GCCB Chapter 72

Science Fiction (Part 2)

“President, this is the information you wanted, and also according to your requisites, all of the union federation’s researchers of this area have already been invited to the union federation.”

“Mn, see to it. I will meet them in the afternoon.”

“Understood, sir.”

When the hardworking secretary left the office, the union federation president sitting on the chair Huayun – or better said Fu Wang who was wearing the skin of Huayun – stopped what he was doing and grabbed a strange palm-sized metal next to him.

This was the thing that had sent him to this strange place. It was as stall as a human at first, but then it turned into the size of a palm.

About where he was, he had undoubtedly arrived at a completely different world. Everything surrounding him were things he had never seen nor heard of before, although it seemed similar to the things Shu Yu had described, however in other parts there were also differences from her descriptions, too. From this, Fu Wang deduced that this world was a similar but ultimately different world than Shu Yu’s.

Although the humans here could not cultivate and there was no one here who could possibly threaten him (they were even more fragile than the humans in the previous world’s magical continent), the humans here could arm themselves with certain weapons and they relied on a technology called “science”. Using it, they could do many things that humans normally wouldn’t be able to do on their own, and they also turned this world into a much more convenient one.

Compared to his world, the humans living here could be said to be living in bliss, in peace, in happiness, they didn’t have to worry about any dominant predator outside of their race.

Fu Wang was very interested in “science”, he felt they were like the mechanisms he had studied in the past, bearing striking similarities despite their differences.

Fu Wang would’ve been happy to stay here and study the things that interested him, like before when he studied magic, but only under one condition—— Shu Yu had to be by his side.

He lost his Xiao-Yu and he couldn’t find her. If she and him were in the same world, then just because her current body originated from his own flesh and blood, he would definitely be able to find her and also be able to locate and gauge her state. However, now he couldn’t sense her.

Although that perhaps wasn’t quite correct. More accurately speaking, the bond that logically shouldn’t be able to be severed had become muddy and elusive, as if there was something interfering with it.

Fu Wang didn’t understand how this had happened. But using his current identity, he had more or less understood what kind of world this was, and then started studying the strange metal that had brought him here in order to find more clues. As a result, a few researchers of the union federation, surprised, told him of their findings: This was most likely an oh-so-rumoured time machine.

That was to say, it was very possible that time was the distance separating him and Xiao-Yu right now. They were probably within the same world, but in different timelines.

When Fu Wang learnt of this, he didn’t go insane like Shu Yu thought he would, on the contrary, he was very calm. As long as Xiao-Yu was alive, he naturally could find her. In the past, the reason he went crazy that badly was because he knew his beloved would never return, but the situation now was different, it was merely a momentary separation, he will soon be able to find her again.

Besides that, Fu Wang felt very impressed by this time machine. There were so few things that could astound him, but this time machine indeed served to impress him.

To Fu Wang’s knowledge, time was something that even the Heavenly Dao could not intervene with, because that was the origin of what guaranteed a world’s operation. If it were to be meddled with, it could bring about an unprecedented catastrophe—- World destruction at worst, everything would be brought to entropy, or perhaps an even more terrifying ending.

During the millenia where he lost Shu Yu, Fu Wang had once studied time travel and manipulation, but at the time when he vaguely came close to understanding the passage of time, an extremely dangerous feeling appeared. Although he withdrew in time, he also was severely injured by his trial, not even the Heavenly Dao had done as much damage to him.

But in this world, time travel was possible, he had even personally seen to it. There was no need to say what had to be done, Fu Wang obviously had to study this time machine and have a deeper understanding of the power of time and solve the riddle not even he had been able to solve in the past, and then, he will go and find Shu Yu.

But the current question now: How much time was currently separating him and Shu Yu?

Fu Wang issued orders in the laptop in front of him with great familiarity and organized following work. After a mere week, he had already learnt enough to know how to do the president’s work more or less.

Just as he started to learn, fix, and tinker with the time machine, as well as delving into the subject of time itself, one day, black holes suddenly started appearing in the sky above the union federation and other such human establishments.

