Seeing Jiang Yi starting to get sarcastic with her friends, the little monitor coughed lightly, trying to smooth things over. “I still need to buy dessert after lunch. Jiang Yi, do you want to come?”
Jiang Yi, slowly eating her meal, replied, “I’m not going.” She then turned to Jiang Sixian and asked, “What about you? Anything you want to buy?”
Jiang Sixian shook her head. Seeing this, the little monitor clapped her hands. “Great! Then we’ll go buy things, and you can take Xianxian back to the classroom.”
Xianxian? A bit too familiar, aren’t we?
Jiang Yi glanced at the little monitor, who seemed completely oblivious, focused on getting Zhang Tiantian away so her “CP” could have some alone time.
After lunch, the little monitor and her friends went to the convenience store, while Jiang Yi pushed Jiang Sixian back to the classroom.
On the way back, Jiang Sixian, sitting in her wheelchair, looked up at Jiang Yi and softly called her name, “Jiang Yi…”
Jiang Yi looked down, puzzled. “What’s up?”
Jiang Sixian smiled slightly. “Your friends are quite nice.”
Jiang Yi paused, then continued pushing Jiang Sixian forward. “Really? I thought you’d be afraid of them, since they’re all Alphas.”
Jiang Sixian pursed her lips, lowering her gaze. “Alphas… before differentiation, they’re also girls.” It was more accurate to say that before sixteen, they were all just innocent, lively young women.
Jiang Yi clearly agreed. “That’s true. They’re just ordinary girls, maybe a bit gossipy.”
Jiang Sixian looked puzzled. “Gossipy?”
Jiang Yi pretended not to hear and continued pushing her forward. Seeing her unwillingness to elaborate, Jiang Sixian changed the subject. Biting her lip, she asked softly, “Jiang Yi, after you differentiate, what gender do you hope to be?”
Jiang Yi pushed her into the elevator and casually replied, “A Beta, I guess…”
Jiang Sixian pressed further. “Why?”
Jiang Yi answered readily, “Because differentiation isn’t painful for Betas. If you differentiate as an Omega or an Alpha, the process is quite agonizing.”
“Especially for Alphas. I heard it can be so painful you’d roll on the floor.”
Jiang Sixian looked up, wanting to see Jiang Yi’s expression, but could only see her chin. Oblivious to Jiang Sixian’s gaze, Jiang Yi continued pushing her out of the elevator, saying, “But if I had to choose, I’d rather not differentiate at all.”
Being a girl was great. No influence from others, no influencing others, and no growing strange body parts. Being an ordinary, unremarkable pretty girl was perfectly fine.
Hearing this, Jiang Sixian sighed softly. “If only it could be like that.”
Jiang Yi, hearing her tone, figured she must be feeling helpless. After all, in the original novel, Jiang Sixian had expressed several times her reluctance to be an Omega.
Thinking of this, a certain NSFW description suddenly flashed through Jiang Yi’s mind, along with the line: “If she weren’t an Omega, if she were a Beta or an Alpha, she and Jiang Yi definitely wouldn’t be in this situation.”
Huh? Why mention Jiang Yi?
Jiang Yi racked her brains, trying to understand how Jiang Sixian being an Omega would affect their relationship.
But the more she thought about it, the more her mind filled with explicit scenes of Jiang Sixian and the Alpha lead engaging in various sexual acts.
Having inadvertently read a bit of smut in broad daylight, Jiang Yi felt irritated. She pushed Jiang Sixian into Class A, her voice suddenly cold. “Alright, you’re here. I’m going back to my classroom.”
Jiang Sixian clearly sensed the change in her tone. She looked up, trying to see Jiang Yi’s face, but could only see her retreating back.
Jiang Sixian turned and watched Jiang Yi leave Class A, calling out, “Jiang Yi, thank you.”
Jiang Yi, without turning back, waved dismissively. “You’re welcome.”
Shortly after Jiang Yi left, Tang Qing, having just finished lunch, returned from the cafeteria.
Seeing Jiang Sixian sitting at her desk, pulling out her workbook, Tang Qing’s expression turned complex.
She walked over, leaned against Jiang Sixian’s desk, and called out, “Xianxian…”
Jiang Sixian looked up, puzzled. “What’s up?”
Tang Qing lowered her voice, speaking conspiratorially. “Do you have your phone? Check it. I just sent you a message.”
Her secretive demeanor piqued Jiang Sixian’s curiosity, but she didn’t ask why. She simply nodded. “Okay.”
Jiang Sixian pulled out her phone, opened WeChat, and saw Tang Qing’s message.
Tang Qing had sent a screenshot from the school forum, showing Jiang Yi’s rebuttal from that morning, and asked, “Is what Jiang Yi said true? Are you two stepsisters?”
Jiang Sixian paused, then looked up at Tang Qing, who had returned to her seat and was holding her phone, gesturing for Jiang Sixian to reply.
Jiang Sixian glanced at her, then looked down at her phone and typed with both hands, “Yes and no. Our mothers don’t plan to marry. Where did you see this?”
Tang Qing replied, “On the school forum. Here’s the link.” She then sent the URL to Jiang Sixian.
Having already read through the thread, Tang Qing warned Jiang Sixian, “There were some nasty comments, but Jiang Yi and her friends dealt with them. Some of the content might be upsetting, but I hope you’re okay.”
Jiang Sixian replied quickly, “I’m fine.”
She then clicked on the link.
Initially, seeing people shipping her and Jiang Yi made her blush. Despite her embarrassment, she felt a flicker of joy.
Later, seeing Jiang Yi’s earnest clarification, her eagerness to distance herself, Jiang Sixian felt a pang of disappointment.
