SWMSO – Chapter 99

Extra Story 2 - Jiang Sixian 3

After six years apart, Jiang Yi hadn’t changed much. Her inherently kind nature made her easily soften when faced with others’ requests.

Jiang Sixian was adept at exploiting people’s weaknesses. She knew exactly how to keep Jiang Yi by her side, so she employed an effective negotiation tactic—first making an unreasonable demand, then offering a negotiable alternative that would satisfy both parties.

After some bargaining, she successfully managed to temporarily keep Jiang Yi with her.

From their reunion until now, three nights had passed. Three nights during which Jiang Sixian, who hadn’t slept properly, finally relaxed her tense nerves after confirming Jiang Yi wouldn’t leave immediately, briefly slipping into slumber.

She dreamed again of that night—the spacious hotel lobby with dazzling crystal chandeliers overhead. Young men and women wearing various masks moved through the distorted, ambiguous lighting with wine glasses in hand. Amidst the elegant crowd, Jiang Yi in her white shirt and black pants walked steadily away with her back turned.

Jiang Sixian chased that silhouette, pushing against the flow of people desperately running toward the illusion until she finally grasped the other’s hand.

The caught Jiang Yi turned her head, casting a confused glance that seemed to say: “You’ve got the wrong person.”

With a pang of heartache, Jiang Sixian jolted awake.

Opening her eyes to find Jiang Yi no longer beside her, her mind instantly cleared. She hastily wrapped herself in the blanket and got up to search for Jiang Yi, panicking as if she’d just awakened from a beautiful dream that had lasted too long.

But before she could find her, she noticed the note left on the bedside table. Jiang Sixian immediately recognized the handwriting. Picking up the note and gazing at the familiar script, her mind flashed back to many years ago when she’d returned from a birthday party to find that giant panda placed on her bed.

In that moment, she suddenly realized Jiang Yi didn’t purely dislike or distance herself—she cared too. At the very least, Jiang Yi paid attention to what she liked.

A secret longing rose in Jiang Sixian’s heart. She knew she was fundamentally a rather crazy, obsessive person, so that night she’d recklessly gone to find Jiang Yi.

There had even been a moment when she’d considered using her own body to confirm whether Jiang Yi truly felt nothing for her.

Perhaps influenced by Ning Wenying, Jiang Sixian had never paid much attention to her own gender. But when she wanted to obtain something, she could skillfully utilize all her advantages.

Maybe due to growing up in a single-parent family, Jiang Sixian felt she was naturally strong-willed. Since childhood, regardless of whether her mother had expectations, she’d always strived to be first.

That way, only overflowing praise would surround her and her mother.

She held herself to strict standards—not just excelling in everything, but also perfecting her interpersonal conduct, never clashing with others, earning an excellent reputation.

From a young age, she understood what results her actions would bring.

But Jiang Yi was the sole exception in her life. No matter how friendly she was, all she received from Jiang Yi were polite responses.

Even when Jiang Yi treated her well too, it stemmed from Jiang Yi’s good upbringing, not from any genuine desire for closeness.

Jiang Yi was upright, kind-hearted, possessing virtues beyond ordinary people. She was also the first person who treated Jiang Sixian well without expecting emotional reciprocation.

Jiang Sixian found herself irresistibly drawn, developing curiosity about her. But even when she treated Jiang Yi sincerely, the results were never quite satisfactory.

Back then, Jiang Sixian had been too young to understand some people say things they don’t mean. In her naive perception, she’d assumed Jiang Yi was just like her—a polite, considerate child, unaware of how much such a person had actually sacrificed for her.

Perhaps during their first meeting at the equestrian center, Jiang Yi’s upright and kind nature had instinctively chosen to help her. Even during the sports meet, she couldn’t remain indifferent toward her…

But what about at the hospital? At school? Every noon, Jiang Yi always appeared at the classroom door first to take her away—could that really have been just out of responsibility?

These questions reached their peak when she received that particularly beloved gift from Jiang Yi.

After repeatedly confirming she truly couldn’t smell Jiang Yi’s pheromones and was nearly ready to give up from sheer frustration, Jiang Sixian made a crazy decision that night.

Even Jiang Sixian herself was somewhat shocked by her boldness when entering Jiang Yi’s cottage. Yet at the same time, she wasn’t entirely surprised by her own audacity.

Because she’d always been that strong-willed—what she wanted, she always obtained.

She’d thought something might happen that night. Even if nothing did, at least she could taste Jiang Yi’s scent.

But no. Nothing at all.

In her memory, there was only an uncharacteristically shy Jiang Yi fleeing in panic.

When the door closed, Jiang Sixian couldn’t help wondering: “Are all alphas like this?”

No. They weren’t.

She’d met all sorts of alphas—awful like her father, devoted like Jiang Qionghua… After presenting, she’d encountered even more. Genetics, physical makeup, and years of gender culture influence made them arrogant and rude, often struggling to show basic respect during adolescence.

The alphas at their school were slightly better since they’d all been girls before. But at co-ed schools, gender hierarchies were more pronounced, making their personalities worse.

Among the love letters Jiang Sixian received, many alphas boastfully exaggerated their strength, using the word “protection” as an excuse to imprison her in a gender cage.

Jiang Sixian scoffed at this.

