SWMSO – Chapter 59

Jiang Yi lay in bed for a while, finally waiting until Jiang Sixian fell asleep. She cautiously reached out and gently patted Jiang Sixian’s cheek: “Hey…”

“Jiang Sixian… Jiang Sixian?”

Jiang Yi patted her several times. Good, Jiang Sixian didn’t respond—definitely asleep. With this confirmation, Jiang Yi carefully lifted Jiang Sixian’s arm and tried to wriggle out from under her.

But the moment Jiang Yi moved slightly, Jiang Sixian suddenly tightened her arms. Her previously closed eyes snapped open, staring directly at Jiang Yi.

This physical reflex was sharper than some seasoned veterans.

Jiang Yi was startled by her abrupt awakening. She looked down at Jiang Sixian, silent for a moment before saying: “Jiang Sixian, I…”

Jiang Sixian’s groggy mind instantly cleared. She blinked and asked Jiang Yi: “Where are you going?”

Jiang Yi pointed toward the bathroom: “To take a shower. I feel really uncomfortable.”

Hearing this, Jiang Sixian relaxed. She sat up from Jiang Yi’s body, the air-conditioning blanket naturally slipping off and exposing large areas of her bare skin.

Jiang Yi glanced at her snow-white shoulders and quickly got up, grabbing the blanket to tightly wrap around Jiang Sixian.

Jiang Sixian sat on her lap, watching her calmly: “Then let’s go together.”

Jiang Yi draped the blanket over her, clutching it tightly at her chest while avoiding eye contact, firmly rejecting the suggestion: “No, if you want to go, go by yourself.”

Based on the past three days’ experience, if they went in together, things would definitely spiral out of control.

Jiang Sixian sat on her lap, thinking for a moment: “Fine, you go first then.”

Jiang Yi felt like she’d been granted amnesty. She grabbed a robe from the bedside, threw it on, and scrambled off the bed, rushing toward the bathroom in a panic.

Jiang Sixian sat on the bed, wrapped in the blanket as she watched Jiang Yi flee in disarray. She suddenly burst into laughter.

Honestly, when scared of her, Jiang Yi reacted exactly the same as before.

She couldn’t possibly be that intense, that demanding, that insatiable—enough to torment Jiang Yi like this, right?

Jiang Sixian turned her head toward the bathroom, hearing the sound of the door being forcefully shut. She slowly lay down, resting her head on the pillow.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Jiang Sixian lay on the bed, breathing in Jiang Yi’s scent from the pillow, and gradually closed her eyes.

When Jiang Yi came out of the shower, she found Jiang Sixian already asleep on the bed. Drying her damp hair, she pulled up a chair and sat by the bed, silently watching Jiang Sixian for a long while.

Truthfully, Jiang Yi hated trouble, but she also knew some troubles were unavoidable.

Jiang Sixian had already uncovered all her secrets—there was no running away now. Things had reached this point, and Jiang Yi wasn’t irresponsible. She decided to at least say goodbye before leaving.

After drying her hair, Jiang Yi called room service for a new set of clothes and some stationery. Once dressed, she quickly scribbled a note: “Family matters, heading home first. Call me if needed.”

Jiang Sixian’s dossier already had her phone number. Jiang Yi knew she couldn’t escape forever—Jiang Sixian would find her eventually.

Jiang Yi tidied up the room to make it look less chaotic, folded Jiang Sixian’s clothes and placed them on the sofa to air out the scents. She also left a robe by the bed so Jiang Sixian could wear it upon waking.

After all this, Jiang Yi grabbed her phone and tiptoed out. Making sure the door was securely locked, she went downstairs and hailed a cab home.

On the way, she checked her phone—only 20% battery left. Her contacts were filled with messages from her old squad leader, and her inbox was packed with his emails.

The most recent one read: “Call me immediately when you’re done.”

Seeing this, Jiang Yi immediately dialed his number.

Soon, her squad leader’s shocked voice came through: “Holy shit, Jiang Yi, did the rich girl let you go?”

Listen to this nonsense! Jiang Yi frowned, her tone icy: “What rich girl? Did you hear some weird rumors somewhere?”

Hearing her displeasure, the squad leader immediately shut up.