The drones sent to scout only managed to barely approach its surroundings before being destroyed by monstrous claws that reached out from the black holes. Afterwards, the alien invasion started pouring out in full force to conquer humanity.

Fu Wang, who was immersing himself in a sea of knowledge and rebuilding his three views on science, was extremely unhappy about these beast-like alien creatures that were interrupting his studies.

Star Calendar Year 774, space aliens invaded earth, and just as humanity collectively thought a disaster was upon them, a beautiful and massive fox appeared—- It was exactly as depicted in ancient scriptures of Asian countries, a beautiful nine-tailed fox. This beautiful nine-tailed fox started massacring the aliens brutally, swallowing them one after another, and the more it devoured the more terrifying its aura became.

It devoured continuously for an entire month. Aliens emerging from over a dozen of black holes started decreasing in numbers, and then finally, the black holes shrunk and simply disappeared.

The beautiful fox who protected humanity and was deemed savior of humanity hiccuped, then it vanished as well.

Earth – which should’ve been invaded by aliens – was peaceful today as well. The president was very leisurely too, immersing himself in a sea of books and research, unwilling to pull himself out of it.

Star Calendar Year 974, Planet Sha’ut.

Shu Yu was organizing things. Her organization illness had reared its head after many years dormant. With Fu Wang present, normally he would’ve already organized everything, so there was no use for Shu Yu in such cases. But now, she had almost organized and cleaned up the mess of the abandoned factory within a one kilometer radius.

The things that could only be moved with huge machinery were hefted up by her with one hand and carelessly thrown very far away. Everyday, the children would be able to hear booming thuds from afar as they studied and did their chores.

But today, while Shu Yu was finishing up on a hundred cubic meters of trash, she saw Seven walking over with a grimace.

“Big Sister, Twenty has been kidnapped by aliens.”

“What?” Shu Yu frowned. “How?”

“Just now, Eleven was looking for Twenty, but couldn’t find out where he had gone so she came to me. Then, Second Sis came over saying she got a strange signal, it looked like it came from the alien base, saying they had taken Twenty and that if we wanted to save him, that you had to go there.” Seven’s expression was worried and confused. “Big Sis, do you think a super alien took Twenty away? Does the alien base really have super aliens? Is it true that super aliens look the same as humans?”

“Don’t panic, I will go bring Twenty back.” Shu Yu offhandedly dropped a ten-meter pillar and ruffled Seven’s soft hair.

“Wait, Bis Sis! You’re going alone?! No, it’s too dangerous! I can already maneuver a mecha, so let me go with you!”

Shu Yu turned to look at him. Her tone was calm, “A mecha that can’t even take one blow from me?”

Seven: “…”

“Stay here and protect everyone, I will be back soon.” Shu Yu waved. She grabbed her sword and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Supposedly two hundred years ago, aliens invaded earth by first sending most of their low-level and mid-level aliens to massacre humans, and afterwards was when the high-level and super aliens entered earth, they even constructed a large-scale alien base on earth. As for where this base was, no one knew, because there would’ve been many high-level aliens nearby, so there were no humans that could get past those high-level aliens and survive.

Shu Yu got past them this instant. She was like a player who had cheats turned on. The aliens who were too powerful for the average human were no match against her and soon, she arrived at the base that was supposedly constructed by aliens—— A towering castle that seemed very festive with its many lights.

Shu Yu was still holding her sword while she faced off against a group of brightly smiling maids wearing dresses with tailcoats, standing in front of the entrance as if welcoming someone. She looked behind her, there was indeed an impressive mountain of alien corpses piling up behind her, a result of having chopped her way here, and she wasn’t hallucinating at all.

A humanoid individual was standing straight and primly as he smiled at her, he had white hair neatly slicked back, wearing a monocle and a suit with a tailcoat. He took out a watch from a front pocket and looked at it, then he spoke with a prim, solemn tone, “You’ve spent a total of ten minutes and eight seconds traversing the protective layer swarming with low-levels, mid-levels and high-levels, what an outstanding record, even nobles from our clans seldom can reach such an excellent score. Congratulations Young Miss, your excellent score have earned you the right to become our princess concubine.”