She knew what most alphas were like, and understood the advantages she possessed as an omega. So that night, if Jiang Yi had been a normal alpha, she couldn’t possibly have remained unmoved.

But Jiang Yi was Jiang Yi—whether alpha or omega didn’t matter. Before and after presenting, she never changed due to genetic shifts.

Though nothing had happened that night, Jiang Sixian had left happy.

The person she liked was truly one of a kind.

Thinking of this, Jiang Sixian smiled while holding the note. Rubbing her fingers over the handwriting, she wondered how different the Jiang Yi who’d lost contact and six years of memories was from before.

Seemed… not much different at all.

Considering Jiang Yi’s attitude toward one-night stands and those sporadic floral implications, Jiang Sixian deduced she was likely the first person to spend the night with her.

Meaning, Jiang Yi had remained chaste these six years. Despite her naturally flirtatious physique, she hadn’t accumulated romantic entanglements.

Add to that how she’d endured in bed until being forced at the end—apparently not very enthusiastic about such matters.

From Jiang Sixian’s knowledge, alphas were creatures easily tempted by pheromones. But Jiang Yi wasn’t. Though she clearly enjoyed Jiang Sixian’s scent, she remained restrained, maintaining rationality…

Biting her lower lip and recalling their three days of madness, Jiang Sixian somewhat uncertainly thought she must hold some attraction for Jiang Yi.

Partly due to the influence of their previous marking, partly because Jiang Yi felt she’d occupied “the previous Jiang Yi’s” body. And another portion… probably meant she liked her.

Because…

When an alpha unconsciously lets an omega smell their pheromones, doesn’t that signify attraction?

What was this—love at first sight? Lust at first sight?

The thought made Jiang Sixian laugh aloud.

Raising a hand to touch her cheek, she sincerely thanked her mother for blessing her with reasonably good looks.

Jiang Sixian stopped smiling, lowering her eyes to deeply study Jiang Yi’s note as she composed herself.

Now she needed to find Jiang Yi—determine exactly how much this current Jiang Yi liked her, and quickly get her to sign that contract.

She would tie Jiang Yi to her side, preferably for this lifetime, never letting her go anywhere.

A hint of madness flickered in Jiang Sixian’s eyes before being suppressed. After freshening up, she called A-Quan to drive her to Jiang Yi’s apartment.

Jiang Sixian’s privileged upbringing meant she’d rarely visited such modest residences.

Taking the elevator to Jiang Yi’s floor, she followed the unit numbers until reaching Jiang Yi’s door and knocked.

In that moment, Jiang Sixian felt she might be dreaming.

She dreamed Jiang Yi had returned, spent a passionate night with her. Jiang Yi said she’d started a new life, found a new place.

Jiang Sixian urgently needed to confirm whether any of this was real.

Clenching her hands nervously, suppressing her chaotic heartbeat, she awaited fate’s judgment on her absurd fantasies.

But soon, the door opened. There stood Jiang Yi in a simple T-shirt, hair in a ponytail, her face more mature than in youth yet still carrying that seemingly indelible scent of Jiang Sixian.

Relief washed over her. Unable to suppress a smile, she properly greeted her.

Long time no see, Jiang Yi.

But time had clearly changed many things. Only when first stepping into Jiang Yi’s private space did Jiang Sixian realize she was a stranger in Jiang Yi’s world.

Jiang Yi had a new home, new job, even a new “Da Huang”—her pet.

Entering the room, Jiang Sixian felt everything here rejecting her, making her seem out of place.

Panic rising, she fearfully looked up at Jiang Yi.

The Jiang Yi who was both familiar and somewhat strange.

But Jiang Yi remained oblivious to her fear, only intensifying Jiang Sixian’s anxiety.

In this brief reunion, Jiang Sixian reached out, once again doing what could make Jiang Yi familiar.

She leaned in, cupped Jiang Yi’s face, pulling her down into a deep kiss.

Broken, helpless moans arose. Hearing these familiar sounds amidst their mingling pheromones, Jiang Sixian detected the overwhelming scent of snow cedar.

This rich pheromone aroma permeated the entire apartment, washing away Jiang Sixian’s sense of alienation.

Ah, this was an Alpha. Her Alpha.

Jiang Sixian released her own pheromones, surrendering to this chaotic world of scent.

She indulged herself, seeking only that familiar sense of security in this blissful moment.

Jiang Yi remained as rational as ever, her emotions seemingly always in control. Just as Jiang Sixian was about to force herself on her, Jiang Yi gently lifted her, voice hoarse as she said: “Not here…”

Not here—it might hurt you.

Don’t rush, slow down…

Jiang Sixian had never experienced this before, but enveloped in such tenderness, she couldn’t help thinking: if she and Jiang Yi had done something that night seven years ago, Jiang Yi would have gently coaxed her like this too.

She missed Jiang Yi too much. Even when joined as one, she couldn’t suppress this despairing longing.

Author’s Note: Since the main story was all from Jiang Yi’s perspective, many readers assumed Jiang Yi took advantage.

Actually, no—from Sixian’s perspective, she was always the one forcing things.

But Jiang Yi: “I’m done for, I have to take responsibility.”

Sixian: “So happy, I got her.”

Sixian’s character was established early as quite crazy—little details showed her overwhelming possessiveness, that sickly vibe.

But it’s fine. Mommy loves you.