Jiang Yi sighed and said: “About that mission with Miss Song Yi… something came up on my end, so I didn’t finish it. Did that cause trouble for you?”

The squad leader quickly replied: “No trouble at all! Someone already came to explain three days ago. Miss Song Yi’s case only had two days left anyway, and you’d already taken care of the threats. Don’t worry about payment—it’s been transferred to your account.”

Jiang Yi had already seen the transfer notification when she checked her phone. Still, hearing this from her squad leader put her somewhat at ease.

After a pause, she said: “Thanks, squad leader.”

“That’s what you earned—all your hard work and risking your life.”

Then, cautiously, he asked: “That young mistress who took you away… she didn’t give you trouble, did she?”

Jiang Yi was puzzled: “How did you know it was a young mistress who took me?”

The squad leader sighed: “Anyone in Yuncheng’s security industry knows the Jiang family’s young mistress. She’s the heir to Jiang Corporation. After being kidnapped at seventeen, half of Yuncheng’s security personnel were hired by the Jiang family. Thanks to her, all the wealthy families’ kids in the city now have personal bodyguards. Us veterans can at least make a living.”

“Oh, and she usually has four bodyguards—one visible, the other three hidden. All are highly skilled female beta veterans.”

“Apparently, she doesn’t like alphas much, so there aren’t any alpha bodyguards around her.”

Hearing this, Jiang Yi couldn’t help but scoff. Jiang Sixian didn’t like alphas? Please—she loved them to death, but only the specific alpha she fancied.

Jiang Yi asked: “So?”

The squad leader said: “You’re the only alpha who’s gotten this close to her—and spent three days and nights with her in a hotel.”

He paused, then said solemnly: “Jiang Yi, remember your old friends when you rise in the world!”

Jiang Yi rolled her eyes: “Yeah right, I’m not rising anywhere. These rich young mistresses aren’t for ordinary folks like us to dream about.”

The squad leader emphasized: “But you spent three days with her—helped her through her heat.”

Wait, was it Jiang Sixian in heat? That was her!

Jiang Yi grew agitated: “That was me—”

The squad leader gasped: “No way! Was it you—the alpha—in rut?”

Jiang Yi immediately defended: “It wasn’t me…”

The squad leader sounded even more horrified: “Oh no, oh no! She was willing to spend those days with a rutting alpha—she must really be into you! Jiang Yi, when you marry into wealth someday, don’t forget your hardworking squad leader!”

Jiang Yi was at a loss for words. She sighed: “We knew each other before.”

The squad leader was stunned: “What? You know someone that important? Did you save her on a mission? Hero rescues beauty, she falls secretly in love, then upon reuniting, loses control and drags you to a room for three days and nights?”

In a way, the squad leader wasn’t wrong. Except the hero who saved the beauty was the original Jiang Yi, not her.

Jiang Yi couldn’t be bothered to explain: “Enough nonsense. I need to pick up Da Huang. Call me if there’s work.”

She hung up and took a cab to the pet hospital to retrieve Da Huang before heading home.

Her current place was a loft apartment near a subway station in a busy district—one bedroom, one living room, one bathroom, about 35 square meters.

The first floor was basically her and Da Huang’s living space, while the second floor was for sleeping.

Jiang Yi carried Da Huang back to her home, empty for a month, and took out dog food and canned food from the fridge, filling Da Huang’s bowl.

Da Huang lay on the floor, eating obediently. Watching this well-behaved sight, Jiang Yi stroked its fur and asked with a smile: “Da Huang, my good boy, did you miss me?”

Da Huang was a young black dog. During a mission with Jiang Yi, it had been shot in the leg by drug dealers, leaving it permanently lame and unfit for duty—so Jiang Yi adopted it.

Perhaps due to its injury, Da Huang, like Jiang Yi, tended to be lazy. Now it leisurely licked its canned food and, hearing Jiang Yi’s question, gave two very human-like barks in response.

Jiang Yi grinned, ruffling its head: “Good boy. Sis will make you chicken legs tonight.”

As the two enjoyed their reunion in the living room, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Jiang Yi called out: “Coming!”

Muttering “who could it be,” she walked to the door and pulled it open.

When she saw Jiang Sixian standing outside her door, wearing sunglasses and looking poised, Jiang Yi froze: “How did you get here?” Weren’t you sound asleep? How did you wake up and find this place?