Shu Yu: “… Hah?” What were they saying, what situation was this, she had come to this alien nest to save someone didn’t she, what kind of sudden and out of the blue plot device was this?

No matter whether it was the butler who had spoken, or the lines of female and male servants behind them, they all showed friendly smiles towards Shu Yu. The butler even gestured for her to enter the phantasmal castle that was so very out of place with aliens. “Concubine candidate, please follow me inside, the Prince is already waiting for you.”

Shu Yu didn’t move. She didn’t want to follow this bizarre plotline at all. She said coldly, “I came here for someone. Give me the person I’m looking for and I’ll leave, otherwise, every single one of you, you’ll all die.”

Yes. Very cool. You needed to have this overbearing pressure when threatening others indeed.

As soon as Shu Yu said this, a young boy with golden hair and sky-blue eyes slowly walked out of the castle. He wore a white soldier uniform and looked like an angel. He said, “Don’t be angry, Big Sister Shu, Twenty has come here to personally welcome Big Sister Shu.”

The servants to both sides immediately kneeled in respect. The old butler also bowed in reverence and called, “Prince.”

Shu Yu was slightly baffled.

Why had the Twenty she was supposed to save become the Prince – or whatever – of the alien base, moreover a Prince who wanted her as a concubine. His strange identity and countless other horrible points aside, wasn’t Twenty only seven years old? Whatever the hell was the deal with wanting a concubine without being an adult?

Shu Yu felt that she was focusing on the wrong thing, but forgive her, she really didn’t know what to focus on.

Hear her out; the hero accepted the king’s plea and went to the demon king’s castle to save the princess, but in the end after having fought his entire way to the castle, he had to find out the princess was the demon king who even wanted the hero to marry her, even such a hero would have complicated emotions when faced with this.

“Big Sister Shu, allow me to introduce myself, I am Kokodo Sola, the prince of the Sola Star System. The aliens Big Sister Shu speaks about are merely low-level civilians from our planet, and as for nobles like us, we are existences entirely different from those low-lifes. Our race wanders the universe in order to search for powerful mates so we can birth even more powerful descendants. Sadly even after arriving in this star system for so long, we haven’t found suitable individuals for the role, at least until Big Sister Shu appeared. Big Sister Shu is the exact kind of mate I’ve been trying to find.”

“In order to get close to Big Sister Shu and cultivate our feelings, I didn’t hesitate to disguise myself as a human and mix with those human children, and then orchestrated their meeting with Big Sister… With these sincere feelings, does Big Sister Shu feel happy knowing them?”

Shu Yu’s answer was to unsheathe her sword.

The youthful Prince with his bizarre thinking process shrugged. “Alright, since Big Sister Shu is in such a hurry, then let’s start. It was going to happen sooner or later anyways.” Saying this, his figure started bulking up, becoming an alien – that was only a smidge better looking than other aliens — as tall as an adult human.

Great, this way she wouldn’t have any reserves about fighting him.

Shu Yu’s gaze was sharp and she started fighting against him.

Ever since arriving to this world, this was her first time meeting such a strong opponent, however, he still was a bit worse off than her. The result was of course Shu Yu stabbing straight to him.

The alien bleeding from its chest turned back into a small boy. His smile was weirdly bright. “Since Big Sister Shu won, then it can’t be helped, according to our customs, Big Sister Shu can’t marry me since I lost, I will have to be the one marrying Big Sister Shu.”

Shu Yu: “Haha.” Whether it was her marrying or him marrying her it was impossible, so just give up.

The childish-looking prince looked troubled. “Since I’m the one marrying Big Sister Shu, I will be the one giving birth to our children, I’ve heard it’s very, very painful. Eh, but who asked for me to like Big Sister Shu so much, so I will do it regardless.”

Shu Yu: I cannot understand this world anymore, really.
