SWMSO – Chapter 67

In the end, Jiang Yi decided to stay in this apartment.

The apartment was spacious, spanning two floors. Although it wasn’t as fully equipped as the mansion, it still had everything one could need—a gym, a home theater, and a study.

This was the first time in her life Jiang Yi had lived in such a luxurious apartment, and she found it incredibly comfortable. If Jiang Sixian hadn’t been staying over, she would have enjoyed the experience even more.

That evening, after settling Da Huang in, Jiang Yi organized her belongings and went to take a shower.

At the time, Jiang Sixian was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, talking on the phone. Before heading upstairs, Jiang Yi glanced at her and heard her discussing something along the lines of “We’ll talk about it tomorrow.” Assuming Jiang Sixian wouldn’t have time to bother her, Jiang Yi grabbed her clothes and headed to the bathroom.

But she still hadn’t learned her lesson—halfway through her shower, Jiang Sixian barged in again. This time, Jiang Yi was wiser. She lay lazily in the bathtub, watching as Jiang Sixian walked in wrapped in a towel, and said, “Truce for today. You have work tomorrow, right? If we keep this up every day, how are you going to handle it?”

Jiang Sixian looked at her in surprise. “Are you thinking about that? If you want to, I don’t mind.”

As she spoke, she began to unwrap the towel around her. Jiang Yi immediately stood up to stop her, her face burning red. “Stop, stop, stop! That’s not what I meant!”

Jiang Sixian pressed her lips together and glanced down at Jiang Yi’s lower abdomen without saying a word. Jiang Yi quickly crouched back down, hugging her knees as she emphasized, “I told you, this is just how I am normally. It’s really not because of that.”

Jiang Sixian nodded knowingly. “Oh…”

But the way she said it sounded nothing short of mocking.

Jiang Sixian rinsed off under the shower, washed her hair, and then stepped into the bathtub.

The moment she got in, she nestled into Jiang Yi’s arms. When Jiang Yi tried to move away, Jiang Sixian grabbed her hand and placed it on her waist. “Stay with me. My back hurts.”

Remembering how Jiang Sixian had cried the night before, Jiang Yi felt a twinge of guilt. She rested her hand on Jiang Sixian’s waist and began massaging it gently. Jiang Sixian closed her eyes, relaxing comfortably in her embrace.

Jiang Yi focused solely on the massage and asked, “Tomorrow’s Monday—a workday. Don’t you have to go to the office?”

Jiang Sixian nestled deeper into Jiang Yi’s arms, breathing in her scent, and nodded. “There are things I need to take care of.”

Jiang Yi hummed in understanding before asking, “Won’t skipping work these past few days affect your job?”

Jiang Sixian tilted her head up and smiled at her. “Are you worried about me?”

Jiang Yi’s hand on her waist paused. “No, you’re overthinking it. I just want to understand your usual work routine so I can handle any emergencies.”

Jiang Sixian chuckled, stretching her neck before settling more comfortably against Jiang Yi. “My work schedule is pretty flexible. The management team handles most things, and they only bring issues to me if they can’t make a decision. Most of the time, I’m just attending meetings…”

Over the past few years, her mental state hadn’t been the best. Though she had interned at the grassroots level during university, after graduating, she decided to assemble a professional team and invest in promising young talents to grow her capital.

After all, she didn’t have the energy to handle everything herself anymore.

Jiang Yi was curious. “Like what?”

Jiang Sixian thought for a moment. “For example, during university, I funded a senior’s research in cutting-edge biology. A while ago, she made a breakthrough and even invited me to a summit. I ended up earning a huge profit from it.”

“How much?”

“Estimated at a few hundred million, give or take.”

Jiang Yi sucked in a sharp breath. Damn, rich people. She gave a thumbs-up. “Impressive, capitalist.”

Jiang Sixian smiled, though the light in her eyes dimmed slightly. “The impressive ones aren’t me, but those geniuses. I just… discovered them and reaped the commercial benefits.”

She had never wanted to be a businesswoman. But now, she realized she had inherited her father’s traits after all—she had become a calculating profiteer.

Jiang Yi thought for a moment before saying, “That’s still impressive. Most capitalists only care about short-term gains and exploiting people. Only a small portion actually fund research. Your money is practically serving the nation, isn’t it?”

She concluded with a label: “You’re a conscientious entrepreneur.”

Jiang Sixian laughed. She turned around, shifting slightly until she was straddling Jiang Yi’s lap. Then, she reached out and tapped Jiang Yi’s lips with a finger. “Not calling me a capitalist anymore?”

Jiang Yi didn’t answer, just stared at her pointedly—her expression clearly saying, You already know the answer, don’t you?

Her opinion of Jiang Sixian had shifted slightly. From this perspective, she thought Jiang Sixian was at least a somewhat ethical businesswoman.

Jiang Sixian smiled, caressing Jiang Yi’s cheek before biting her lip and asking, “Do you think I’m… unambitious?”

Jiang Yi didn’t understand why she would ask that and looked at her blankly.

Seeing her confusion, Jiang Sixian sighed in frustration. She draped her arms over Jiang Yi’s shoulders and rested her head against them. “Other people’s kids… are all managing their family businesses and achieving great things. Meanwhile, I just hired professional managers and occasionally check in on collaborations. Doesn’t that make me seem… lazy?”

