In the following days, Jiang Qionghua and Ning Wenying were busy dealing with the aftermath of the kidnapping case.
After such an incident, Jiang Qionghua no longer dared to let Jiang Yi go out alone and hired specialized bodyguards for both children. Perhaps due to the lingering trauma from the kidnapping, Jiang Sixian wasn’t very comfortable with unfamiliar alphas around, so Jiang Qionghua specifically hired female beta bodyguards.
After the police came to take statements from both girls, their respective groups of friends called to check in on them.
After exchanging pleasantries, the class monitor made plans with Jiang Yi for their group of friends to visit her at the Jiang residence. Jiang Yi nodded in agreement: “Let me check with my family first. If they think it’s okay, you can come over.”
A few days later, the class monitor and others arrived at the Jiang household with armfuls of gifts.
Perhaps due to her rapid growth during the confrontation with the kidnappers, Jiang Yi had learned to control her chaotic pheromones before turning twenty. During this gathering, the oppressive aura she usually emitted toward her friends had significantly diminished, which greatly surprised them.
The class monitor even happily punched Jiang Yi’s shoulder, laughing: “Not bad! Does this mean that after you receive your university acceptance letter, you’ll be able to attend school normally like the rest of us?”
Jiang Yi sat on the sofa rubbing her shoulder, smiling: “Yeah, the doctor said if there are no issues during the next six months of observation, I can start school next semester.”
The class monitor couldn’t hide her disappointment: “Another six months? That’s so unfair.”
Jin Duolai thought it was already good progress: “But this is much earlier than expected! In just half a year, Jiang Yi will be free and we can hang out together.”
Zhang Tiantian agreed: “Right.”
Jiang Yi smiled: “That’s what I think too. This is already great progress.”
As Jiang Yi spoke, she noticed Chen Wanzhou staring intently at her and asked in confusion: “Old Chen, what’s up? Why are you staring at me like that?”
Jiang Yi scratched her face in bewilderment: “Do I have something on my face?”
Chen Wanzhou, sitting across from her on the sofa, narrowed her eyes and smiled: “Not your face, but there’s something on your neck.”
Jiang Yi instinctively raised her hands to cover her neck, blushing as she said: “What could there be… nothing…”
Oh no—she suddenly remembered that Jiang Sixian had left several marks on her neck yesterday, which must have become visible by now!
As Jiang Yi tried to hide her guilty secret, all her friends’ eyes turned toward her. Chen Wanzhou chuckled mischievously: “Wait, hold on…”
Seeing her stand up and approach, Jiang Yi immediately covered her neck and retreated into the corner of the sofa: “What are you doing… stay back, what do you want…”
Chen Wanzhou grinned like a bully walking toward Jiang Yi: “Nothing much, I just want to see what’s on your neck…”
As she spoke, she rolled up her sleeves and turned to the class monitor, whose eyes were sparkling with curiosity: “Come help! Jiang Yi has hickeys on her neck!”
“I’m absolutely certain. Let’s strip her and take a look!”
Hearing this, the other friends immediately pounced on Jiang Yi.
Seeing the situation turning dire, Jiang Yi sprang up from the sofa and tried to make a run for it.
Zhang Tiantian reacted quickly, wrapping her arms around Jiang Yi’s waist and dragging her back to the sofa. Jiang Yi struggled, shouting: “Hey, hey, let me go… ow… what are you guys doing…”
Unfortunately, Zhang Tiantian’s sturdy build made it impossible for Jiang Yi to break free. Since they were just playing around, Jiang Yi couldn’t fight back too hard and could only flail like a fish out of water.
Chen Wanzhou told Zhang Tiantian to hold Jiang Yi steady as she reached for Jiang Yi’s collar with a wicked grin. Amid Jiang Yi’s shrieks, she yanked the collar down, revealing Jiang Yi’s colorful neck and collarbone.
Realizing there was no hiding it now, Jiang Yi tilted her head back and let out a resigned sigh: “Chen Wanzhou, you’re really too nosy!”
Seeing the marks covering Jiang Yi’s fair skin, the class monitor dramatically covered her eyes—though she was still peeking through her fingers—and exaggeratedly sighed: “Oh my… which young lady did this to our poor Xiao Yi? She must have suffered so much!”
Jin Duolai, blushing slightly, also looked at Jiang Yi with curiosity: “Jiang Yi, you…”
Jiang Yi rolled her eyes at her friends’ theatrics: “Alright, alright, enough already. Let me go—what’s so interesting about this…”
Chen Wanzhou adjusted her glasses and smirked: “No way. Tiantian, keep holding her. Jiang Yi, you’re being unfair. We’re all sisters here—how could you lose your virginity without telling us? That’s just cruel.”