Jiang Yi realized she hadn’t been home long—picking up Da Huang only took a little time. So Jiang Sixian must have woken shortly after she left and followed her here.

Jiang Sixian pressed her lips together, her expression unreadable behind the sunglasses.

Just then, Da Huang stood up inside, limping as it barked at Jiang Sixian.

Jiang Yi turned, holding the doorframe, and said to Da Huang: “Da Huang, she’s one of us. Don’t worry!”

Jiang Sixian pursed her lips, removed her sunglasses, and squinted at Jiang Yi with amusement: “Da Huang? Your pet is named Da Huang?”

Jiang Yi corrected her: “To be precise, that’s my partner. His name is Da Huang. Got a problem with that?”

Jiang Sixian pointed at Da Huang with her sunglasses: “But he’s black.”

Jiang Yi pointed at Da Huang’s tail: “But his tail is yellow.”

What kind of naming logic was this?

Jiang Sixian lifted her chin, smiling as she greeted Da Huang: “Hello, Da Huang.” Then she turned, fixing her gaze on Jiang Yi: “Since I’m already here, aren’t you going to invite me in?”

Jiang Yi felt she might have provoked an extraordinary woman. She stepped aside, making way for Jiang Sixian.

Jiang Sixian entered Jiang Yi’s small apartment, looking around. Jiang Yi scratched her cheek, closing the door behind them, and said somewhat awkwardly: “I haven’t been home in a month, so there’s probably nothing to drink. Want some boiled water?”

Jiang Sixian ignored the question, turning instead to ask: “You’ve been living here since leaving the military?”

Jiang Yi sighed: “Didn’t you investigate me?”

Jiang Sixian pressed: “Has anyone else been here?”

Jiang Yi thought: “Probably not. I’ve only lived here two months.”

Jiang Sixian nodded: “Good.”

With that, she turned, placed a hand on Jiang Yi’s shoulder, and pushed her against the door, leaning in for a kiss: “Good morning kiss, Jiang Yi.”

Jiang Yi’s eyes widened at the beautiful face suddenly filling her vision—instantly captured once more by Jiang Sixian.

As she was pinned again, Jiang Yi glanced at Da Huang watching them intently from across the room, panting as she thought: Do all omegas have this much energy?

But soon she couldn’t think at all, because Jiang Sixian bit down again. Jiang Yi quickly grabbed her hands, restraining her in an embrace, and said helplessly: “Jiang Sixian, don’t you ever get tired?”

Jiang Sixian let out a soft “ah,” nibbling Jiang Yi’s chin as she whispered: “I do, but not when I see you.”

Jiang Yi felt Jiang Sixian might actually be the death of her. She simply picked Jiang Sixian up and carried her toward the second-floor bedroom, saying patiently: “I know you missed Jiang Yi’s pheromones, but could you maybe show some restraint?”

Jiang Sixian nestled in her arms, looking up with red-tinged eyes: “If you knew I missed your pheromones, why did you leave?”

Jiang Yi sighed: “I had to pick up Da Huang.”

Jiang Sixian rubbed her leg against Jiang Yi’s thigh, saying softly: “But when you leave, I’ll miss your pheromones and won’t be able to sleep.”

“Jiang Yi, don’t go. Just let me hold you while I sleep—I’ll wrap around you.”

Wait—wrap around? What kind of operation was that? What did that mean?

Jiang Yi looked down, stunned. Jiang Sixian, seeing her shock, happily pinched her cheek and winked: “Exactly what you’re thinking.”

Jiang Yi surrendered. She placed Jiang Sixian on her bed and glared: “In your dreams. Not happening!”

As she turned to get bedsheets from the closet for Jiang Sixian, Jiang Sixian lay on the bed, propping her chin in her hands as she watched with a smile: “But Jiang Yi always agreed to this before.”

Jiang Yi was shocked, hugging the sheets as she turned: “You played like this as minors? And her mom didn’t send her to juvie?”

Ah, this ABO world was truly something else!

Jiang Sixian was delighted by her reaction, laughing until her eyes curved. After a while, she stopped smiling, simply gazing at Jiang Yi with tender eyes: “No, because no matter what she did to me, I never felt like she was taking advantage of me.”
