SWMSO – Chapter 61

Jiang Yi felt she must have been possessed by some demon. Who would have thought that someone as upright and kind-hearted as her for the past twenty-three years would end up agreeing to Jiang Sixian’s contract without hesitation, essentially selling herself off.

After everything was over, Jiang Yi sat on the bed, watching Jiang Sixian draped in her shirt as she typed away at the contract document on her laptop. Her head spun dizzily.

Damn it, Alphas really were weak to their own biological instincts. After hearing just a few sweet words from her pillow partner, she had so easily given herself away!

How infuriating! Logically speaking, did she and Jiang Sixian even need to maintain this kind of contract?

Jiang Yi was filled with regret now, but she couldn’t just go back on her word and say to Jiang Sixian, “Stop typing. Let’s just treat this as a one-night stand. Now that we’re done, let’s part ways quickly!”

Could she? Could she really? She absolutely couldn’t!

It was all Jiang Sixian’s fault for being so delicate and soft. It was all her own fault for never having tasted anyone else before. Now she was completely intoxicated by Jiang Sixian’s pheromones, her head spinning in circles.

Jiang Yi watched Jiang Sixian’s slender back as she sat by the bed typing the document and found it incredibly alluring. Her body reacted with shameless honesty once more.

Realizing she was getting aroused again, Jiang Yi glared down at the offending part of herself and cursed inwardly: Ugh, shameless, spineless thing! Always thinking about this, completely enslaved by desire!

After spending a few days tangled up with Jiang Sixian in bed, Jiang Yi felt like certain parts of her body no longer belonged to her. The slightest provocation from Jiang Sixian could keep her going day and night without rest.

Moreover, the intensity of their activities was far less exhausting than her usual physical training. With energy to spare, Jiang Yi found herself completely immersed in pleasure.

Just as Jiang Yi was internally berating her own raging desires, Jiang Sixian finished typing and turned to face her with the laptop. “Jiang Yi, take a look at these terms. Is there anything you’d like to add?”

Jiang Sixian was only wearing Jiang Yi’s shirt, the buttons at the front completely undone. When Jiang Yi looked up and saw the expanse of bare skin exposed before her, the dazzling whiteness made her head spin.

Jiang Sixian noticed her reaction and leaned forward slightly, showcasing her exquisite figure as she brought herself closer to Jiang Yi. “Come, take a look. Read it carefully.”

Jiang Yi’s eyes darted around uncertainly, unsure whether to focus on the red marks on Jiang Sixian’s chest or the laptop screen.

Even after doing it so many times, Jiang Yi still felt flustered in situations like this.

In the end, she simply snatched the laptop away and turned her back to Jiang Sixian, reading the document line by line.

When she reached the first few clauses, Jiang Yi turned to look at Jiang Sixian. “You want me to be your personal bodyguard?”

Jiang Sixian nodded. “Because of the medication I’ve taken, my heat cycles remain unstable even after adulthood. So I need you by my side at all times to ensure I don’t encounter other Alphas.”

Jiang Yi’s heart skipped a beat. She turned to stare at Jiang Sixian. “Medication? What kind of medication affects heat cycles?”

Could it be neurological hormone medication? But Jiang Sixian didn’t seem to have any issues.

Jiang Sixian nodded. “Some psychiatric medications. But they stabilized last year. Does that bother you?”

For some reason, Jiang Yi suddenly felt a tightness in her chest. She turned back to the screen and scrolled down a few more lines. “As long as it’s stabilized, that’s good. Keep up with your treatment. I don’t mind things like that.”

Jiang Sixian glanced at her profile before boldly shifting closer. She knelt behind Jiang Yi and wrapped her arms around her, pulling her into an embrace.

There was nothing separating them as their warm bodies pressed together. Jiang Yi felt the softness against her back and the faint brush of certain points against her skin, causing her body to tense instantly.

To make matters worse, Jiang Sixian acted completely unaware as she draped herself over Jiang Yi, tilting her head to ask softly, “So you agree to this condition?”

Jiang Yi’s mind wandered, and she let out a vague hum of agreement before asking, “But you’ll have to pay me a salary and provide a formal employment contract with social insurance and housing fund benefits. Also… if you ever want to fire me, give me advance notice.”

Jiang Sixian nodded. “Alright, I’ll have someone draft a contract for you.”

Jiang Yi nodded and said, “Okay.” Jiang Sixian hugged her even tighter, resting her chin on Jiang Yi’s shoulder as she asked, “There’s something I want to ask you…”

Jiang Yi wasn’t particularly concerned. “What is it?”

Jiang Sixian thought for a moment, carefully choosing her words. “From my investigation, I found out that when you were discharged from the military, it was due to an injury with an honorable discharge. You received a substantial bonus—enough to buy a resettlement apartment in Yuncheng. So why did you end up just renting an apartment there instead?”

Jiang Yi paused before answering, “The housing prices in Yuncheng are too high.”

Jiang Sixian tightened her arms around her. “But it was within your means. What did you use that money for? Investments? Or something else?”

Jiang Yi turned to look at Jiang Sixian. “Why are you asking about this?”

Jiang Sixian gazed at her with sparkling eyes. “I’m curious. You strike me as a pragmatic person, someone who came from another world with no ties here. So I thought that once you had money, the first thing you’d do is buy a house to settle down and have a home.”

“Earlier, when we were downstairs, I also took a look around your place. It’s small, but it has everything—it feels like a cozy home.”

“So why didn’t you buy a place?”

Jiang Yi turned to look at Jiang Sixian, who was watching her intently. For some reason, her heart began to race.

She felt like Jiang Sixian must have studied psychology—how else could she understand her so well?

She had wanted to! She really wanted to! But circumstances hadn’t allowed it!