Lin Yinxi chimed in: “Yeah, yeah! You’re secretly dating someone and didn’t even let us know, even though we visit you all the time!”
Zhang Tiantian, still restraining Jiang Yi, nodded vigorously: “Exactly!”
Trapped in Zhang Tiantian’s grip with her collar undone, Jiang Yi looked somewhat disheveled—though she was oblivious to this. She blew her bangs out of her face in frustration: “So unless I talk, this isn’t ending, huh?”
Chen Wanzhou nodded, while Lin Yinxi and Jin Duolai flanked her, declaring in unison: “Nope.”
Lin Yinxi pointed at Jiang Yi’s collarbone: “Who?”
Jin Duolai immediately followed up: “When?”
Chen Wanzhou smirked, pushing up her glasses meaningfully: “How… did it happen?”
Jiang Yi could tell from Chen Wanzhou’s emphasis on “how” that her mind was in the gutter. Then, from behind her, someone added: “And how far did it go?”
Jiang Yi’s face flushed red. She raised her voice: “You guys really grew up together, huh? The way you sync up on this kind of thing is ridiculous! Seriously, you’re all so nosy!”
Chen Wanzhou shrugged: “Say what you want. So, are you going to share or not?”
Cornered, Jiang Yi snorted: “In your dreams. Why would I tell you guys? If you know, the whole school will know.”
Chen Wanzhou nodded understandingly: “Fine, if you won’t tell us, we’ll just guess.”
She adjusted her glasses, giving Jiang Yi a knowing look: “These hickeys—some deep, some shallow, some fresh, some older—seems like you’ve been getting summoned frequently lately.”
Hey, hey, what did she mean by “summoned frequently”? Was she some kind of kept woman?
Under Jiang Yi’s glare, Chen Wanzhou continued her deduction: “There’s a faint trace of an Omega’s scent on you. Amid your usual bear-like pheromones, it’s sweet like honey—hard to miss.”
Jiang Yi was furious and kicked Chen Wanzhou’s knee: “Hey! What bear? Watch your mouth!”
Chen Wanzhou, taking advantage of Jiang Yi being restrained, dodged easily and grinned: “You should know—for us, an alpha as aggressive as you is like a bear in the wild.”
“You have no idea—your room used to reek of your pheromones, like some territory you’d marked.”
Jiang Yi was livid and kicked her several more times: “What kind of analogy is that? Just wait—I’ll deal with you later!”
Chen Wanzhou laughed: “We’ll see about that later. Now, back to the topic…”
“The only Omega who could enter your panda territory, bite you like this, and leave her scent all over you…”
“There’s only one, right?”
“Come on, let’s say her name together. She is…”
At this moment, all eyes turned to Jiang Yi as they chorused: “Jiang Sixian!”
Amid the mix of surprise, excitement, and gossipy delight, Jiang Sixian, who had been halfway down the stairs, froze.
Holding a tray, she looked toward the living room and saw Jiang Yi with her collar undone, pinned down like a prisoner in front of Chen Wanzhou. Her fingers tightened around the tray.
After a pause, she continued down the stairs and said: “I think I just heard my name.”
Her voice made the five alphas in the living room turn in unison, staring at her in shock.
Jiang Sixian stood at the foot of the stairs, posture elegant and composed: “What… are you all doing?”
Her gaze swept past Chen Wanzou and landed on Jiang Yi. When she saw Jiang Yi’s open collar revealing her collarbone, her lips pressed together, her eyes darkening: “Did I come at a bad time? Am I interrupting something?”
Faced with the fairy-like Jiang Sixian—and sensing the faint but unmistakable traces of Jiang Yi’s pheromones on her—the other alphas instinctively backed away.
The class monitor, in particular, stumbled back, stammering: “M-mark… mark… Jiang Yi’s mark!”
Realizing her blunder, she immediately covered her mouth.
The others all turned to glare at her: We all knew—why did you have to say it out loud? Wasn’t this awkward enough already?
Hearing this, Jiang Sixian lowered her eyes and smiled: “Yes, Jiang Yi marked me before. Has she not told you yet?”
She looked up at Jiang Yi with a meaningful smile. Jiang Yi stiffened, wanting to facepalm. Oh no—she was definitely going to get punished tonight.
The other four alphas shook their heads in unison: “No, no.”
Chen Wanzhou adjusted her glasses and smiled at Jiang Sixian: “Better late than never.”
Jin Duolai quickly added: “Congratulations!”
