleeve and murmured softly, “But I caused trouble for Daddy…”

Ruan Shiqing smiled, his tone reassuring. “Trouble that can be solved isn’t trouble at all.”

He spoke without the slightest concern for the ugly expressions of the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan.

Liv glared daggers at him, but when she realized he wouldn’t even spare her a glance, she had no way to lash out. Frustrated, she ground her teeth and whipped her head toward the entrance, her expression instantly shifting when she saw the security force in uniform arriving.

She immediately stood up, pointing arrogantly. “It’s these people! Arrest them and lock them up for a month! Make sure they’re properly ‘taken care of.’”

Yet, the security force captain, who had always obeyed her every whim, avoided her gaze and hesitated, his posture slightly hunched.

“Miss Liv, our security force operates according to protocol.” His tone was evasive, his hands raised in a placating gesture.

Liv’s expression twisted in disbelief. “You dare disobey me?! You’d better—”

“Miss Liv, this is Sikkim, the Imperial Capital Star. Not Tutar.”

A cold, detached voice interrupted her, cutting through the air like a blade.

The security force members instinctively stepped aside, parting to make way.

Even the squad captain, who had been groveling moments before, instantly bowed his head and hunched over, his voice laced with obsequiousness. “Governor, please.”

A man with an imposing presence strode into the cabin.

He was tall, with a lean yet powerful build, his expression calm yet authoritative. His gaze, as sharp as a blade, swept coldly over Liv.

“I received a report stating that Miss Liv was disturbing public order and making threats against other citizens. I’ll have to ask you to come with us to the Security Bureau.”

Liv’s face turned beet red with fury. “On what grounds—?!”

Before she could finish, she was abruptly silenced.

But this time, it wasn’t her opponent who shut her up—it was Merwin.

Liv didn’t recognize the man.

But Merwin did.

Garland Karlfury.

Dragon Clan Patriarch. Governor of Luso Star.

Though he rarely involved himself in military or political affairs, no one dared to underestimate his status or influence.

Merwin’s pupils constricted slightly.

How had such a minor conflict escalated to the point of attracting the attention of the Dragon Clan Patriarch—a figure who had been out of the public eye for so long?

Oh wow I didn’t expect Garland of all people to be the one to come????!!