Jiang Yi sighed and said to Jiang Sixian, “My money… isn’t just for me to use. I… couldn’t buy a house.”

Jiang Sixian grew even more curious. She looked at Jiang Yi and asked, “Why? What do you mean your money isn’t just for you to use?”

Jiang Sixian narrowed her eyes, hugging Jiang Yi tighter as she pressed further. “Are you supporting another woman? Or do you have a child to raise? Did you do something to this body that would betray me?”

Jiang Yi was both exasperated and amused. She sighed helplessly and said, “No, I haven’t done anything to this body that would betray you.”

To prevent Jiang Sixian from misunderstanding further, Jiang Yi had no choice but to explain. “Military discipline is very strict. And before meeting you, I was somewhat repulsed by other people’s pheromones… and certain aspects of my own body.”

Jiang Yi paused before continuing, “In the world I came from, there was no such thing as secondary genders. Most people were simply boys or girls, and those with dual reproductive organs were a minority.”

“I used to be a girl. I wasn’t used to this organ and didn’t like it, so I never used it. Let alone do anything… strange with it.”

Jiang Yi paused again before adding, “I’m telling you this so you don’t misunderstand. I haven’t done anything inappropriate with your lover’s body, and there are no secret love children.”

Jiang Sixian rested her chin on Jiang Yi’s shoulder, gazing at her softly, her eyes shimmering as if with unshed tears.

Perhaps because she had never spoken about this to anyone before, Jiang Yi found herself unable to stop once she started. “This world is so strange. People’s attraction to each other isn’t determined by emotional or mental connections but by biological pheromones. When the body has needs, it releases pheromones to facilitate mating—just like insects or animals.”

“I find it hard to understand.”

Jiang Yi looked at Jiang Sixian. “This body has marked you before and remembers your pheromones, so it’s very fond of you. I… feel like I have no control over my body—it just follows the pheromones. It’s a little troubling.”

Jiang Sixian gazed at her quietly and said, “When I fell in love with Jiang Yi, she hadn’t even presented yet. My love for her had nothing to do with pheromones.”

“Also, Jiang Yi never released pheromones inside me. The mark she gave me was temporary…”

“That mark would fade after six months.”

Jiang Yi was stunned. So all those flirtatious things you said to me before were just teasing?

She stared blankly at Jiang Sixian, her heart pounding. Jiang Sixian rested her head on Jiang Yi’s shoulder and said softly, “Do you know how I managed to spot you in that crowded banquet hall?”

Jiang Yi instinctively asked, “How?”

Jiang Sixian smiled and wrapped her arms around Jiang Yi’s waist. “You might not have realized it, but at that time, you unconsciously released pheromones directed at me. Out of all the omegas present, you were the only one who did that.”

“In the pheromones I received, there was only one message…”

Jiang Yi hadn’t noticed this at all. She asked blankly, “What message?”

Jiang Sixian blinked at her. “Why should I tell you?”

Jiang Yi huffed in annoyance. “Fine, don’t tell me. It’s not important anyway—it’s not like you like me.” Given how deeply devoted Jiang Sixian was to “her,” willing to accept even just the body, the chances of her shifting her affections seemed nonexistent at this point.

Only after speaking did Jiang Yi realize how much she sounded like a bitter, rejected lover—like some peacock that had failed to attract a mate.

Jiang Sixian looked at her in surprise before suddenly breaking into a radiant smile. She shifted positions, straddling Jiang Yi’s lap as she asked, “Let’s not talk about that. Back to the main topic—who did you spend all your money on?”

Still smarting from the perceived rejection, Jiang Yi replied sarcastically, “Why should I tell you?”

Jiang Sixian draped herself over Jiang Yi’s shoulder, shaking her gently as she wheedled, “Come on, tell me. I’m curious about what you’d spend your money on.”

Jiang Yi’s ears turned red instantly, but she maintained her composure. “Oh, so just because you’re curious, I have to tell you?”

Jiang Sixian chuckled before taking Jiang Yi’s earlobe between her lips. “Oh kind-hearted one, please tell me. You can do whatever you want to me tonight.”

Jiang Yi shuddered, sucking in a sharp breath. She grabbed Jiang Sixian’s wandering hands and immediately surrendered. “No no no, I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you. Even if you can take it, I’m worried I’ll wear you out.”

This really wasn’t necessary. It wasn’t some big secret worth this much effort.

Holding Jiang Sixian’s hands, Jiang Yi felt like she would be drained dry sooner or later. She turned to look at Jiang Sixian and revealed something she had never told anyone before: “I used to be part of a special forces unit on the border…”

“A few years ago, during a mission to capture a drug lord, one of my comrades died. Her family wasn’t well-off—her mother had kidney failure and passed away not long after her death. That left only her wife to raise her younger sister…”

“We were close, so I would help them out from time to time. A while back, her younger sister was diagnosed with leukemia and needed surgery, so I gave her the money.”

“That’s all there is to it. Just comrades helping each other—nothing more.”

After briefly recounting the story, Jiang Yi noticed Jiang Sixian staring at her intently without blinking. Feeling self-conscious under her gaze, Jiang Yi pinched her own earlobe and asked, “What?”

Jiang Sixian smiled and suddenly released her hands. She shifted forward, straddling Jiang Yi’s lap as she cupped Jiang Yi’s face and studied her seriously. “I think this face looks even more beautiful now.”

Jiang Yi looked up at her in confusion. Jiang Sixian held her face, staring straight into Jiang Yi’s eyes as she said with a smile, “With you inside it, this body seems to glow.”

In that moment, through their locked gazes, Jiang Yi felt that Jiang Sixian was seeing her—the person wrapped inside this borrowed flesh.

She was praising her.

The realization made Jiang Yi’s heart pound uncontrollably.