Zhang Tiantian, flustered, blurted: “May you have a child soon!”
Jiang Yi wanted to bury her face in her hands.
Jiang Sixian chuckled at this. She set the tray down on the table and, like a wife catching her spouse in the act, casually asked: “Thank you. But what exactly were you all doing?”
She glanced at Jiang Yi’s open collar and pressed her lips together: “What kind of game requires such… enthusiastic undressing?”
Though her tone was light, everyone felt a chill. Chen Wanzhou took a step back as the others pushed Jiang Yi forward: “Nothing, just messing around.”
Jiang Sixian took Jiang Yi’s hand and pulled her close, looking up at the four alphas: “Messing around? By stripping her clothes off?”
Despite being an Omega, her presence was terrifying. The class monitor, the most cowardly of them all, immediately covered her face and bowed: “Sister-in-law, I’m sorry!”
Both Jiang Sixian and Jiang Yi froze.
Standing behind Jiang Sixian, Jiang Yi smirked at her friends: “Hah! Serves you right!”
“In my own house, and you try to strip me? No cake for you later!”
Hearing Jiang Yi’s smug, “barking dog” attitude, her friends all rolled their eyes.
Oh, so being in a relationship makes you special, huh?
Chen Wanzhou, in particular, gave her a disdainful look: “Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, boss.”
She then waved for the others to sit: “Whatever. If you’d just told us it was Xianxian, we wouldn’t have bothered stripping you.”
Chen Wanzhou began twisting the facts: “You should’ve said so earlier. We thought you’d gone and seduced some other girl behind our backs.”
At the mention of “seducing some other girl,” Jiang Sixian glanced at Jiang Yi.
Jiang Yi’s eyes widened: “Chen Wanzhou, what do you mean ‘seducing some other girl’? Explain yourself!”
Jin Duolai jumped in to stir the pot: “You know, that girl we met while gaming—the one with the sweet voice who lives near you…”
Zhang Tiantian nodded: “Yeah, at first I thought it was her, since she seemed really clingy with you!”
Jiang Yi couldn’t believe her friends would betray her like this. She desperately defended herself: “No, that girl just presented—and she’s a beta…”
“How could it possibly be her?”
Chen Wanzhou picked up one of the cakes Jiang Sixian had brought and took a leisurely bite: “Which is why I said it wasn’t her later…”
“You were the one who said you didn’t like Xianxian before, so I didn’t dare guess it was her.”
Every word Chen Wanzhou said made Jiang Yi’s scalp tighten. She didn’t dare look at Jiang Sixian and could only keep arguing with Chen Wanzhou: “Be reasonable! Who else would I let bite me like this?”
Lin Yinxi, the only one still on Jiang Yi’s side, added: “Exactly! Don’t take it seriously—Chen Wanzhou’s just dumb. Jiang Yi barely interacts with anyone—who else could it be but Xianxian?”
Chen Wanzhou snorted while chewing her cake: “Not necessarily. Plenty of people would love to bite her. Besides, with her easygoing personality, anyone who gets with her would want to mess with her.”
Jin Duolai agreed: “I think so too. No matter who you’re with, you’d probably let them bite you…”
Zhang Tiantian nodded: “Yeah, you’re just that kind of alpha—the type that’s easy to bully.”
Anyone? Easy to bully? And that girl from gaming?
Jiang Yi’s mind latched onto these keywords, certain she was doomed. Unable to take it anymore, she shoved a cake into Chen Wanzhou’s mouth: “Just shut up and eat!”
After doing so, she glanced at Jiang Sixian, who was smiling sweetly at her, and felt a chill run down her spine.
Clearing her throat, she asked: “By the way, why did you come over?”
Jiang Sixian sat beside her, resting her chin on her hand as she gazed at her fondly: “Mom asked me to bring you some cake. And… I missed you, so I came to see you.”
Jiang Yi, who had been worried Jiang Sixian would be angry, finally relaxed. She scratched her cheek sheepishly: “But we just saw each other this morning?”
Jiang Sixian’s eyes sparkled as she looked at her: “Even so, I still missed you.”
The other alphas, who had expected to see Jiang Sixian get jealous, now found themselves surrounded by the couple’s lovey-dovey atmosphere. Holding their cakes, they suddenly lost their appetites.
Chen Wanzhou, in particular, glanced at the class monitor—who was watching Jiang Yi and Jiang Sixian with starry-eyed admiration—and put down her cake in frustration.
Damn it. Being in a relationship isn’t special! Dating isn’t special!
She swore she wouldn’t visit Jiang Yi again all summer!