Then, seeing the offensive comments, Jiang Sixian’s face paled. Only after seeing Jiang Yi defend her, along with her friends, did she feel slightly better.
After reading the entire thread, Jiang Sixian finally understood why Jiang Yi had been so nice to her today, even taking her to lunch with her friends.
Jiang Sixian was touched by Jiang Yi’s defense. Reading her sharp, witty replies brought an unexpected sense of joy. Although Jiang Yi was usually cold towards her, in certain situations, she was incredibly protective.
This made Jiang Sixian feel that, even if it weren’t for their mothers, she still held some significance in Jiang Yi’s eyes.
After reading the post, Jiang Sixian messaged Tang Qing, “Thank you for telling me about this. I’ll handle the rest.”
Jiang Sixian didn’t intend to have the post deleted. She’d even saved screenshots of the entire thread and was now looking for the anonymous poster, intending to send them a lawyer’s letter, just as Jiang Yi had suggested.
That evening, after returning home, Jiang Sixian contacted a lawyer from the Ning family, instructing them not to tell Ning Wenying about this and to investigate the malicious rumormonger.
Almost simultaneously, Jin Duolai was also digging for the anonymous poster’s real identity, providing live updates in their five-person WeChat group.
As she dug deeper, the person hiding in the shadows gradually came to light.
Jin Duolai posted a screenshot of the ID in the group chat. “It’s not Song Yi. The IP address is in Songshan District.”
The little monitor sighed. “Really? Considering how actively she slanders Jiang Sixian, I find it hard to believe it’s not her.”
Jin Duolai, however, had concrete evidence. “It really isn’t her. It’s a student from Yun City Boys’ High. Ah, I found his picture. It’s this guy.”
Jin Duolai then sent a photo.
The picture showed a boy who vaguely resembled Jiang Sixian, wearing a branded uniform, holding a violin, and smiling shyly.
Zhang Tiantian, after studying the picture for a while, replied, “This guy… looks a bit like Xianxian.”
Seeing that word, Jiang Yi’s mind filled with complaints: Hey, hey, how did it become Xianxian?
The little monitor immediately retorted, “How does he look like Xianxian? Our Xianxian is a fairy. He’s way uglier than our Xianxian! A million of him couldn’t compare to our Xianxian!”
Chen Wanzhou, who had been silently lurking, chimed in, “Yes, he can’t compare to our Xianxian.”
Hold on, how did she become “our” Xianxian? You Alphas are so strange!
Jiang Yi was utterly speechless. She directly tagged Jin Duolai, getting straight to the point. “Duolai, can you find out this guy’s name?”
Jin Duolai quickly replied, “I’m looking.”
“This guy has posted so many threads, constantly slandering Xianxian on our school forum.”
Jin Duolai then posted links to all the relevant threads.
Jiang Yi, wanting to preserve the evidence, took screenshots of everything.
As they gathered more information, Chen Wanzhou suddenly popped up with a message. “Damn! I know who this is! I just confirmed it!”
The little monitor: “Who is this little shit?”
Zhang Tiantian: “Who is it?”
Jiang Yi: “?”
Soon, Chen Wanzhou sent a voice message. Jiang Yi clicked on it and heard Chen Wanzhou’s excited voice: “It’s that bastard, the one Jiang Sixian’s dad had out of wedlock, the one who’s four months younger than Jiang Sixian!”
“Damn, that little shit’s surname is Jiang. His name is Jiang Duobao.”
The little monitor wittily replied, “Insulting to the Jiang name…”
Chen Wanzhou: “Insulting to ‘many’…”
Jiang Yi followed suit: “Insulting to ‘treasure’…”
After their little wordplay, Jiang Yi immediately asked, “Seriously, is this guy sick? Why is he slandering Jiang Sixian on our school forum? Is he mentally unstable?”
At that moment, Jin Duolai, having finally found the information, posted a screenshot. “This guy!! This guy is Jiang Sixian’s half-brother, named Jiang Duobao.”
Jiang Yi found the word “brother” incredibly irritating and immediately replied, “Duolai, you’re late. Also, Jiang Sixian doesn’t have a brother.”
The little monitor agreed. “Yes, he’s too ugly. He’s not worthy.”
“Not worthy +1”
After thoroughly bashing Jiang Duobao, they returned to the original question. “So, what’s this little shit’s motive? Going out of his way to slander Xianxian, is he tired of living?”
Chen Wanzhou offered a reasonable guess. “Probably jealousy. I heard he doesn’t have a good life at the Jiang family home. The older generation doesn’t like him or his mother… Plus, Jiang Sixian has always been more outstanding than him. He’s probably twisted.”
Jiang Yi frowned in disgust, typing furiously, “That’s so twisted. Is he a male version of Song Yi?”
Zhang Tiantian added, “Not really. At least Song Yi is openly nasty. He does it behind people’s backs.”
The little monitor agreed. “He’s more disgusting than Song Yi.”
Chen Wanzhou continued, “Yes. Looking at those posts, he mostly started posting after Jiang Sixian presented as an Omega. He probably thinks that after presenting as an Omega, Jiang Sixian is no longer a threat to his inheritance and has become arrogant.”
Chen Wanzhou added, “By the way, Jiang Sixian’s Jiang family is the Songshan Jiang family we’ve been talking about. They have a tradition where only Alphas can inherit the family fortune. Quite old-fashioned and ridiculous.”
Chen Wanzhou seemed quite familiar with these wealthy family affairs, rambling on about the Songshan Jiang family’s bizarre traditions.
“Jiang Duobao’s mother is an actress, a veteran in the industry now. So, Jiang Yi, what are you going to do about Jiang Duobao?”
What could she do?
Jiang Yi replied, “He disgusts me. I’m going to return the favor.”