Lazy? That was the dream! A proper wealthy heir should have that kind of setup!

Jiang Yi hesitated before saying, “I don’t know what counts as ‘success’ for people raised in families like yours, but I think as long as the company isn’t losing money and is running smoothly, that’s good enough.”

“At least it’s better than those who squander their parents’ money on reckless ventures, right?”

If she didn’t have a talent for business, then it was better to be a stable second-generation heir than to force things and fail.

Jiang Sixian chuckled at that, nuzzling Jiang Yi’s shoulder with her chin. “I think I do have some talent.” So far, none of her investments had failed. Even if they didn’t earn much, they at least had a positive social impact.

Jiang Yi leaned back comfortably against the edge of the bathtub. “If you think you do, and if this is the life you want, then that’s enough.”

Jiang Sixian nodded. “Mm. Okay.”

That night was the first time since they’d met that Jiang Sixian didn’t pester her for sex. Jiang Yi, in an unfamiliar environment but holding a woman who was at least somewhat familiar, slept soundly.

The next morning, the hotel that usually delivered Jiang Sixian’s meals sent over breakfast.

After eating, Jiang Sixian handed Jiang Yi a new suit and led her out the door to the company.

On the way, the bodyguard who had previously delivered clothes to Jiang Yi introduced her to the rest of the security team and explained their shifts and positions. Jiang Yi got a sense of the security structure around Jiang Sixian and felt more at ease.

As before, the others followed at a distance while she stayed close to Jiang Sixian.

They arrived at the company without incident. By then, Jiang Yi was fully geared up—wearing sunglasses and a communication earpiece, standing stiffly beside Jiang Sixian like a robot.

Jiang Sixian had seen plenty of photos of Jiang Yi in uniform, but when they first met, Jiang Yi had been in a much more relaxed state. Now, seeing her like this—so disciplined and imposing—was unbearably attractive.

The moment Jiang Yi helped her out of the car, Jiang Sixian couldn’t stop her pheromones from broadcasting a single-minded message: So hot so hot so hot…

Want to hug, want to kiss, want to—

When Jiang Yi picked up on her pheromones, her entire face burned red. Unable to take it anymore, she yanked off her sunglasses and glared at Jiang Sixian, mouthing a warning: “Behave!”

Jiang Sixian couldn’t help it—she burst out laughing.

When they entered the elevator, Jiang Yi ushered Jiang Sixian in first before standing by the door to close it.

Alone now, Jiang Sixian stared at Jiang Yi’s sharp profile and was suddenly reminded of her careless, effortlessly charming teenage self. The memory made her itch with desire.

Unable to resist, she reached out, hooked a finger around Jiang Yi’s tie, and pulled her close.

Jiang Yi looked at her through her sunglasses. “What are you doing?”

Jiang Sixian, as if possessed by the spirit of a domineering CEO, leaned in and captured her lips. “Let me kiss you…”

The moment their lips met, Jiang Yi’s shirt was already in disarray. Pinned against the elevator wall, subjected to Jiang Sixian’s roaming hands, she felt like she was going to die of embarrassment.

Between kisses, Jiang Yi glanced at the elevator display—they were almost at the top floor, where the conference room was. She quickly pushed against Jiang Sixian’s shoulders. “Okay, okay, we’re almost there. Fix your lipstick.”

Without looking, she knew Jiang Sixian had smeared all her lipstick onto her.

Jiang Sixian hummed in acknowledgment and had Jiang Yi retrieve the lipstick from her pocket. She reapplied it leisurely.

By the time the elevator doors opened, Jiang Sixian was stepping out, perfectly composed, while Jiang Yi scrambled to straighten her clothes and wipe the lipstick off her own mouth.

The two of them emerged one after the other, stunning the secretary and assistant waiting outside.

The secretary and assistant’s eyes flicked between Jiang Sixian’s freshly touched-up lips and Jiang Yi’s disheveled state, their expressions shifting to delighted realization.

No way—their icy boss had a lover?! Since when?! Who was this person?!

Jiang Yi froze when she saw the two of them. Damn it. They looked way too guilty—there was no way to explain this!

Ugh, this is insane! She felt like some secret, shameful sugar baby!

And yet, Jiang Sixian acted completely unbothered. After putting her lipstick away, she slipped it back into Jiang Yi’s left pocket and adopted her usual aloof expression. She held out a hand to her assistant. “Shang Ming, the meeting materials.”

The assistant snapped out of her daze and handed over the documents. “Here, Boss.”

Jiang Sixian took them and began flipping through as she walked, her secretary and assistant hurrying after her. Without looking up, she said to the secretary, “This is Jiang Yi. I’ve already briefed you on her background. Bring her contract later—I’ll have her sign it after the meeting.”

The secretary murmured an acknowledgment before sneaking another glance at Jiang Yi. So the boss had been single all this time because she was into this type?!

Uniform kink—hell yeah!

Jiang Yi didn’t notice the secretary’s expression. She followed behind Jiang Sixian, watching as she strode forward in her heels, flipping through documents and occasionally asking her assistant questions in that cool, detached tone.

And against all odds, her body reacted.

Damn it. She’d never imagined Jiang Sixian could be this cool, this mesmerizing.

She was so screwed.
